<description>&lt;p&gt;The University will award the Benton Medal for Distinguished Public Service to historian and activist Timuel Black and the Jesse L. Rosenberger Medal for Outstanding Achievement in the Creative and Performing Arts to Anne Bogart, avant-garde theater director and theorist, on Saturday, June 9 at &lt;a href="https://convocation.sites.uchicago.edu/page/spring-info"&gt;UChicago&amp;rsquo;s 511th Convocation&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;

	Rand, 22, of Chevy Chase, Md., is majoring in &lt;a href="https://collegeadmissions.uchicago.edu/academics/majorsminors/hips.shtml"&gt;HIPS&lt;/a&gt; (History, Philosophy, and Social Studies of Science and Medicine) and minoring in art history at the University of Chicago.&lt;/p&gt;

  <title>Morgan Buerkett, rising second-year in College, 1992-2011</title>
<description>&lt;p&gt;
	Morgan Buerkett, a rising second-year in the College, died Sunday, July 24 in a private plane crash. She was 19.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;
	Her parents, Jon and Dana Buerkett, also died in the accident.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;
	&amp;ldquo;She will be painfully missed,&amp;rdquo; said Susan Art, Dean of Students for the College.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;
	Buerkett, also known as &amp;ldquo;Moe,&amp;rdquo; was a resident of Woodward House in her first year. She was a member of the volleyball team and belonged to the Delta Gamma sorority.&lt;/p&gt;
