Part of a strong movement known as JMW, Most Wanted in Jersey, it was this state that helped shape his sound while New York created his power. Growing up listening to tracks like “The Bridge is Over” and artists such as Eric B., Rakim, Kurtis Blow, DMX, and Run DMC, his musical career clearly started as a child in New York. Not only through listening but learning to play instruments like the piano.

Jay Griffy started writing music in high school as a hobby when his classes couldn’t keep his attention. Writing raps quickly led to cyphers in the hall and that lead to the beginning of him as an artist.
In 2009 he teamed up with Exponent Entertainment based in Philadelphia. This propelled Jay Griffy more into the Philly scene and soon collaborations with artists like DJ NoPhrillz, SAP the Producer, Tone Trump, Nico the Beast, MIZ, E.Ness, Smutty101 and more quickly developed.

It was not long before Jay Griffy was getting notoriety on-line and started catching the attention of artists on the West Coast like St. Laz. It quickly became apparent that Jay Griffy’s strength not only were in writing lyrics but assembling full tracks including strong hook writing and uncanny beat selection.
Then in 2010, Marlin Barrier head of the Sound Barrier Experience, a live multi-faceted band in Philadelphia, heard Jay Griffy. In a rare perfect moment, Jay Griffy got on stage with the Sound Barrier experience and it was of no surprise that Barrier asked Jay Griffy to stay as part of the band.

Now not only sought after to perform, producers and labels have been reaching out to Jay Griffy for his natural song writing ability and keen music knowledge. Soon everyone will get to see the complete package in his upcoming mixtapes “Rising of the Don” and “HitTape Volume 1”. Simply put it is a based on real concepts and filled with a new cross breed of music. Also coming this year is the Sound Barrier Experience featuring Jay Griffy.

Singer-songwriter Alicia Keys has been chosen by business magazine, FAST COMPANY to join a handful of other women that make up “The League of Extraordinary Women: 60 Influencers Who Are Changing The World.”

In the July/August issue, the Keep A Child Alive co-founder is acknowledged for her philanthropic efforts towards the fight against AIDS, through the provision of medicine, clinics and contraceptives to girls and women in the countries of Kenya, Rwanda and Uganda.

“I started meeting these kids who had been so isolated and alone, and not much younger than me,” says Keys, who is now 31. “It was so deep to me. Leigh [Blake] had a very clear vision, that if we could get these kids the right antiretroviral medication, we could allow them to lead a full life,” she says. “I dedicated myself to that vision right then.”

“When I think of these crazy stories of women in certain countries who are forbidden birth control or protection of any sort,” she says, sighing, “these married women concerned that their husbands have the virus . . . it works out in the worst way for them.” But Keys does what she can to help them avoid that fate: “A year and a half ago,” she remembers, “we did these digital deaths.” [SOURCE]

According to TMZ reports:

Chuck Norris believes gay people have NO PLACE in the Boy Scouts of America … and claims plans to overturn the “century-old policy” to ban them is simply un-American.

Chuck — an outspoken Republican political activist — just penned an article for AmmoLand.com … titled, “Is Obama Creating a Pro-Gay Boy Scouts of America?”

In the article, Norris attacks James Turley — a high ranking BSA official who recently announced his plan to “seek a change” to a Boy Scouts policy that bans gay Scouts and gay Scout leaders.

72-year-old Norris suggests Turley is only championing the cause because he’s trying to curry favor with Obama’s “pro-gay” administration.

Norris talks about the Boy Scouts as epitomizing the best of America. The insinuation … that gays don’t.

So gays are un-American? With all the gay TV, movies, and magazine covers we sure can’t tell…
