Could YouTube integrate into your television watching? Weirdly enough it might one day. According to the director of product management at YouTube, Hunter Walk, the competition does not exist on the internet rather it is with television.
If YouTube made a New Years Resolution as we enter into 2010, it would be to increase the amount of time on site. This goal is said to be achieved by suggesting more videos a type of user might watch, in return would keep them watching and watching some more.
Market research company, comScore, figured that searchers queried 3.8 million times in November of 2009.  Most of the videos queried were those that the user heard about before entering the site. YouTube’s new quest will try and suggest more related videos to the user to keep them going. This was achieved already by google suggesting search queries and search results based on personalized searching.
This may seem like a hard task to take on, but YouTube pretty much has this in the bag.

‘m sure everyone say this coming a mile away, Google real-time search. The internet can undoubtedly bring us information faster and from around the globe even as the information develops.

Google is working towards that goal as it now released real-time tweets, Facebooking, Blogging, and News as it rolls at. Google is indexing faster and harder to get information quicker to speed the delivering of information. Funny part about the real-time search is the first search with this functionality was “woods tiger”. If you don’t know why this is a hot search, get from under that rock.

This is just the beginning of faster more diverse information at the click of a mouse. Lets see where this goes.

This is no doubt about it, Google Chrome has made browser success. Officially grabbing market share and happy users. The only thing that it has needed from the get-go are extensions. Mozilla Firefox takes the cake for browser usage since it allows the adding on of extensions to make your life browsing on the internet easier and easier.
Google recently introduced its Google Chrome extension website which will be pushing out extensions made by third-party developers. Some of these extensions include a Gmail extension, providing you with a one click access to your gmail account. Another extension that will make fellow developers happy is a Chrome IE tab, which switch the browser switch to an internet explorer view.  Other extensions include a flickr extensions and plenty of Social extensions for all your Facebooking and Twittering. We’re pretty excited.

The big question about huge companies that boom in the marketplace is usually, how are they gonna make money? That was the case with Facebook before it started it’s advertising program and it is now the case with Twitter.

Twitter COO, Dick Costolo gave hint about the companies soon to be in production, advertising business. Twitter needed a revenue model from the beginning, it was only a matter of time before they unveiled one. According to TechCrunch, Costolo was pretty quiet about it but he said that it “will be fascinating. Non-traditional. And people will love it… It’s going to be really cool.”

How they will integrate the advertising will be very interesting. Will it be in the stream? On the right rail? How will the ads relate? I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

The Motorola Droid hasn’t even been out for a week and it is already lost its hype with Apple rumors. Google even jumped up the marketing efforts of Droid on it’s classic homepage but it just can’t compete with the revolutionary Apple iPhone.
Rumor has it that Apple is preparing to release a cheaper iPhone 3GS for the holiday season to take away the potential customers that Droid might have. The iPhone 3GS would be lowered to $99 bucks, beating the price tag of Droid which is sold for $200.
People are only chasing for Motorola Droids either because they are already sealed up in contracts with Verizon or because they were sold on the free turn-by-turn GPS from Google and the better camera. If you really did but the two phones up against each other, the iPhone would take the cake since it just so open and powerful. Nice try Droid but you might need to work on it a little more.

Recently, the humongous monopoly of the internet, Google, gave a giant slap to adwords advertisers. Google is mysterious in it’s many ways. People are always trying to crack the Google algorithmic code that pretty much are the rules we have to abide by to survive on the internet.

For those of you that advertise on the Google Adwords platform, you may be familiar with their Quality Score system that determines the relevance of your site to your keywords, to your ad, and to the searchers query. In the past month, Google began issuing emails to advertisers that had websites that didn’t match the very specific criteria of their Quality score. They specifically went after advertisers with a poor landing page.

Google not only reviewed sites but gave them a short amount of time to make the changes necessary for them to continue to be on Adwords. Some have made changes and some have been banished for all of eternity. The problem with this slap is that no one seems to be rereviewing the sites after they made the changes, so they are getting shut off anyways till they can finally after tons of frustration get a hold of one of the young Googlers in the office inbetween nap time and their volleyball games.

Will this be the next big Google change? If their willing to drop advertisers that pay hundreds of thousands of dollars a month, will they look back at their 3rd quarter and notice a huge loss? I can understand their strive to make a more relevant real-time search engine but they have to understand how much control they have on the internet and be careful with some of their improvements.

So what is Google Wave. The new feature that is going to take over Gmail, Google Wave, is a technology developed to combine email, instant messaging, social networks, and information. It will be the real-time flow data that will help people collaborate easier on the web. This new feature was previewed in May of this year and has recently been opened to some customers and developers who wanted to be the first.
A wave is created in Gmail when they create a “blip,” which is when  basically a message. Users can drag and drop just about anything in a conversation or a wave. So what is all the hype about this, you ask? Google is always focusing on giving users an area where they can give real-time information while keeping Googlers on Google.
Gmail as certainly taken over as the popular email service. Lets just see who steps up to compete.

The largest virtual hangout, Habbo, will cater to Twilight fans around the world to get them pumped for the second installment of The Twilight Saga. Habbo is already used by more than 12 million teenagers around the world. It has pumped up Hollywood stuff before including “American Idol” and “Heroes.”

Habbo plans on developing rooms that are Twilight oriented and will cater parties for all Twilight fans online. The marketing on the virtual hangout spot will get fans ready fot the November 20th release of “The Twilight Saga: New Moon.”

Im sure this is one of many places that will become Twilight themed to get fans crazy for the new movie.

Get ready New Jersey, the Twilight convention is coming this weekend. The convention will take place at the Hilton Hotel in Parsippany August 28-30th. The hotel is preparing for what is expected to be thousands of hungry vampire Twilight fans.

The three-day convention will include appearances by Edi Gathegi, Gil Birmingham, Chaske Spencer, Kiowa Gordon, Alex Meraz, and Justin Chon. The characters are all in the upcoming “New Moon” film that hits theaters this November. Also making an appearance is Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke.

This isn’t the first, nor the last Twilight convention. This is one of many stops that will happen over the next 3 years as the saga continues. San Francisco has already hosted the event earlier this year. The convention includes plenty of photo opportunities, star meetings and discussion, and of course a vampire ball.

It took years to get conventions started for the legendary Star Wars Franchise, Twilight conventions took about a year. That’s right, a Twilight convention. Over the next three years, fan conventions will be around the U.S and the rest of the world for 3 day fan conventions.

The convention has 20 stops so far and will let fans meet the cast members of “The Twilight Saga.” Im sure there will be a tone of photo sessions, movie talk seminars, and exclusive stuff for the die-hard fans.

This may be bigger then Star Wars and Comic Con all together.
