A NEW radio station has been launched that plays music silently.
Internet-based radio station "Twadio" plays songs by popular artists ranging from Rihanna to Oasis – but not in a way anyone can listen to.

Rather than being able to hear the songs "listeners" just get messages sent to their computer or mobile every few minutes about what song is playing.

The creators of the station claim that simply seeing the name and artist of a popular track causes you to remember the music, and that is as good as hearing it.

Andrew Dubber, who came up with the idea, said: "Like this: U Can't Touch This by MC Hammer and now, like magic, you can hear it."

Fuck's sake mate...sort it out.

Yeah it was a difficult band to be in with everyone elses commitments, but never did I once let anyone down without explaination. This is the problem here. You could have told us ANY/ALL of this and we'd have understood. It never needed to be a problem but it turned into a problem because you just decided to bail without telling anyone. Yeah it DID need more rehearsals, not less, but when we actually stepped them up it was YOU who needed them most (and Stu but that's a separate issue) and YOU who wasn't turning up. Like I said...some communication would have sorted EVERYTHING out.

I never actually cancelled ANY gigs to play with Jilted. I changed one date yes...that was after cancelling dates on THEM to do the PB tour...then coming home to a financial meltdown, and not being able to afford to cancel another show with them. Infact, I may have had to cancel both gigs to attend my Uncle's funeral, who killed himself while I was away with Police Bastard. Don't you remember that?

As for Racism and Homophobia....now YOU know...as does ANYONE and EVERYONE else knows me, that I'm not that way inclined. I do however have a mean controversial streak that thrives off the irony of all of that stuff....and you fucking laugh at it too. What you're propsoing is a smear campaign to paint me in a bad light. You know that's not true and you also know it's not right. But go ahead mate...do as you see fit. I think you'll find that most people actually "Get It". Asisde from 'Slander' on that front you've got nothing else to throw at me have you? I don't think it was nasty at all, I didn't insult, degrade, slander or even swear at the man.

I simply spoke the truth. The truth being, that while we had good times, yes, Pix-e spent most of his time in Police Bastard Drinking, blagging, creating un-necessary obsticles to any kind of progress we were trying to make, costing us all money we didn't have, being unprofessional and unable to deliver at certain shows,...and THEN walking out on us without a single word of explaination when we had a big and important show to play.

He DID let a lot of people down, and we'll be lucky to get second chances from those people, some of whom KNEW his reputation and were already wary and wondering WHY on earth we were working with him.

We're not here to wipe someone's arse, if they've got a problem, present it to the "group" and we can sort it out. We're not into chasing people around, particularly someone who's only going to let us down again and again.

How is it our "own fault" cos we didn't give a shit enough to come running after he didn't bother to turn up to practices? Who's going to pay the studio's lost earnings from our cancelled rehearsals? Who's going to pay the wasted fuel expenses of a guitarist travelling from Cardiff, TWICE, for cancelled practices? Why should we ask permission to release a non-commercial "Rockumetry" on the web from someone who's done nothing but cost us money and behave unprofessionally?

In short, why should we care about someone who OBVIOUSLY doesn't give a fucking monkey's about anyone else, least of all any of us??

I could go on and on but I think that's enough!

ok- Jim Morrison is a complex subject but that is because he was very well protected, regarding his father was an admiral in the American Navy. Not only was he protected here, he was protected by the propoganda media machine that serves the middle and upperclasses, providing them with employment and continued wealth. As well as this he is a 60's 'bluesman' who would refer to black people as 'niggers' in his poetry. I have researched the life of Morrison very vigorously and know that he did not have black 'friends' except the real bluemen he would visit to see in run-down dives performing their art as he would steal their vocal style and deliveries.
Having been unallowed by the powers that still support Morrison and are fooled into thinking was some kind of revolutionary freedom fighter for truth and right from singing the blues myself for emulating in turn Jim's own methods of approach to the style and being of mixed race, let me say this, he was a thief and a liar.
His support by workers of black magic and satanism are very unmentioned also. He married a witch that supported his cause and continues to do so today, ie: the continuation of whites to steal from blacks and to keep the people of lower classes unable to show their own strengths and virtues and good grace and beauty, the continuance of their having to work twice as hard as his own classes to access education.

Jim Morrison was a fool and continues to be a fool in Heaven where he is grouped with the artists of the 60's who are held in awe and respect by the idiots of that era who still are living now and who are in the majority of the population age bracket and cannot bear to let go, even though the 60's were the era that the blues were made popular by 'pivotal' bands who advocated and sung about the effects of LSD. Music is now universal and practised by all races and produced by all races and is not advocating the use of race theft of modes of expression and then mixing with the educational values put forth by the classes that feed upon the devouring of less priviliged lives which in turn leave out the races that have been stolen from, I find Jim Morrison's hold on contemporary culture to be a product of criminal values.

One wonders why the story of USA Government testing of LSD and it's effects by the secret service as use as a weopan of the mind was advocated by the Morrison family and actually pushed onto Jim by them in order that he use his education and good reading to the practical use of continuing to fool the masses into believing that he was speaking for them while in fact he was keeping them locked in place.
I think Jim Morrison was used as a tool of 'Abraxas'- heaven and hell as one, as a conspiracy to lie and cheat popular culture to be what it is.

Morrison was well known to be a bully, and in terms of popular culture he remains just that. One must just ask the question, if music is available for free download and is so instantly accessible, then why are there so many millionaire lifestyle musicians playing their music in this, I believe heavily guarded industry.

I understand being 15 years old puts you under intense pressure - things like bicycling around in large groups, finally getting up the guts to assault your first teenage girl and finding a deadbeat 18 year old that will buy you smokes and beer is a lot harder than it used to be.

In a way, we also have to thank you for leaving behind so many valuables that were within plain sight. You could have easily slipped that very expensive video camera or thousand dollar keyboard under your arm with the rest of it. But you didn't, and we applaud your maturity. If I had to guess I'd say you were thinking, "We're going to take only what we absolutely need and nothing else." Let me tell you, if that thought process continues, we could be looking at some resoundingly successful political candidates in the coming years.

Lastly, we'd like to apologize about that lock on back door, as you probably needed some guitars and amps, too. At the risk of sounding selfish, we really can't part with any of that. We need it to play our shows. I hope you understand.

My name is Ninna. Richard Temple, who is also a friend of yours, said i should drop you an e-mail. He also said that he'd played you some of my songs last year before he and Rosie moved to Denmark, where i also live.

I'd really like your response on some of my stuff and maybe you would be so kind as to give some advice as to who i should contact. I've also got some English material lying around if you would be interested in that.

A bit about the style ect: I'm first and foremost a singer/songwriter. It's pop, rock and folk in one wonderful blend. It is very much about the lyrics - especially the Danish tunes.

I've been writing and playing for the past ten years or so, however - i must admit - i'm shit at all the practical stuff.

The songs on myspace were meant to be part of a record - we recorded ten songs in all. But after i had emptied my parents budget account we still were not done. The mix can be much better, as can the vocal, and it is not yet mastered either. So i'm sort of in the situation that i have ten good songs - enough for a record - that aren't done.

Anyways... hope you'll listen to it. And Rich says hello (you know, he's really nice... he's beaten me up a bunch of times and hung me from the ceiling and stuff... nice man :D)

This group has been created in response to issues raised at a meeting between the Creative Networks team and the LSC & MU. It was felt by us all that any ideas, input, advice from the music industry should come through to the bods at CN in a clear, concise and unambiguous way. As we all represent groups that want Creative Networks to succeed and musicians of all abilities and discipline to be better served, then it is in our interest to make our presence felt in the most positive way possible.

To this end, a Virtual Steering Group is to be created involving agencies and organisations that support musicians in the Midlands. This virtual steering group will act as a forum for ideas to be discussed, formulated and agreed upon. Once a consensus is reached, we will then pass our recommendations to Scarlett Scardinelli. I think that for matters regarding music at Creative Networks, we should work through a single point of contact and I am willing to take that role. It may be that we delegate individuals for certain communications, i.e. Izzy would handle the arrangements for the April CN directly.

I hope this meets with your approval, and that you have time to come aboard and give your experience and knowledge to help make CN a more relevant and valuable opportunity for musicians everywhere.

Hi Anthony, I only want to contact Scarlett with finished ideas, rather than make her party to discussion. I see the mechanism as an hourglass with us in the bottom half, leading to me at the narrow point and passing on info upto Scarlett who will pass info on upwards. As a result, we don't need to know anything about the CN hierarchy.

As regards Mark and the double booking of the board room, I don't really see that as within the scope of this steering group, but something Mark needs to take up independently with the schedulers.

Now all we need is for someone to initiate an idea!

The only contacts I have at the tic worth using are Izzy, and he in copied into this email dialogue or Scarlett Scardinelli.

The whole CN team I know about are Steve Smith (Super Powers: fine words and vigourous handshake), Ha Vu (Super Powers: details and getting Money) and Scarlett Scardinelli (Super Powers: yet to be determined).

I think Izzy mentioned that the whole board room thing with the Music Network was an ongoing problem and he was doing his best to find a new proper home where you wouldn't get moved on. It is important to realise that whilst it has it's failings, the CN event is more useful to us because someone is taking care of providing a venue and arranging a lot of stuff. We all know as musicians that if we had the time and resources, we could probably do a a better job, but it's better to let someone take care of the organising end and we can sit back and suggest how they should do it without becoming too embroiled.

Now for an idea.

We need to come up with a music idea for CN between May and September. Do we want to use Izzy's model of a range of advice givers covering the whole production, marketing and vending process? or a guest speaker? or something different.

Answers on a virtual postcard

Hopefully see some of you in a more than virtual fashion at a good old fashioned sit around the desk and talk meeting.

Can I have some super powers too? I’m trying to think up a good Marvel – style name for myself. At the moment I suspect people just refer to me as Digital Central Man. I’m not keen on that one.

I think Izzy is doing a great job digging himself out all the ‘stuff’ that gets dumped on him, and his idea of (If I‘ve got this right) almost a walk through of concept to consumer is a good one. I would suggest drawing on experts in the field from both within and without the region.

I would also suggest that we already have this process in place (Nearly) in that 4pm people can access advice, guidance and network. 6PM they can mingle and make contacts. 7pm they can attend the MU surgery style activity for specifics (Including issues of IP, performing etc) and with the guest speaker they can have a targeted industry perspective which is sometimes specific to technical aspects of the industry. So maybe what we need to do is just tie in all the existing aspects in a more joined up way?

I may be a bit slow sometimes but does this constitute a virtual email or are we to develop ideas around these virtual meetings? I’m really not being facetious.

Hmmm…a spark of genius. After all we will all be in the same building at the same time once a month. If we need to meet privately before the Music Networks meeting I’m sure I could find a space. It would save the other delegates at Music Networks having to endure the mechanics of us sorting all of this stuff out.

Mark, I understand the meetings have been messed around a lot and I would rather rant about why over a pint than over an email. I’m not (and don’t deserve to be) as unhappy as you are about it but as I have an internal responsibility for helping Music Networks to run, I have let those that need to know at the TIC that I an very unhappy about how the process is/was handled. Anyway, I hope it is all behind us and that we can get on with making the most of the situation.

If there’s a marvel character with an umbrella and a shovel for moving sh*t around, I definitely feel like him!

As to Anthony’s question, we had a daughter 2 and a half years ago and a son on the 14th of Jan this year. I just come to work to get away from the carnage!

I hope all is well at the TIC.

You may or may not be aware of the fact that the Music Network meeting is experiencing some difficulties with the catering. As you know, we have moved on from the unfortunate incidents of April and with the sterling efforts of Anthony Hughes, we now understand the ordering process one has to undertake.

The problem is this: the order made every month clearly states we need filter coffee. Often a jug of hot water and some instant sachets are provided. These usually run out and aren’t what has been ordered. Clear orders are made, polite requests are emailed, but filter coffee or even an acknowledgement or reply is not forthcoming. This, we feel, isn’t good enough.

It would go a long way to pleasing all of us, especially Mark, Anthony and me, if you would intercede on our behalf. As you have a position of some responsibility within UCE, and you mediated the previous dispute, we feel that any assistance you can give would be more effective and it will of course be gratefully received.

I understand that this can seem a trivial issue, but when it comes down to it, Digital Central, a UCE project, is placing an internal order which is not being honoured. I know filter coffee is possible, I have had some at the TIC and Conservatoire. It would be just lovely to have this at the Music Network meetings as well.

I very much hope you can help.

the truth.......yes you can go on the promtional cd but what they do is get you to sign an agreement that allows them to use your track on any other promotional item forever and without need of anymore of your consent. they get you in on the basis of free promotion but the agreement essentially gives them the right to use your track on anything now or in the future. I don't care much as i don't think it matters as long as they can't make money but you(the artist) have to decide whether you want your material exploited and promoted by a bunch of jokers to save their ass etc

i haven't pursued it as its more trouble to deal with but if you would like to do it then of course I will make it happen as effectively as possible.

sorry to be such an enthusiast but you lot are doing so well i have tried to avoid anything with LSC or barry tomes involved!

I have gone out of my way to bring the network to the tic at a time that sits well with the whole event. the music network 4-6 and then creative network after it. I can't be bothered to fight with a whole list of others who are capable of causing chaos at any minute. I know that even I would be interested in attending this film thing so I don't feel this is intelligent planning. How about we scrap the idea of the music network altogether and you tell steve smith to stick his management up his ass? perhaps you have a better suggestion? apologies if I'm being somewhat sensitive but i'm sick of being messed about by this whole saga, I have better things to do with my time than continuously discuss something over and over again when it was all agreed months ago. ha ha, here we go again, lets have another meeting, lets talk it through, hang on let me send you a reply, what about next time, what about last time, can we do it better????

They need the room to be set up boardroom style with desks and chairs around the outside facing the centre. This group has been created in response to issues raised at a meeting between the Creative Networks team and the LSC & MU. It was felt by us all that any ideas, input, advice from the music industry should come through to the bods at CN in a clear, concise and unambiguous way. As we all represent groups that want Creative Networks to succeed and musicians of all abilities and discipline to be better served, then it is in our interest to make our presence felt in the most positive way possible.

To this end, a Virtual Steering Group is to be created involving agencies and organisations that support musicians in the Midlands. This virtual steering group will act as a forum for ideas to be discussed, formulated and agreed upon. Once a consensus is reached, we will then pass our recommendations to Scarlett Scardinelli. I think that for matters regarding music at Creative Networks, we should work through a single point of contact and I am willing to take that role. It may be that we delegate individuals for certain communications, i.e. Izzy would handle the arrangements for the April CN directly.

I hope this meets with your approval, and that you have time to come aboard and give your experience and knowledge to help make CN a more relevant and valuable opportunity for musicians everywhere.

Thanks for the effort in making this process less painful – a good step in the logical direction, well done.

A single point of contact seems logical – I for one still don’t know what or who the various organisers of CN are and how to avoid problems like the ones Mark has been experiencing.

On a point of clarification, are we saying that Scarlet is where the buck stops? – Please make that known to Music Network / Mark so he can find out why the boardroom has again been apparently double booked. Shouldn’t we be copying Scarlet into this thread?

The other advantage of a virtual steering group is that I can virtually stay in my office and deal with my emails like a good little admin bod!(On second thoughts…)

How will this virtual group work in practice? - See you all in cyber space?

Hi Anthony, I only want to contact Scarlett with finished ideas, rather than make her party to discussion. I see the mechanism as an hourglass with us in the bottom half, leading to me at the narrow point and passing on info upto Scarlett who will pass info on upwards. As a result, we don’t need to know anything about the CN hierarchy.

As regards Mark and the double booking of the board room, I don’t really see that as within the scope of this steering group, but something Mark needs to take up independently with the schedulers.

Now all we need is for someone to initiate an idea!

The only contacts I have at the tic worth using are Izzy, and he in copied into this email dialogue or Scarlett Scardinelli.

The whole CN team I know about are Steve Smith (Super Powers: fine words and vigourous handshake), Ha Vu (Super Powers: details nd getting Money) and Scarlett Scardinelli (Super Powers: yet to be determined).

I think Izzy mentioned that the whole board room thing with the Music Network was an ongoing problem and he was doing his best to find a new proper home where you wouldn't get moved on. It is important to realise that whilst it has it's failings, the CN event is more useful to us because someone is taking care of providing a venue and arranging a lot of stuff. We all know as musicians that if we had the time and resources, we could probably do a a better job, but it's better to let someone take care of the organising end and we can sit back and suggest how they should do it without becoming too embroiled.

Now for an idea.

We need to come up with a music idea for CN between May and September. Do we want to use Izzy's model of a range of advice givers covering the whole production, marketing and vending process? or a guest speaker? or something different.

Answers on a virtual postcard

Hopefully see some of you in a more than virtual fashion at a good old fashioned sit around the desk and talk meeting.

Perhaps the idea of sitting around a table is not a bad idea; maybe we should get together and bounce some initial ideas around, as I don’t think the ‘virtual’ meetings will be as successful at the beginning. Surely, meeting face-to-face (controversial, I know) will allow us all to make sure we are on the same page?!

Can I have some super powers too? I’m trying to think up a good Marvel – style name for myself. At the moment I suspect people just refer to me as Digital Central Man. I’m not keen on that one.

I think Izzy is doing a great job digging himself out all the ‘stuff’ that gets dumped on him, and his idea of (If I‘ve got this right) almost a walk through of concept to consumer is a good one. I would suggest drawing on experts in the field from both within and without the region.

I would also suggest that we already have this process in place (Nearly) in that 4pm people can access advice, guidance and network. 6PM they can mingle and make contacts. 7pm they can attend the MU surgery style activity for specifics (Including issues of IP, performing etc) and with the guest speaker they can have a targeted industry perspective which is sometimes specific to technical aspects of the industry. So maybe what we need to do is just tie in all the existing aspects in a more joined up way?

I may be a bit slow sometimes but does this constitute a virtual email or are we to develop ideas around these virtual meetings? I’m really not being facetious.

What a great idea Tara, how about we all meet 4-6pm on the last thursday of the month at the TIC seeing as we are all involved in this music thing. maybe others sat round the table may even suggest some ideas too. it could even turn into something worthwhile and there will be tea and biscuits too, we may have to discuss who's going to pay for them though. Anyone got any ideas on that one?
