First OB Visit

I saw my doc yesterday for my first OB appointment. Dr. B said he apologized for not getting back to me sooner (regarding my ER visit on Sunday) he was in the hopsital but in surgery. He was happy I went to the ER and was sorry I was there so long. However, I made sure when I was there that the doctors kept in contact with him seeing as he's the head of the OB department of the hospital. He called all the shots even though he wasn't there. He was happy to see me and we BS'd about stuff like we normally do.

He told me he knows me better than his own daughter, which was a huge compliment to me. We discussed plan of action and monitoring and he wants to keep me monitored frequently. He got a new ultrasound machine and wants to use me as a "gunea pig" to test new techniques out. He said for some of the stuff he wants to try he wouldn't charge me for as he's using them for the medical board certification. So he's going to call me in within the next 3-5 weeks for a scan.

I will be getting my tubes tied after this baby so this is is it! I also get to get my tummy tuck after delivery! I am super stoked about that... I need to call a few doctors to see if they will be able to perform the surgery after my delivery.

ER Visit

Well I spent 11 miserable hours in the ER last night. I had some "issues" that were a concern of mine. Tom and I talked and said I should call Dr. B. I tried calling him twice with no response. After waiting some more I said we need to go to the ER. I didn't want to chance anything. I figured Dr. B was in surgery and he was.

I had a Heplock, foley and an ultrasound and some commotion inbetween and all that lasted 11 hours.

After all of that everything is just fine. I feel crazy for spending that kind of time in the ER, but it's worth it.

I ended up sending Daddy home because he had to work and Grandpa was there with Great Grandpa/Grandma so he took me home. Nothing like a family reunion in the ER!

Today we enjoyed our holiday with our good friend Valerie from Michigan. She came down to visit us and spend a day of thanks at our table. I baked cookies and cheesecake and cooked the rest of the meal.

We then went over to Tom's parents house and when Tom's mom took off Alli's shirt she read the back of it and she said, "Did you know her shirt says she's going to be a big sister?" And we nodded our heads and said, yes. It was a bit crazy in the house so it wasn't blurted out and a crazy reaction, but none the less everyone seemed surprised (as we were) and happy. The general consensus is "we hope this one is a boy". We will be happy with blue or pink.

Today I had my first scan... It was such a surreal experience. I was measuring exactly to what I had my estimated due date as - July 10, 2010.

The baby's heart rate was 140 beats per minute.

Sick babies

Both of the girls are under the weather. Em and Alli's asthma is flared up because of this lovely weather change. Em's asthma is under control and Alli's is a bit hard to get under control. I am hoping the steroid will help her lungs snap out of it. She's super CRABBY when she's sick!

Today I threw up for the first time. I am hoping it was just because dinner didn't agree with me and it's not the beginning of morning sickness. But, I will take whatever is thrown my way!

New Office Staff

Dr. B (my OB/GYN) has moved practices and while I loved the office staff at the old practice. I will truly miss Linda and her advice and compassion towards me while pregnant with Em and even moreso with Allison. I am humbled by how nice and supportive the staff at the new practice have been to me when I haven't even met the nurse (seeing as she's new) the other gal is super nice. She told me to call whenever I needed to be reassured. I LOVE the fact they make me feel welcome and very supported.

Today I told Daddy I was pregnant with you... I posted this picture (below) as his wallpaper on his desktop. He opened his computer and said, "What the f***?!", he did a double take and asked us how far along I was. We decided we are going to wait to tell our families until I am comfortable with the status of our pregnancy.

Can't wait!

Trick or Treat!

We went over to Greg and Jen's tonight for Trick or Treat. We went over earlier for dinner and got the kids dressed and we went on our way. The kids ended up walking about 1.5 miles in 1.5 hours; which was quite a feat. there was no arguing who was going to ring the doorbell or who was going to go first and no complaining about anyone's feet hurting. The kids made out like a bandit on candy... Better yet, the passed out the moment we got home!

Side note on costumes, I bought 2 for Allison the Princess outfit was a 3T-4T and I'm glad she tried it on because it was really tight on her body. Nothing has ever been tight on her. The deal was she could wear it weather permitting. Well needless to say we went with plan 2, she was a skeleton. She wore 2 onesies, her jacket and her shirt. She wouldn't have lasted in that little dress.

Holy crap! Today I got a positive HPT today!!! We are expecting baby number 3!

"The Wilds"

We went to The Wilds in Cumberland, Ohio. It was a beautiful 3 hour drive in Southern Ohio. The colors of the leaves changing and the bluffs are always a favorite of mine to see.

The Wilds is land donated by the American Electric Power which were surface coal mines donated to the State after they were fully reclaimed. I handle this type of business at work so it was nice to see how the land is supposed to look. In total 10,000 acres was donated and currently only 1,400 acres are in use. It was neat to find out the history of the place prior to going, thanks to my boss.

We ended up spending about 3.5 hours down there in total our tour was about 2.5 hours and we killed some time before waiting for Tom's parents before we went on our tour.

Allison had a BLAST! We were in an enclosed bus, it was too cold to go in an open-aired bus. And Allison would have climbed out if we let her. She was literally standing on Tom's head clawing out the window after the giraffes. Too cute.

Fall already?

I can hardly believe fall is almost here... I am still trying to wrap my mind around the fact that school has started almost 2 months ago!

Things have been busy in our neck of the woods....

Emily is doing well in school. For the first time since preschool I haven't had to worry about behavior. That has been since she was 3! So my little girl is being GOOD! I am so proud!

I was able to go on my first field trip with Emily. I was supposed to go when I was pregnant with Allison, but it was cancelled due to bad weather. We went to Lake County MetroParks. It was so beautiful there. It was quite a trip to get out there, but totally worth it. I want to take the girls back out there in the Spring.

Allison is a chatty-cathy. She picks up on everything others do. She has a very comedic personality and she does nothing but make us do belly laughs.

The month of October is super busy....

I went to Columbus last weekend with Bonnie for a Cooking Show/Expo.
All 4 of us are going to get our flu shots this weekend. It's going to be interesting schleping into the Clinic lifting our sleeves up. Bring on the Tylenol!
This weekend we are going to Zanesville which is about 3 hours away to a place called The Wilds. We may go further South to the Ohio River and visit a client of mine. We will go horseback riding and shoot Tom's newest gun on her farm.
Emily is going to get her left nostril cauterized after having her right nostril done in July.
Tom and I are going to the Metallica concert on October 15th.
Oh and we have a wedding to go to...

Yeah... fun times...

Fall already??

Well... since school started life has been really crazy! Work has been hectic. The girls are now enrolled in gymnastics and tennis.

Emily starts tennis in a few weeks. I took her for an evaluation. She will start out as a beginner. She will be able to work herself up the circuit at her own pace. Eviddently a girl at the club was in the US Open. It gives Em something to work for. Not saying she will be in the US Open, but she can go places with her talent.

Allison will have her 3rd class tomorrow. Alli, however really doesn't feel like listening especially while on the trampolines. She really likes being a monkey and jumping and climbing. I think she may have monkey genes...

So far Em is doing well in school. Thankfully there's no behavioral issues (so far).

Looks like we will be spending Christmas in sunny Florida again!! I can't wait!

New beginnings!

Emily started school on Monday and I was so elated to send her back... Sounds bad I know, but as a child my mom was always happy when my sister and I went back to school... Now I know why. The last 2-3 weeks of summer vacation kids get so bored therefore driving their moms insane!

I am happy Emily got the same teacher she had last year. I am hoping to avoid behavior issues this year and go through this year smoothly and it will be a year of growth for Em.

I have signed up Allison for gymnastics. She will be starting in 1 week. I plan on taking a TON of pictures of our monkey.

Emily will be starting tennis weekly tennis lessons in October. She really has a chance of being really good. So I am hoping this will help her with her self esteem, because her back hand (without training) ROCKS!!

Mitchel or Oliver??

I took Emily to see Mitchel Musso aka Oliver "Stoken" Oken on Hannah Montana. We got my ticket and Tom's parents got Em's ticket for her birthday. We splurged and got her the VIP tickets for the meet and greet.

We drove to the police station where Tommy works and we got a police ride to and from the House of Blues. I made Em sit behind the cage to and from. Thanks Ed and Jim! I really appreciate it!

I was super excited until about 5 minutes before we met Mitchel. We are waiting in line and I realize, oh shit I actually need to talk to him. Then I wonder... What if he's a jerk? Well I couldn't be more wrong.

I walked up to the table and started mumbling... I am not sure if I should call you Oliver or Mitchel. He says I can call him Mitchel (go figure)! What a dumb ass I was. I told Mitchel he was on my television all the time and I introduced Emily to him. He signed our tickets and signed her CD and we took a picture with him.

This is what made the trip totally worth it. Mitchel said it was really nice to meet us and he thanked us for coming out to see him. I was shocked and greatful that he is a young "kid" with enough manners to say thank you. And all I thought to myself was THANK YOU for saying thank you!

The concert was awesome. There was standing room right in front of the stage and thankfully Emily didn't want to stand - so we went up to the balcony and sat. I would have needed 3 Atavains to get through the evening with all of the crazy, screaming girls.

The first opening act was Jimmy Robbins. I had never heard of him, but he seemed like a really cute "teeny-bopper" singer. He was really good with the crowd and his bass player was hysterical. He was totally rocking out to what seemed like his own music.

The second opening (headliner act) was KSM. This was an all girl rock band with 5 girls. They ROCKED it! I couldn't believe the potential these girls have.

When KSM was playing Mitchel and his best friend, Sam, and two other people came up to sit on the balcony and they were about 10 feet from us. It was neat to see him rockin' out to KSM having a good time acting like everyone else.

During KSM's last song they left and shortly thereafter Mitchel came out. He sang for about 45 minutes and during his performance and threw out a lot of t-shirts and CD's to the girls in the standing room only section. It was funny seeing these girls fawn over him (oh to be young again). In fact towards the end of the concert, Emily whispers to me can I yell I love you? Oh god! I told her of course, yes! (What do I care?) So during the rest of her performance she's screaming and yelling enjoying herself all the while yelling "I LOVE YOU!".

All 3 performers really put on a good live performance. I was impressed all the way around. The staff at the House of Blues in Cleveland were very friendly.

After Mitchel was done performing Em wanted to see him again. I told her we had to be fair and give the other girls who didn't have the chance to meet him and be fair. She left crying because he didn't hear her say I love you.

Overall, a wonderful night, we had a very nice time.

Happy July!

Again I have waited too long to update the girls blog. I chant to myself on a daily basis “I can’t believe how fast time flies”.

I forgot to mention for Em’s birthday party she had 5 girls spend the night. I must say it was quite an experience. The girls all seemed to have a great time. I had pizza and breadsticks for them. They watched Disney’s Princess Protection Program – The Movie while eating popcorn and for Em’s “birthday cake” I made Smore’s. I figured it was something simple, quick and easy to make and not have to make a huge fuss over. The girls stayed up later than I did. I couldn’t stay up past 11:30, I guess that’s what happens when you get old.

For the 4^th of July we kept everything quiet. We went to see fireworks at the new Crusher’s Stadium. The Crushers is a new minor league ball team in an adjacent city. We grilled out Cajun Angels which are the most sinful of foods… Shrimp wrapped with bacon and cooked on an iron skillet with butter. Good thing is the last time we had them was last 4^th of July.

We are now preparing a visit to go back to Wisconsin. We are going to go to Wisconsin Dells for a few days. I am really excited to go because I haven’t been there in 15 years! I am looking forward to sharing memories with my family that I have had there.

When we get back I need to go out school supply shopping and buy Emily’s uniforms. Can’t believe school will be starting just around the corner!

And I forgot to mention, we got a new car! I got a Mitsubishi Endeavor. My first ver foreign vehicle. I like it. I just hope it lasts awhile!

Well yesterday Emily turned 8. I can't believe 8 years has passed and my baby girl is 8!!!

Emily got a new bike and she got tickets to the Mitchel Musso concert. She got VIP passes so she can meet him. I am excited but nervous. The concert is at the House of Blues in Cleveland so it is in a smaller place and it won't be crazy like The "Q".

Well... it's mid-June now and it's been a busy couple of weeks...

Tommy had his birthday on the 8th. We celebrated quietly with family. I made Tom a Turtle Hot Fudge Brownie Ice Cream cake. It looked like it was from Baskin Robins. The bad part is I didn't get to take pictures because I was picking up afterwards and dropped a food processor blade on my foot and had to go to the ER for two stitches. I am still healing from it and it hurts, but life goes on.

I am getting ready to go back to work tomorrow after 3.5 weeks off. I will be going back part-time for 2 weeks and then going from there.

Em's birthday is coming up and I am going to have a sleepover at the house with 5-10 girls to watch the new Disney Movie Princess Protection Program. God help me.

Yesterday Allison hurt her lip... She tripped up the stairs and busted her lip open. It's nice and swollen... Poor kid can't catch a break.

It's been a month exactly since I last posted. I can't believe I haven't posted sooner.

Tomorrow is Em's last day of school, thankfully! I am SO sick of doing homework. I need a break.

Allison is doing well. She's just as sassy as ever. Yesterday I asked her if she was good for her daddy and she said, "I'm a good girl". Very cute.

I had surgery 2 weeks ago (girly stuff). I have been home recovering on medical leave. I have another week left before I go back to work. I am going to see about going part-time for two weeks to ease myself into working again. We shall see how that goes.

I also need to take new pictures of the girls, it's been awhile since I have taken any...
