Hello all,
I hope that you're taking lots of great photos this summer--vacations, family events, fires...
If you're a user of Flickr, the photo-sharing site then you know how cool it is to see photos from all around the world, and to share your photos with everyone. There are many creative people who write their own software to enhance the Flickr experience--the coolest one I have seen so far is Flickrvision, which uses the power of Google maps to display the location of new photos as they are uploaded to Flickr! It quickly becomes mesmerizing to view a map of the world (or a 3-D globe) as photos pop up from all over. The globe version even displays the current position of nightfall around the world, with satellite views of the electric illumination of population centers.
Check it out and upload your own photos for the world (or at least Journal readers) to view and enjoy.

Hello folks,
It has been a bit of time since the last entry of photos taken by YOU. I apologize for that--other projects and such.
Here are the latest photos from Saturday, June 7, taken at the Plaza during the Farmer's Market. Actually, we went to the fair later that day, so the camera was on the bench until 8:30 last night. Thanks again for your participation. More fun photos to follow--remember, you can submit your own photos to me for this blog.

O.K., technically, it's not a bench... See the photos below, and for more from this series, go to the Flickr site.

Here are some of the latest images from the Bench project. Many thanks to all who have viewed and commented over the past few days, and special thanks to the photographers!
This project will still continue, and we'll add some new projects--Anyone up for a photo-montage story?
Take five photos that tell a story--the only words allowed are the title of the story--the images should tell a story with a beginning and an ending. Be thinking about this and we'll announce the start pf the new project later this week. You'll need your own camera--any kind at all will do. I'll post full details later.

This is an introduction to our new photo blog, which will soon be authored by Chris Waner-Carey. Chris started a photo project in Ukiah, leaving single-use cameras on School St. along with a note asking whoever sat there to take whatever photos they wish. He collects the cameras at the end of the day and processes them onto a Flickr account. He will start uploading his photos to this blog. Here is a preview of some of the photos taken, followed by the link to the Flickr account.
