The conference will provide participants with an opportunity to take forward discussions under three main themes which form the basis of the work of the UK Centre for Legal Education (UKCLE)&nbsp; in the year 2010/11 and to consider how they contribute to the UKCLE&rsquo;s over arching theme of increasing student success:</p> <ul> <li>Better Teaching</li> <li>Flexibility of Learning</li> <li>Graduate Impact</li> </ul> <p>Contributions are invited from law teachers, practitioners, postgraduate teaching assistants, students and managers in legal education which fit with these themes and in particular, but not exclusively,&nbsp; can be included in one or more of the following topics:</p> <ul> <li>The impact of the National Student Survey,</li> <li>How we can improve student engagement</li> <li>Concerns about education for sustainable development </li> <li>The external examiner system </li> </ul> <p>Proposals must be submitted in the form of an abstract of between 400-750 words, together with a short biography (maximum 150 words) of the proposer(s). The abstract must contain the following:</p> <ul> <li>Title of the proposal</li> <li>The names and professional affiliations of contributors</li> <li>The intended format ( e.g. paper presentation, interactive workshop, discussion forum or panel, poster presentation, or other format if appropriate)</li> <li>A summary of the proposal, together with an indication of which topic(s) from those listed above forms the focus of the proposal</li> <li>A brief statement as to the intended contribution this proposal makes to the scholarship of teaching and learning law. This should include brief references to the key literature, as appropriate.</li> </ul> <p>Deadline for abstracts, including biographies: Friday 10 September 2010. All abstracts will be subject to academic peer review.
