A "huge globular luminous object" was spotted in the Shanghai sky on Saturday evening by aircrews who reported it to air traffic control, the East China Air Traffic Control Bureau confirmed to media on Tuesday.

"Several flights" had reported the same sight the same night, an unnamed bureau official told the Shanghai Daily.

The bright object was "far" from the planes, according to the bureau, and appeared "normal" on the radar, the Shanghai Oriental Morning Post reported. Flight control personnel therefore did not request pilots avoid it.

A microblogger claiming to be the pilot of Flight CZ6554 from Shanghai to Changchun wrote he had seen a huge bright spherical object at 10,700 meters above Shanghai about 9 pm on Saturday.

The object grew larger and appeared as a regular geometric sphere hundreds of times larger than the Moon, he said.

"Its diameter reached as long as 50 nautical miles," the microblogger wrote.

"At first I thought I was hallucinating until the copilot asked me whether I saw it too," he wrote. "It was so big that it occupied the whole side window, and the other flights had already reported it as we prepared to do so."

The object faded and finally disappeared 20 minutes later, according to the microblogger.

The phenomenon was likely caused by "astronautic or military activities," Zhu Jin, curator of the Beijing Planetarium, told the Global Times on Tuesday, and was probably not a celestial body.

Zhu did not agree with Web users who defined the object as a "UFO."

"UFO stands for 'unidentified flying object,' while the scene this time is more accurately described as an unidentified aerial phenomenon," he said.

I was driving home from work when I noticed a large bright orange/red light in the sky which at first glance I thought was the moon. I kept looking at it through the trees as I was driving and it was moving East over top of Baltimore and looked nothing like the moon in Shape/Size/Color. I pulled in to my driveway and stared at it for about 20 seconds and noticed it was moving up/down/left/right and thought to myself that there is absolutely no way it is a plane unless it was crashing, but what plane goes up when it crashes?! At the beginning of the video I'm standing at my driver's side door. You can kind of see it moving in odd directions (mostly UP/LEFT), but then I decided that I needed to stable my arms to see it better in the video so I walk up to my gate. It's moving up and left at first, but then begins going down and to the right. At 48 seconds you see 2 bright lights quickly flash in the left bottom corner for maybe 1/2 a second and the "UFO?" begins moving semi-quickly to the right. (You can use my garage roof as a reference point to see how fast it's moving.) Then disappears completely at about 1:13.

Around 2 A.M. this Unidentified Flying Object (UFO) was seen for the second night in a row hovering around the south Texas area. The night prior to this event, there was a identical sighting that lasted for almost 3 hours. The object flies and hovers around the sky, flying left the changing course and going right. it seems as if the object has a stationary red and blue light, but two others that strobe and are far apart. About 2 hours after this video another object appeared, but my camera ran out of battery.

"I was running around with some kids way smaller than me playing tackle handball. Needless to say i beat them all. While we were playing we saw these 3 lights floating. I recorded it on my blackberry but the video sucked. In actual life the lights lookes like 3 meteors following each other. They each had a ball of fire as a head and a tail right behind it. These are not fireworks cus they just keep floating around instead of just blowing up. I started recording pretty late but at first they kep appearing and dssapearing . all i cought was them dissapearing at the end."

I have no idea what it was, but it sure wasn't a balloon or remote toy, that's for sure. I watched it and it was steady hovering tree blocks away behind my backyard. I was able to climb my fence and get a good footage before it faded out of sighting. I had seen some planes fly over my house in formation earlier, so I decided to see if they would return and manage to capture some more video.

Got to see a lot of UFO sighting tonight! Went skywatching with a friend a few hours ago.

The orbs who change shape appeared again the "morphers" or "blinkers" as many call them flew right towards us on many occasions, i even added footage of a real passenger jet that flew over us when we first got there. I added this scene in the video in order to display how big of a difference it really is between the both crafts. One is silent and has a boomerang shaped body with odd blinkers and can change shape from a orb to look more like a aircraft, the other looks like a real passenger jet the whole time..
