It was all smiles at the African Bar, Oriental Hotel, venue of this week’s Industry Nite which hosted Alapomeji Records boss 9ice as he reunited with long-time friends and crew mates ID Cabasa, Lord of Ajasa and others.

9ice who used the opportunity to celebrate his birthday was seen discussing and sharing jokes with long-time friend, collaborator and producer ID Cabasa in one of the backstage rooms. Cabasa who heads CODED Tunes played a major part in producing 9ice’s first two albums – ‘Certificate’ and ‘Gongo Aso’ .
After ‘Gongo Aso’ was released 2008, Cabasa gradually played lesser roles in 9ice’s music and eventually became a guest producer on subsequent albums ‘Tradition’ and ‘Versus’. Reports say 9ice also alienated himself from former CODED Tunes allies including 2Phat.
At Industry Nite on Wednesday January 18, 9ice also met up with long-time friends such as rapper Lord of Ajasa and pop act Jah Bless and even called both artistes on stage to perform ‘Le fenu so’ and ‘Pass me the ganja’ respectively.

Other acts that performed at the event are Alapomeji acts Seriki and Snow, as well as ex-Alapomeji acts Ajayi Brothers. Others are Tiwa Savage, Vector, DJ Jimmy JATT, JJC, Coded Tunes rapper oLamide, Dammy Krane and others. Popular faces that attended include Mo’Hits boss Don Jazzy, Dr SID, Terry G, Modenine, Sexy Steel and others.

Bomb attacks targeting security forces and gun battles killed at least 162 people in Nigeria’s second-largest city of Kano, where bodies littered the streets on Saturday, sources said.
A curfew was imposed on Kano in Nigeria’s mainly Muslim north after it exploded in violence on Friday evening, with eight police and immigration offices or residences targeted.
The main newspaper in the north said a purported spokesman for Islamist group Boko Haram had claimed responsibility for the violence, saying it was in response to authorities’ refusal to release its members from custody.
Scores of such attacks in Nigeria’s north have been blamed on Boko Haram, though Friday’s would be among the group’s most audacious and well-coordinated assaults.
Some 20 huge blasts could be heard in the city as a suicide bomberstruck a regional police office and a car bomb rocked state police headquarters after the attacker fled and was shot dead, police sources said.
A number of other police posts were targeted, including a secret police building, as well as immigration offices.
Gunfire shook a number of areas, and a local television journalist was among those shot dead as he covered the unrest.
“We have been receiving dead bodies since last night from relief agencies involved in the evacuation of bodies,” an official at the city’s main morgue said on condition of anonymity.
“At this moment we have 162 bodies in the morgue, and this figure may change because bodies are still being brought,” he added.
A source with the Red Cross said his agency alone had counted 121 dead.
An AFP correspondent counted at least 80 bodies in the main morgue, many of them with gunshot wounds, and said there were piles of other corpses he was unable to count.
Around 100 people waited outside the morgue to collect their relatives’ remains.
Authorities have not given a precise death toll.
“We don’t have an exact toll, but the number of dead bodies recovered from various parts of the city by relief workers is well above 100,” said Kano state information commissioner Faruk Jubril.
“Bodies are still being recovered and taken to the morgue… but what is certain is that the number is well above 100,” he said.
Residents also reported bodies in the streets, as officials from emergency relief agencies worked to pick up the corpses.
“Between my house and the police headquarters along this street, I have counted 16 dead bodies that litter the streets, six of them policemen,” Naziru Muhammad, who lives near state police headquarters, said Saturday morning by phone.
One police source, who did not want to be named, said: “There are heavy casualties around the police headquarters.
“A lot of civilians have been shot by the attackers. It’s difficult to give a death toll, but the number of the dead runs into dozens.”

Unconfirmwed reports say young singer Dammy Krane has signed to Hypertek Records led by Tuface. Dammy Krane would be the first artiste signed to the label after the near-legendary singer parte ways with Wle ‘Natz’ Nathaniel.
During the course of the relationship with Natz, Tuface reportedly signed W4 and several others but the team packed up over many have said to be mismanagement. Tuface moved on to sign with Efe Omorogbe’s Now Muzik and ‘took a break’ from Hypertek ‘. Dammy Krane is 18 year old singer, related to rapper Sauce Kid. No details of the contract have been made available in any report. We await word from Hypertek and Tuface’s publicist on the report.

International supermodel Heidi Klum plans to divorce her husband of more than six years, British-Nigerian singer Seal, according to a report in TMZ.
Klum, 38, will reportedly file divorce papers early next week in Los Angeles County Superior Court, citing "irreconcilable differences.
The couple, who originally married in Mexico in May 2005, has three biological children: Henry Günther, 6, Johan Riley, 5, and Lou, 2.

Seal, 48, also adopted Heidi’s daughter named Leni from a previous relationship with Italian entrepreneur Flavio Briatore.

TMZ speculated that the divorce settlement will involve a huge amount of money. Citing a report from Forbes Magazine, Klum is believed to have earned $20-million last year alone. Seal’s earnings are not known.
Klum attended the Golden Globes award ceremonies last Sunday, without Seal in attendance.

The British newspaper The Daily Mail indicated that the couple was last seen together on December 27, when Klum tweeted a photo of herself and her husband in Aspen, Colorado.

The desire to reach out and help came from coming across so many young people who have lofty dreams of becoming music superstars. 4lah says: “Unfortunately, I observed that a lot of them fall under the pressure of trying to break into the industry and some get discouraged by the lack of acceptance and immediate success they hoped for, and so, let their dreams die.”
“Some in their desperation to be famous get involved in all sorts of shoddy arrangements without proper knowledge of how the industry works, and as a result, they get swindled and loose all faith.

The latest convert in the ministry is the United Kingdom returnee singer, Tiwa Savage. Tiwa Savage took a picture with a fan (shown
above), which was uploaded on twitter. When she retweeted the picture, another fan commented on it this way, “you no even fine. Nah only on top TV yo u dey fine.” This infuriated the ‘kelekele love’ crooner and offensively responded, “you are very stupid and senseless. Your face and heart is UGLY.”

RELATIONSHIP MATTERS: Therapy for the Broken Hearted

I think it is a little unfair to call someone a liar when they break your heart. With emotions running through high tension cables and sparks flying in every wrong direction, the route to vindictive is the easiest to take. When mugs and plates have been crashed across walls and each party is finally left to themselves the pregnant pauses and lines of thought set in.
First accusation usually goes like this- ‘You lied!’
Which is probably true except it is also likely to be a half truth as it is a confirmed by my personal dealings that in every relationship there is not only one liar but two and sometimes several others chipping in suggestions from the outside. And what do you say your ex partner lied about? That they would always love you? How about if I told you your heart lied to your brain that this was the truth? This applies to every other promise in the book such as ‘you’ll always be the one’ (which is not French for ‘I will settle for you despite the smooth entrance of a more convenient partner’). I have always heard that an angry man means sixty percent of what he says. Therefore by my own deductions, if my partner is not particularly upset I won’t take any promises made by him seriously. Human beings are not God, and last I checked those with super powers only exist in comic books, movies or once were human.
Second line of accusation ‘How could you throw all we had away?!’
The constant here is ‘had’ considering the reason for this outburst is all you thought you both had suddenly does not exist anymore. I liken this situation to giving away old clothes. When we give away our old stuff, it does not particularly mean we never cared about them. It just means we are creating room for better stuff. All you ‘had’ with this person might have been temporary or a permanent fixture that anyone could walk away from. If no commitment cemented on the grounds of marriage was reached, you didn’t have it all anyways.
Third accusation streams as ‘you wasted my time.’
This buttresses the number one lie. We all lie to people -even to ourselves. Was it a waste of time when as you kissed you envisioned your life and afterlife with this person? What if you were not breaking up and one of you died? Would it still be a waste of time? Is it realistic to expect that one human being has the power to constructively fill the gaps in your life given the chance? I believe this is a tantrum thrown out of an innate sense of incompleteness. Lesson being, grow into a complete individual on your own and never wait for another person to couple the broken pieces of your life.
And now the reason for this outburst is….
Boy met girl and girl liked boy. Several days passed and they basked in their new found attraction on facebook, twitter, bbm, skype and with several phone calls stretching for hours. Two weeks later boy invites girl over, girl hesitates but goes anyway. Two days later girl goes home. Boy says he had fun, girl says ‘me too’. All seems well then suddenly, boy stops picking calls and won’t read bb messages. Girl wonders if boy has been run over, arrested for DUI or is in trouble. Common sense says, boy has lost interest.
In conclusion,
Many times I have tried to mask disappointment from broken friendships and relationships with external attention given from people I have never met. This terrible trait is second to moving houses or towns to escape memories or situations I would rather tackle head on.
I don’t know if I will subscribe to another solution to my faltering choices but if blogging is as good therapy as they say, there might yet still be hope.

BREAKING NEWZ: Boko Haram Launch Fresh Attacks (bombs and gun fight) On Bauchi THis Morning

"We don't know where they came from. They attacked us with rocket launchers and other explosives," Barrister Bukata Zhadi, Secretary of the Sayawa Elders' Council told the press. Also many residents confirmed that they heard explosions and sounds of gunfire from different parts of the town, leading the chaos in many parts of the State.

Militant fighters said to be Boko Haram members attacked...
several towns in Bauchi State, including the city centre, on Sunday morning between 2am and 5am with all grades of ammunition and military weaponry.

Eyewitnesses said a police station in Tafawa Balewa and another military checkpoint in an area known as Marar Rabar Liman Katagun were attacked by Boko Haram gunmen.

The police commissioner in Bauchi State confirmed that a bomb exploded near a railway line in Bauchi Township. Another source said three explosions were heard near IBB Square and the Jahun area.

The CP said his men repelled the attackers in Tafawa Balewa area. He however could not give details of casualty as the attack was still on when he spoke to a media on phone.

Tension has grown in Bauchi township in recent times where another Islamic sect known as "JIBWIS" is having an annual conference. The BIBWIS sect, founded by late Sheik Jafar Mahmud Adams, is reportedly opposed to the doctrine of Boko Haram.

Nigerian quadruplets graduate from same UK university with masters degree, same day

Graduating from university is normally an occasion for a family get-together.
And this was certainly a big celebration for the Ogunsanya quadruplets who were handed their well-deserved degrees from the same university on the same day.
The 23-year-old quads, identical sisters and the oldest by four minutes, Toks and Temi Ogunsanya, and identical brothers, Tobi and Tolu, graduated from Warwick University with Master Degrees.
