Aston Martin Valhalla Spider, Porsche Mission S and Ferrari 499P Modificata headed for auction ...

Two years after the Coupe debuted, Aston Martin have now taken the wraps off the Valhalla Spider. As the name suggests, it is the open version of the mid-engined sports car that received universal acclaim. As such, it combines the twin-turbo V8 hybrid drivetrain and carbon-fibre composite monocoque with the thrills of open driving. According to Aston Martin, the Valhalla Spider can accelerate to 100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds and has a top speed of 350 km/h with the optional hard-top fitted.
Earlier this month, Porsche showcased the Mission S Concept. The strikingly styled, mid-engined machine is far more than a preview of a future production model. It represents a significant shift in strategy for the ailing German manufacturer, which looks to move upmarket. No concrete details have been released but the consensus seems to be that the Mission S is powered by a new flat-eight engine that is mounted in front of the rear axle.
For the upcoming and very exclusive Geneva Auction, Gooding Christie's have consigned this Ferrari 499P Modificata as the headliner. As far as we can tell, this is the first example of the mighty track-day weapon that is offered for public sale. Chassis 021 was acquired new by a Swiss enthusiast, who did not actually use it during any of the Sport Prototipi Clienti program. This is expected to run through to at least 2028, so the new custodian will be able to participate from the 2027 season onwards.

It has been a busy opening day of the 2026 Paris Motor Show. Especially Stellantis pulled out all the stops with a series of fascinating show cars. Among our favourites are this striking Alfa Romeo Cuorerosso four-door coupe and the Peugeot E-T16, which is inspired by the legendary 205 T16 of the 1980s. Citroën has also revived a legend of the past with the 2 CV Concept, which will enter production in the near future. As another nod to the past, the French manufacturer also showed a Fourgonnette or 'van' version.
Alpine had already successfully mastered the retro trend with the highly acclaimed A110, which is now followed up by the A310 Vision.
Among the other cars shown in the French capital are the Honda NSX restomod; the Pininfarina styled JAS Tensei and the armoured BMW 7 Concept Protection.
Also revealed in the last couple of days was the highly anticipated Jaguar Type 01, which is the first model to enter production after the complete revamp of the British manufacturer's line-up.
Rival of old, Aston Martin took the wraps off the DBX GT, which is the most powerful version of the high performance SUV yet.

One-off Ruf Project Dragon and Ferrari's Daytona SP3 headed for auction ...

For the inaugural Retromobile New York sale, Gooding Christie's have just consigned this one-off Ruf Project Dragon, which will be offered by the first owner without a reserve set. It was completed in 2024 using the final spare chassis left over from the CTR2 project back in 1998. The name is derived from the 'Dragon Fire Orange' paint used for the bespoke carbon-fibre composite body and OZ Racing wheels. Under the skin, the unique Project Dragon boasts revised suspension, carbon-ceramic brakes and a more powerful engine. The Ruf specialists, Gooding Christie's estimate that this singular and very distinct machine will sell for $6 - $8 million.
Another recent car set to make headlines is this very special Ferrari Daytona SP3, which will cross the block at the upcoming RM Sotheby's London Auction. This was the development and press car and as such features a specification selected by Ferrari. This includes a triple yellow exterior over a red leather interior. Completed in October of 2022, it subsequently starred in Motor Sport Magazine, Car and Driver, Road and Track, and the very last episode of Top Gear. Chassis 277499 was eventually acquired by its first only private owner in 2025 and should now sell for £7.5 - £9.5 million.

Rare MCA Centenaire headed for auction and new Bentley Torcal and Renault 8 Gordini Concept ...

For the upcoming Zoute Sale, Broad Arrow Auctions have consigned this very rare MCA Centenaire. It is in fact the first example constructed of the Lamborghini-engined supercar and as such the very first production road car built around a carbon fibre composite chassis. It served as the development prototype and was also used for demonstrations by the Monegasque company. Following spells in the hands of engine supplier Lamborghini and company founder Fulvio Ballabio, chassis EL 002 GB is now offered from single, French ownership of over a decade with a €900,000 - 1,200,000 estimate.
With the Torcal Bentley have presented the company's very first battery electric vehicle. It combines all the hallmarks of a Bentley with a sophisticated pure electric drivetrain that produces up to 875 bhp in Torcal S trim. If driven with some self restraint, the Torcal has a range of up to 600 km.
At the upcoming Paris Auto Salon, Renault will reveal this 8 Gordini Concept. As the name suggests it is a retro styled two-door coupe inspired by the legendary 8 Gordini. Whereas the original features a rear-mounted internal combustion engine, the new 8 Gordini is fitted with a rear-mounted electric motor instead. Given Renault's recent track record of retro-styled products, it would not surprise us to see a production version of the very striking show car be revealed in the near future.

Fabulous Ferraris headed for auction ...

For the inaugural Retromobile Auctions, Gooding Christie's have consigned some fabulous Ferraris. The absolute headliner is this Ferrari 275 GTB/4 NART Spyder. It was owned from new by American Steve McQueen, who had made the model world famous in the 1968 motion picture Thomas Crown Affair. The ex-Steve McQueen 275 GTB/4 NART Spyder is now offered from a single ownership of four decades and should sell for $15 - $20 million. Also due to cross the block in the Big Apple during the two-day sale in November are this Ferrari 275 GTB and Ferrari 250 GT Lusso.
One of the star cars at this weekend's RM Sotheby's Zurich Auction is this Ferrari F40. It is a desirable cat, non-adjust version that was delivered new to Switzerland in October of 1991. Meticulously maintained and Ferrari Classiche 'Red Book' certified, 89781 is fittingly offered from a prominent Swiss collection.

Ferrari 296 GT M, Bovensiepen Spider and BRM P351 reborn ...

At the Ferrari Racing Days on the Hungaroring, the Italian manufacturer revealed the 296 GT Modificata. Based on the successful GT3 racer, the 296 GT M is a track-only model that can be used in the Ferrari Club Competizione GT events. Not beholden to any regulations, the 296 GT Modificata is fitted with an unrestricted version of the twin-turbo V6 engine that produces 720 bhp. The 2027 calendar for the Club Competizione GT includes seven events at tracks around the world like Fuji, Indianapolis and Spa Francorchamps.
The latest creation from the newly founded Bovensiepen brand is this Spider. Limited to 99 examples, it is based on the outgoing Z4. Modifications are subtle but include tweaks to the engine, suspension and exterior. Deliveries of the first Bovensiepen Spiders will start at the end of the first quarter of 2027.
An epilogue of the BRM story is this P351 Group C racer. Built to the second generation Group C regulations, it combined a carbon-fibre composite monocoque with a 3.5-litre V12 engine. It was raced briefly in 1992 and then later in the decade as an LMP racer, powered by a Nissan V6 engine. The one-off P351 has more recently been re-acquired by BRM and has been completely restored to its original configuration. Fascinatingly, BRM has plans to once again race the car.
