Alex Boyland, winner of CBS' Amazing Race, is now on a new challenge, going around the world without any money... at the whim and fancy of people who decide to be hospitable.

Now he is in Dominica, at the invitation of Jay Grimner. Only thing is, that the further he gets from America, and the reach of CBS, the less likely it is that he will be invited anywhere, and that means that he is stuck. Check out the great footage of Dominica at www.AroundTheWorldForFree.com Kalinago model village, Canyoning / Rapelling with Extreme Dominica, baths at Screws natural hot springs, hike to the Boiling Lake, and more...!

if you have some way of helping him along his journey, including free flights, boat rides, a yacht that happens to be in the Caribbean that he can work-and-ride on... feel free to make your contribution!!

The Botanical Gardens becomes my restaurant for the entire week, and every day I try something different. Crab is definitely the highlight of it all though! Hopefully one of these days our population of mountain chicken will be healthy again with the work of the good folks at the Division of Forestry & Wildlife and the Ministry of Agriculture. By the way, congratulations to Cable & Wireless for bringing Nasio Fontaine on to the programme this year, even if they refused to sponsor the Nasio-headlined show that we (Island Vybez Entertainment) were organising on behalf of the Dominica Foundation for Develoment. Thats cool... at least Nasio is FINALLY going to perform to his home crowd! (check out the video for "She Lost Track" the first single released from on his latest album at

Of course, the World Creole Music Festival is the flagship event of contemporary Creole music, and takes place on the last weekend in October every year. This year will be the 11th anniversary.

Jen, I do love your posts! We like to say that Dominica is a place for special people, and obviously you are one of those. The island's dive community and government are concerned about maintaining this repuation and so Marine Reserves have been established. The Soufriere Scotts-Head marine reserve SSMR is the most well established of these.

Seahorses and other small critters are a popular sight in Dominica.
