Bible Promises Journal Entry - Angry? Here's What He Says To Do.

Do you feel angry? Someone at work or school tick you off?

Get out your day planner or cell phone and journal or text yourself about it.
Use this as a way of talking to God, instead of complaining to other imperfect people.

After you vent out all of that steam, just get quiet. Stop talking about it and pray and read the Holy Bible. Go to the restroom or close your room door; and then expectantly wait for God to speak to your spirit while you read His Word. I Corinthians 13 is a great place to start when you are angry.

God will help you deal with it in a healthy way. He promised:

Cast your cares on Him for He cares for you.
- 1 Peter 5:7 (paraphrased)

Just trust Him. You can not change other people, but He can turn their hearts around. Pray for them, and trust Him. Also, expect that while you are praying, He will show you how He has used the situation to help bring out some of your weaknesses. He will challenge you to come up another level in those areas.

Again, Just Trust Him.

My Definition of Foolishness:
Foolishness is separating the spiritual side of ourselves from other parts of our lives and “hiding our lights” so that other people’s inner demons won’t become agitated and uncomfortable. Jesus told us to “let your lights shine”, and that was his commandment, not just a good idea or suggestion.

Our Heavenly Father, who has created all humankind, provided Jesus for us all to reconnect us with Him so that He can be our Father and not just our creator. This is regardless of what religion, culture, or other past history that you have had.
This is a UNIVERSAL truth.

Daily Promises Journal - Imparting Your Faith Into Your Children

As you continue in your walk with the Lord, know that His promises are true, unshakeable and unbreakable.
The Lord does not change.

It is your responsibility to teach your children the Word of God and to impart your faith and reverence for God into them. Those three things cannot be separated: understanding God's Word, developing faith, and fearing the lord. We cannot teach our kids just to live morally "correct" lives and expect them to fully understand our faith without a solid understanding of the Holy Bible. Children need to have the Holy Bible as their unmovable, unshakable standard -- their go to -- no matter what mistakes you as a parent may make, no matter if they are separated from you, they'll always be able to depend on the Holy Bible and their personal love for and faith in God, their Heavenly Father.

⁹ Just make sure you stay alert. Keep close watch over yourselves. Don't forget anything of what you've seen. Don't let your heart wander off. Stay vigilant as long as you live. Teach what you've seen and heard to your children and grandchildren.
¹⁰ That day when you stood before God, your God, at Horeb, God said to me, "Assemble the people in my presence to listen to my words so that they will learn to fear me in holy fear for as long as they live on the land, and then they will teach these same words to their children."

Daily Promises Journal - God is For Husband - Wife Marriage

The Lord does not change.

The Lord God Almighty is the backer of the holy marriage covenant because He is its creator / author. It is the first human institution mentioned in the first book of the Holy Bible, Genesis. It is a holy covenant between a natural born man and his natural born woman.

^18-20 God said, "It's not good for the Man to be alone; I'll make him a helper, a companion." So God formed from the dirt of the ground all the animals of the field and all the birds of the air. He brought them to the Man to see what he would name them. Whatever the Man called each living creature, that was its name. The Man named the cattle, named the birds of the air, named the wild animals; but he didn't find a suitable companion.
^21-22 God put the Man into a deep sleep. As he slept he removed one of his ribs and replaced it with flesh. God then used the rib that he had taken from the Man to make Woman and presented her to the Man.

    ^23-25 The Man said,
   "Finally! Bone of my bone,
      flesh of my flesh!
   Name her Woman
      for she was made from Man."

As you continue in your walk with the Lord, know that His promises are true, unshakeable and unbreakable. The Lord does not change.

He promises that women who consistently seek to love God, their spouses and children, and who seek to serve and bless their communities will be honored by their husband and their children. You may be laughing to yourself because you may not feel that your family has been honoring you enough. Trust that if you do your part, God will certainly fulfill his end of this deal:

²⁶She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.
²⁷She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.
²⁸Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.
²⁹Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.

Daily Promises Journal - Deliverance from Poverty into Your Destiny Full of Hope

He has promised to deliver those who are in bondage, or trapped in servitude. He gives deliverance from no hope and no future into a future full of hope to fulfill your God-given destiny.

This is especially relevant for moms who have been home with their children and unable to find profitable work or business. NEVER GIVE UP!

^1-2 This is the letter that the prophet Jeremiah sent from Jerusalem to what was left of the elders among the exiles, to the priests and prophets and all the exiles whom Nebuchadnezzar had taken to Babylon from Jerusalem, including King Jehoiachin, the queen mother, the government leaders, and all the skilled laborers and craftsmen.
³The letter was carried by Elasah son of Shaphan and Gemariah son of Hilkiah, whom Zedekiah king of Judah had sent to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon. The letter said:

Gratitude: Parentage and Parenting

This is my third post to share about what I am grateful for in this blessed life of mine.

I have two of the best parents anyone could ever ask for. I truly took them for granted when I was younger. In my teens, I could only see their faults. However, now, as a parent, I see their strengths and am even more grateful because I can see how they have rubbed off on my parenting in good ways.

My parents have always been committed to their parenting. Nowadays, they are both very committed grandparents. I grew up with two of the best grandparents anyone could ever dream of. So, I know that it is important for our kids to spend time with their grandparents. I learned so much from mine and now I see how mine are learning from their grandparents. I am so grateful that our kids have their grandparents and have had some great quality time with both of them this year and summer.

Life goes round and round -- the cycle always comes back to the same most vital things in life: relationships are everything. Most of all, I am thankful for my personal relationship with the Father God. He is flawless and helps me fill in the gaps of understanding and wisdom in my parenting. I so need Him to handle these three beautiful and unique little people every day.

It seems that I mostly lean on the Lord for handling discipline issues and sibling communication (fighting) issues lately during this summer season. Thank you, Lord, for helping me to be more and more like you in my parenting. I couldn't want anything more important than this.

Multitude Monday Post 2: Grateful for Celebrating Family, Friends & Freedom

Post 2 of 1,000 Gratitudes

I am so grateful for my birthday month of July because it is when I get to celebrate my awesome family and friends, not just because they celebrate me. This blog will help to serve this purpose, as they are so worthy of my praise, and I don't do this publically often.


The majestic Sabre Room of Chicago.

My husband and father really "wowed" me with an unexpected trip to Chicago for a very important family gathering on my mother's side. Even though my dad hasn't been married to my mom since I was a little girl, he has known her family since he was just a boy. So, his generosity to bless our family with a phenomenal vacation and then to spend the whole time with his ex-inlaws is awe-inspiring. That's the kind of daddy I have. 8)

It's so vitally important for parents to remember the importance of unconditional love and forgiveness, even when a marriage has ended in divorce. For the benefit of the whole family for posterity, not just the children only, it is best to find a way to reconcile and move forward. The grace that my parents have shown each other has been a blessing to me and my brother, especially as our kids are now in the mix.

I am also utterly grateful for our friend Taunya who watched the kids on Saturday evening so that we could attend this all-adult surprise birthday party at the Sabre Room in honor of my Auntie G's 60th birthday. I have a tendency to shy away from asking for help, but now realize what a blessing we would have missed out on if I had not asked. We were so blessed to spend time with her and her son and to be reunited after so many years since they moved from Atlanta.

Happy Birthday USA!

More than anything else, I am so grateful to our Lord God Almighty for blessing us with freedom in our country. We can drive state to state and arrive at our destination without being stopped and asked for papers. That is something that many people in this world don't have. I do not take it for granted. Thank You Father God!

Oh, and one last thing, I am also grateful for freedom from bondage to my past and to unforgiveness. I am free and keep others in my life free by refusing to live in the past. We are moving forward with grateful hearts.

A PROCLAMATION

The legacy of African-American composers, singers, songwriters, and musicians is an indelible piece of our Nation's culture. Generations of African Americans have carried forward the musical traditions of their forebears, blending old styles with innovative rhythms and sounds. They have enriched American music and captured the diversity of our Nation. During African-American Music Appreciation Month, we honor this rich heritage.
This legacy tells a story of ingenuity and faith. Amidst the injustice of slavery, African Americans lifted their voices to the heavens through spirituals. This religious music united African Americans and helped sustain them through one of the darkest periods in our Nation's history. Years later, spirituals contributed to the advent of a new form of music: gospel. Both styles incorporated elements of African music and were rooted in faith.

The African-American music tradition also reflects creativity and individualism. Blues, jazz, soul, and rock and roll synthesize various musical traditions to create altogether new sounds. Their novel chord progressions, improvisation, and mood showcase individual musicians while also creating a cohesive musical unit. In addition, African-American composers have thrived in traditional genres such as musical theater, opera, classical symphony, and choral music, providing their unique imprint and creatively growing these forms of music. All of these contributions are treasured across America and the world.

During African-American Music Appreciation Month, we recall the known and unknown musicians who helped create this musical history. Their contributions help illuminate the human experience and spirit, and they help us reflect on our Nation's ongoing narrative.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, BARACK OBAMA, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim June 2009 as African-American Music Appreciation Month. I call upon public officials, educators, and all the people of the United States to observe this month with appropriate more activities and programs that raise awareness and foster appreciation of music which is composed, arranged, and performed by African Americans.

Understanding Prayer's Power: National Day of Prayer Proclaimed for 5/6/10

Some of the best news in the world to share, is that people of our great nation, from the president to the school teacher to the student to the parent, are all coming together, privately and publically, to pray for our nation.

Our family is praying for our leaders in government and spiritual positions, locally and globally. We are praying for the families who've recently gone through disasters and tragedies of all types in our country and abroad.

God bless America and the World.

We especially pray for the souls of men and women, boys and girls, to be enlightened with the truth and hope of God's Word and promise of eternal life in Christ Jesus.

A PROCLAMATION

Throughout our history, whether in times of great joy and thanksgiving, or in times of great challenge and uncertainty, Americans have turned to prayer. In prayer, we have expressed gratitude and humility, sought guidance and forgiveness, and received inspiration and assistance, both in good times and in bad.
On this day, let us give thanks for the many blessings God has bestowed upon our Nation. Let us rejoice for the blessing of freedom both to believe and to live our beliefs, and for the many other freedoms and opportunities that bring us together as one Nation. Let us ask for wisdom, compassion, and discernment of justice as we address the great challenges of our time.
We are blessed to live in a Nation that counts freedom of conscience and free exercise of religion among its most fundamental principles, thereby ensuring that all people of goodwill may hold and practice their beliefs according to the dictates of their consciences. Prayer has been a sustaining way for many Americans of diverse faiths to express their most cherished beliefs, and thus we have long deemed it fitting and proper to publicly recognize the importance of prayer on this day across the Nation.
Let us remember in our thoughts and prayers those suffering from natural disasters in Haiti, Chile, and elsewhere, and the people from those countries and from around the world who have worked tirelessly and selflessly to render aid. Let us pray for the families of the West Virginia miners, and the people of Poland who so recently and unexpectedly lost many of their beloved leaders. Let us pray for the safety and success of those who have left home to serve in our Armed Forces, putting their lives at risk in order to make the world a safer place. As we remember them, let us not forget their families and the substantial sacrifices that they make every day. Let us remember the unsung heroes who struggle to build their communities, raise their families, and help their neighbors, for they are the wellspring of our greatness. Finally, let us remember in our thoughts and prayers those people everywhere who join us in the aspiration for a world that is just, peaceful, free, and respectful of the dignity of every human being.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, BARACK OBAMA, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and laws of the United States of America, do hereby proclaim May 6, 2010, as a National Day of Prayer. I call upon the citizens of our Nation to pray, or otherwise give thanks, in accordance with their own faiths and consciences, for our many freedoms and blessings, and I invite all people of faith to join me in asking for God's continued guidance, grace, and protection as we meet the challenges before us.

Understanding the Human Paradox: Being Both Good and Bad, Part I

I have both good and bad news for you, and will share the bad news first.

Part I

Bad News:

All humans are born into sin in this Earth, and separated from God by the locked gate called "the law of sin and death". The wages of sin are murder, sickness, poverty, destruction, and all of the horrible things we see on most news shows every day that lead to physical, financial, emotional, marital and other types of death.

No matter how good we are, we can not make up for our fatal human flaw: sin. No matter what, we are going to mess up, one way or another, even if we didn't intend to mess up. This is because sin causes all of us to be selfish, self-centered and to lack unconditional love for others, even if we do not want to be that way. We can not help ourselves.

Sometimes things we do may make us and others feel better in one area, but the other area(s) are going straight to hell. For example, some financially successful and socially respectable people have lost the trust and respect of their spouses and children. Some big-hearted, generous people are in prison for making bad choices and associating with the wrong people. Some institutions throughout the world have released their humble agents who have literally brought life where there was formerly no hope. However, due to bad choices by other agents, these same institutions are the butt of jokes and hatred.

All of this is the paradox of being human. We are a bit like God, able to create and give life (or improved life). However, at times we make bad, selfish, or unloving choices with our creativity that pervert its purpose and cause death, in some form or other. Usually, this is due to a lack of understanding that God is love. Love is what gives life to true god-like creativity.

When god-like people get too full of themselves to give honor and glory to God for enabling them to do what they do or become what they have become, we see creativity perverted. Horrible massacres are taking place in this wretched world every day because of prideful, disturbed and hate-filled pseudo-leaders who consider themselves as gods, but refuse to acknowledge the true and Living Almighty God. God is love, and without acknowledging His wisdom - without Love's guidance - we are nothing and whatever we do means nothing, in the end.

It is like here on Earth, we can stand at the gate and glimpse through the bars at Heaven, and even reach through to grasp some of its blessings. We can fill up our lives with good people, loved ones, good work, good food and more. We can have the accolades and affirmation of the masses. We can have a great time, from time to time. However, at the end of our lives, it is all for nothing if we still can not pass through that gate to get the fullness of Heaven on the other side of death.

The law of sin and death has no respect for who we are or aren't; what religion we subscribe to or don't; nor what deeds we do or don't. In the end, because we are all born into this corrupted world, our very nature, the core of our lives in this Earth, is "full" of sin - and it doesn't matter if we sin just a little or a whole lot more than others do.

Even a pica-drop of sin keeps us from living in the fullness of God's love. So, over time, sin takes life from parts of our lives. Eventually sin takes our physical lives and translates the inner us over into an eternity separated from God The Father by its gate, the law of sin and death.

I was so blessed this morning to see a wonderful interview with retired NBA star Alonzo Mourning on a Christian tv station. He discussed his recently released biography:

I don't usually post about books I haven't read, yet, but this is one that I know others need to hear about right away. His story is one of courage and trust in God. And, most of all, it's the story of someone allowing God's love to shine through them, even in the midst of their own trials.

Understanding Creativity: Shaping Your Own World

Many people tap into their inner creativity for creating arts and crafts or music. However, many people do not understand that God has made us in His image as creative beings. He has given us the same power to say things and see it manifested in our lives, just as He did when He created the world (see Genesis 1 and John 1).

If you read the biographies or autobiographies of any truly successful person - someone who has overcome past failures - you can see how they used positive imagery and positive self-talk to keep building a spiritual foundation for their success. A biblical example of this is King David. In the midst of his trial as a novice soldier facing a ferocious giant soldier, he verbally recalled passed victories and the promises of His God.

In some biographies, you may also see a chronicle of a journey to failure. Many times people say that what they feared most actually happened in real life. You can see this in the book of Job. Sometimes, if we don't get control of ourselves, our own negative self-talk and worry (a form of negative meditation) can lead us into failure, or even disaster or tragedy. You may have heard this referred to as a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Understanding this concept of God-given inner creativity and the power of words takes faith -- an internal, unshakeable, spiritual belief in God's Word and promises. This is not a religious thing nor an intellectual thing. One has to truly have a spiritual perspective to understand God because He is a Spirit.

If you want lasting results in your life, learn how to shape your world with your words. Repent of being a worrier -- this is not a character trait, it is a sin. Just stop doing it. Jesus gave a great sermon on worrying in Matthew 6. He pointed out the fruitlessness and futility of worry, and the vital importance of faith and trust in God. Take the time to learn God's Word and speak His Word, instead of talking negatively.

For instance, instead of saying: "I'm so broke that I'll never get ahead in this economy." or "Everyone keeps getting the flu, and I'll probably catch it, too."

Out of your own mouth, speak God's Word in Psalm 91 and Psalm 103 and meditate on His promises.

Here's an example of one of our out-loud confessions:

Even in the midst of worldwide turmoil, God keeps us safe and stable, in every area of our lives, because He has promised and He doesn't lie. In the areas where we've had problems, God restores us completely and makes us even better than before.

Make a quality decision to say and see good things come forth in your life and your family's life today.

Celebrate Love Daily: God's Unconditional Love Gift (Jesus)

Love, Real Love, Is as Love Gives. Jesus is Real Love. God gave Him to the world.

He gives us life and life more abundantly, eternally and today/right now.

As you celebrate the St. Valentine's holiday, know that real love is unconditional and can only come from the Real God of Love: Jesus Christ -- who loved us before we loved Him; who bore our sins on his own body; and who is alive in Heaven at the right hand of the Almighty Father God, interceding for us, though we do not deserve His mercy.

God's love, witnessed in the gift of His own son, is God's free gift for us.

If you love God, then you will reciprocate by giving your life over to Him. Let Love rule and reign in your life every day, not just during the holidays.
