Undiscovered Beats February / March 2014 Chart

2014-03-24T08:33:00.000-07:00

Hey Everyone,

So 2014 is setting up to be a great year with some of the music we've experienced so far. Duke Dumont's - I got U is number 1 and finally the UK public is recognising quality music.

I've got an amazing chart in store for you all so make sure you check out the ones that didn't make the cut too!

I have made an Undiscovered Beats Essential Mix for you to listen to. It's 2 hours and 9 minutes long so great for those long journeys or long study sessions. Check it out below:

http://www.mixcloud.com/Coh_hul/undiscovered-beats-essential-mix/

If you are new to this blog and you like what you hear then make sure you head to http://www.facebook.com/groups/undiscoveredbeats/

where you can be a part of our community and look to post new tracks that you've found to get a mention. This month Victor De Costa's suggested track:
Dense & Pika - Colt... It made it into the overall chart so thanks for that one.

Undiscovered Chart January 2014

30. Bearcubs - Take Ctrl
29. Klingande - Jubel (Friend Within Remix)
28. Dan Croll - From Nowhere (Mike Mago Remix)
27. Tensnake - Pressure
26. Ribs - Delicately ft. Nikki Cislyn
25. Tony Betties - So Cool
24. Tony Betties - You And I
23. Låpsley - Station (Daktyl Remix)
22. Crown Duels - The One (Feat. Aspect)
21. Werkha - Wishful Friction
20. T.Williams & Shadow Child - Want You To

19. The Weeknd - Wanderlust (Snakehips Remix)

18. Tensnake - Selfish

17. Dansson & Marlon Hoffstadt - Shake That (Blonde Remix)

16. Data - Soldier's Flag (Bottin Remix)

15. Frits Wentink - Geeses (Ishmael Remix)

14. Jonas Rathsman - I Hope I'm Wrong

13. Shiba San - OKAY
12. Chris Malinchak - Forever

11. Tensnake - Feel Of Love

10. Cory Enemy - Go Deeper

(High Tempo, fun, electro, chopped and screwed track "WE GO DEEP")

9. AlunaGeorge - Kaleidoscope Love (Kaytranada Remix)

(Been waiting for this since he dropped it by "mistake" on his Boiler Room set. Typical Kaytranada bouncy hip hop bass with amazing melodies to complement a cute vocal)

8. Moon Boots - Don't Ask Why (ft Kyiki)

(The French Express at it again. Reminiscent of Perseus - Shadow Of The Beast. That deep bassline could keep you entertained for days)

7. MK - Always (The Golden Boy Remix)

(Golden Boy instant classic... Everything he touches turns to gold... An amazing chopped vocal, a sexy bassline accompanied with a Derrick May - Strings Of Life styled melody)

6. Alex Adair - Make Me Feel Better

(A Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell sample is often frowned upon in my book but Alex Adair harmonises their vocals in a piece that oozes emotion. A joyous breakdown just leaves you smiling)

5. Aaliyah - Rock The Boat (Grades Remix)

(Aaliyah still lives on... An amazing garage twist on the "Rock The Boat" song. It offers a great breakdown, a bouncy bassline and energetic percussion beat.)

4. Ferdinand Weber & Fabich - Aaliyah

(My favourite out of the two Aaliyah remixes we see this month. This one is more chilled and offers mazing harmonies. Not much lyrics just all about fun melodies with soft vocal tones. Summer track Fo'Sho)

3. Darius - Hot Hands

(Darius has given us a fantastic EP. "Hot Hands" is the breakthrough track. It reminds me of Cherokee's - Don't Matter... It offers an amazing soft vocal, slow dubbed keys and a chilled clapping beat. Fantastic)

2. Duke Dumont feat. Jax Jones - I Got U (Jonas Rathsman Remix)

(Really popular track twisted a little. Jonas Rathsman for me is one of the best producers around... He offers a darker, more serious (yet fun) version of the "I Got U" hit. Those French Express basslines give the track so much more in my opinion.)

1. Lukas Lyrestam - All I Think About

(A superb track that pushes all the right buttons. Everything seems too perfect... Vocals, instrument choice, breaks... The lot.)

THIS MONTHS UNDISCOVERED TUNE

Lukas Lyrestam - All I Think About

Lukas Lyrestam is a Swedish DJ and Producer and has made an absolute masterpiece with his "All I Think About" track. Slow steady bass with soft slow key presses. A gorgeous "You're all i think about" lyric interrupts the pause in a well formed riff. From this point on we know it's going to be a belter. Hip Hop Soul II Soul styled drums, soulful vocals, emotional tones... It really is perfect. The thing that makes this track special is knowing where to leave the track alone and not to over do things and not to be afraid of silence especially around the 3min mark. Quality track and hope to hear from Lukas again in the future.

2014-02-12T09:52:00.001-08:00

Hey Everyone,

So Welcome to 2014! Lets hope this year brings us as much great music as the last! There are a lot of upcoming shows which you should try and get to if you can. Some of the international festivals have been announced and although this year I won't be heading to any the line ups still look tasty!

Parklife in Manchester has a huge line up and I'm excited to get to the Bugged Out Weekender in March! Cyril Hahn has also released a few dates in the UK and France which would be worth a watch!

This month we have a lot of great tunes all going for that top spot in January's Undiscovered Beats chart.

My most recent mix for you all to hear can be accessed on the link below:

18. Roosevelt - Montreal

17. Rachel K Collier - Predictions (Billon Remix)

12. Tom Ferry - Plateau

11. Daniela Andrade - Crave You (TEEMID Remix) - Flight Facilities Cover

10. Chasing Kurt - From The Inside (Lovebirds Piano Forte Mix Edit)
(Chilled bar groove with a soulful vocal and a piano)

9. Years & Years - Real (Tobtok Remix)
(Xylophones! A retro gentle vocal builds you up to an outbursting chorus)

8. Karma Kid - Like I'm On Fire / Karma Kid - Like I'm On Fire (Kartell Remix)
(The Kid is back with a bouncy bondax feeling warm summery number with chopped up vocals / Kartell's remix is a little more solid but that might take away from the magic - Both worth a listen)

7. Mos Def - Ms. Fat Booty (Louis Futon Remix)
(Amazing hip hop meets electro piece (very Kaytranada). It's hard not to dance to this)

6. Diia - Alone (Fuse & Mark Mackenzie Remix)
(Cute vocal with soft piano melodies to be concurred with a huge bass)

5. Jessie Andrews - You Won't Forget Tonight (feat. Comets We Fall)
(Classic warm house track with a dreamy vibe)

4. Destiny's Child - Bug A Boo (Borneland Remix)
(Amazing take on an old R&B classic despite the R&B remix being overdone recently)

3. Claptone - Ghost feat. Clap Your Hands Say Yeah
(Mysterious feel to this one. A nice guitar riff complemented by pianos, strings, bass and a disturbed vocal. Works really well)

2. Moon Boots - C.Y.S.
(Moon Boots! We always new it was going to be great! Cute vocal, punchy basslines and great chords)

1. Cyril Hahn - Breaking
(Another amazing slow R&B/Electro hybrid from Cyril!)

THIS MONTHS UNDISCOVERED TUNE

Cyril Hahn - Breaking

CYRIL FINALLY CLAIMS THE THROWN THIS MONTH! He is like the Leonardo DiCaprio of unclaimed oscars in the Undiscovered Beats world but with his recent Wolf of Wall Street performance "Breaking" is Cyril's worthy overdue winner. The track features Javeon McCathy familiar from his work with L- Vis 1990 on the track "Lost in Love" and Julio's "Father Father". We start by hearing the white noise, a sprinkle of chimes and that deep slow bass we are all so familiar with. Javeon's vocals give off that soulful R&B vibe to add to the energy. As soon as he starts to sing we are already rocking with pleasure. It's hard not to sing the chorus when it arrives. The solos under the bass line are my favourite part of the piece and one of the many reasons why it works so well. Cyril is currently in Perfect Form (Sorry I couldn't resist).

20. Romare - Down the Line (It Takes a Number)
19. Ali Love - Another
18. Sharam Jey & Sirus Hood - Picture Picture
17. Chiara - Lost (Syv Remix)
16. LUMA - John Broadwood
15. Banks covering The Weeknd - What You Need

12. Tensnake - Love Sublime (ft. Nile Rodgers & Fiora)
11. Good Guy Mikesh feat. Filburt - Place of Love (Maceo Plex Edit)

10. Hackman - Change My Life
(This EP is truly amazing. This track takes you on a chilled journey)

9. Rektchordz & Crown Duels - Your Embrace
(A real banger! The stomping bass gets your feet moving whilst you scream out the soulful lyrics)

8. Gorgon City - Ready For Your Love
(Gorgon City showing their skills after their smash track "Real" and have brought MNEK to help them in to sure chart success)

7. Tensnake - No Relief (Feat. Fiora)
(TENSNAKE'S BACK! His album is going to be mega with him having help from Nile Rodgers, Jamie Lidell and Stuart Price... This is my favourite at the moment)

6. Hayden James - Embrace
(The Australian is proving to be a big player with consistent great quality in his work. "Embrace" is chilled yet captivating)

5. HNNY - Tears
(Local Talk records finest artist and track at the moment (which is a big task considering the quality over there) Sure to be played all over!)

4. Hackman - Lost From Me
(The better of the two on the EP. "Lost From Me" takes you back in time. Amazing melodies, just a great production all around)

3. Name One & Maxxi Soundsystem - One In Three
(One of my favourite producers Maxxi Soundsystem offers us this track featuring Name One... It's that dirty bass that Maxxi's familiar with that gets him here)

2. TCTS - These Heights
(The vocals on this are so good! Heard it first on the 2Bears Boiler Room set (Think Joe Goddard has a hidden remix of it that sounded amazing) Great track though)

1. Perseus - Shadow of the Beast
(Finally that unknown track at the end of Perseus's Boiler Room set is with us!)

THIS MONTHS UNDISCOVERED TUNE

Perseus - Shadow of the Beast

Perseus is the founder of one of my favourite record labels (French Express) and has an amazing track record as a producer. He delivered arguably the best Boiler Room performance yet and finished on this gem of a track. Shadow of the Beast is everything you'd expect from Perseus and more... Chilled, Atmospheric and Soulful whilst combining R&B with House. The track features Ashanti and Cassie which works perfectly with their passionate tones and heartfelt lyrics. The track is met with plucky high end tones with that big slow bass that we're used to with Perseus tracks. The song is amazing from start to finish and gets me excited to think there may be more from him in the near future considering the length of his absence. Lets hope!

2. Donell Jones - You Know What's Up (Monkey Wrench Re-Work)

1. SecondCity - I Wanna Feel
(Absolute banger... This track shows what pianos were made for)

THIS MONTHS UNDISCOVERED TUNE

SecondCity - I Wanna Feel

SecondCity gets the top spot this month with his track "I Wanna Feel". The news in house music is that melodic piano riffs with heavy basslines are in at the moment going from Paul Woolford's - "Untitled" last month. "I Wanna Feel" starts off with a huge garage vibe with loud hi-hats and kick drums accompanied with a distorted female vocal. We then hear that amazing piano riff to get us excited and leaves us begging for a huge bassline. We hear the rolls of the drums and BANG! We then hear the piano taken out of the equasion and a heftier bassline takes us by surprise. The track sounds so simple yet it's sure to tear up dance floors. What a banger!

So September was an amazing month for me... Getting to head to Croatia for Unknown Festival in Rovinj. I managed to see loads of class acts including T.E.E.D., SBTRKT and Waze and Odyssey to name a few. Cyril Hahn delivered one of the best sets I've ever seen.

1. Hot Natured - Different Sides

THIS MONTHS UNDISCOVERED TUNE

Hot Natured - Different Sides

Hot Natured take this months top spot with their track "Different Sides". Jamie Jones, Lee Foss, Luca C and Ali Love make up Hot Natured and their debut album "Different Sides Of The Sun" is an essential album for those interested in house. The song that shines on the album is "Different Sides" with it's articulate lyrics, throbbing bass lines and harmonising tones it proves to be a worthy winner. The track is based around love but expressed in a scientific manner relating to chemistry. it starts with melodic chords accompanied with drip sounding percussion and drums we then hear the high pitched voice of Ali Love to contrast with the low base tones. An amazing track and I'm sure you all agree.

2013-09-20T12:38:00.000-07:00

Hey Everyone,

So I've been getting back into the swing of things and looking forward to my trip to Croatia for Unknown Festival next month! Just bought a boat party ticket to see Waze and Oddyssey and T.E.E.D. which should be mega!

This month offers a lot of music that has quite well known already and it's because the quality is amazing. To let you know the track in this months "Blast From The Past" section has only just been discovered by me but it was out in 2007... Check it out it would have been high in my chart if it was recent.

I have just made a heavy Dirtybird Records sounding mix that can be heard here:

1. Claude VonStroke - Can't Wait

THIS MONTHS UNDISCOVERED TUNE

Claude VonStroke - Can't Wait

Claude VonStroke... The head honcho of Dirtybird Records catches this months chart by storm with his track "Can't Wait". It's about time for Mr VonStroke to get back in the game by dropping this album especially with the Dirtybird movement being as fresh as ever. "Can't Wait" is his first release that is a slow dreamy melodic track that brings things back to basics and proves that quality is better than quantity. With two lines in the song "OK" and "Can't Wait" we are kept more than amused with the use of synths to create tension before heavy baseline drops and that winning riff. His album is out next months and I'm more than certain he will feature in my next blog. Good to have you back Claude!

Undiscovered Beats July 2013 Chart

2013-07-25T08:26:00.000-07:00

Hey Everyone,

I've been really busy again these past two months! I've headed all around Europe visiting some beautiful cities. I'm back now though to provide you with the latest in quality music.

On my travels I met some South Africans and some more Aussies that will hopefully provide me with even more great tunes. The South Africans told me about this months number 3 in my chart so watch out!

This month we see quite a few entries by the same artist so well done to Joe Goddard (again), Stimming, FKJ and Touch Sensitive but even more so to Bondax and Daughter (for providing a fantastic remixing voice) that have two entries in the top 10!

Because I've been away for a little while I have made a top 20 because there is that much quality here this month... As always though the tracks that didn't make it into the top 20 are still worth listening to.

If you are new to this blog and you like what you hear then make sure you head to http://www.facebook.com/groups/undiscoveredbeats/

where you can be a part of our community and look to post new tracks that you've found to get a mention. Big thanks to De Costor Victor who is always providing tracks on facebook.

THIS MONTHS UNDISCOVERED TUNE

Bondax - Giving It All

Bondax then... A two piece teenage dj/production partnership that have come from nowhere to constantly deliver high quality. It's about time that this duo claimed the top spot and their remix of "No Diggity" isn't too far away claiming 4th place. "Giving It All" is the track that's given them the Undiscovered Beats glory though. The track starts off with a really dreamy underwater vibe with chilled and filtered melodies. We then hear a clear and calm vocal to build and build with passion (this is where we find ourselves dancing and thinking "I like this one). Out of nowhere the dreamy vibe stop and are presented with a clear building piano riff then BAM! "STAR SIGN, I THINK I LOVE" YOU... And that's how classics are made. Enjoy...

THIS MONTHS UNDISCOVERED TUNE

Dirty Projectors - The Socialites (Joe Goddard Remix)

So Joe Goddard Strikes again! First and Third in this weeks chart! From the first note of his remix of The Socialites we hear "Oh Baby" and we get certification that we are set to hear some amazing vocals. The warm earthy feel of the percussion and the bouncy xylophone styled melody compliment the vocals really well. The best part is either the first intense build up (about 2 minutes in) where her intensity is matched with brilliantly placed lazers or when the track is stripped back to bascis and we just hear that exotic melody. What a track!

Hey Everyone,

The Undiscovered Beats chart is BACK! And what a place to be at to make sure your playlists are up to date in time for the summer! I have been busy studying different magazines, youtube channels and radio shows to get this months top rated tracks. I hope you find that my hard work has paid off for your all!

Thanks again to my Weegie friend Zoe for showing me some gems like Polkadot's - Wasn't Like That, Close feat. Scuba & Charlene Soraia's - Beam Me Up and MK's remix of Louie Fresco - No Hateration.

If you are new to this blog and you like what you hear then make sure you head to http://www.facebook.com/groups/undiscoveredbeats/

where you can be a part of our community and look to post new tracks that you've found to get a mention (Don't be shy!).

David August released his new album last month. If you are wanting some great lounge music with an aged european feel then you should check it out. My favorite tracks include "Anthem", "Until We Shine" and "For Eternity".

We all know Daft Punks album is out this month which I am sure you all can't wait for. Their release "Get Lucky" is a sign that we are in for a treat.

If you didn't listen last month one of my mixes can be seen below. I am working on a summer one for you all, so hold tight.

THIS MONTHS UNDISCOVERED TUNE

Mathew Jonson - Dayz

Top of the chart this month is from Mathew Jonson. This track was released in 2011 but went under my radar. It features on the Crosstown Rebels compilation out this month and WOW what a find! It

The song is called "Dayz". It's a complex piece combining lots of different melodies together to work in harmony. We start with the crazy bass line and kick drum... The hi-hats build to compliment the arrival of the main synth riff. The song lasts for 8 minutes and could be considered repetitive but as someone wrote on youtube

"Where's the joy of listening to it if you want it shorter ??? :)) if you love it you love it for 8 for 9 or for 100 minutes!"

And I couldn't agree more. Enjoy!

This month De Coster Victor came up with a few tracks that caught my eye the FCL - It's You (Redondo Remix) in particular, also got to say thanks to Zoe for finding Amtrac - Those Days (Viceroy Remix) for me! This month I have found an act to me that sound like a cross between Justice/Daft Punk/Pheonix and Louis La Roche so if you like those listen to Lemaitre my favourites are Coffee Table, Time to Realise and Appreciate.

I am looking to set up being a DJ and have posted my recent mix below for you all to listen to! Let me know if you have any thoughts about it and if you like it share it with your friends.

THIS WEEKS UNDISCOVERED TUNE

Jonas Rathsman - Bringing You Down

This month we Jonas Rathsman secure the number one spot in our March chart. "Bringing You Down" is full of heavy baselines, soulful vocals and groovy melodies to add to your summer playlist.

The track starts with atmospheric synths, a cowbell and a moaning vocal to get you into the vibe. When the first baseline kicks the track catches your interest. We hear additional vocal moans added to build up to the heavy baseline. "Oh So Real, Real, Real... Bringing You Down, Down, Down" then starts to be looped as the melody rises before the major drop of the song. Everything works so well and it would take something special to beat Erols - Night Work's remix and Jonas has come up with the goods here!

THIS WEEKS UNDISCOVERED TUNE

$100 Bill - Benoit & Sergio

This month we congratulate Benoit and Sergio as they take the top spot and treat us to this brilliant summer track. "$100 Bill" has a real 80's vibe making you think of Miami Palm trees and attractive people dancing in the sun and THE SUMMER! Which will be with us soon!

It starts with a simple drum beat, we then hear a crazy catchy manipulated vocal that changes in pitch which accompanies the track all the way through. "A $100 billfold in my back pocket and I've already forgot that I've got a girlfriend because these tastes is long but the night is young, young young, YOUNG YOUNG, YOUNG, YOUNG, YOUNG YOUNG!" As soon as the plucking melody drops in you can't do anything but dance. Definitely going to be on everyones summer playlists!

1. Flume - Holdin' On

THIS WEEKS UNDISCOVERED TUNE

Flume - Holdin' On

Australian DJ Flume rises to the top sport in this last quarter of 2012 chart. When I was travelling I made friends with a few Aussies and one of my friends Noni told me about Flume. Since I've been back in the UK I've been listening to his stuff constantly. I would advise you to check his Youtube channel out as he has many great tracks that you need to hear. His productions tend to combine many genres of music giving excellent results. You will typically hear hip hop beats, house synths and soulful vocals that gel really well together. Holdin' On has got to be my favourite track of his collection. The sleepy tones at the beginning of the track combined with the impassioned vocals sets things up for a chilled track then BAM! You're hit with powerful synths and beats that provide so much energy. From start to finish this song is one that will get people dancing.

THIS WEEKS UNDISCOVERED TUNE

Maceo Plex - Future Musik (A Tribute To Closer Musik)

HE'S DONE IT AGAIN! Back to back top spots! Maceo Plex is everything that you could ask for in a quality producer at the moment. "Future Musik" is the B side to Maceo's "Love Somebody Else" and what a track to pair it with! He teased us all with "Future Musik" back in February on his Essential Mix and it has definitely been worth the wait! This track has chilled out ambient sounds to be backed up with heavy bassy synths. My favourite part of the track is at 4:40 where we are set in a bassy trance and then the track just explodes! Just listen to it, enjoy it and anticipate his new releases because if they are anything like these we are in for a treat!

THIS WEEKS UNDISCOVERED TUNE

Maceo Plex & Jon Dasilva - Love Somebody Else

The Crosstown Rebeller Maceo Plex has teamed up with Sweede Jon Dasilva and has rightfully taken the top spot this month. "Love somebody" is a typical "Undiscovered Beats" gem! The track uses atmospheric synths, heavy basslines and funky disco styled vocals to combine perfectly to potentially be one of the top tracks of 2012. There is not much else that I can say only that I will be going mental when he drops it at The Warehouse Project in Manchester later this month! Check it out!

1. Marbert Rocel - Small Hours

THIS WEEKS UNDISCOVERED TUNE

Marbert Rocel - Small Hours

Trio Marbert Rocel have been releasing quirky tracks since 2004. It's their Jazz/House hybrid that has got the German band recognised. Their track 'Small Hours' taken from their most recent album of the same name has hit the set lists of many djs trying to create that calm and chilled out atmosphere that we all love. The threesome have worked hard on this track thinking about its minimal melody to mix in with the bass and drum beats to get your body moving. The voice of Antje Seifarth sends chills of joy down your spine. Her vocals along with the sax of Robert Krause leaves the track feeling fresh. The best point of the track is near the end when all parts of the piece can all be heard but the enjoyment is getting there. Enjoy their track and if you like this you may want to check out music from Crazy P.

THIS WEEKS UNDISCOVERED TUNE

DJ Tennis - The Outcast (feat. PillowTalk)

Dj Tennis deuces with Pillow Talk to ace into number one spot! This track is so retro and never seems to tire. The soft melodies combine with the dreamy lyrics to create the ultimate anthem for everyone with love for house music. I'd like to thank Soul Clap for playing this to the sunrise at Hideout Festival and for letting me know the name of the track on Facebook! Hey Everyone,

Festival Season is here people!

I went to Parklife (Manchester) Last weekend to see acts like Justice, Julio Bashmore, Erol Alkan, Eats Everything, Nero, Tensnake, Fake Blood, Jaques Le Cont and Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs! Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs have just released their long awaited album and it proves to be a treat. I would advise checking Miguel Campbell's remix of Stronger that looses out in this weeks chart as I think the original tops it (It's still worth checking out though).

I've got Hideout Festival (Croatia) in two weeks to look forward to also and if you've not got tickets to watch acts like these then try and sort some out to stop you missing out.

It was such a good weekend see the video below of Xavier from Justice when he stopped We Are Your Friends half way through for a snippet of what it was like:

THIS WEEKS UNDISCOVERED TUNE

Chopstick & Johnjon - Listen

Right then! This week Chopstick and Johnjon get the prize and rightfully so! The German based duo have put together an exceptional piece that blends the old with the new. It starts with a simple drum beat to then be accompanied by a a soulful vocal snippet "Come on with it". The track then comes to life when the bouncy wooded bass is delivered. All these aspects gets you bouncing and when you hear the soulful vocals from way back when it takes you on an atmospheric journey to find some sunshine and enjoy yourself.

1. Simian Mobile Disco - Your Love Ain't Fair

THIS WEEKS UNDISCOVERED TUNE

Simian Mobile Disco - Your Love Ain't Fair

This week we see the well established Simian Mobile Disco take the top spot. Simian Mobile Disco are known most for their collaborated track "We are your friends" with Justice. Since then the London duo have made some electronic gems such as "Hustler", "It's The Beat" and "I Believe". The pair in recent history seemed to have lost their edge in terms of making great productions but their new album shows that they have exactly what it takes to still be able to create wonders like our Undiscovered Beats May Part 2 top track. "Your Love Ain't Fair" is my personal favourite track off their new album. The track has wobbly and distorted elements creating a trance like aberrant vibe. We hear a strong soulful statement from the vocalist announcing the name of the piece... Your Love Ain't Fair! The duo have then changed the pitches, paces and chopped it up to harmonise with the backing track. You wouldn't associate this style of track with typical SMD songs but I think it is a refreshing surprise that they can also branch out to different styles of music across the "Electronic" scene. If you like this track you should check out L-Vis 1990 and his work as it is quite similar.

Hey Everyone,

Sorry for the delay in getting around to publishing a new chart. I have been over to Australia for a break away. I have compiled the tracks that did it for me in early May and I have got a treat in store for you next week when I will give you the new chart!

THIS WEEKS UNDISCOVERED TUNE

Le Youth - Dance With Me

This week we see LA Producer Wes James A.K.A. Le Youth wow us all with his adaptation of the catchy T.L.C. Song - "No Scrubs". "Dance With Me" has stuttered chopped up vocals that goes extremely well with the funky chilled out disco baseline. He has left the well known original track to fade off into the distance before bringing it back with a modern twist. We also hear Jermaine Dupri compliment the main lead state "All I wanna do is make you dance with me" and Le Youth seems to make that task very simple with this great tune.

THIS WEEKS UNDISCOVERED TUNE

Andrés - New For U

Andrés is the title holder for late April! Fighting off tough competition Andrés is a worthy winner. The track starts with ruined forgotten about beats that have been left left with your painting and decorating tools to be greeted with fresh sounding strings that are perfect to convey a beautiful sunny morning. The warm basslines, chiming chords and soft vocals all make you want to get up and dance. The piece works really well with it's crisp melodies combining with the gritty undertones of the track. Simple yet very effective!

THIS WEEKS UNDISCOVERED TUNE
Nneka - Shining Star (Joe Goddard Remix)

The Joe Goddard remix of Nneka - Shining Star has to take the number one spot for the month of March. The original song has fantastic vocals but it comes across with a sing-songy type of vibe due to the backing track. Joe has placed his soft tones and trademark baseline over the track to match the wonderful vocals of Nneka creating a truly soulful and captivating listening experience.
