Guide on How To Write A Blog Post

After Creating your Blog, you will have to start writing articles on the blog to keep it updated. Findings has showed that a blog without updated articles is a dead one, and the more you keep writing fresh articles on your blog, the more it grows. So in this article today I will be sharing with you the simple steps to take when writing blog post on Blogspot Blogs.

To Get Started

Log on to your blog at
www.blogger.com
OR
www.blogspot.com

Click on the ''New Post'' Tab or the ''Pen'' Tab as shown in the picture below.

By clicking on the "New Post" tab the "Post Editor" will open.

Enter the "title" of your post (this is what your post will be about) and type the "content" of your post as shown in the picture below.

Now to enter Links on your post, all you need to do is to hi-light the text you want to use as a link, click "link" as shown in the picture below and enter the url you want the text to link to. If you click open this in a new window box, the link will open in another window when anyone clicks on it when reading your article.

changes can be made to the font size, font style, font colour underline your text and make your text bold or in italics. All these icons are available on the top middle of your post editor, you can play around them. Move your icon on each icon and read what each icon can do for you.

The "insert jump break" icon allows you to add jump breaks to any part of your post. If you have come across a blog post which indicate read more after some words, shows that a jump break has been applied to the post. More tutorial on this later in my next post.

To add image, click on the image icon as shown in the picture below:

There are various options of adding image to your post. Click the "Choose Files" button to select pictures from your computer. Then click "Add Selected"

The Picture below will now come up on your blog post after clicking on add selected.

Once you are OK with your post, click on "Publish" tab at the top of the post.

Now you can view your post and start sharing with friends.

That's all!.

You can always edit your post anytime you want to add or delete somethings. In my future post, I will discus on how to edit your post and also how to work on "Post Settings" (the tab that appears at the top right hand corner of your post.

How To Create A Blog For Free

In my last post, I defined the word BLOG and the different types of available free blogging platforms such as Blogger, wordpress, weebly, Typepad etc. But I recommended BLOGGER, powered by Google. Blogger blogs ends up with ".blogspot.com" and this can be changed, when you purchase a custom domain name for your blog. In this post today, I will be giving you a simple tutorial on how you can create a free blogspot.com and blog free of charge. This tutorial is going to be a good start for you, if you are interested in blogging with .blogspot.com

You can use your new generated free blog to share a lots of things online, such as tutorials, news, videos, pictures, seminars etc. And make money while doing it. All you need to do is just follow the steps I will be giving you today and get started.

STEP 1

Go To www.blogger.com or www.blogspot.com (Although they are all the same, you can choose any one). Look at the screen shot below.

STEP 2

Click on "Get started" as seen on the picture above. Then a page similar to the one below will be shown:

Right on the page, you will create a Google account which you are going to use for your blog and other Google services.

If you already have a Gmail account, Fine. All you have to do is just click on the "Sign in First" Link at the top of the page. Then If you do not have a Gmail account, Fill the for accordingly.

Display Name: This is the name that will appear under your blog post like a signature. Here you can enter your name or your nickname.

Tick "I accept the terms of services" box, then click on "continue"

STEP 4

You will see a new page similar to the one below:

Blog Title: This will be seen at the the top of your blog and should be relevant to what you intend posting on your blog.

Blog Address: Let your blog address relate to what you are blogging about. For Example, if you are blogging about "safety" , you can try "safetyinfos". You don't have to include your name to show people that you owns it. "Click on check availability" to see if your address is ready for use. If it displays not available, use another address. And if it is available, click on "continue".

STEP 5

You will see a new page where you can choose your template as seen in the picture below:

Here you can choose any template you like for now. It doesn't really matters which one you choose, you can change it at a later date. But for this tutorial, I will choose the "simple" template.

Please Note: Avoid the "Dynamic view" for now in case you see it as part of the options.

Once you have choose your template, click on "continue".

Congratulation!!. Your blog is now created, you can start Blogging!!

Please, take note of your address because it will serve as what you will be sharing with people to visit your blog.

So, to log in to your blog any time, all you just have to do is go www.blogger.com OR www.blogspot.com and log in with the Gmail details you used in creating your blog account.

The word 'BLOG' in this Tech world is not suppose to be a new word that has not been heard or familiar with, but some people still see it as a big science term and don't know what it's all about. Well feel relaxed because am here to explain in full details, all you have to know about blogging. So I welcome you to the world of blogging!.

Now What Is A Blog?

Initially, a Blog is said to be an online version of our personal diary in which we keep records of happenings in our daily lives. In simple terms in the modern world, a blog is a website, where you write stuffs on an ongoing basis. With the new stuffs displayed at the top of your blog, visitors can read what is new and give their comment as well. Though this said comments can be moderated which make it more interactive than a website.

Since Blogger was lunched in 1999, blog has reshaped the web, you can update it with fresh contents compare with website. It doesn't matter weather you are knowledgeable about web design or HTML coding. Any articles you want to post on your blog can be enriched with pictures, videos, presentations etc. You can start your own blog as a newbie with just following the simple instructions and ready to learn.

With the help of a blog, you don't need to look for an office for your business any longer, you can create your online presence for your business on the internet. As a matter of fact, this can take you or your business to the highest level.

Visitors to your blog can read what you have to say and learn from it. In fact I have seen women excel in blogging and making a lot of money without spending any dime to get started. Such as Linda Ikeji blog, she blog about entertainment news and modelling as well. All you need is to devote your time for it and ready to work for your money. The sky is your limit.

Do not rush to start a blog, be patient to chose a topic you are very much interested in, since this is going to really determine the area which you will be passionate about to keep on writing. It will be good enough to start a blog and be short of what to write about at the end of the day. As you can see, my blog is resourceful because am blogging about stuffs related to safety, internet marketing and technology which am so passionate about. Don't worry anymore, with the help of search engine, you can get many articles online which you can bring together to make your own fresh article. Hence, it is easy to update your blog with fresh contents.

After getting a topic you want to be writing about, then you can start a FREE BLOG. I recommend BLOGGER for you as a beginner, although their are many blogging platforms out there such as wordpress, Typepad, which you can also start with.

Hazards and Hazardous Classifications

The meaning of the words Hazard and Risk has been quiet confusing. Some Dictionary don't give a specific definitions of hazard, a times it is been refer to ask 'risk'. More information about Risk in my next post. For instance a dictionary defined hazards "as Risk or Danger".

WHAT IS A HAZARD?

There are many definitions for hazards, but am going to define the one that relate to work place health and safety.

A Hazard is refer to as any source of potential damage, harm or adverse health effects on something or someone under certain conditions at work. Basically, a hazard can cause harm or adverse effects. For simplicity the harm can happen to individual as health effect and to organizations as property or equipment Losses.

And that is the major reason why at times hazard is referred to as being the actual harm or the health effect it cause rather than the hazard.

For example the disease, malaria might be called a hazard by some but in general the malaria- causing bacteria could be considered the 'hazards' or 'hazardous biological agent'.

WHAT ARE THE EXAMPLES OF A HAZARD?

A work place hazard can occur from wide range of sources.
General examples includes:

1. Things or Tools: The things or tools we use at work or home such as knife, Hammer, blades, saw Blades etc, are all example of hazards when not used properly. These tools are harmful when you have a cut on your body accidentally.

2. Substance: Chemical substance like Benzene is a good example of a hazardous substance that can cause harm to ones health when exposed to it. The harm this type of substance can cause is refer to as Leukemia.

3. Material: Materials such as Asbestos is also an example of hazardous material, exposure to this material without following the safety rules for the usage could be harmful and result to Mesothelioma.

4. Source of Energy: A source of energy is another example of a hazard. Electricity for instance can be harmful when an Electrical Engineer work directly on Electricity to rectify a particular fault without a protective equipment, or when one touches a live wire at work or home. Shock or Electrocution is the harm an Electricity hazard can cause.

5. Condition: The condition of a place at a particular time is also an example of hazard. Having a wet floor where people pass by is an example of hazard condition. One can easily slips and fall on a wet floor at work or home, so it is advisable to keep the floor of your offices and homes dry always.

6. Process: There are some processes we carry out at work to execute a job such as welding. The fume from welding is harmful there by causing a Metal fume fever when not with the normal protective Equipment.

7. Practice: The practice in during the act of Hard Rock Mining is a hazard. During this practice, there is a possibility of particles that are harmful to occur which can result to Silicosis.

All these hazard take place mainly as a result of not working with the normal Personal Protective Equipment (PPES) where necessary. And also not being safety cautious at all time is very dangerous.

Impotance Of Safety

There is a great benefit in maintaining a safe work environment. As an employer, you must ensure you protect your workers and that is what is called SAFETY. It's the right thing to do, the duty of the employer is to send back their workers home in the same condition they came in. So it is necessary to maintain that duty at all cost.
Employee working in a safe environment is said to develop a boost morale, which in turn increase productivity, efficiency and profit margins. And if they come to realize that they have a safe environment, they think and feel they can eventually make a difference.

In a safer environment, there will be fewer staff absences, less Staff turnover and improved quality of work.

Practicing safety also contribute to financial benefit, lost cost, workers compensation claim are minimized directly or indirectly. As a result of these at a safer side, Insurance and Legal fees are said to reduced.

Both the Employer and Employee have a great benefit practicing safety at work. As an Employee, It is when you are alive and healthy you will be able to work for any Employer. And the Employer at the other hand also earn a great reward towards the development of his company provided he safe guard the Employee under his organisation. It both works together. Forget safety and see what result you have at the end of the day.

WHAT IS SAFETY?

Safety in a simple meaning is the state of being 'safe'. It is the condition of being protected from unlikely to cause danger, risk or injury. It's a condition of being protected against physical, social, spiritual, financial, political, emotional, Occupational, psychological, educational or other types of consequences of failure
damage, error, accidents, harm or any other event which could be considered non-desirable. This can take the form of being protected from the event or from exposure to something that causes health or economical losses. It can include protection of people or possessions.

Safety means keeping yourself and others from harm or danger. It means taking care not to fall or bump or run into things that can cause danger or harm you. Practicing safety is very important in our lives in any circumstances, by doing this you can avoid accidents being careful with all what you are doing. It is better you avoid accident than allowing it happen. Safety is a freedom from all condition that can cause injury and damage to life and property.

SAFETY AT HOME

In other to have a smooth day in our various houses, we need to practice safety at home. Accidents occur everyday in various houses due to lack of awareness, carelessness and proper training on how to safeguard our lives practicing safety. Most of us don't regard this as an importance in our daily life. You can imagine a man climbing the building of his house to amend damage portion without using a Ladder, which is a 'RISK' and taking risk can result to 'DANGER' which causes 'INJURY'. More tutorial on this terms in my next post. Keeping the surrounding of your home tidy is safety, keep sharp objects away from children because they can harm themselves with it. You must always keep the floor of your house dry always because if the floor is wet and slippery, people can step on it and fall and this can cause accident. There will be more on how to keep yourself and people around you safe always practicing safety.
