Join SPEC Special Events as we THROWBACK TO THE 90′s with FREE shutter shades, food, and old-school candy. Get jiggy with The Bachelor Boys, a local cover band that knows how to keep the crowd rocking. Activities will include Dance Dance Revolution, Guitar Hero, an inflatable Twister, a green screen photo booth, and 90s Trivia! Take part in the fun and you can get a fresh SPEC tank top. Film synopsis: An operative for an elite private intelligence firm finds her priorities irrevocably changed after she is tasked with infiltrating an anarchist group known for executing covert attacks upon major corporations.

SPEC is excited to announce that Saturday Night Live’s Vanessa Bayer and Kate McKinnon, along with Comedy Central’s Nick Vatterott will host an evening of stand-up and improv comedy.

The event will take place in Harrison Auditorium on Wednesday, March 27th at 8:00pm. Tickets for Penn students will be on sale for $5 in advance, and $10 at the door.

Vanessa Bayer is returning for her third season of SNL. Bayer burst onto the scene during her debut season with her impersonation of Miley Cyrus in the wildly popular sketch, “The Miley Cyrus Show.” Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Bayer received her degree from Penn in 2004.  While in college, she interned at “Sesame Street” and “Late Night with Conan O’Brien” and was a member of “Bloomers.”

Kate McKinnon is returning for SNL’s 38th season, having joined the cast in April 2012. She has stood out for her notable impressions of actress Penelope Cruz and Bravo personality Tabatha Coffey. Prior to SNL, McKinnon performed with numerous Harold and Maude Teams at New York’s Upright Citizens’ Brigade Theatre. McKinnon studied Theatre at Columbia University, and was a member of Logo’s “Big Gay Sketch Show” cast for all three seasons of its run.

Nick Vatterott has performed on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and Conan, has a half-hour stand-up special on Comedy Central and is an actor/producer on Comedy Central’s new series Mash Up. Nick has toured with Chicago’s storied Second City and his sketch group ‘Heavyweight’ has performed at Second City’s Unhinged and the Toronto Just for Laughs Festival. Chicago Magazine listed Nick as “The Funniest Man in Chicago.”
