The overall performance of the team was not that impressive with the team only finishing in 11th place. However the 'BNI Assassins' did raise the most funds for the charity, with a total close to £2,000. This commercial was aired last week on ITV, ITV 3, Five USA, Sky Atlantic and Living TV. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-family:arial;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-family:arial;"&gt;The commercial is a short montage which will give British viewers a chance to discover the 'The Secret of the Mediterranean.' In March, the Google-owned video site announced that its users were uploading more than 24 hours of video per minute. In May, YouTube revealed that it had surpassed 2 billion video views per day.The company also disclosed that it now has around 15,000 partners creating millions of minutes of content. "We’re privileged to work with the most passionate and talented partners in the world, who produce and upload videos that inspire us, make us laugh and move us -- and, most importantly, change the way we look at the world," Tom Pickett, YouTube's director of content operations and online creators, said in a blog post.To celebrate, the video service is giving some of its most successful partners funds to help them create more original content. Five hundred top partners will receive $1,000 credits at B&amp;H Photo in order to help them buy the equipment they need to improve their content's quality. Some of the selected partners include Mystery Guitar Man, Shay Carl, and one of our favorites, musician Kina Grannis.The whole point of the program is to bring more premium content to the pages of YouTube. Google is reportedly contemplating an acquisition of Next New Networks and has hired Malik Ducard, formerly a senior VP at Paramount. Oh they also talked a lot about video and how people get it. In fact, they found that 12% more are streaming movies on the web, they also found that 5% more are doing the same with TV, both up from the year prior. Netflix topped the chart with a 36 point boost over Q1 2009 (and with recent announcements will continue to grow I imagine). What they also said is that flat out, downloading of video is flatter than a pancake on the surface of Jupiter. Well, they didn’t use those exact word really, but you get the picture (ponders if Jupiter has a surface for a pancake to be flattened against).&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 16.0px Georgia"&gt;In regards to those dastardly scoundrels who are illegally downloading movies, TV (can it be illegal if it’s free?) and music, they found that music is the prime target (no big surprise) at 20% while only 9% did so with films and 7% with TV (probably because it’s free). Seriously, they cited not only better quality sites (Hulu comes to mind as does Vevo) but also the sheer number of them. Sure, why download something that might be crappy quality when you can get it straight from the source. That would be like…nah, I probably couldn’t get away with that, I mean Mark only let one porn slip through on that last article.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 16.0px Georgia"&gt;Now I’m not sure if this is exactly pertaining to legal or illegal but Interpret said that:&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 16.0px Georgia"&gt;Consumers claim the convenience and ease of use, as well as the lack of funds to pay for entertainment, are the main reasons they are driven to file-sharing.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 16.0px Georgia"&gt;I know there’s an awesome quote from some famous person that would fit really well right here, but I can’t for the life of me remember it.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 16.0px Georgia; min-height: 19.0px"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 16.0px Georgia"&gt;Sir Francis Drake Courtesy of Wikipedia&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 16.0px Georgia"&gt;I am curious about what exactly is convenient about having to (note this is just hypothetical…) go to Google (or some well-known site where users swing from the mizzenmast, say ARRR MATEY! and shiver their timbers or share their booty) search for some program that will then allow you to download stuff. Then go to one of those said sites that have loads and loads of links to people who are sharing said stuff, search through hundreds, or perhaps thousands of search results to find what you’re looking for and then download it…and wait, and wait, and wait.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 16.0px Georgia"&gt;Or so I hear anyway. I mean that doesn’t really sound convenient to me at all. I would rather, this is also hypothetical as I am outside of their service area, go to Hulu or Vevo and just watch what I want to watch in decent quality from the source. Though many of us who sail the high digital seas, aren’t in the imaginary boundaries of said Imperial Majesties and therefore many do a Sir Francis Drake…&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 16.0px Georgia"&gt;Also, it seems that Interpret said: If you’re poor, you steal. Am I right? Lack of funds drives us to file-sharing? But, it’s TV and almost everyone has one of those right? The broadcasts are still free in America aren’t they? I don’t really know what a lack of funds has to do with downloading television. It also predicted that online video will be the primary driver of that growth.  Cisco’s report says that 767 exabytes of data (one exabyte is the equivalent of one billion gigabytes) will be transferred online in 2014, and that 91% of consumer traffic will be online video, which will include both traditional web video and video-on-demand provided by television providers.  There’s also a closer milestone in Cisco’s research: Online video will surpass peer-to-peer traffic (which includes file sharing services like BitTorrent and a bulk of content piracy) for the first time this year. P2P has been the largest portion of consumer online traffic for some time now, and it will continue growing — just not anywhere near as quickly as online video.  We’ve already learned from comScore’s data that web users are watching more videos for longer than they used to, but Cisco also predicts massive growth in video calling. Remember how The Jetsons promised a future in which people made phone calls with video screens? The other factor driving the video trend is the growth of broadband. And, clearly user-generated videos are popular, as sites such as YouTube are claiming hundreds of millions of members who are watching literally billions of videos a month. Given this new development in organic search, it makes sense to be sure that video content is optimized for search engines. To get the inside scoop on how to do this, we spoke to Suranga Chandratillake, founder and CEO of blinkx and an expert in this emerging field. The most important thing to consider, said Chandratillake, is that video SEO as it pertains to Google is vastly different from standard SEO. “People forget that while Google searches the entire Web for text, it is only searching Google Video and YouTube for video, he said. “It’s a huge difference. For instance, if you search for sailing charters in the Bay area, you’ll get big businesses, mom-and-pop dot.coms, all of them. It’s not the same with video, so it turns SEO on its head.
