Pinkcess` the night duty

one nite a week we take lil pinkcess dhaniah home. it has been quite a challenge since it's been quite awhile that i look after a baby let alone an extreme premature baby like "Nya-Nya" since my boy Laith was born almost 12 years ago. of course i've babysitted some of my nieces and nephews but seldom on nite duties.

well i guess it's kinda cool that the house gets to have a baby even though for just one night
she is easy to handle when she's well fed and not have tummy upset. she doesn't wake up in the middle of the night and hardly cries except when she does a poo-poo...that's her ultimate enemy number one!! xD

looking at her, it's hard to believe that she'll be turning one in a month's time, she is still as fragile as a newborn baby. hopefully she'll be stronger and healthier just like all the children her age soon.

my potted herbs

While waiting for mehubby at a meeting at Bangsar Shopping Centre yesterday. i wondered about and found myself buying these little darlings at Cold Storage supermarket..

These herbs are not commonly found fresh locally let alone still living in a pot...as much as i`d like to buy all. Apart from they are quite pricey i thought i`ll try grow these 3 (rosemary, chives n basil) first and see how well they can adept at my house environment.

It's always a dream of mine to start an herb garden at my place but didn't really have the time to care for them. With these, they are in tiny pots and i could just place them at my kitchen window sill.

So let's see how well they grow..

Broga Hills ` the 1st attempt 26/1/12

my parents in law live in Semenyih since the 1980s. when i married mehubby 12 years ago, we practically go back and forth shah alam (where we lived the 1st 7 years of our married life)- Semenyih almost every weekend and in the last 5 years, we've made Semenyih home. embarssingly, through out this years..i've never been up to that recently (hmm... not quite recently actualy, more or less about 5-6 years ago)made famouse Broga Hills which is situated at the border of Semenyih(Selangor) & Lenggeng (Negeri Sembilan). what is even shamefull is that i only found out about it through a newspaper article about ( again) 5-6 years ago*blush*

why is it so special, u might ask...well, hills in Malaysia are mostly (except for the golf courses) surrounded by trees, palm trees, rubber trees, fruit trees, oak trees and all the trees there is to be found in Malaysia up on the hills and mountains here...but Broga Hills, the hills are covered by tall blady grass or is it elephant grass? or locally known as lalang...hence i nicked it Bukit Lalang (bladey grass hills) why hills? because there are about 3 1/2 peaks on Broga hills.

so began my series of coaxing and cajoling the hub hub to accompany me up the hills...sadly ..there wasn't a "jack and jill went up the hills" ever to happen...mehubby was just too uninterested doing the hiking if paintballing is not part of it :P

i even tried my brothers, SILs, cousins and friends to hike up with me...some were just plain uninterested and some...well if shopping or karaokaeing is not part of it..they're just not interested...:P

when i started doing some researching, i found so many blogs writing about it and these people came from all over the country and some FB freinds even posted their pictures up on the hills which is just around the corner from where we live..hmmm ok may be not quite around the corner but about 12-15 minutes drive from where we live...but still u know it's kind of awkward not ever been even at the foot of the hill and even to know where the entrance to the car park is?

i even asked one of the blogger ( that's i've been following) that's been there to invite me along if she's going to be going up there again(she managed to catch the sun rise the 1st time and thought of catching the sunset soon, she wrote) so i said please, oh please invite me along....hahaha...how pathethic can that be...*blush*blush*

after looking at pictures after pictures on Fb, reading articles after articles on the newspaper and blogs after blogs about Broga Hills i thought enough is enough..i got sore butts at reading and looking so on impulse, last chinese new year holiday after seeing the kids' butts were all glued on the chairs/ stools playing computers games hours after hours and constantly on Fb...(frankly, fb should seriously be banned...it makes the kids( and 'kids at heart' people) forgot all about the people around them and have no sense of wanting to do outdoors activities..) anyway, after taking them to have a deep at Sungai Tekala i asked if anyone was interested to follow me hike up the hills the next morning and the response was surprisingly encouraging...Mike was the first to say he's interested, after a quick thought and not knowing what to expect Laith agreed to come along and follow the buffalow was Sam...:D

i was really excited at the prospect of finally getting my butts up there after so long and hope to catch the sun rise if possible. from the many blogs i read they said if we planned to catch the sun rise it's best to be at the foot of the hils by 6am hmmm...that's just way too early during school holidays ain't it...anyhow, we managed to get ready and be at the foot of the hills at 645am..which was not so bad considering that hiking up with 3 children aged 11, 10 and 8 in the early hour of a still dark morning would be quite dangerous the first time since it's quite a difficult track up to the foot of the 1st peak i found out later. fortunately, we started out rather late that makes the hike bearable.

Frankly it was very challenging even though it's only 1.7km in total of the 3 peaks. it took us (me and laith especially)about 50minutes after taking more than a dozen of huffing and puffing brakes...for the more fitter people, they could do it in about 30 minutes or even less to reach the foot of the 1st peak.

the thing was i thought at the end of the track it would just be a breeze walk up to the 1st peak and in all honesty i had no idea that when we finally reached the foot of the 1st hill, we had to do a serious climb up...but...since i've so wanted to do it for a long time...we decided to brave it out...and we did...only problem was in the middle of the climb, sam decided to give up and not finish to the peak however much we persuaded him, he just refused to go on up. as all 3 of us; laith (also almost didn't make it to 1st summit and wanted to stay with sam), mike and me reached the top of the 1st hill. as much as we wanted to continue on (oh btw we've missed the sun rise at this time, in case u wonder ;P)

i decided to abandon our mission as not wanting to leave sam in the middle of nowhere- neither the foot nor the peak of the hill...with people climbing up and going down the steep hill, it would be very dangerous for a child that age to be on his own.

we started our journey down with heavy heart but at least we've made it to the first top this 1st attempt.
according to my Android RunKeeper apps we made it up from the parking space to the top and back down again in 1:40:54, average min/km 56:20 & total of 1.59km.
well not bad for a first timer with children in tow...

u ca use the rope or u can also bumpy slide down...it's ur personal choice..

Kak Ruby Oh Kak Ruby Part 2

while waiting for mehubby at a meeting yesterday, i noticed that i received a missed call from a number that was not in my contact list. the number however looked similar to my 3rd brother- ateh's but after checking his number against my contact list it was confirmed that it was not. i thought it could probably be either one of Laith's friends or it could be someone inquiring for our face painting services so i returned the call.

the strangest thing happened after pressing the dialer button, the screen went blank! after pressing the back button, the menu button without any success, i had to restart the phone which was so weird because that never happened before (only just had the phone for about 2 months now).

for someone who rarely return missed calls from unknown numbers for some mysterious reasons i was determine to find out whose mystery number it would belong to so i pressed the dialer button one more time. this time it was being answered by a lady's voice....certainly not my brother's voice...

me: hello, hi i received a missed call from this number..

the voice: missed call!? ( sounded (half) surprise)

me: yeah, a missed call from ur number so i thought to just return the call and find out.

the voice: owh...err...

me: (not being rude, but thinking she just probably had dialed a wrong number, i cut in) owh, it's probably just a wrong number, kot...( i said)

the voice: errh..no, no, no but ur name appeared on my screen when u call...are u Aida?

me: yes ( ok so she has my contact number but not sure why she's calling me? and that means it's not inquiring client cos i usually advertise as Sunny rather than Aida) and u are?

the voice: this is Ruby/Kak ruby/ Aunty Ruby...

and my heart SKIPPED a beat!!!
lucky i didn't have a heart attack....
OMG.....whatdaFish....!!!

after 4 years that super creepy insident happened i thought i was finally at peace when i never heard or saw her again...and of all the unknown missed call numbers that i never bothered to return call, i decided to return this one particular number!!! *sigh*

One Missed Call

so as fast as a lightning i said;

me: err...owh...i think u got a wrong number...

the voice (now known as kak Ruby): may be not, cos ur name appeared on my screen, are u a golfer?

me: err..yes....(with greeted teeth)

Kak Ruby: are u from SIGC (Seremban International Golf Club) or SGCC(Staffield Golf & Country Club)? which is ur home corse?

me: (just like last time..not knowing how to end the conversation, i obliged) Staffield.

Kak Ruby (excitedly said): so do i. my home course is staffield too...!!!

(errr...don't i know that...u think...*blerggghhh*)

me: ohh...hahaha( a polite but trying to get away hahaha...)but.... ( i said quickly...) i have not been playing golf for quite a while now....( hoping that she didn't realise that i still remember how i met her and how she had called me up one night about 4 years ago and insisted that she could talk to either my father- in- law or my my mother- in- law...)

Kak Ruby: i guess we must have met at the changing room ke at the golf terrace ke kan...hahhaha (laughing heartily ~ suka kau ye Kak Ruby!!!)...

me: i guess so...hahhah. ( deep down- oh plese God, let me out of this conversation now...) but so sorry i don't remember.... i only return the call thinking it's my brother since ur number and his are quite similar...

Kak Ruby: it's ok...i'm sorry too...i must have pressed ur number unintentionally i guess...haha...

trully... for some reasons i don't remember how we ended the conversation...hopefully, i didn't promise her that i'll call her again or that we should keep in touch or ....Oh GOD... i sure hope that i did not actually promise to play golf with her or anything as buddy-buddy like that....-_____-

so that was creepy as hell...what ensued before during and after the phone call...
1st , my phone screen went blank and had to be restarted when i tried to return her call the 1st time. when, of all the unreturn missed calls, against all odds i decided to return hers...then we found out that some important documents in my hubby's (new) lap top were corrupted....(hahaha... that probably has no connections whatsoever to Kak Ruby but oh well u never know hey...) i came back to a not feeling well Laith for food poisoning (which has never had before) and this morning, after coming back from the gym, 2 (angry) birds just charged infront of the windscreen and my best guess from the look at my side mirror (and according to mehubby from his side mirror) both (angry) birdies died if not badly injured...talking about killing 2 birds with one stone..how about 2 angry birds committed suiside on our car!?

is that creepy or is that creepy?

it was my birthday last week. i am so grateful and blessed that i am still ALIVE and breathing!!! oh and not forgetting healthy too...to enjoy another seconds, minutes, hours, weeks, months and hopefully years of my life.

decided to go on low key this year, i hid my birth date on my facebook profile so that i could just enjoy the day the way i wanted it...just like another day or may be just like another weekend...so this was how i spent it...:D

what does that suppose to mean?
that... they are not worthy of living?
that... they are a bore?
that... people around him bore them to death?
that... they are a waste of time to other people?
or
that... other people is a waste of time to them?

what would their loved ones think of such a statement?
wouldn't it sound hurtful?
that even being around them, this person still thinks that s/he has NO Life?
wouldn't it sound so embarrassing to their loved ones that, what the person literally imply is,"U make my life such a bore'? that ' i have to indulge in something to entertain myself'.

Do be careful when updating ur fb status or twitter or simply making a statement. U might not mean literally but to some sensitive emotional soul it could be very hurtful.

Sayonara 2011, Good Riddance, Hasta la Vista, babay!!1

unlike all the previous years thru out my life, 2011 is one year that i just can't wait to get rid off as soon as it hits the fist quarter of the year. there were just so many sad happenings thru and thru, from losing someone dear to losing someone new.... there were just too many to list down or this post will never get to be published.:P

as for last year, as usual on the last day of the year; mehubby, Laith & i did some recollection of the past events through out the year. each one of us listed down what were the highlights of the ups & the downs of the year...
in summary, we all agreed that the Singapore trip to Universal Studios that we made in September (which i have yet to post) was about the only thing that we mutually enjoyed. Laith also mentioned that his Birthday party was superb and the best he'd ever had ( Hmmm...how about the one before that and the ones before that and that...? ) & hinted that he wants another party just like it this year.:P
we also unanimously agreed that losing our newborn lil nephew~Suffian Mikhail was the saddest moment in our life. it was one trying moment emotionally. for the family.
as for myself, there were quite a few more events that i would rather not write about which was equally heartbreaking & buckets of tears 'wasting' moments....:'(
oh and not to forget the trips that i had to make to Laith's school for being caught misbehaving quite a number of times...*___________*...what a nightmare! :(
~stern WARNING to Laith: "u better behave well this year dear boy or else..'' (let's just hope i don't have to finish that sentence ever....)

still i believe( i can fly) that everything that happens, happens for a reason, we may find out ( the whys) later on or perhaps will remain a mystery but every cloud has a silver lightning. take every moment as part of our learning process and always, always count on our blessings...

So let's Welcome 2012 with open dragon's arms... hope that whatever the year has to offer, it shall be better than it was last year ( for me personally).this year may be predicted as the beginning of the end but who are we to predict, let's leave that to the mighty Lord to decide, shall we...;)

as for me, myself and moi, the day was spent shooting...pictures at tanamera paintball field which mehubby was playing.. initially, the event was suppose to be held at a different venue~ TourBunkers Paintballer in Puncak Alam (which was more to the reason why i followed since we've never been there before) however, due to some minor inconvenience, the event had to be moved to a different venue :(

it's December now, how time flies

hmm... where was i before i started singing or even before i started the post...
right...i was about to write about my weekend. so i followed mehubby to his paintball game (as always...) what's new..well not when i have things to do of course...;p
this place in Ulu Yam is unlike those other paintball field that we've frequent to, apart from the waterfall it is kinda smallish really (the field i meant), but perfect for those who have team building session in mind. accordingly the field doesn't really have a name, it's kinda belongs to this Hutlista Forest Retreat, so i guess that is what the field is known as.

this group of paintballers were mostly newbies and to be quite honest apart from mehubby & Laith & oh Pat (our new paintball acquaintance) i knew no one else there...but they were quietly n secretly excited when they found out that i was there to take some action pictures of them...hahaha....yeah right, as if...;p

although we were there for just one game, i manged to snap quite a few pictures just for the memory of the day...

this, this however is my only picture there...;?

KFC Krushers vs McDonald Mcflurry

Dear KFC, U suck!!
after making me, myhubby & son tasted & then hooked on them Krushers, they are not available at any one of your outlet in Semenyih nor Kajang area! u have 4 outlets which are closed by to each other in Semenyih area alone but not ONE, i repeat NOT ONE of it serves those sinfully yummy Krushers!!! it's been months now since u've launched them, and everytime we go (at one of ur 4 outlets ( and sometime all four since they are so near to each other) in Semenyih) and ask for them Krushers, ur staff would simply answer" we don't serve them, mam."
like what??? do u think we ( the people in Kajang) are that remote or too 'kampung' to enjoy ur oh so freaking awesome Krushers??? last nite, we tried our luck again and went to your outlet in Kajang (metro point) only to be told the only outlet that actually serve them Krushers is in Bangi. say what? that is like 35 minutes drive away, u ignoramus!!! so the only time we could get our Krushers fix is when we go out of Kajang, how sad...:(
anyway it's ur loss, we can't have them gorgeous Krushers we'll just substitute with McFlurry instead...those Cornetto McFlurry, Cookies & Cream & Milo Supreme are just as yummy & to die for too u know... ;P

Friday last, SunnyStar (have not updated the site yet) was given the opportunity to participate in the Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign organised by Estee Lauder Companies at Pavilion, KL.
this Campaign was established in 1992 with the main objective of promoting the message that early detection of breast cancer saves live. so we were there to help paint the pink ribbon on the volunteers & supporters.

know how it feels when someone abruptly hung up on u (note:u as a friend not a tele- marketeer (which people often do) cos they don't get u to agree to things their way?

it is equivalently similar feeling to when someone slam the 'freaking' door in ur face! (Note: not that u're a MLM direct seller or a door to door sale person selling hairdryer mind u (...err hairdryer??? which people often do of course) but as once claimed best friend :'(

the initial reaction to that would of course be~DoubleU(2xU)TeeEFF MF shock! then followed by the combinations of anger, hurt, anguish, dishearten..well u get the idea...and finally u'll just resolve to...WhatEVER!!!

received a missed call sometime after midnight a few nights back. phone calls late at nite or early morning always put me into panic mode but since i didn't recognise the number so i just took it as a non intended call by the caller or to put it simply~ wrong number.

later the next day, i received a text message from that same number demanding to know whose number he/she had miscalled the night b4!? err...excuse me, isn't that suppose to be the other way round? *___________*

anyway these were the texts exchange between us...:P

me: who's tat?

stranger: Who ru? (err...who ru?)
me: I is me, U is who?

stranger: Amir. And U? (could it be my brother Amir aka A2? but of course i'd know my brother's number wouldn't i)

how to order? got online store or not or may be facebook? this store at in Sg Wang or Pavilion? what's the name of ur shop? (well.... it was raining with thunder n lightning.... i had to switch off the puter, and i got bored...:P )

me: Congratulations! i'll ask my mum to go there when she's there.. (hahaha...trying to confuse him i did, & that certainly a tacky name for a shop at Pavilion, Sg Wang maybe, but definitely not Pavilion material!)

stranger: I rasa pelik...Did your parents give u tiz name?

me: yes they did. We all hv weird names except for my brother who has a similar name as u.

stranger: Tq...U wear g-strings? (what's the tq for anyway...n trying to b cheaky did he?)
me: my mum does, this is her phone btw...hehehe...

stranger: ohk. Sowie then!
me: hehehe... but ill ask mum to go check out ur shop whenever she goes to pavilion k, nice chatting with u Mr similar name with my brother!

ok just a little sneak peek over my little trip to the lion city of singapore ...

this little post is just about my stupid little mission,

the mission was: take a picture or pictures while trying to drink the 'lion water' , no, not new water but lion water:P

first, i experimented with Laith(his name literally means the lion cub in arabic)

nahh doesn't look very convincing, the lion is just too far away....


nope...still too far away....


i said look straight ahead & open ur mouth wide!

there with marina Bay Sands in the background...perfect! although from his expression, the water definitely taste like lion...:P

now it's my turn...

perfect the 1st time. but if u think i was satisfied with this one...think again...i wasn't happy with the merlion's angle

perfect merlion angle but mission failed...

after a few more trial & error of lion water on the face, on the nose, finally it landed right into my mouth...meyubby had to actually pulled my hair to really tilt my head for this shot...:P

although Laith & meyubby got really tired waiting & trying for my perfect shot we, well at least i had fun doing it...:P
