The focus of HTC’s development will continue to strengthen users’ Internet experience through mobile devices

Interesting, especially considering their interests involving the MID sector and other sub-factor OS deployed devices.

This might be associated with the unexpected success of the Eee PC and the massive inflation in clones that form-factor PC. However, no one can blame anyone from Bandwagon jumping, for the simple reason that in an industry where if you snooze you lose is simply considered the bottom line.

Clarion has been showing off their new “Mobile Internet Navigation Device” (yet another friggin’ acronym) or MiND at Computex this week. This looks to us like a MID “Mobile Internet Device” but it comes with GPS capabilities and gives prospective consumers a choice of several colors scheme.

This device has a 5.2” WVGA 800 x 480 touchscreen display, based on Linux OS (at least in the demoed version), with WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. Reports are you can get this for around the $700 price range which in our opinion is a little steep if one is only looking for a MID type device, however this also allows for multimedia and office type applications.

Clarion is also planning for a “Pro” version of this to sport a 3G WWAN, however, no details on pricing as yet.

You can see the so called WiND in action below.

No F8 on reboot, or my F12 shortcut in Office, what am I to do? This might be troubling for some users out there but Dell doesn’t think so, at least not enough to include function keys with their expected release of a MiniNotebook sometime late this coming summer. Little is known about the machine except that its a 9″ Windows XP loaded ultraportable laptop running an Intel Atom processor that will be Dells most portable PC to date.

APCMag.com was able to get their hands on one for a brief time and thus the surprising info that they have decided to trade off the Fn keys for additional space, allowing slightly larger Alpha keys in their place.

With this still more than two months away it may work out in Dells favor as every one else is currently slugging it out at Computex and alike, with a new introduction for their Ultramobile devices coming left and right. Dell just might have the spotlight virtually all to themselves when this finally comes to fruition.

Typical are the specs, with a 4.3” display showing 800×480 resolution, 30 or 60Gig hard drive, 512MB RAM, with a VIA C7-M running at 1.2Ghz and Windows XP as the OS.
