Months ago, while on a trip in Austin, my boyfriend got me an amazing necklace from designer Erica Weiner. It's snake vertebrae cast in brass to make a great neckalce!

Well, I liked it so much, I asked for another for Christmas, but this one is the actual vertebrae, cleaned and aligned on a rose gold tinted chain! It's light weight and looks good layered with the original.

The day of giving thanks is over, so now begins the season of giving. I decided this month I will try to avoid the posts about what gifts and trinkets would make the perfect stocking stuffer, but try to post more about what good deed you can do by offering some pocket change!

Hope in SA helps raise money for South Africa and it's children, and aims to overcome poverty through education. Did you know that by just donating $10 a month you're paying for a child's school uniform!

Moving, and Money, and Midterms... oh my!!!

So with the stresses of moving and all the financial woes that go hand in hand, I've started investing in tea and not my steady fix of coffee and cigarettes. I went to Teavana and stood among the towering wall of tea and was made a concoction of Lavender Dreams white tea, Jasmine Dragon Phoenix Pearls green tea and Peach Tranquility herbal tea. It was pretty good, but my favorite part was the sugar! I love their rock sugar (that also happens to be blended with honey) so much...I bought a jar. Now, honestly, do you think is taking the place of my smokes?

Finally I have moved into my new apartment in the cozy little nook that is called Lakewood. Some call it a little piece of Austin w/in Dallas. I call it home. So needless to say you'll be seeing a few more interior decorating posts in the next few weeks. Anyways, while watching the AMC premier of The Walking Dead last night I was looking for some new dishes and stumbled across these....

I gotta say, I have a major love jones for this cup. A cute alternative to the common glass that adds a nice little quirk to my kitchen!

After spilling an entire bottle of SMART Water in my purse I needed a pick me up. That pick me up came in the form of a lip gloss called Revenge Is Sweet from the MAC's Venomous Villains Collection. It's an amazing color and (as the cliche goes) "makes being bad look oh so good!"

So unless you're completely out of the hipster loop, or you could really give two sugars, Alexa Chung's Madewell collaboration "falls" into stores this September. Alexa Chung, loved by some for her fashion sense and looks, hated by many for her total package of a life (i.e. her Artic beaufriend). I've visited various blogs and it's been a constant battle of "who wants to dress like a 5 year old" to "I've always wondered what would go with that chambray shirt". I'm a Madewell fan, and from what I'm seeing from the website there are a couple of pieces I could see myself in...but also a couple I could see nobody in. The line hits stores Sept. 11th. If you live in Dallas feel free to catch the grand launch at Northpark Mall's Madewell from 9am -10am. An insider said there'll be tea and biscuits, that's reason enough for me to go.

So I've noticed the green nailed trend running rampant on fingers of "It" Girls and their drones and thought ...why not. Not much of a follower or conformist I bought one of the new Chanel Khaki colors, Khaki Vert, and almost teared up at the new life my nails never new existed. All jokes aside it is an amazing color. The whole set of Khakis seems like a good investment...if you're not price shy. On the green side I feel it's gonna be a huge color for the fall and that the whole Art Deco movement is gonna dominate. Lace, whiplash curves, peacock feathers, and wisteria will be everywhere. You have been forewarned!

Here it is. My first blog ever. Now I can rant and rave on topics that concerns nobody but me! Tres excitement! I was the last to get Facebook, just got the second Justin Timberlake cd a couple of months ago, and still haven't seen Avatar. Needless to say I'm a bit behind in mainstream pop culture, but you'll find I am way ahead of avant garde trends. We'll see how long this last.
