New Open Text Social Media Software Enables Enterprises to Connect People, Process and Content over Web, Mobile Devices

Enterprise 2.0 Conference, Boston, Mass. – June 23, 2009 – Open Text™ (NASDAQ: OTEX, TSX: OTC), a global leader in Enterprise Content Management (ECM), today announced another major part of its Enterprise 2.0 strategy with a new software offering, Open Text Social Media, the latest addition to the Open Text ECM Suite. The solution offers a natural and intuitive social media application that gives people new ways of working productively together through the Web and mobile devices, while also meeting security and compliance demands by being integrated with a company’s wider ECM system.

Traditional tools such as email are ill-suited for the task of connecting people in social networks, leading many employees to embrace consumer-oriented social media technologies, with or without corporate approval. While these tools can boost productivity, their use leads to concerns around security, intellectual property protection, knowledge preservation and compliance. Open Text Social Media, for the first time, gives organizations a way to address these concerns by marrying social media technology to an enterprise-ready content management infrastructure. The new solution adds to Open Text’s collaboration products offered in the Open Text ECM Suite, providing a combination of document centric collaboration solutions and a new solution that connects people to people to content in social networks designed for the enterprise.

Open Text Social Media also meets the demands of today’s increasingly mobile knowledge workers who demand mobile solutions that enable them to access key corporate systems. For social media solutions to be truly successful they need to provide a rich mobile experience. Open Text Social Media provides this with native mobile applications for Apple iPhone and RIM BlackBerry devices initially, with additional device support planned.

“A virtual and mobile workforce and the explosion of user-generated content have created a demand for a new model for enterprise collaboration. Open Text Social Media builds on social media applications to deliver a secure online environment where employees, customers, and partners can meet, share, network, and experience the power of collective knowledge,” said John Myers, General Manager, Social Media at Open Text. “This new component of the Open Text ECM Suite enables organizations to benefit from these new ways of working together within the overall context of the organization’s records and content management strategy.”

“Like most federal government departments, we are very email centric and keeping people up to speed involves sending project updates and supporting documents to already overloaded inboxes,” said Art Monette of Canada’s Federal Judicial Affairs, one of the organizations beta testing the solution. “Open Text Social Media offers us central project sites with user profiles, discussion feeds, documents and wikis – everything in one place to keep everyone up to date. This alone is a huge timesaver. The ability to set up user profiles with photos and background information makes a big difference in helping people from cross-functional teams in different locations to work better together.”

Enterprise Readiness

Organizations are facing ever-increasing regulatory and legal requirements that are driving demand for records management, archiving, and discovery solutions for electronic content such as email and documents. Open Text is a world leader in this area, and by integrating its new social media offering with the powerful content services of the Open Text ECM Suite, organizations can now effectively manage communications such as discussions, blogs, and wikis with the same set of security, compliance, and archiving policies that they use to manage email and other content today. Advanced security mechanisms make it easy to manage who has access to information and even enable content to be safely shared beyond the firewall to include customers, partners and suppliers.

Consistently Easy to Use

When it comes to rolling out social media applications internally, organizations have turned to one-off or point solutions. Over time, this leads to a costly and confusing proliferation of applications and user interfaces. Open Text Social Media, by contrast, gives customers a consistent and integrated user interface. This means, for example, that useful information such as online status, user pictures and profiles are always available regardless of context (in a wiki, in a discussion, documents area etc.) This consistency lowers deployment and maintenance costs, improves user adoption and reduces training requirements. Key features of Open Text Social Media include:

· Personal Dashboard – Gives users a quick overview of communities, “My People,” My Watches” and other pending and status details.

· Communities – Provides a virtual space where a group of people can work together electronically by sharing ideas, opinions, and information through discussions, document sharing, and wikis.

· Profiles – Lets users create/edit their profiles, add a photo, update their status, and view other people’s profiles. Mini-profiles are generated automatically, allowing zero-click contextual display of a user’s name, photo, contact information and presence status.

· Blogs and Microblogs – Users can publish a personal blog with their profiles. Users can create, edit and delete their own blog postings, and view and comment on other people’s blogs.

· Wikis – The Wiki tab within a community provides a simple WYSIWYG wiki system. Page linking is supported and an automatic navigation pane expands as new pages are created. Users can edit, comment, view past versions, email out, tag and watch wiki pages.

· Social Search – Fast search delivers relevant content, people, and communities in parallel and displays relevancy-ranked results, while fully respecting permissions. Real-time indexing ensures immediate search results and handles all community data as well as many common file types.

· Mobility – Users can access community information from smart handheld devices such as BlackBerry and iPhone.

Availability and Further Information

Open Text Social Media will be generally available in July, 2009.

Great Britain says no to social media being taught in schools, but yes to adoption in business

71% of GB workers feel that teaching social media technologies such as Twitter and blogging in schools is inappropriate, according to a survey of almost 2000 GB adults conducted by YouGov on behalf of Open Text. However, social media in business is flourishing with almost a third of the respondents saying they use some form of social media tool in the workplace.

When it comes to social media in business, just 15% of respondents who used the technology saw it as a negative influence almost a third thought that it was a good thing, 56% were neutral, thinking it is neither a good nor a bad thing with the remaining 1% undecided.

Craig Hepburn, Director of Social Media Strategy for Open Text, said: “The survey results reflect the change in culture we have been seeing for the past two to three years. People have started to rely on Facebook, Twitter YouTube and MySpace as social communication tools and they now want access to this form of communication in their work environment for business use too. This growing demand for social media and other Web 2.0 technologies is a direct reflection of how people have changed the way they communicate.”

“However, what is clear from these findings is that while people are happy to use social media applications in the working environment, they are unhappy about them being taught in school. These tools however could well be the future of business, you only have to look at the growth of business social media site LinkedIn - which now has over 40 million members* - to see the importance of these applications and the fact they will play a big part in future generations’ personal and professional lives.”

While some might have seen social media in the past as a disruption in the workplace, 20% of the survey respondents agreed or strongly agreed that a corporate Facebook would be better than their existing platform for sharing information and collaborating on projects at work with customers, colleagues and partners. Furthermore 6% have admitted that they’d go as far as not taking a job if social media tools were not made available to them.

Unsurprisingly, the majority of respondents who saw positives in social media in the workplace were in the age groups 18-24 and 25-34 or to put it another way, Generation Y. A similar pattern occurred in the question regarding Twitter in schools with the 25-34 year olds showing the most positive support for it. This reflects that they are seeing the positive impact on business and feel the need for these to be highlighted to the younger generation.

“What this shows is that UK businesses need to start adapting their processes and solutions to better suit the Facebook generation and future UK workforce. With more than 1 billion pieces of content including photos, web links and news stories being shared each week on Facebook**, organisations need to understand that the future of content creation and sharing is going to be very different. What was initially seen as a pass time for teenagers to share pictures and content is fast becoming the key to real time communication, whether it is business or social.”

“We are seeing a new world of connected people and content where developing the social workplace and social marketplace will be key to success. What this represents is a fundamental change in the way we communicate, interact and learn, and organisations need to be marching to the social media beat,” Craig Hepburn of Open Text concluded.

Other stats that might be of interest

• 50% of the UK workforce are banned from using social media in the workplace
• Employees in Scotland and Wales were banned the most from using social media at work
• Employees in London were allowed to use social media at work the most
• Londoners were the most likely not to take a job if social networking wasn’t available and the Welsh were the least

*  www.linkedin.com/

About Open Text
Open Text, an enterprise software company and leader in enterprise content management, helps organizations manage and gain the true value of their business content.
Vignette will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Open Text

Waterloo, ON and Austin, TX, - Open Text™
Corporation (NASDAQ:OTEX) (TSX: OTC), a global leader in Enterprise
Content Management (ECM) software, and Vignette Corporation
(NASDAQ:VIGN), the company that the world's leading brands rely on for
innovative and dynamic web experiences, today announced that they have
entered into a definitive agreement pursuant to which Vignette will
become a wholly owned subsidiary of Open Text.

Vignette
shareholders will receive US $8.00 in cash plus 0.1447 of an Open Text
common share for every Vignette common share which equates to
approximately US $12.70 at close of market on May 5, 2009. This
represents a premium of approximately 74% above the 30 trading day
average closing price of Vignette's shares and approximately 41% above
the most recent closing price. This values the transaction at
approximately US $310 million.

John
Shackleton, President and Chief Executive Officer of Open Text, stated
"The combination of Vignette with Open Text will extend the breadth of
our offerings and further Open Text's positioning as the leading
independent ECM vendor in the marketplace."

"Vignette's customers represent some of the world's most powerful
online brands and we are excited about the opportunity to expand the
relationship with these customers and partners," said Shackleton.

"After a thorough evaluation of strategic and financial alternatives,
the Vignette Board of Directors believes that today's announcement
provides attractive value for our shareholders," said Mike Aviles,
President and Chief Executive Officer of Vignette. "Our shareholders,
customers, partners and employees will all benefit as Vignette combines
with Open Text."

"Joining
Open Text builds on our commitment to deliver the most innovative
solutions for our customers and partners. Vignette has an enviable
customer base, deep expertise in Web Content Management (WCM) and
global distribution capabilities. Vignette customers will benefit from
Open Text's expanded ECM solutions portfolio as well as their Vignette
products being supported by the world's largest independent ECM
solutions provider," said Aviles.

Vignette is
based in Austin, Texas, and has approximately 700 employees. The
transaction is expected to close in the second half of calendar 2009
and is subject to customary closing conditions, including approval by
Vignette's shareholders, Hart-Scott-Rodino anti-trust clearance,
Securities and Exchange Commission clearance and stock exchange
approvals.

With Twitter and Blogging Now Proposed to be Taught In Schools, Are Businesses Ready for a New Generation of “Social” Workers?

Yesterday’s announcement that The Government plans to teach Twitter and blogs in primary schools may have been a shock to many. But for Open Text, a leading provider of enterprise content management software, the bigger question is, are British businesses ready for a new generation of social computing-savvy workers? Last year Open Text committed $10 million to create a centre for Digital Media research at the University of Waterloo’s Stratford Institute in Ontario to spur innovation in 2.0 and digital media in a new generation of business leaders.

Craig Hepburn of Open Text commented “This announcement reinforces the fact that social content platforms such as Twitter and blogs are far from being just a fad. With the UK Government now looking to make it part of the national curriculum businesses should be following suit. Blogging is no longer only a social tool it’s a business tool and the fact that it’s about to be taught alongside Math and Physics reinforces this.”

Last year Open Text conducted a customer survey that found that 57% of UK employers are seeing a growing trend of new graduate employees expecting to use social networking tools at work. Only 11% stated they didn’t see a trend. With a further 32% saying they weren’t seeing it currently, but expected to see an increase in demand for web 2.0 technologies in the near future.

“What this proves is that UK businesses need to start adapting their business processes and solutions to better suit the Twitter generation. Just like twenty years ago when no one believed we’d sit in front of screens all day typing, organisations need to understand that the future is going to be very different. What was initially seen as a past time for teenagers to share pictures and content is fast becoming the key to communication, whether it is business or social. We are seeing a new world of connected people and content where developing the social workplace and social marketplace will be key to success. What this represents is a fundamental change in the way we communicate, interact and learn and organisations need to be following Sir Jim Rose’s lead and start marching to the Twitter beat,” Craig Hepburn of Open Text concluded.

About Open Text

Open Text, an enterprise software company and leader in enterprise content management, helps organizations manage and gain the true value of their business content.

Open Text™ Corporation (NASDAQ: OTEX, TSX: OTC), a global leader in enterprise content management (ECM), announced today that it has teamed up with Fuse Digital to deliver the latest web solutions to Fuse client the GSMA, the global trade association representing mobile phone operators and manufacturers.

The GSMA approached Fuse Digital, one of the UK’s leading digital marketing agencies, to improve its public image online and move to a more scalable and functional website. Previously the GSMA site was hard to manage, it was reliant on code and exporting content which was inefficient and time consuming.

The GSMA wanted Fuse to provide the creative input surrounding the site and focus on the brand and online image. Fuse selected the Open Text Web Solution to deliver the functionality behind the scenes.

Jonathan Pickles, Projects Director, Fuse Digital commented: “The GSMA came to us looking to improve its online image, we specialise in creative digital marketing campaigns, so from an aesthetics and ideas perspective we are able to deliver the most cutting edge and engaging design. However, the GSMA also wanted a web platform that could be easily managed, deal with specific workflow requests and offer enterprise level features in multilingual formats.”

Due to the nature of the site and the enterprise level features the GSMA required, Fuse looked to Open Text, to deliver the high level framework required. Open Text Web Solutions enabled the GSMA to take complete control of all online output and messaging, which in turn streamlined workflow processes, and increased efficiency, productivity and value for money. Furthermore, the new functionality will enable the organisation to deliver content in a variety of languages to a worldwide audience. This was critical to the organisation as it has over 750 GSM mobile phone operators and over 200 manufacturers and suppliers worldwide.

Jonathan concluded: “Open Text has been great throughout the whole process, its support teams have always been there to help and it has delivered a first class service. The solution itself has allowed us to combine our creative talents with Open Text’s technical abilities and deliver a really innovative site to the GSMA.”

Andy Bellinger, Country Manager for Open Text Web Solutions in the UK said: “We are delighted that Fuse has chosen Open Text as its preferred Web Content Management partner and we hope that through this partnership it can continue to offer a high level of creative and technically advanced websites to its clients.”

Available to customers now, this new release offers a number of additional enhancements to what is already a core strength of Open Text Web Solutions: Helping customers translate, manage and synchronize multiple websites worldwide. Web Solutions is an integral component of the Open Text ECM Suite, the industry’s most comprehensive suite of content services used by tens of thousands of organizations worldwide.

The enhanced functionality is part of a complete solution called Open Text Web Solutions for Multi-Sites that gives customers everything they need to develop a global Web presence. It helps large enterprises to more efficiently share corporate information, leverage existing translation memory tools such as Across Systems® or SDL TRADOS®, and to personalize the user experience. For small and mid-size businesses, it provides a simple and cost-effective tool for expanding globally.

The challenge of managing global websites across many markets is growing as companies work to establish their brands across many diverse markets in an increasingly competitive global arena. Customer communication in a local language is growing in importance in marketing and sales, and is critical for companies trying to expand in key markets. Websites are a critical part of this equation but many organizations are overwhelmed by the processes involved in managing multiple sites across many countries.

“The challenges of building an effective Web presence across diverse markets around the world are greater than ever, as user expectations become increasingly sophisticated,” said Daniel Kraft, Senior Vice President, Corporate Strategy at Open Text. “With the latest release, we’ve made it easy to share and distribute content on a global basis to ensure consistent branding, and to attract and engage visitors in their native language on a site that is personalized to reflect their culture and needs.”

For organizations with a global presence, Web Solutions for Multi-Sites adds new content distribution services that make it easy for Web localization teams to share and update content via a centralized content pool. Team members are automatically notified when content changes or updates become available. Once localized content is added to this pool all countries that use the same language can use this content for their local websites. A new Content Translation Management module offers translation workflow integration, expanded support for computer-aided translation tools, and export to standardized XLIFF formats. XLIFF, which stands for XML Localization Interchange File Format, streamlines the exchange of localization data among companies, vendors and across software tools.

Phoenix Contact GmbH & Co. With just a few mouse clicks the language can be selected and the translation process started.

More than half of UK employers are seeing a growing trend of new employees and graduates wanting and expecting to use social networking at work, according to a survey conducted by Open Text’s Web Solutions Group.

The recent customer survey found that when it came to recruiting new staff, only 11% of respondents said they didn’t see a trend and 32% said they weren’t seeing it currently, but expected to see an increase in demand for web 2.0 technologies in the near future.

Andy Bellinger, Country Manager for Open Text’s Web Solutions Group in the UK, said: “The above figures reflect the change in culture we have been seeing for the past two to three years. Students grew up using Facebook and now as they move into the workplace they want to be able to communicate using the tools that they have become accustomed to. This growing demand for the likes of Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and other web 2.0 technologies is a direct reflection of how people have changed the way they communicate.”

Further findings have shown that although many see Facebook as a hindrance to business, 61% of respondents felt that web 2.0 tools could realistically be used to benefit the enterprise. When asked whether or not they were allowed to use Facebook at work 46% said they were, 31% stated they could, but only at certain times and a surprisingly low amount of 23% said they couldn’t use the application at all.

Bellinger concluded: “What the above figures have shown is that organisations are starting to realise the benefits of web 2.0 and how they can use the likes of Facebook to benefit their business and help employees communicate better within the organisation and to their customers. As the web generation grows up and moves into the workforce, businesses need to be ready to offer the communication tools they expect. The days of the company newsletter are gone, the company Facebook is in.”

Open Text’s Web Solutions Group, with more than a decade of experience in leading Web Content Management (WCM) software, provides web solutions to create, manage and deliver the content that drives business.

Companies Demonstrate Innovative, Creative and Successful Approach to Enterprise Content Management

Chicago, IL – December 18, 2008 - Open Text (NASDAQ: OTEX, TSX: OTC), a global leader in enterprise content management (ECM), today announced Hasbro, Halliburton, Northrop Grumman, The Supreme Court of the Netherlands, GM Europe, and Bruce Power as the winners of its 2008 GlobalStar Enterprise Awards. The awards were handed out at the company’s recent Open Text Content World conference. Transport Canada, Fonterra Co-operative Group, HOVENSA, and Multiquip were presented with first runner-up awards.

The GlobalStar Enterprise Awards are presented annually to recognize customers from around the world for their outstanding efforts in deriving business value from innovative and successful ECM deployments. To determine the finalists for the GlobalStar Enterprise Awards, each entry is based on scope, business value, end-user benefits, innovation, functionality, and business problem solving ability.

The award categories are designed to coincide with the primary business values of the Open Text ECM Suite: Control, Empower, Agility, and Experience. The Open Text ECM Suite enables customers to control the risk and cost related to their content, empower people and effective decision-making, provide business agility and innovation, and deliver solutions using a compelling experience for end-users. Additionally, the Ground-Breaking Award recognizes the most innovative solution and the Overall Strategic Success Award to the organization best exemplifying the orchestration of people, process, and content.

"This year’s GlobalStar Enterprise Award winners are outstanding examples of organizations that are using ECM to bring real business value to their internal and external customers,” said Open Text President and Chief Executive Officer John Shackleton. “Open Text's ECM solutions are customized to help organizations across all industry sectors meet their business, compliance, and return on investment goals. The winners demonstrate innovative, creative and successful approaches to their ECM implementations."

Overall Strategic Success Award Winner:

Hasbro: Hasbro has evolved its ECM ecosystem to include Digital Asset Management, Records Management, Email Management and Archiving, Vendor Invoice Management and Web Content Management, SharePoint integration, and Archiving all from Open Text. Hasbro’s ECM deployment involves virtually every department and location across Hasbro. With the passing of the Sarbanes Oxley Act, ECM and Open Text became mainstream at Hasbro, and with the changes to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, have brought a new focus to email archiving and records management initiatives. For a brand-driven company like Hasbro, Marketing Asset Management is critical to manage and share intellectual properties with sales and marketing teams.

GlobalStar Enterprise Award – Control:

Winner - Halliburton: Halliburton has created a common-sense approach to email management that can be used by any company, regardless of its specialty. Halliburton’s E-mail Management system allows employees to protect and save their business records for the retention period required by law, while allowing the Records and Information Management team to follow the entire lifecycle of the business record contained in email. All 55,000 employees of Halliburton and its subsidiaries will be placed on Halliburton’s new Email Management System.

Runner-Up - Transport Canada: With over 4 million records and 5,200 users at over 117 sites, Transport Canada’s RDIMS (Records, Document, Information Management System) is the largest single library deployment in the Canadian Public Sector. As the result of ECM, eDiscovery and other legal queries are more efficient, less costly and more successful in litigation defense. Productivity savings based on search and retrieval times have more than tripled to $4.6 million for the last fiscal year, and continue to grow.

GlobalStar Enterprise Award – Empower:

Winner - Northrop Grumman Corporation: Northrop Grumman has deployed Open Text across seven sectors in the Northrop Grumman organization and now has an active license base of more than 50,000 users. Northrop Grumman realizes value from ECM by managing critical intellectual capital, and sharing that information electronically with customers, partners and suppliers. The shared information platform called ‘ShareCentre’ provides support for knowledge and business process management.

Runner-Up - Fonterra Co-operative Group: Fonterra implemented its strategic ECM solution to create a single repository for managing all policies and procedures, making them readily accessible to all staff – some 10,000 users across the globe.

GlobalStar Enterprise Award – Agility:

Winner - The Supreme Court of the Netherlands: The Supreme Court of the Netherlands developed and introduced the new ‘C@sus’ document and file management system, created for the integrated scientific, administrative and technological support of the members of the Supreme Court and Attorney-General’s Office. The C@sus system consists of four Open Text modules for Document Management, Records Management, Business Intelligence, and Knowledge Management that are integrated with 11 different applications including an intelligent letter book, an electronic signature application, intelligent capture and exchange solutions. The C@sus project/system offers an integral solution for all aspects of the digital document file and case management and provides a solid base for the development of knowledge management and the reuse of information.

Runner-Up: HOVENSA: In the past year, HOVENSA implemented the Open Text ECM Suite; worked with Open Text and Gateway Consulting Group to develop and deploy the OSHA Plant Compliance MOC and Incident module; implemented Records Management; transferred the paper and digital CAD library to the system; and began managing departmental documents in the system. Also, the Communities of Practice component is being used for the EDM Project team, for project related FAQs, training materials, and blogs. As a result of these efforts, document access and retrieval time has improved significantly; project costs have been reduced; and the Plant Compliance module has resulted in a reduction of processing time and greater productivity of the professional staff.

GlobalStar Enterprise Award – Experience:

Winner - GM Europe: GM Europe uses Open Text for transactional content processing, linked with its CRM and SAP environments, and backstopped by Open Text archiving. The application is running in its vendor portal and is provided to about 5,000 active OEM suppliers who deliver material to their production plants in Europe. This business organization project began with the need to reduce the volume of enquiries received by the Financial Shared Service Centre support staff with a goal of introducing a self-service approach. With the vendor portal, suppliers not only see self-billed invoices, but also have access to both a self-service Web interface to view their own financial data, and an improved customer service support capability to reduce the amount of effort required to answer their questions.

Runner-Up – Multiquip: A manufacturer and distributor of construction equipment globally, Multiquip is deploying Open Text’s Web content management solutions. Multiquip has also completed an application portal with a custom SAP connector that integrated required structured information. The additional benefits of workflow, collaboration, and having documents published to the right people at the right time will pay off in further efficiencies and control. Additionally, because of better user experience, products go to market 20% faster, call center activity has reduced 30% and customer satisfaction is up as real time tracking information is available to them as a result of the real time reporting.

Ground-Breaking Award Winner:

Bruce Power: Bruce Power is Canada’s first private nuclear generating company and the source of more than 20% of Ontario’s electricity. Bruce Power uses Ventyx Passport as its Enterprise Asset Management System to manage all plant work, materials, engineering change management, supply chain, action tracking and document management. The Open Text Document Management application is integrated with Ventyx PassPort – Plant Maintenance for managing controlled and non-controlled documents for asset management. The Open Text system is the central content management application to manage all asset documents and work related records. Bruce Power is the first Utility/Nuclear facility to integrate Open Text with Ventyx PassPort.

Open Text™ Corporation (NASDAQ: OTEX, TSX: OTC), a global leader in enterprise content management (ECM), announced today that Graduate Prospects, the UK's leading provider of information, advice and opportunities to students and graduates, has teamed up with Open Text’s Web Solutions Group , to deliver the latest web technologies to its website Prospects.ac.uk, the UK’s biggest and busiest graduate careers website.

Previously Graduate Prospects published and managed its web content via a home-grown publishing tool. The absence of built-in workflow processes to ensure accuracy of published content meant there was a heavy reliance on IT staff resource. The Open Text Web Solution allows employees from across the company to create, edit and approve web content before it goes live on the website. The marketing department is now able to take complete control of all online output and messaging, which in turn has streamlined workflow processes, and increased efficiency, productivity and value for the money spent.

Margaret Collister, Graduate Prospects’ Content Manager, commented: “The content of the website is our most valuable asset. By focusing on content management and with the help of Open Text we have been able to deliver topical, timely and accurate information to improve ‘stickiness’ and raise customer conversion rates. Since the implementation we have seen a significant decrease in the reliance on key IT staff, we now have a ready built system that allows us to focus on our core business, better utilise our staff skills and most importantly we have been able to improve efficiencies within our editorial teams.”

Andy Bellinger, Country Manager for the Open Text Web Solutions Group in the UK said: “We are delighted that Graduate Prospects has chosen Open Text as its preferred Web Content Management partner. Companies are increasingly looking for rapid, affordable and dynamic ways of delivering corporate communications and messaging across their websites and we are confident that the new system will immediately transform the way Graduate Prospects does business."

Notes to editors

Open Text’s Web Solutions Group

Open Text’s Web Solutions Group, with more than a decade of experience in leading Web Content Management (WCM) software, provides web solutions to create, manage and deliver the content that drives business.

Open Text Web Solutions Group presented Save the Children with its international award for best customer project during RedDot Days in Frankfurt 28th-29th October. The award has been given for Save The Children’s Kroo Bay website, www.savethechildren.org.uk/kroobay, which uses the Web Content Manager and Asset Manager modules from the Open Text Web Solution powered by RedDot. The site was launched to give UK families an in-depth, interactive experience by enabling them to connect directly with a slum community in Sierra Leone, to engage people with Save the Children’s wider campaign, and to raise £100,000 to help transform the slum.

Save the Children developed the initial concept in-house and the site was built by brand and digital media consultancy, Rufus Leonard with additional development from Open Text’s Web Solutions Group.

Kroo Bay is, according to Save the Children, ‘one of the toughest places in the world for a child to survive’. One in four children die there before their fifth birthday. 'This is Kroo Bay' gives users a chance to get to know the residents of Kroo Bay, explore their community and see changes as they happen. Save the Children has been working with the community to prevent flooding (that carries water-borne diseases) and to rebuild the local health centre.

Rosie Shannon of Save the Children commented, “Traffic to the website since our launch on 18 February is over 83,000, beating our target of 60,000. The success of the site has been driven largely by PR and word of mouth. During a recent marketing campaign in the run up to the G8 we had more than 12,000 visitors in just one day. The site’s ease of use and bold, innovative design have contributed greatly to its success.”

Andy Bellinger, UK General Manager, Open Text Web Solutions Group, commented: “It is great to present this award to such a deserving organisation. Save The Children have worked exceptionally hard on this project and this award really recognises their efforts”.

Open Text™ Corporation (NASDAQ: OTEX, TSX: OTC), a global leader in enterprise content management (ECM), announced today that Baxi Group, one of Europe's biggest manufacturers of domestic and commercial water and space heating systems, has teamed up with Freestyle Interactive and Open Text’s Web Solutions Group RedDot, to launch new websites for its Baxi brand in the UK and Italy.

The Open Text web content management system allows employees from across the company to create, edit and approve web content before it goes live on the website. Baxi Group’s marketing departments are now able to take complete control of all online output and messaging, which will reduce the cost and time associated with outsourcing web management to third-party agencies.

Baxi Group worked closely with RedDot, Open Text’s Web Solutions Group, a dedicated team of web solution experts, and Open Text business partner Freestyle Interactive, which helped with the design, build, hosting and implementation of the new website, incorporating the latest web technologies from Open Text.

Luke Vanhegan, Group IT Development Manager at Baxi Group, said: “For a brand-led organization like Baxi Group, our online offering needs to accurately reflect our visions and corporate identity. The new-look website will not only enhance the way our organization communicates with consumers, installers, suppliers and specifiers, but will also dramatically change the way we approach managing our online content.”

He continued: “Using Freestyle to design and execute the websites in the Open Text environment has worked very well for us. Our partnership with Freestyle and Open Text will enable us to develop our online strategy in greater depth across the Group.”

Andy Bellinger, Country Manager for RedDot in the UK commented: “We are delighted that Baxi Group has chosen Open Text’s RedDot as its preferred web content management partner. Companies are increasingly looking for rapid, affordable and dynamic ways of delivering their corporate communications and messaging across their global websites and we are confident that the new system will immediately transform the way Baxi Group does business.”

Reynolds Porter Chamberlain (RPC) fought off tough competition to win the Technology Award at the 28th Annual British Insurance Awards held at The Royal Albert Hall on the 9th July 2008. RPC was recognised for its innovative ReWord extranet, which provides a secure portal of expert advice and information on policy wordings for reinsurance companies. The site is based on a Web content management solution from the RedDot Web Solutions Group at Open Text, a global leader in enterprise content management (ECM).

RPC was up against some of the leading market players to win the award, including Alphatec and Fortis UK/Text2Insure. The Technology award recognises information and communications technology that has enhanced the quality, efficiency and cost-effectiveness of an insurer, intermediary, loss adjuster or service provider.

Julie Berry, IT Director at RPC commented: “Client service is at the heart of everything we do, so it’s really important for us to work with suppliers who can get to grips with our strong client service ethos. When we look for suppliers we’re not just looking at the technical solution; we’re looking at the people we’ll be working with. Our working relationship with RedDot was second to none.”

RPC decided to implement the solution following the new Financial Services Authority (FSA) directive surrounding the issue of contract certainty for the insurance market. RPC recognised the need to introduce a solution to help its clients improve their business efficiency with a database of wordings used in their contracts. The selection of RedDot’s CMS and LiveServer Content Management software helped meet RPC’s objectives of providing quick and easy access to a fully categorised listing of clauses and wordings for its external clients.

Daniel Kraft, President of RedDot, the Open Text Web Solutions Group, commented: “It is great to be recognised for all of our hard work. The team has done exceptionally well and this award has really rewarded their efforts and confirmed RedDot as a truly innovative web solutions provider. Reynolds Porter Chamberlain, and Julie Berry especially, have been a great customer to work with - very open minded and creative.”

Since the extranet went live in January 2007, it has become an outstanding success for RPC and for the reinsurers using it. Figures show that 20 of the world’s largest reinsurers have signed up for the service, more than 200 individual users are benefiting from its services while many more are trialling it

Julie concluded: “RedDot understands its product management inside out, and has delivered on 100% of the promises made during the consultation stage. This award further reflects RedDot’s and RPC’s commitment to their clients and the exemplary products and services they offer.”
