Gain Space By Removing The Maximized Windows Titlebar [Linux w/ Compiz or Maximus]

If you ever used Google Chrome - and you must have -, then you might have noticed how much vertical space you can gain by removing the window title bar. Yes Google Chrome has a titlebar, but as an extent of the tabs, so that's not conventional titlebar.

This can be very useful for a laptop, netbook and so on as you will gain a lot more usable space, but believe me, you will also notice the extra space on a normal desktop monitor.

You turn on your trusty old Linux box, and things are going well as you pass through the boot loader, until the disk check reveals that your hard drive partition table is corrupt, and you are unable to access your machine. You need a good rescue disk — and the best way to get one is to create your own.

Install Wallpaper Clocks In Ubuntu Linux

Wallpaper Clocks can be used to display various wallpapers with a real-time working clock blended into the wallpaper. Basically, the website to which I linked doesn't provide an application for it, but there are several apps which can make use of the Wallpaper Clocks provided by that website. However, the applications are not free - for Windows that is - for Linux, you can use a Screenlet which is obviously free and well, that's all you have to do. So here's how to do it.

Even though we will use Screenlets for this, the actual wallpaper won't be a screenlet, but a normal wallpaper which changes every minute or day (depending on the wallpaper you choose).

Well, it seems I'm starting to learn lots of languages (actually using Google Translate). Yesterday, I translated a script to install Hamachi in Ubuntu, and today, here is yet another script (translated from Polish), which should help a lot of new Ubuntu users.

Install Hamachi + GUI In Linux, Using A Script

Hamachi is a zero-configuration virtual private network (VPN) application capable of establishing direct links between computers that are behind NAT firewalls without requiring reconfiguration (in most cases); in other words, it establishes a connection over the Internet that very closely emulates the connection that would exist if the computers were connected over a local area network.

Installing Hamachi in Linux is not that easy. Well, it is but it's a lot easier using a script for it, which will also allow you to install a GUI (graphical user interface) for Hamachi. Actually, you can choose from 2 GUIs.
