Black Friday is the name given to the day following Thanksgiving in the United States. On this day, most major retailers open extremely early, often at midnight, or earlier, and offer promotional sales to kick off the holiday shopping season, similar to Boxing Day sales. Black Friday is not an official holiday, but many non-retail employers also observe this day as a holiday along with Thanksgiving, giving their employees the day off, thereby increasing the number of potential shoppers. It is one of the busiest if not THE busiest shopping day of the YEAR.

This all sounds AWESOME, however people wait in long lines, often camping out for sales that are somewhat mediocre at best. In previous years people have been seriously injured and even trampled to DEATH, which is extremely UNAWESOME!

In my opinion, this is just another excuse for consumers to buy things that they didn't even need! Consumerism at its finest!

Homework Crunch Time

Exam and End of Semester Crunch Time

Talk about the most unawesome thing of them all. When all of a sudden every class has a 25 page report due the same week just as your trying to study for exams. Homework, Homework, and MORE HOMEWORK. TO those students who can relate I am sorry for what you are going through. Try not to lose to much hair over it. To those students who are way ahead on their assignments I hate you! One thing I have learned throughout my time in school is to ensure you balance your schedule and don't leave anything to the last minute. HAHA who am I kidding that is just how most students operate. Either way goodluck and I will see you on the other side.

OOPS Wrong Class Is this Ancient Greek or Math?

So I know my fellow classmates will be able to relate to this but for those of you not in my class here is a small peak into my world. So I have class on a beautiful wednesday afternoon and I walk in ready to learn about investments and depreciation all fun sorts of things. Unfortunately, when I walk into the class it looks like when Sam on the transformers goes crazy and starts writing all those crazy symbols. For those of you unfamilliar with the Transformers movies well just think of a cave in some remote part of Egypt. Talk about an instant headache trying to learn what this jibberish is all about. If only mathematicians back in the day stuck with my golden rule of how about numbers only. Here is a little example of my wonderful time in class; Talk about UNAWESOME things

Movember is a great time of the year when men put down the razor for an entire month to help raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer. World Series Attitude!

It has been almost 20 years since the Toronto Blue Jays have made the playoffs. Yet, another year rolls by and the unawesomeness continues, no playoff showing by the Jays. However, this year has been one of the best MLB seasons in recent memory! Today marks the first game of the World Series, featuring the Detroit Tigers and the San Francisco Giants. This matchup should be a close battle and showcase a low scoring affairs, with strong pitching.

We all remember the Blue Jays winning back-to-back World Series in 92' and 93' and we all wish to relive these moments again in the near future. The Toronto sports market has been disappointing and unawesome across all sectors (NHL, MLB, NBA, and CFL). Regardless, without any NHL on the television, give the MLB a chance and watch a World Series game. This years matchup will not disappoint, I guarantee that!

Oh The Woes of Fantasy Football

Whether you're a first timer or you are Mr. Experienced there are always things that can make your hair fall out mid-season. Here are a few of those unawesome things;

1. The buddies in your league veto a trade you were so pumped about.

2. You are weak at a position and your strongest guy blows a knee BOOM gone for the season.

3. Wasted your first round pick on someone who was supposed to perform and the only performance they put on is with the media trying to blame everyone else but themselves.

4. Your team just doesn't show up when you are playing the one guy in the league who never shuts up about winning.

5. You decide to have a little fun and chirp this weeks opponent. Well doesn't that bite you in the ass when you lose horribly and are now the victim of ridicule.

6. Feel free to Comment on this about some unawesome things that have happened in your fantasy leagues.

And the one awesome thing about Fantasy football is dusting all your bestfriends and being crowned the supreme champion of the world for the entire offseason.

Apple vs. Samsung

The world's two leading smartphone makers are fighting over patents, both for smartphones and for tablets like Apple's iPad, in courts around the world.

The VERDICT....

Samsung's Galaxy tablet did not infringe Apple's designs, in part because its products were "not as cool". This decision should stop any further legal disputes between the two companies over the design of tablets in the region.

Samsung has found the situation kind of silly saying "We continue to believe that Apple was not the first to design a tablet with a rectangular shape and rounded corners".

Even craizer...

Apple has been instructed to run advertisements saying Samsung did not copy its registered tablet designs, both on its website and in selected newspapers.

This rivalry is just getting started!

Is the NHL Lockout over?

Let's hope so....

The NHL put a new offer on the bargaining table for the NHL Players' Association on Tuesday morning, which includes a 50/50 split of hockey-related revenue across the board and contingent on an 82-game season beginning Nov. 2.

This is very exciting news considering it looked like we had no hope for a season at all. Now it is up to the Players' Association to step up and accept this offer, so we can finally have some NHL hockey back in our lives.

Regardless of what happens, this is progress and a positive step in the right direction. Now man up NHLPA don't be UNAWESOME and accept this offer!

The STRESS of Exam Week!

Whether it be Midterms or Final exams those of you that are in school are dreading the horrific 168 hours of TESTS, TESTS, and more TESTS. All of the late night cramming the day before each exam grasping to the little hope you have left of getting the mark you are aiming for. This stress can drive you crazy and remind you why your professors tell you to study and practice throughout the year rather than leaving it all last minute.

At the Beginning of the Semester you always say to yourself I am going to do everything I can to get the best mark. Study every week, do all the practice problems, ask for help if needed, but somewhere around week 3 that goes out the window for Friday drinking, Saturday drinking, sunday football, or any other excuse you can make to put off the homework to another day.

Well from one student to another good luck with cramming your late night study sessions and may the procrastinating force be with you.

NFL Replacement Refs

I know that there have been numerous stories involving the horrible calls made by the replacement refs. I truly don't want to continue ragging on them but this is a must. In order for the NFL to agree to a deal with the locked out refs, we must give them as much leverage as possible.

If the new refs are making calls that can take a win away from a team (cough green bay cough) than there is obviously a drastic issue with there capabilities. It would be unfortunate to have to suffer through a whole season with each game turning into some form of a circus show and heaven forbid a player gets hurt. Please NFL bring back the old refs so we have some form of happiness. Mind you in all honesty I am sure people will still complain about their calls as well.

The NHL Lockout

This one is pretty self explanatory, NO hockey is the definition of UNAWESOME!!

Being in Canada during the winter is a tough thing already and for most Canadians hockey is what gets them through those moments of agony

BUT....

With hockey that was all easy, a piece of cake if you will. Which brings me to my next points

When will this lockout be over?

What are alternatives to no NHL?

First, we will look at when the lockout will be over, or a prediction of when. The NHL lockout is now on day 11 and all signs point to BAD.

It's unfortunate that fans can say they are used to this feeling with two previous lockouts that lasted half-a-season and a full season. With two very stubborn businessmen in Gary Bettman and Donald Fehr in charge of the NHL and NHLPA respectively, things certainly don't look good.

With both sides extremely far apart and training camp already cancelled, it is safe to say there may be no end in sight.

On a POSITIVE note...

There is still lots of hockey to watch including the AHL, which will see many star players from the NHL. So, keep positive folks, and I leave you with an opinion...

"Gary Bettman is the George Bush of the NHL" and extremely UnAWESOME.

The dreaded hangover...

You live it up for the night and hate yourself in the morning.

"I'm never drinking again"...I think everyone who has had a hangover has said this statement before, but the funny thing is we do it too ourselves. It is simple, drink less, feel better in the morning....but that is boring. i would rather live it up and pay for it in the morning.

What's your opinion, to drink lots or drink little?
