Thinkspace is proud to present "Wild at Heart: Keep Wildlife in the Wild," an exhibition to raise awareness about the precarious predicament of wild creatures around the world, and to benefit efforts to protect them in their natural habitat. Featuring a stellar cast of more than 100 artists from all corners of the art world.

As the natural world becomes increasingly impacted by shifting climate, human greed and diminishing resources, protecting those creatures that still roam free becomes ever more vital to the soul of humanity. For even if we could continue to exist without wildlife, the spirit-crushing sadness that our species would take upon itself would surely rob all joy from life. Those majestic, miraculous, elemental beings which we admire from afar are at the root of who we are as people — from the woodland protagonists of our childhood storybooks, to the metaphors we use to describe ourselves as adults, to the animal spirits that visit us in our dreams. As we take steps to protect them from those who would rob them of their freedom, we also improve our own species' chances to persist far into the future, both by preserving the natural world we all share, and by cherishing the sacred genesis of our imagination and symbology.

In appreciation of the magnificent creatures with whom we share the planet, Thinkspace donates 20% of the sale price of each piece of art to Born Free USA, which advocates worldwide for the ethical treatment and protection of wild animals and maintains a sanctuary for rescued primates.

Born Free USA is a leader in animal welfare and wildlife conservation with campaigns against animals in entertainment, exotic "pets," trapping and fur, and the wildlife trade. The Born Free USA Primate Sanctuary provides a safe, permanent home for more than 500 nonhuman primates, many of whom were rescued from abusive situations in research facilities, roadside zoos, or private possession. Our mission is to "Keep Wildlife in the Wild."

Patient research work involving more than 5 thousand photographs resulted in a 1 minute film that AlmapBBDO created to advertise Getty Images, the world leading image database for creating and distributing visual contents. The film is surprising when showing 873 images in 15 images per second, sufficient speed to transform the series into a video that, without any text, tells a beautiful story. All photos, without any exceptions, are from the Getty Images archives.

Copywriter Sophie Schoenburg and art director Marcus Kotlhar worked 6 months researching images, improving the script and building each scene so they would not only be understood, but would also touch viewers. Sometimes, for example, a scene would look perfect on paper, but the images chosen to depict it were not sufficient or did not perfectly match up to offer the right movement and sense. And hence the research had to be restarted. The film was directed by Cisma, via Paranoid BR, along with Marcos Kotlhar, the art director at the agency.

For this creation team, the purpose was to adhere to the concept that Getty Images has so many images that anybody is capable of telling any story they want by only using their archives. In the film "Do amor ao Bingo em 873 imagens" [From love to Bingo in 873 images], a storyteller in the corner of the screen describes the images used. The Getty Images logo appears at the end of the story, but the storyteller continues to turn until reaching the exact number of images in the Getty Images archive.
Solo exhibition of Jeff Koons at Fondation Beyeler in Riehen, Switzerland. Walk-through and introduction by Curator Dr. Theodora Vischer. The show has its focus on three bodies of works: The New, Banality, and Celebration. There's also a huge flower sculpture, Split Rocker, in the garden of the museum.

Fondation Beyeler in Riehen near Basel, Switzerland, presents a large solo exhibition with works by Jeff Koons. In collaboration with the artist, the museum decided to show series of works that are central to Jeff Koons' oeuvre: The New, Banality, and Celebration.

Jeff Koons' early period-series The New consists of ready-made-like cleaning appliances, symbols of newness and purity. Banality comprises traditionally crafted sculptures in porcelain and wood. With Celebration, Keff Koons produced high-gloss steel sculptures and large-format paintings. Among the works on display are Michael Jackson and Bubbles (1988); Ushering in Banality (1988); New Hoover Convertible (1980); Winter Bears (1988); and Balloon Dog (Red) (1994-2000). The giant Split Rocker is installed in the garden of the museum.
In this video we walk through the exhibition on the occasion of the media reception and Dr. Theodora Vischer (Senior Curator at Large, Fondation Beyeler) gives us a short introduction to the show.

Jeff Koons at Fondation Beyeler is the first exhibition ever devoted by a Swiss museum to the American artist Jeff Koons. The show runs until September 2, 2012.
On Wednesday, May 23rd, 2012, Isaac Lamb told his girlfriend to meet him at his parent's house for dinner. When she arrived he had stationed his brother to sit her in the back of an open Honda CRV and give her some headphones. He "wanted to play her a song"...

What she got instead was the world's first Live Lip-Dub Proposal.

They've removed the "Hollywood" aspects of Gymkhana FOUR and instead placed the focus on Block's behind-the-wheel driving precision by incorporating never-before-seen shots and all-new angles of previous shots
Street artist JR made a wish in 2011: Join me in a worldwide photo project to show the world its true face. Now, a year after his TED Prize wish, he shows how giant posters of human faces, pasted in public, are connecting communities, making change, and turning the world inside out. The Afghan Box Camera Project provides a record of the kamra-e-faoree (instant camera) which as a living form of photography is on the brink of disappearing in Afghanistan.

In this video, Qalam Nabi, one of the last two remaining box camera photographers in Kabul demonstrates how to use his camera.

The Leica M9-P ‘Edition Hermès' follows in the footsteps of previous M-System cameras (the Leica MP and M7) to bear the work of Parisian fashion house Hermès. Both companies have a passion for master hand craftsmanship, and their partnership maximizes on this passion to create a one-of-a-kind masterpieces that are as beautiful as they are functional. Make no mistake, with the price tag these models command, they are aimed at only the most affluent of collectors, but for photography lovers with the necessary finances, they truly are a breath-taking investment. And judging by the 2.16 million euro recently brought at auction by a limited production prototype Leica camera from 1923, it's an investment that seems likely reward the lucky few who manage to snap one of these up handsomely.

Leica M9-P

At its heart, the ‘Edition Hermès' is a modified Leica M9-P – the smallest digital camera on the market to feature a full-format sensor. With a specially designed 18-megapixel sensor and highly refined proprietary processing, the M9-P is widely recognized as one of the great triumphs of digital camera design. As its name implies, all of the hugely powerful M-series lenses can be used, and the camera's digital sensor has been specifically optimized for these optics. For instant photo reviewing, a tough sapphire-crystal LCD monitor with dual-sided anti-glare protection provides ultra-high resolution image reproduction.

‘Edition Hermès'

The special edition MP-9 ‘Edition Hermès' is set apart by a few small but lush details. The most immediately obvious of these is the luxurious ochre-colored ‘Veau Swift’ calfskin leather finish. Matching leather is also used for the camera’s strap. The camera body itself sports a few minor stylistic refinements: The Leica logo, frame selector, and accessory shoe are conspicuously absent from the camera’s top plate, and the multifunction wheel, shutter speed dial, and shutter release have all received exceptionally sleek re-styling. A silver chrome finish is paired with immaculately matched lenses finished in silver chrome.

Two collector’s sets

Currently, the Leica M9-P ‘Edition Hermès' is only available in a limited edition set of 300 examples boxed with the Leica Summilux-M 50 mm F/1.4 ASPH lens. The price is 20,000 euro.

As of June 2012, a second set will be made available, the Edition Hermès - Série Limitée Jean-Louis Dumas featuring three lenses – a Leica Noctilux-M 50 mm ASPH, a Leica Summicron-M 28 mm F/2 ASPH, and a Leica APO Summicron-M 90 mm f/2 ASPH. For the serious professional photographer, this is enough glass to capture anything you could possibly dream of. The second set also includes an exquisitely detailed matching Hermès shoulder-bag for carrying the camera and spare lenses, and a two-volume bound collection of black and white work by Jean-Louis Dumas shot on a Leica M camera.

The Edition Hermès - Série Limitée Jean-Louis Dumas will be limited to 100 pieces worldwide, and will be available at a price of an incredible 40,000 euro

This year’s G40 will travel to Richmond, VA. and will become the inaugural opening event of the city’s soon to be announced official art district. By inviting 12 of the top mural artists from around the globe to unleash their creativity to 20 large scale walls throughout Richmond, this project is sure to put the city on the map as a street art destination. In addition to the large scale murals, we will also present an exhibit in pop up galleries along the main street of the district. With canvas work and installations by each mural artist, these shows will offer the opportunity to experience a more personal scale and a closer look at the execution and detailing of the mural artists' work.
