Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 marks the franchise’s first venture into the future of warfare, complete with an entirely new approach to playing the game. We’ve rummaged through the interwebs and contacted our deep-throated sources for information and compiled it all in this handy guide. Read on for everything we know about Black Ops 2.

What’s the story?

Written by The Dark Knight and Blade scribe David S Goyer, Black Ops 2’s story is set in 2025. Unmanned aerial vehicles, armoured robots and satellites are at the frontline of modern warfare. Rare earth minerals are the new oil. Naughty person Raul Menendez has somehow infiltrated the US’s own defences, and is using them to attack home turf and start a war between the US and China.

If it’s set in the future, why are there horses? Surely everyone will have electrohorses by then?

Black Ops 2 will switch back and forth between 2025 and the original’s setting of the 1980s. The 80s action will foreshadow the near-future levels, explaining why Menendez is so angry and how the war started.

Where is it set?

We know for certain that LA and Yemen will feature in the game, with the former providing the backdrop for some dystopic urban warfare. The folks over at G4TV transcribed dates and co-ordinates from the trailer, and came up with the following places and dates:

July 23, 1986 - Angola, Africa
October 23, 1987 - Kalana, Afghanistan
December 19, 1989 - Panama City, Panama
October 23, 2022 - Sharj Sharin, Yemen
June 19, 2025 - Los Angeles, California
June 12, 2025 - Hong Kong, China
July 23, 2025 - Chad, Africa
July 25, 2025 - British Indian Ocean Territory (North-west Indian Ocean)

Will anyone from Black Ops return?

In the 1980s sections the player protagonist will be Alex Mason, and the whole thing’s narrated by the original’s presumed-dead badass Sergeant Frank Woods. Alex Mason’s son, David, is the player character in the near-future bits.

Who will be talking as the character’s lips move?

James C Burns is the only confirmed voice actor at the moment, returning to lend his vocal chords to Frank Woods. The presence of Alex Mason suggests that Sam Worthington is likely to return, but we don’t know who’ll be voicing his son. The mysterious Viktor Reznov also appears, making another trip for Gary Oldman to the recording booth a likelihood.

Who will I be shooting?

It’s unknown at the moment - a Youtube video enigmatically suggests that “The enemy could be anywhere, and it could be anyone”. Thanks for that. We’d guess at Chinese forces, as well as good ol’ non-nation-specific terrorists. The retro sequences will take place in the real-life proxy wars of the Cold War, where other countries fought over US and Soviet ideologies.

Can I shoot at least one zombie?

Yes! You can shoot many zombies. The official Facebook page hosts an image of a woman (A woman!? In a manshoot!?) holding a zombie skull. Treyarch studio head Mark Lamia told One of Swords, “If you like zombies, you’re going to be really happy with what we’re doing with Black Ops 2. It’s our biggest, most ambitious zombies effort ever”. In a separate interview with Official PlayStation Magazine, Lamia also said that there would be twice as many zombies as before, and twice as many co-op players. That’s right, eight players!

With what shall I be shooting them?

People who know an impressive amount about this kind of thing over on Call of Duty’s community site spent hours poring over the trailer. They came up with the following list of real-world and sci-fi weaponry:

As well as more traditional lead-projectors, Black Ops 2 will feature state-of-the-art near-future unmanned drones and vehicles. It’s unknown as to whether or not these will be available in the zombie or multiplayer modes, but they’re a big part of the single player game. We also don’t know if an unmanned vehicle can become a zombie unmanned vehicle.

What is this non-linear gameplay thing?

Black Ops isn’t just the Call of Duty franchise’s first venture into the future - it’s also the first time it’s experimenting with branching, multiple story lines. These are known as “Strike Force missions”, accessible during the single-player campaign, and each one will impact on how the story plays out. You won’t be able to play all of them in one sitting, and if you die during one the game will carry on to the next mission.
The Strike Force missions will also alter the way you play the game. Rather than sticking to the FPS perspective, you’ll switch to an RTS top-down perspective. From here, you’ll be able to dip in and out of other characters, aerial attack drones and quadrupedal robo-tanks known as CLAWS. "These are great levels, because you're going to be able to go back and play them, you can play them on different difficulty levels," Mark Lamia told The Verge “If you're playing the campaign, and you're moving through, you can go back later to play the other levels to try them out."

What about multiplayer?

The multiplayer levels are going to be set entirely in 2025. Two levels have been glimpsed so far: a village in Yemen, and a ruined version of downtown LA, also known as “just downtown LA”. Create-a-class and killstreaks will be reigned in, with Treyarch aiming to make the multiplayer feel more intimate. They also want the experience to be more tailored for E-Sports.

Who’s developing it?

Black Ops and World at War developers Treyarch are behind the new title, and it’s running on the same IW 3.0 engine that powered Black Ops and, um, Quantum of Solace.

Andriod game opurtunity

Surfing through the play store thismorning i noticed a definite lack of one genre of games completely. A nice 3d zombie game. Sure we have all the contract killer spin offs but i mean a real game.... something like shadowgun but with zombies and 4 person coop. Online of coure. So i guess i want Cod zombies for android. I promise that whoever brings a game like this out first will make tons of money. Just my two cents.....

Mw3's Chaos mode Lives up to it's name

The new chaos mode for mw3 is out, and with it brings more epic gameplay! I'm a huge fan of this new game mode and find it an exciting break from the run and gun multiplayer. The rules are hard to explain but easy to pick up. I find a video dose this best.

As you can see its.... well chaos. I have to give it a 10/10 for fun. Show your appreciation and let's see if i can get 10 like, shares, subscribes, or comments. Mlb 2k12 Review

Well before I ran out and bought any games to review I figured I should review the eighteen or so that I own. This one is one of the newest. The new main menu is amazing. No more digging through save load menus to get to the game you want. It is very similar(reminded me of) to the windows phone configuration. On start up it goes through and loads the living roster feautre and the games of the day. Since I went from 2K9 to 2K12 all this is new to me. On 2k9 my living roster never updated. There is a mode to actually play games going on that day in the mlb. I myself dont play it, but it seems like a cool enough mode. There is still the standard season mode not much has changed here. My favorite mode by far is the carreer mode. You get to make your player, select your position, and earn your way to the big leauges.

Starting out in the minor leauges is slightly anoying as you play like the four teams over and over. You have to play games to earn skill points, which you later can use to upgrade your hitter how you want. My one gripe about this mode is the base running. You get challenges to do a hit and run but your batter dosnt swing. The baserunnig is all togother just time consuming with very little returned by it.

The graphics seem amazing to me. I have it for xbox so I can only imagine how much better it is for Pc. The players seem to move pretty realisticly to me. So dose the ball off the bat.

Like wise the announcers have gotten better through the years and the jump from 2k9 to 2k12 was evident.

Atomic Bomber

This weeks featured android app of the week, happens to be one of my favorites. Well I like the way the description says it " Bomb the communists back to 1916!

Fly a NATO ground-attack fighter to repel a Soviet invasion.

It's 1970, and the communists are invading Europe. It's your job to bomb them back to 1916. Tactical nuclear weapons are authorized-- it's gonna be fun on the bun!

Your bombs fall with realistic physics. Dodge MiGs, guided missiles, and anti-air guns."

GamePlay

This is strictly a 2d game but that actually is one of the reasons it is so fun. Your goal? Bomb everyone in that particular wave to the ground! All while earning upgrade and dodging the pesky missiles and AA guns.

Controls

Controls are very simple. On the left side there are the buttons to drop bombs and nukes.

To steer just simply drag your finger in the direction you want to go.

Price

There is a free version but you get one less life, don't get to have your upgrades after you died, and only have one plane. For only 99 Cents you get to have three lives, upgrades last after you die and get two planes to use.

Over all

In conclusion Atomic Bomber is a great time waster that any phone is able to handle. My optimus with a 600mhz processor played it perfectly. Controls are great, in my opinion the graphics really fit in with the game. I've spent 50+ hours playing this game and still find my self coming back.

Battle Field 3 support Living into Battle Field 4

With Battle field 4 being announced people have been questioning the support to Bf3 by Dice. Not to worry Dice has confirmed contonued support "We are committed to providing an excellent Battlefield 3 experience well into the future, past the releases of Aftermath, End Game, and Battlefield 4," according to the post. "DICE is continuing its work on Battlefield 3 alongside Battlefield 4." This is good news for the masses still engrossed in Bf3's epicness. Access to the Bf4 beta is already being given if you preorder the upcoming game Medal of Honor War Fighter. Though don't get to excited yet rumors have the game arriving in September of 2013 giving us probably around exactly a year until the release of the beta.

Black Ops 2 Big Hit or Big Miss?

While the upcoming release of Call Duty's Black Ops 2 Promises to shake up the series, is it going to live up to the hype and standards of play that the millions of fans expect. While i would be willing to bet that BO2 will outsell all of the previous Call of Duty's Im not so sure if it will be so widely loved. First off they will need to work out obvious bugs that BO had. Im not sure if it was my xbox or not but black ops was the only game that it will freeze up on. Not to mention the online server issues that you knew would happen at least once a game. While all is not gloom here as there is some very promising features. Zombies alone will attract a huge audience to the game. And this zombies promises to be even epicer( if that's a word) than any of the last offerings. Bigger maps, eight players, twice as many zombies on the map, and using regular multiplayer servers. The campaign also promises to be interesting with your decisions effecting the outcome. How this can play into a sequel when there is multiple endings i don't know. The one thing I do know this is either a home run or a strike out for the call of duty series. Whats your thought? Leave it below and see what others have to think.

Armored Kill Dlc News

Just revealed is some very interesting info over bf3's newest map pack. Named armored kill players will be getting 4 new maps including the largest map in Bf3 history. New vehicles will be included ( name hints to tanks). Five new unlocks for original vehicles will be included and twenty unlocks for new vehicles. This could shake up the game. And if that isnt enough to have you drooling over the dlc a new game mode is also included. This new mode leaves tank gunners and infantry using "all their skills to control key points of the maps.” as battlefields blog put it. Unlike rumor the console players will remain at twenty four. You can expect to find this in september with ps3 getting it one week early. What are your thoughts on the new DLC and what should dice be including? Leave you comment below.

Hi, welcome. Let me first tell you about myself. Im 15 attending Dana Hills High as a sophomore. Im on the varsity Baseball team and Jv water polo team. I play on xbox and now recently pc. Why am I creating this? Well first, many game reviews out their are (A) Bias to one series or another or (B) unfair in why they dock points, stars, thumbs, ect.
