It's aspirational, yet deliciously attainable-- it was once described to me as a young Martha Stewart, but more glamorous.<br />
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/28189167@N04/7659842500/" title="SOUSTYLEXMYNEWROOTS by Underground Dining, on Flickr"><img alt="SOUSTYLEXMYNEWROOTS" height="426" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8427/7659842500_fb314a7b57_z.jpg" width="640" /></a><br />
In July 2012 (I'm catching up on my posts...)...<a href="http://sousstyle.com/">Sous Style</a> teamed up with Sarah Britton's <a href="http://www.mynewroots.org/site/">My New Roots</a> a renowned health food chef, to hold a raw foods cooking class and dinner in <a href="http://www.remodelista.com/posts/the-silkstone-loft-an-office-by-day-a-dining-club-by-night">Silkstone's kitchen and loft</a>, located in Chinatown New York.<br />
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/28189167@N04/9593709842/" title="silkstone inside and out by Underground Dining, on Flickr"><img alt="silkstone inside and out" height="427" src="http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5535/9593709842_e9db06162d_z.jpg" width="640" /></a><br />
New York by the way, never seizes to amaze me. You can never really judge a book by it's cover. On the 6th floor of this gentrified East Broadway subway line, holds an event space spacious enough to pitch a tent. More <a href="http://www.remodelista.com/posts/the-silkstone-loft-an-office-by-day-a-dining-club-by-night">pictures here</a>.<br />
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/28189167@N04/7659806096/" title="http://sousstyle.com/2012/07/25/sous-style-x-my-new-roots-2/ by Underground Dining, on Flickr"><img alt="http://sousstyle.com/2012/07/25/sous-style-x-my-new-roots-2/" height="478" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8028/7659806096_3d3f669a0f_z.jpg" width="640" /></a><br />
Sarah gave an interactive informational raw foods course...<br />
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/28189167@N04/7659799670/" title="http://sousstyle.com/2012/07/25/sous-style-x-my-new-roots-2/ by Underground Dining, on Flickr"><img alt="http://sousstyle.com/2012/07/25/sous-style-x-my-new-roots-2/" height="427" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7120/7659799670_5f37d8cf18_z.jpg" width="640" /></a><br />
...showing us how simple it is to use fresh produce to make an amazing meal.<br />
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/28189167@N04/7659801870/" title="http://sousstyle.com/2012/07/25/sous-style-x-my-new-roots-2/ by Underground Dining, on Flickr"><img alt="http://sousstyle.com/2012/07/25/sous-style-x-my-new-roots-2/" height="427" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8007/7659801870_56df8d0ebd_z.jpg" width="640" /></a><br />
A recipe card was made for us to take home.<br />
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/28189167@N04/7659799358/" title="http://sousstyle.com/2012/07/25/sous-style-x-my-new-roots-2/ by Underground Dining, on Flickr"><img alt="http://sousstyle.com/2012/07/25/sous-style-x-my-new-roots-2/" height="478" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7111/7659799358_74b1003a86_z.jpg" width="640" /></a><br />
And wah-lah, a fulfilling dinner is served. We ended up making the nut milk, hummus, nutty tacos wrapped in lettuce, fresh fruit-- simple.<br />
<br />
What was especially memorable about this dinner was that both hosts, Pippa and Sarah, sat down and dined with us. That doesn't happen frequently in these "supper club" type settings. We all introduced ourselves. Our commonality was healthy eating, bloggers looking for new experiences and well, finding both of these women inspirational. "How did you become a successful entrepreneur?" was a big question. Facing your fear and going after what you find true was basically the first step in their answers.<br />

There's a variety of things that I've been tackling along the years like traveling solo and learning to ask for help. My proudest moment to date was on July 27th. I danced to my hearts content! Sometimes (okay a big chunk of the time) I freeze when I dance. I'm enjoying the music in my head but my body won't move as freely. A lot has to do with being self conscious.<br />
<br />
So I went to a yoga/dance day-retreat at <a href="http://growingheartfarm.com/?page_id=1522">Growing Heart Farm</a> in upstate Harlem Valley Wingdale.<br />
<br />
When you get off of the <a href="http://as0.mta.info/mnr/schedules/sched_form.cfm">MNR</a> you're greeted by a beautiful yet eerie <a href="http://www.hvmag.com/Hudson-Valley-Magazine/October-2011/Hudson-Valley-Psychiatric-Hospitals-Insane-Asylums-and-Psych-Centers-of-Upstate-NY/index.php?cparticle=3&siarticle=2">deserted insane asylum</a>. You're then guided by <a href="http://www.farmtoyoga.com/abby-paloma/">Abby Paloma</a> founder of Growing Heart Farm along a paved road passing by golf courses..and then you hook a left...into the woods??? That was an unexpected turn.<br />
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/28189167@N04/9567974154/" title="1walk in by Underground Dining, on Flickr"><img alt="1walk in" height="427" src="http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3696/9567974154_88e6f11876_z.jpg" width="640" /></a><br />
Please excuse my pictures. My iphone camera lens is scratched up.<br />
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/28189167@N04/9565175671/" title="IMG_4338 by Underground Dining, on Flickr"><img alt="IMG_4338" height="478" src="http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3828/9565175671_b8afbdacbd_z.jpg" width="640" /></a><br />
Seriously in the woods. A thin trail lasting about 10 minutes.<br />
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/28189167@N04/9567965646/" title="IMG_4334 by Underground Dining, on Flickr"><img alt="IMG_4334" height="478" src="http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3774/9567965646_c26b269710_z.jpg" width="640" /></a><br />
Until you reach the farm. Beautiful. Worth the two hour train ride!<br />
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/28189167@N04/9567970370/" title="IMG_4304 by Underground Dining, on Flickr"><img alt="IMG_4304" height="478" src="http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3749/9567970370_fc761a2e4f_z.jpg" width="640" /></a><br />
So <a href="http://growingheartfarm.com/?page_id=45">Growing Hearts Farm is a CSA</a> farm, providing produce in multiple areas of Manhattan and Brooklyn. They open their farm for <a href="http://www.farmtoyoga.com/newyork/">camping</a>, educational purposes and dinners under the name <a href="http://www.farmtoyoga.com/">Farm To Yoga</a>. Every event (their <a href="http://www.farmtoyoga.com/newyork/">last dinner for the season is October 12</a>) is different. The one I went to specifically coordinated with <a href="http://getyourdanceon.tumblr.com/music">DJ Natasha Blank</a> of <a href="http://getyourdanceon.tumblr.com/">Get Your Dance On</a>.<br />
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/28189167@N04/9567973850/" title="IMG_4297 by Underground Dining, on Flickr"><img alt="IMG_4297" height="478" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7323/9567973850_522bec4d34_z.jpg" width="640" /></a><br />
It's a full day event with ground tours and tasting from the land...<br />
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/28189167@N04/9565177943/" title="IMG_4303 by Underground Dining, on Flickr"><img alt="IMG_4303" height="478" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7354/9565177943_0dc37e5009_z.jpg" width="640" /></a><br />
Lounging under huge tent toppled with oversized pillows, guitar playing, singing, hula hoops.<br />
<object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" data="http://www.flickr.com/apps/video/stewart.swf?v=109786" height="360" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="640"> <param name="flashvars" value="intl_lang=en-us&photo_secret=c6d7460ba3&photo_id=9567964802&hd_default=false"></param>
<param name="movie" value="http://www.flickr.com/apps/video/stewart.swf?v=109786"></param>
<param name="bgcolor" value="#000000"></param>
<param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param>
<embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" src="http://www.flickr.com/apps/video/stewart.swf?v=109786" bgcolor="#000000" allowfullscreen="true" flashvars="intl_lang=en-us&photo_secret=c6d7460ba3&photo_id=9567964802&hd_default=false" height="360" width="640"></embed></object><br />
<div>
And then Abby warms us up with a few yoga sequences. Yoga in nature feels 10xs better than a studio with hardwood floors. Mats were provided but many opted out.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Natasha then eases us into the dance session, making us walk in a large circle on the plush grass. I feel silly. I look at the ground a lot, not wanting to make eye contact. My movements are stiff. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Soon, the music changes, Natasha makes us close our eyes and sway to the music. I am shy. I close my eyes. I peek to check out the crowd but everyone is in their own element. I sway. Then sway some more. The music is actually very therapeutic. I relax. We flow. The music picks up. Confidence grows. The energy rises. Everyone is dancing--not like when you're at a bar/club trying to "look" a certain way. There's no sexy music playing. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Natasha partners us up, switches us, partners us up again with another yogi, repeat. You feed off of everyone's energy. I feel no judgement. This is actually...easy. We synchronize our movements with each other--our elbows, then our feet, you lead, I lead. By the time we walked around in circles again, my chin is lifted and I am prancing around. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
This clip is after over an hour of dancing. I think it's amazing how comfortable we got in our skin-- sober. No drugs, no alcohol. It's a liberating feeling-- finding <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7fDuNuFNG38">your inner ninja</a>. </div>
<div>
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/28189167@N04/9565182889/" title="4food by Underground Dining, on Flickr"><img alt="4food" height="427" src="http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2847/9565182889_13a8208e49_z.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div>
Afterwards we ate an earthy, nourishing meal made grown from the farm. </div>
<br />

When Javier of <a href="http://comedorclandestino.blogspot.com/">Comedor Clandestino</a> reached out to me about his supper club, I wasn't sure when I would be in Barcelona to attend. Luckily my good friend Susan and Vahndi were visiting this past June and I sent them the invitation. Check out the youtube below for an interview of their amazing cuisine and hospitality.<br />

The <a href="http://redhookcrit.com/">Red Hook Crit</a>, is an adrenaline filled bike race that started in the streets of Brooklyn in 2008. This past Saturday, the desolate Brooklyn Terminal was packed with spectators cheering-on cyclists riding fixed gears (no brakes, no coasting whatsoever), blazing 28 miles any hour, tailing each other for 25 laps on a 1 mile loop course. <a href="http://results.active.com/events/red-hook-crit">Neil Bezdek</a> finished first in 41:32 minutes!<br />
<br />
I rode the same course afterwards and I could not for the life of me stop from instinctively hitting my breaks to slow down around each curve. #nogutsnoglory<br />
<iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="480" mozallowfullscreen="" src="http://player.vimeo.com/video/62875819" webkitallowfullscreen="" width="640"></iframe><br />
The next race is <a href="http://redhookcrit.com/event-info/">June 9th in the Brooklyn Navy Yard</a>, followed by Barcelona, then Milano.www.undergrounddining.blogspot.comhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10733971508210459330noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8104810996716831669.post-45824827441790384442013-04-02T09:18:00.000-04:002013-04-02T17:55:06.215-04:00Jay Shells Drops "Rap Quotes"<iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/54yahfgbqQE" width="640"></iframe><br />
New York artist, <a href="http://animalnewyork.com/2013/jay-shells-rap-quotes/">Jay Shells'</a>, most recent art project plots exact street corners mentioned from rap songs and prints them on to street signs. Pretty laugh out loud creative. His pieces camouflage so well with regular traffic signs. I can just imagine a big smile spreading on a hip hop fan's face as they realize what they've discovered reading....<br />

It reminds me of riding out to 560 State Street back in 2009 when <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0UjsXo9l6I8">JayZ's Empire State of Mind</a> was released. <a href="http://goosebarnacle.com/visit/">Goose Barnacle</a>, a refined men's clothing shop on Atlantic Avenue, hosted their 8th artshow this past Thursday featuring artist <a href="http://halleyzien.com/home.html">Halley Zien</a>. Halley is known for translating the human psyche and exaggerating our inner thoughts into caricatures. <br />
<div>
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/28189167@N04/8602336864/" title="Halley Zien by Underground Dining, on Flickr"><img alt="Halley Zien" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8112/8602336864_69e4d34602_z.jpg" height="530" width="444" /></a></div>
<div>
This colorful 60"x70" of "The Pool", caught my eye. Halley distorts magazine cuttings of objects like a hand, sunglasses, or swimsuits and layers them into the artwork bandaging them so well that you really have to look up close to see what the images really are and how they translate to the painting. It's kind of like getting to know someone new and sorting out what you want to see vs who they really are vs what they're projecting. Very complex.<br />
<br /></div>

On November 14th, <a href="http://adamaleksanderpresents.com/?page_id=1884">Adam Aleksander </a>curated the 30th anniversary and celebration of the 2012 vintage <a href="http://www.duboeuf.com/#">Georges Duboeuf Beaujolais Nouveau wine</a>. He took the Highline Ballroom and transformed it into a magical world filled with magicians, acrobats, ladies on stilts...<br />

If you've never been to an Adam Aleksander event, it's not to be missed. He brings you into this fantasy dream that you never though could exist. Join him at his supper club, <a href="http://lessalonnieres.com/">Les Salonnieres</a>, this Sunday, themed The 7 Deadly Sins. This <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YlGqN3AKOsA">Portlandia </a>episode made me laugh. What I've learned during my brief hiatus is that the fun part of life is discovering new ideas, being a positive influence and growing. We all influence each other. Everything evolves and changes. Even supper clubs. xowww.undergrounddining.blogspot.comhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10733971508210459330noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8104810996716831669.post-33770886128177528772012-07-26T23:28:00.000-04:002012-07-26T23:28:00.855-04:00Farm to Table Yoga Dinner: Upstate NY<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/28189167@N04/7653978366/" title="http://growingheartfarm.com/?page_id=2824 by Underground Dining, on Flickr"><img alt="http://growingheartfarm.com/?page_id=2824" height="570" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8423/7653978366_930fda1707_z.jpg" width="563" /></a><br />
<a href="http://growingheartfarm.com/?page_id=2824">Growing Heart Farm</a>'s has a combined two of my fondest activities together: yoga AND supper clubs. The <a href="http://as0.mta.info/mnr/schedules/sched_form.cfm">Metro North</a> takes you directly there. You'll get a tour of the farm, followed by yoga class, ending with dinner. Cost is $60. **The catch for me though is that <a href="http://www.undergrounddiningnyc.com/2010/11/supper-club-18th-restaurant.html">Anne Apparu</a> is the chef for 8/18, 9/16, and 10/6-- and while I love the concept of making a getaway upstate and working on my downward dog--I'm not willing to risk my Saturday to try her out again. You may enjoy her though; she's got <a href="http://momaps1.org/calendar/view/272/">good press from others</a>.www.undergrounddining.blogspot.comhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10733971508210459330noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8104810996716831669.post-37893194504376194212012-07-12T10:00:00.000-04:002012-07-12T23:46:34.680-04:00Upcoming Events: NY Philharmonic Week<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/28189167@N04/7553722942/" title="nyphil.org by Underground Dining, on Flickr"><img alt="nyphil.org" height="427" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7255/7553722942_b821495693_z.jpg" width="640" /></a><br />

No day should ever end without a proper down dog, right? <a href="http://centrecos.cat/index.php?start=22">Center Cos</a> (Gran de Gracia) and <a href="https://www.facebook.com/letsspeakyoga">Let's Speak Yoga</a> (La Eixample) were both English friendly speaking classes in the city. I managed to hold crow's pose for the first time ever in Center Cos because my teacher was determined for me to defeat my fear of breaking my wrists (it didn't break!) And as my 12 days in Barcelona were winding down, what I looked forward to the most was my 3 day getaway to the foothills of the Pirinees with <a href="http://www.sansyoga.com/en/">SansYoga</a> (Las Ramblas). </span><br />

<span style="background-color: black;">Yoga in the Catalan countryside was so picturesque and relaxing after a week of sites and sounds.</span><br />

The day is filled with meditation, two 90 minute yoga classes, three family style sit down meals from our in-house chef, and free time to hike/ride bicycles or do nothing at all.<br />
<br />
Many thanks to everyone for going out of their way to speak/translate/adding gestures to keep me in the conversations. A big IOU to <a href="https://www.facebook.com/scannerFM">Bruno</a> for the ride. And a big hug to Sandra for sharing her practice with me.<br />

<br />
Marisa's home is literally outside of the park. You can go hiking, running, see the view from the <a href="http://www.griffithobs.org/">Observatory</a>, eat at the <a href="http://www.yelp.com/biz/the-trails-los-angeles">Trails Cafe</a> all within a few steps. The surrounding neighborhoods are Los Feliz/ Silverlake which is comprable to Carroll Gardens, Forte Greene, and bits of Williamsburg. It's exactly the type of weekend retreat I needed before power shopping with my Buyers for the next 3 days straight.<br />

I love spring and I love color. So what could be better than combining them both into the World's Largest Rainbow Parade??? <a href="http://luckysoandso.com/">Jessi Arrington</a>, of <a href="http://workshoplovesyou.com/">Workshop</a>, who dresses even <a href="http://luckysoandso.com/outfits">more flashier </a>than I do (total girl crushing), enthusiastically set the <a href="http://recordsetter.com/">world's record</a> this weekend by parading 179 participants dressed from one color head to toe over the <a href="http://www.brooklynbridgepark.org/">Brooklyn Bridge</a> to Manhattan. Our rainbow of colors felt like a miniature version of <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holi">Holi</a> welcoming in Spring. Go #RainbowParade! Go #WorldRecordDay!<br />

This morning we witnessed the last flight of <a href="http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/04/27/space-shuttle-enterprise-_n_1458534.html">Space Shuttle Enterprise</a> on its' way to JFK. It blew my mind how something so ginormous could piggy back onto another ginormous plane and fly so fast! I felt like a little kid in amazement like, 'Whoah...How do airplanes fly? How do boats float? How does the internet work?" And then I saw this <a href="http://htwins.net/scale2/scale2.swf?bordercolor=white&fb_source=message">link</a> and my mind went bonkers. Thank goodness it's Friday. <a href="http://htwins.net/scale2/scale2.swf?bordercolor=white&fb_source=message">The Scale of The Universe</a>www.undergrounddining.blogspot.comhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10733971508210459330noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8104810996716831669.post-25711406379731047922012-04-23T00:00:00.000-04:002012-04-23T00:00:02.827-04:00Will Bike for Food: Rajbhog Sweets<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/28189167@N04/6954644084/" title="Rajbhog Sweets by Underground Dining, on Flickr"><img alt="Rajbhog Sweets" height="478" src="http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5463/6954644084_2b3310dc14_z.jpg" width="640" /></a><br />
It's spring time! That means more biking. The weather on April Fools was a bit temperamental, but we managed to ride out from Brooklyn to Jackson Heights with no rain.<br />
<br />
Getting into Queens has gotten simpler now that we're on <a href="http://www.undergrounddiningnyc.com/search/label/Will%20Bike%20For%20Food">our third run</a>. You should skip the Pulaski Bridge since its further west and just follow Greenpoint Avenue, which leads into Roosevelt Avenue. You ride straight on Roosevelt Avenue until you hit 73rd Street, make a left-- and you're at <a href="http://www.yelp.com/biz/rajbhog-sweets-jackson-heights">Rajbhog Sweets</a>! Just like that. No getting lost this time, about a 10 mile ride one way. But remember: no bike lanes.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.rajbhog.com/">Rajbhog Sweets</a> sells sweets, but also a steam table of an assortment of vegetarian South Indian food. They had the familiar: saag (spinach), tadka dal (chickpeas), gobi (cauliflower). But there were some dishes that I've never seen before and the guys at the counter were nice enough to give us free samples before ordering. My favorite were the black lentils, d<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dal_makhani">al makhani</a>-- it was unexpected a) having black lentils for the first time b) enjoyed the spices. Being introduced to new food and experiences is all part of the adventure. :) Also the masal chai is amazing here.<br />
<br />
For the price of everything, I have no complaints. $6 for two bowls + rice.<br />
P.S. They microwave your food in styrofoam in case that bothers you...my mom is always lecturing me about that.<br />

I've decided that I wanted to learn a little more about wine. Alas, no more judging bottles by their pretty labels...... what?... I'm a designer and therefore very visual.....<br />
<br />
So in an effort to learn, I took a $30 intro class at <a href="http://www.skillshare.com/Drink-Think-Practical-Wine-Tasting-Introductory-Reds/1403307004/1788695530">Skillshare</a> but was disappointed to come out of the class not much more knowledgable than before. I still wasn't able to descriptively tell you "why" I liked what I tasted, only that I did.<br />
<br />
In comes <a href="http://www.brooklynwineexchange.com/default.aspx">Brooklyn Wine Exchange</a> in Boerum Hill (same owners of <a href="http://www.stinkybklyn.com/">Stinky Brooklyn</a> and <a href="http://www.smithandvine.com/">Smith & Vine</a>) who holds <a href="http://www.brooklynwineexchange.com/NewsArchive.aspx">free, yes free, wine classes</a> throughout the week. This month focused on reds and each class was narrowed down by varietal grapes.<br />
<br />
I've attended the Pinot Noir and Merlot classes so far and was able to describe more in depth the appearance, nose and palate of each wine. It seems that I like stronger, bolder flavors that are oakey, velvety and spicy. This kind of makes sense as I am big on <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Old_Fashioned">old fashioneds</a> and <a href="http://www.mezcal.com/">mezcal</a>. From my Pinot Noir class, I ended up buying a bottle of <a href="http://www.brooklynwineexchange.com/products/724-roots-klee-pinot-noir-willamette-valley-2010.aspx">Roots "Klee"</a> and purchasing another bottle I saw on display called <a href="http://www.brooklynwineexchange.com/products/217-mouton-noir-pinot-noir-opp-pinot-noir-2009.aspx">OPP</a> (okay, yes, I bought it because of the label and name, BUT with more knowledge that I like wines from Oregon, earthiness and Pinot Noirs, so there!). From my Merlot class, well, most of the one's we tasted were too briny and acidic for me. The only one that I would recommend would be the <a href="http://www.astorwines.com/SearchResultsSingle.aspx?p=1&search=24592&searchtype=Contains">Crosby Merlot</a> only because it was the sweetest of the 5 samples.<br />
<br />
Anyways, you can learn more at <a href="http://www.brooklynwineexchange.com/default.aspx">Brooklyn Wine Exchange</a>. There's a catch with the free class, which is, if you are not a member ($60 gets you discount and first dibs on classes) you can't make advanced reservations. If you don't mind a large crowd, <a href="http://googamooga.com/">The Great GoogaMooga</a> is cooking in Prospect Park May 19 + 20th. Get your <a href="http://googamooga.com/tickets/">tickets here</a>. I'd personally rather eat at each restaurant individually, but the clay animation is adorable :)<br />

I smiled seeing a trail of KONY posters around Carroll Gardens last night. I've been curious to see how far this <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y4MnpzG5Sqc">experiment of using media</a> could change how we react and at the same time help the <a href="http://www.invisiblechildren.com/">Invisible Children</a>. The youtube video went viral in March with over 88 million hits, it was shared throughout Facebook, written in the news. But shortly thereafter, the creator behind the film, Jason Russell <a href="http://www.tmz.com/2012/03/18/jason-russell-video-naked-meltdown-kony/#.T5N-s79SRuk">went mental</a>. I wondered how much of his naked escapade would effect people in caring for the cause or would it just turn into a joke/ phase out as a passing bandwagon. I wondered how much it could unite us all for a common cause.<br />
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/28189167@N04/6954839636/" title="kony2012 by Underground Dining, on Flickr"><img alt="kony2012" height="485" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7134/6954839636_2cc06fec26_z.jpg" width="640" /></a><br />

<span style="font-size: x-small;"><posters carroll="" found="" gardens="" in=""></posters></span><br />
Honestly, yes, I am embarrassed to be associated with Jason Russell, but I still believe in the message of the film, it hasn't changed. I don't think I saved the world by donating money or putting up posters last night in my neighborhood, but I do know that we were able to share the awareness to strangers who talked to us about the signs and that it's better than doing nothing at all because we lose by being indifferent.<br />

<span style="font-size: x-small;"><posters carroll="" found="" gardens="" in=""></posters></span><br />
I think if the KONY2012 campaign got 1 or 2 people together to believe in a cause and to take action, it isn't a failure.<br />
