5145 SEALINK News: Sealink Secures Long-Term Charter, Sale Of Vessel For RM88m.

KUALA LUMPUR: SEALINK INTERNATIONAL BHD has secured and commenced a long term charter for an offshore support vessel to Australia, and it has also sold an offshore vessel abroad for a total of RM88 million for the two transactions.

In a filing to Bursa Malaysia Securities, Sealink said that its unit Sealink Sdn Bhd had secured a long term charter for an offshore supply vessel for a three-year period from the second quarter of 2010.

Meanwhile, Sealink Engineering and Slipway Sdn Bhd, another unit Sealink, had secured a contract for the sale of an offshore supply vessel and the vessel is expected to be delivered around the end of 2010, it said.

For the first five months of 2010, the group had secured long term charters and sale of vessels of about RM146 million.

Sealink said the contracts were expected to contribute positively to its earnings for the FY ending Dec 31, 2010 and beyond.

PETALING JAYA: Salcon Bhd's wholly-owned subsidiary Salcon Engineering Bhd has decided not to proceed with the proposed alternative water scheme project in Riau, Indonesia, it told Bursa Malaysia yesterday.

Salcon Engineering had signed a memorandum of understanding with Bupati Rokan Hilir three years ago for the construction and completion of intake works, water treatment plant, balancing reservoir, and raw and treated water trunk mains on a “built, operate and transfer” basis in Rokan Hilir, Riau.

Salcon said it decided to abort the project following a detailed technical, financial and feasibility studies.

7293 YINSON News: Yinson Sees Growing Demand In Marine Transportation Services.

JOHOR BARU: Yinson Holdings Bhd sees the global oil and gas (O&G) sector offering good business opportunities especially demand for the marine-related transportation services.

Chairman and executive director Lim Han Weng said demand for the marine-related transportation services would always be there as long as there were exploration activities taking place in the O&G sector worldwide.

He said in view of the good prospects from the sector, the company has decided to further expand its activities in the marine transportation services, which it ventured in 2008.

“This move is part of our diversification to reduce our dependency on the land transportation services which are becoming more competitive,” he said after the company EGM yesterday.

At the EGM, shareholders approved the proposal to expand business in the marine transportation activities by acquiring an offshore support vessel (OSV) for RM68mil.

The 3,000 tonnes OSV would be used to transport goods and personnel to and from offshore structures such as offshore oil platforms.

Lim said competition in the land transportation sector was becoming more intense over the years with over 1,000 players competing for the same pie.

He added that there were limitations in the sector as local service providers usually cover only Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand.

Meanwhile, executive director Lim Chern Yuan said that prospects was good in the OSV services segment as there were less than 50 service providers with just 100 OSVs worldwide.

“Demand for the OSV services is good especially in Australia, India, Middle Eastern and Southeast Asian countries,” he said.

Chern Yuan said demand for the OSV services in the region would increase especially in Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam with more new O&G exploration activities were expected to take place in the coming years.

He said Yinson has already been awarded two long-term OSVs contracts this year â€“ the first job is the seven-year contract from PetroVietnam Technical Services Corp, a unit of Vietnam state-owned Vietnam Oil and Gas Group.

The second is to assist and service the operations of Petronas Carigali Vietnam Ltd, in collaboration with Kencana Nautilus Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Kencana Petroleum Bhd.

（吉隆坡）馬化置地（MULPHAL, 7889, 主板產業組）建議把每股面值1令吉的股票削資90仙至10仙，入賬8220萬令吉以全面註銷虧損和作為資本儲備。

這間公司發文告指出，一旦削資完成，發行與繳足資本將自9132萬1000令吉減至913萬 2100令吉。

截至去年12月31日止，集團的未審核虧損達約340萬令吉，公司的未審核虧損則是480萬令吉。

削資建議預計於第4季完成，這間公司希望藉削資去除累積虧損並強化資產債務表。

此外，這間公司股價2008年2月以來，已以低過1令吉水平交易，截至5月7日的收市價已折價 42%至58仙，這間公司認為，削資讓公司的籌資能力更具彈性，以期在未來透過發售新股來執行企業計劃。

這間公司發文告指出，由於公司汽車業務長期虧損，上述計劃讓公司脫離汽車業務，並立即籌資以收購其他業務、擴展現有業務及降低負債率。

脫售計劃預計今年杪完成，並得以讓公司獲得2298萬令吉一次性賺益，相等於每股盈利16.5 仙。
