This is the face of a happy girl! My last paint touch ups are today! And I couldn't be more excited! Getting our home ready has been more than a pain in the butt. And if I see another can of paint or another paintbrush again... I might go crazy on someone. On the bright side, our cabinets were installed and now all we have to wait for is the countertops! Hooray!!!!!!!

Ty had the morning off and I had some errands to run so we all decided to go as a family, since family time doesn't happen much these days. We just went to Target, The Wood Connection, Children's Place and a couple other places for super random things {as you can see from the picture} we needed. It was nice to be together.

Check it out, I'm all dressed and ready before 3:00! Of course there is a good reason, MY SISTER WAS IN TOWN! Yay! My sister moved to California a little while ago and she came back to visit for Thanksgiving, so we had to get in a lot of play time. AND I had a whole new outfit to try out! Ok, the boots and necklace were not new, but I pulled the tags off everything else this very day! New clothes are so fun! I don't get enough of them! I had my eye on this yellow cardi for a while, and then good fortune struck me with a sale, a coupon, AND a Target Cartwheel deal, so I couldn't pass it up!!! It's probably one of my favorite pieces right now. What do you think?

Quick, Easy and Small Fall to Winter Fashion Trends {Daily Diaries}

Let's talk a little fashion today shall we. To find my top 6 fall fashion trends go HERE. My love for the fun new headwraps got me thinking about other fall fashion trends that are on a smaller scale. So today I am going to talk fall fashion on our lips, nails, and accessories. These are easy, quick and inexpensive but still make a big statement. And the best part is they will all transition from fall right into the holiday season. So lets get started on my top 5 small trends that leave you feeling stylish and create a big statement.

Dark Nails

First up are the dark nails. Black is back, but not just black so don't be intimidated. If black is scary for you or just not your thing you can use the dark purples, reds and blues and it will bring in that same look. Dark is no longer a Gothic style but turning into pure glam. Good bye summer neons, hello glamorous darks {at least for a couples months}.

Also to go along with the dark nail colors, GOLD is a must this fall and into the holiday season. Try it out. Get a dark color and paint those fingers and tootsies, with maybe one of them gold, and you are sure to be in love.

Next up are the dark lips. Burgundy is huge this season and really fun to play with, with your fall outfits. It can be so pretty paired with a light flowy top. Make it feminine and keep it classy.

If the purple is too much for you, try out the darker red. Bright red was perfect for the summer, but it is time to switch it out for the darker shades of those classic red lips.

I tried out a color in between the really dark purple and the red and I am loving it. It is a little darker in person then what the lighting of this picture shows, but it was just a really fun change and it feels very dressed up. It is crazy how just putting on some lipstick can make you look so much more put together.

Headwraps and Beanies

Now for some fun head accessories for fall into the winter are the headwraps, cozy earwarmers and beanies. I love these accessories because they are both functional and fashionable. The two main functions each of these serve is to keep our heads cozy warm, and they are super quick and great for a lazy hair day.

For a different look you can buy are make the cute fleece or crochet earwarmers. Pretty much these are just a thicker headwrap that are great for those snowy days. You can find the tutorial to make the fleece ones HERE.

I feel like beanies are so much cuter than they used to be, and a huge part of fall/winter fashion. I am finding myself styling the rest of my outfits around these beanies. They are not just for guys or for skiing anymore. Wear them looser fitting and with a fun curl or with some straight bangs. The Most perfect lazy hair day accessory ever. In the summer I love the top knot bun and in the winter I love the beanies and headwraps. Function and beauty it is possible!

Statement necklaces are huge. They have been a popular trend for a while and they are not going anywhere anytime soon. These unique, colorful, and classic statement necklaces are for everyone. They have so many shapes, sizes, colors and options and they can go with just about anything. You do not have to wear a dress to pull these babies off and that is what I love so much about this fashion trend. I have worn them with a T-shirt, a dress, a button up, or a blouse. Scarf

Scarves. This is a no brainier. We love scarves. Just like the head accessories these are not only cute but they keep us cozy in these upcoming frigid months. There are so many styles, patterns, materials and way to wear them and you can find them everywhere. I love how they can also be worn as if they are a necklace, making the same fashion statement. DIY Catwoman Costume {Daily Diaries}

So I know it's a little late for Halloween posts, but with my technical difficulties this was as close to Halloween as I could get, and I wouldn't DREAM of not sharing my costume! So without further ado, I would like to present my 2013 DIY Halloween costume..... CATWOMAN!

The seeds for a Catwoman costume were planted when I ran across a pair of leather paneled leggings while shopping with my mom in, oh... March. I'm not really a leggings girl (I'm coming more into the trend now, but I feel a bit self conscious and my husband kind of hates them, so leggings are not my preferred apparel item), but these specific leggings were so fun, and so comfortable, and all I could think of when I saw them was how they were begging to be used for a Halloween costume. They were def Black Widow or Catwoman material. I knew it had to be Catwoman for sure when my oh so kind and beautiful daughter saw this picture of Anne Hathaway from The Dark Knight Rises and said "Mamma!" Isn't she the sweetest!?

If only. I can only dream about looking as great as Anne Hathaway, but I got to thinking that her Catwoman ensamble was totally makable, and with my new leggings it would be 90% from stuff I already had in my closet - which is how I LOVE to do costumes! So here's the low down on how I put it together.

These are the things I already had in my closet

Adidas running jacket - with some cool texture that was puuurfect (sorry, I had to!)

I got this jacket in Rome on my honeymoon, and I have to admit that it's one of the most expensive clothing pieces I've ever owned (I'm really cheap, ok), but it's also one of my favorite things ever. I'll be real, I never run, but I like the look of this jacket, that's all that matters, right? Because I love it and it was pricey, I didn't want to do any alterations to it, but it had some bright white stripes and a little logo that weren't very Catwoman-like. To fix that I used Wonder Tape to stick a black ribbon over the white stripes on the back and a small kitty cat shape over the logo on the front. Voila!

Faux leather paneled leggings from Ross - did I mention these were only $7? Another reason I HAD to get them. I've seen similar ones floating around everywhere - Forever 21, Love Culture, and H&M, to name a few places.

Black boots - These were purchased for a "biker girl" costume all the way back in 2007, and were actually one of two options for Catwoman footwear. I thought about going with these taller, pointer boots, but they're a little too big and I didn't like how baggy they were, so I stuck with the short ones, even though The Dark Knight Rises version of Catwoman looks like she's wearing taller boots. It's all about what makes ME look cutest, right?

Burton belt - I was looking into buying a belt that looked more like a "utility belt", but I was feeling cheap and lazy, so I went with one I owned. I did make a little pocket/pouch to attach and keep my cell phone in which gave it more of the movie look, buuuuut, that's not in the picture, because I'm cool like that :)

Now here's where I spent money on this costume

Black satin gloves - $15 at the Halloween store. They go up past the elbow and I folded them over so they were just below. Had I shopped earlier I could've got some better ones with a leather look for about $10 on Amazon. But I didn't want to chance them not being on time for Halloween so I went for the safe option and got what I knew I could have right away.

Headband, Flashlights, and Fun Foam for DIY cat ears/goggles - About $4.

This is truly my favorite part of the costume, and what really made me go for the Anne Hathaway Catwoman. When I first thought about being Catwoman I was drawn to the Arkham City video game version, but I wasn't sure if I was up to the task of stuffing all of my hair into a hat (I have A LOT of hair, it's sort of ridiculous). So Anne Hathaway's look with free flowing locks was quite appealing. I figured I could probably find a cat ear headband from the movie in a costume shop or online, but I ended up finding something even better, which really made me decide that I had to, had to, be Anne's Catwoman.

THIS tutorial for swiveling Dark Knight Rises Catwoman goggles. AMAZING! I seriously loved the way her goggles flipped up to look like ears in the movie, and now I could have my own!

This tutorial involves drilling, which was a little out of my comfort zone (I'm a mess when it comes to power tools) but I decided to suck it up and give it a go. I even had a pair of broken sunglasses that I could utilize, so I couldn't not try it! And guess what? It was easy peasy! I sort of skipped some steps and went for my own simplified version, but I felt like the impact was just as awesome. People LOVED these goggles! They were really truly the best part of the costume and definitely worth the hour or so I put into making them! You can check out my cheesy Instagram video of how they work.

The final touches were some sparkly earrings, a pearl necklace (because Catwoman is the ultimate jewel thief and needs to look glam), some red lipstick (I kind of wish I'd picked a darker color though, bleh), smokey purple and black eyeshadow, long lashes, and a drawn on mask.

I hate wearing makes so I decided spending a little bit of time in the makeup chair would be better than wearing an uncomfortable mask all night long. This mask was pretty simple too. After my cool Spider-Man make-up last year, this mask was peanuts. I started out by drawing a simple outline that resemble the mask Anne Hathaway wears

Then I dampened a large eyeshadow blending brush and filled in the mask with black shadow. Done and done!

This was for sure one of the easiest costumes I've ever DIY'd, and I love the way it turned out. I got lots of compliments at the party I went to on Friday night, and even more when I went trick-or-treating with my little Batman!

P.S. I made the hat and wings for Quinn's cute owl costume too! She loves owls and was the cutest little thing! And do you like my strange husband's creepy horse mask? He barely even wore it because of the stinky plastic smell and lack of eye holes! Haha! What did you guys dress up as? Any other Catwomen out there? We want to see your pictures! Who care if Halloween was over a week ago and they're already playing Christmas music everywhere, I would have Halloween everyday if I could!

Ran some errands today with my mom, grandma, and of course GG! I bought two new light fixtures for our home. And I'm in LOVE!!! BIG post to come soon with my house renovation. Can't wait to show you all the transformation!!! And I can't wait to move in!!! ahhhh!!!

I don't know why I'm posing like this, I just felt like giving you a different view of my everyday hoodie I guess. This was SUCH a lazy Monday afternoon for me. I basically spent the day lounging around and reading until right before this photo when I jumped in the shower. That's right, I didn't take a shower until after 2 PM. I had a busy weekend, OK! To tell you the truth, I might have skipped the shower all together if Darren and I didn't have tickets to a play later that night. Gross, whatever, I know, but sometimes I don't care.

LEATHER LEGGINGS: Forever 21, T-SHIRT: Target Men's section

Today was such a lazy day, but Mondays usually are for me. It is hard for me to get going again. With my husbands dumb work schedule I just always feel like I am in shambles. Today, however, we did finally get our workout in at like 11:00. It was great and Maddux joined us while Holden napped, but it is hard working out that late. I don't do as well, and then by the time we are done and I shower I wasn't ready for the day until 1:00 in the afternoon. Blah, oh well, at least I put on one of my favorite {I don't care if it isn't super fashionista} outfits. It is so comfy, but also my leather leggings are my very favorite purchase and this Bazinga shirt is AMAZING! If you don't watch Big bang theory shame on you...start today you will die. I may not may not be saving this phrase into a pumpkin this year, stay tuned to see. The rest of my Monday was doing the single mom thing while Ty worked all night. I hate him gone at night.

Technical Difficulties

So I really really wanted to do a post about Halloween costumes this week, but a terrible, no good, really bad thing happened - My computer crashed! It's pretty much really annoying. Luckily I'm married to a computer genius and he made a heroic attempt to salvage all of my files. My baby is still in the shop, but I'm crossing my fingers that Darren's magic worked. If not I'm still relatively lucky that there was nothing too important on there, except for photos for future blog posts :/ Grrr.

So yeah, that happened and I'm posting this from my phone, which has its pros and cons. Pro being that its super convenient, and con being that I don't have access to any of the pretty photos or editing software. But maybe I can give you a cell phone pic or two of some pieces of my Halloween costume, and then hopefully I'll have my laptop back and I'll be able to show you the whole thing before Halloween actually hits!

I'm super excited about my costume this year! OK, let's be real, I'm excited every year, but this one is extra fun because I've been planning it for months, and it is almost entirely made from things I already owned! I found a pair of leggings way back in March that just screamed Catwoman, and my Halloween creative juices started flowing. So I bought the leggings and searched the internet and my closet to create my own DIY Catwoman. I just finished her up this week and I can't wait to wear my costume out with my sister tonight! And now, with my computer out of commission I'll give you this peak at my some of my DIY handiwork, and let you guess what became of this jumbled mess!

Hopefully my computer will be up and running soon and I can share the full costume (along with my kids', because I guess Halloween is about them too. Haha!). In the meantime we want to hear what all of you guys have planned for Halloween! Any other moms who like to dress up like me? Would you believe I got these adorable studded leopard flats for only $3 a few weeks ago?! Sometimes I find amazing deals, and I get a little bit over excited and halve to brag, so there you go. Oh, this sweater was another one of those amazing finds, only $5 two years ago! And it's been one of my faves ever since! Ok, ok, enough gushing over my deals, on to how I spent my Friday. My sister up and moved to California and this was her very last day in Utah! So I spent my afternoon having family time with 2 of my sisters and my niece at my house. It was totally bitter sweet. We had fun hanging out, but I was way said that it's going to be a while before I see her again :(

Now, I know this isn't a full body shot! But I had to document this snuggle time with my 2-year-old. This NEVER happens. The only reason I got this snuggle is because I've been working on our home 24/7. No lie! And we are exhausted! I would do this everyday if I could get snuggles like this. Isn't her hand on my face so sweet? I love this girly!!!

Hubby has been working crazy hours {don't even get me started}, long story short is that he graduated from law school, just passed the bar and is having a super hard time finding a job so he is back working at Chillies, and although I should be grateful he has some sort of job, I really want him to have a 9-5 job. I mean, hello he went to law school for goodness sake. That was a crazy tangent, but has a point, the point is half the time on a Friday or Saturday night you will normally find me like this, in leggings and crazy socks because they are comfortable and my hubby is not home. So there ya go. At least I was kinda looking ok besides the socks in this one. Oh, and yes that is the best picture I could get without anyone home to help. Pretty sure the rest of this night after the littles were in bed I got into a T-shirt, jumped into bed and watched some Breaking Bad on Netflix. Not too bad of a day or night.

The Pressures of Perfect Parenting {Frequent Frustrations}

Last night my beautiful friend and blogging buddy, Whitney, posted an oh so sad Facebook status about feeling like a failure as a mom. Well Whit, you're not. Being a parent is tough, and we all feel like that sometimes! At the risk of being slammed by all the super moms out there, and maybe even child services, I'm going to let all of the blogging world in on a little secret... There are lots of moments when I wish I was a better parent. My kids eat junk food, they watch a ridiculous amount of TV, and both of them have become addicted to video games.

I've been trying harder the last few months, but I am not so great at making healthy meals. We eat a lot of Lunchables and pizza in this house. We spend a few of our dinner times in front of the TV, and we don't walk to the park, go to the museum, or even play in our own backyard as much as we should. I yell, I get frustrated, I even cry and storm out sometimes. I forget to tell the kids to brush their teeth or make them take a bath. I let the dishes pile up and I never make the beds. I give in to crying and temper tantrums. Sometimes I spend half my day on the computer and let my kids do whatever they want, and I hardly ever make them clean up their own messes. I keep talking and talking about the music, dance, and karate classes I want to put my kids in but never do. I'm not a Pinterest perfect parent.

All of this stuff makes me feel so so so so guilty, and it doesn't help when I see examples of perfect parents (or what seem like perfect parents) online every day. Sure, my kids are fed, they're not sick, they've got shelter and love, but the internet is telling me they need so much more! I need to be so much more! Especially as a stay at home mom. I'm here with them 24/7, right? Shouldn't I be devoting every waking minute to enriching their lives? That's what other moms are doing. They don't let their kids watch TV at all, and especially not just so they can steal time to themselves! They want to be with their kids every moment, they enjoy taking care of children. Why am I so lazy and selfish? Other moms do EVERYTHING for their kids!

But I'm a person too, right? Just because I'm a grown up doesn't mean I'm perfect. I'm not a perfect mom. I'm not a perfect person. But hey, my kids are fed, they're not sick, they have shelter and LOVE. So forget you internet and society! I could be better, but I'm not the worst, and I'm willing to bet that there are a lot more mom's like me than there are Pinterest Perfect ones. And since it seems like lots and lots of kids manage to grow up without becoming totally dysfunctional, I might be doing OK as a mom. At least that's what I'm hoping ;) So, don't worry Whitney, you're not a bad mom, and you're not alone either :)

You might have noticed that Undone took a little bit of a Summer vacation. All of our lives got a little bit hectic over the last few months, but don't fret, we're here, we're alive, and we're ready to blog again! And what better way to welcome you all back than with a roll call!? Let's get back into the swing of things, shall we?

Here in Utah there's this little thing many people call "The Holy War", which is basically the most important college rivalry there is. And it doesn't matter where did or didn't go to college, you've got a preference, either Red or Blue - The University of Utah or BYU. We're no different at Undone, so we decided we'd show some spirit and share our game day colors with you!

If you've read my profile it shouldn't be hard to guess that I'm a Utes girl! Oh, and also the fact that I'm wearing the same University of Utah hoodie in every other Roll Call... What can I say? I love my Alma Mater! I had a super busy day this Saturday, starting with soccer at 7:50 AM, a wedding in the evening, and lastly trying to stay awake to watch my Utes win the football game! There were a few wardrobe changes, but it was red and black all day - I was even sportin' my U of U undies under my black dress at the wedding! TMI? Sorry! Like I said, I love my Alma Mater! Haha! Go Utes!

During this picture we were at Discovery Gateway Children's Museum. It was fun to see the new doctor exhibit and play that Saturday morning as a family. My boys loved it! Also, of course I had to sport my tank to support my team. Later that night Ty and I went the BYU/Utah football game for a date. Even though we lost it was a blast!

Summer Rush {Daily Diaries}

Is it just me, or is Summer the busiest time of year for everyone? I swear, it's been almost non-stop events and activities for me, and this is pretty much the norm every year. By late April my weekends start filling up, and by the time school is out there is at least one thing planned for every week until September. Thankfully I haven't made any more trips to Crazy Town, where I have 5 things going all in the same day, but the last few weeks have been go go go for me, with now signs of slowing down!

Vacations, parties, and prepping. That's my life right now! So sorry that blogging isn't on that list! But since I did happen to get a spare second today I thought I'd give you a little peek into my summer schedule.

Last weekend I was lucky enough to make another mini trip to Montana to spend time with family for a special event. I don't know if I mentioned it before, but I was born and raised in Montana until I was 10 years old, and that's where almost all of my extended family lives. And I love all of my aunts and uncles, grandparents and cousins so much, but I hardly get to see them. Typically I get one Montana trip a year (usually at Christmas), two if I'm super lucky. But I guess I'm super duper lucky this year, because I've been up to Montana 3 times in the last 8 months! Yay for special events! This time it was my Grandparents' 50th anniversary party that brought us to Big Sky Country. Darren had to work, but since I got wrangled into creating a slide show for the party I told him I HAD to go, and fortunately I was able to catch a ride with one of my sisters. Score! So the party was fun, seeing my family was fun, making the slide show was, um, well, work. I got a huge box of photos, along with a list of song requests in the mail about 2 weeks before the party, so there was a lot of scanning, cropping, and music hunting going on before I got to take my vacation. Not to mention packing and Googling of iMovie tutorials! Somehow my Grandpa got the idea that if I could make my own Christmas card I could make a video slideshow.... Well I guess I can now! On the plus side I got to have a sneak peak at all of the old, and often hilarious, photos that my grandparents' wanted to share. Check it out.

And so did my parents! My sister, Alexis, and I decided this is our favorite photo of all :) Awe, they're so young and cute!

So anyway, I learned some new skills and I got to spend some time with tons of family members who I never see (not just ones who live in Montana, but others who traveled from far away), so the anniversary party was a fun event. But this week it was back to reality. I've got yet another event coming up on Sunday, which is Quinn's birthday party! I'm planning an amazing mermaid extravaganza for my little 3-year-old-to-be! So there's lots of work going into that. I'll give you all a little teaser just for fun (also because I don't have anything actually finished for you to look at!)

Oh, and then my own wedding anniversary was yesterday.... It's sad how it's just crammed in there and not really a big deal. Ok, ok, just kidding, we do care about our anniversary, but since it had the unfortunate timing of being stuck between two parties (I think Darren could tell I was getting a little stressed with so many events) we decided to celebrate next weekend. Which was officially my last free weekend of the Summer because that next Wednesday I'm heading out to VEGAS!!! I'm so excited! There is nothing I need more than a REAL vacation with my friends. Darren is staying home with the kids, so it's going to be all about me, and I can't wait. I also get to visit some other friends who live down there, so it's a double reward! Every mom needs a little time off to do something fun just for her. Whether you've still got a bit of party animal left in you, or you just want to recharge at the spa for a day or two, it great to have the opportunity to take a time out. Especially after 3 months of Summer Rush! Has anyone else had the luxury of solo vacation, or even a fun family vacay this Summer? I'm counting the days until mine, I love my kids, but my batteries are running low!

We moved two and a half weeks ago and through this move along with some other moves I have been through in my life I have learned some great tips when it comes to packing and keeping it as smooth and organized as ever without wanting to pull your hair out in the end. So I came up with my top 5 packing for a move tips that I want to pass on. These make it easier to stay organized while packing, loading up the truck, unloading the truck and most importantly for unpacking once you get to your new place. Lets be real here moving is so exhausting and the easier and more organized we can keep it the better and the more likely we are to stay sane for ourselves and our families. Moving and change is hard lets keep the packing and actual labor of the move as smooth as possible shall we.

Long story short this was a rushed move so I could use all the organization and the least amount of stress I could get.

These are my sweet boys sleeping in their bed at our old place for the last time. Yes I got all emotional about it because this is the only home either of my little boys have ever known. We moved there when Maddux was 2 months old and we brought Holden home from the hospital to this house. I am getting teary just typing this now.

Ok ok lets get to those 5 awesome tips....

{Tip No. 1}

1. Color code: This one is by far my favorite tip. Go out and get some colored duct tape one for each room or area of your home that you will be moving into. One you have assigned a color to each room as you pack you will label that box with that color tape and write with a sharpie the room and hat is in the box.

Here you can see all of my rainbow of colors once we started getting packed.

I put a big piece of tape on the top of the box and labeled it and then I put small pieces of the same color on each side of the box so no matter how the box was stacked you could see what room it went in to. This was great to keep them all organized in the moving truck and most importantly when you move all the boxes into the house you can quickly know where each box should be stored and unpacked latter.

Another sub-tip to go along with this is that when you unload the truck get the boxes in the house in the specific rooms they should be in {not in the garage or basement}. This is a good tip so that you can get all the heavy boxes in while you still have the help of family and friends from the move and then all you have to do is unpack each room. This saved me and it made unpacking so much quicker because I just wanted the boxes out of my house.

{Tip No. 2}

2. Pack your hang up clothes in a bag. Do not waste your boxes on your hang up clothes and hanger. Keep them all on the hanger and use a big garage bag to keep them all together and easy to transport. I just grouped a whole bunch together put the bag around the bottom of them all and then tied a knot with the draw strings from the bag around the hanger leaving the hook out of the bag. This keeps them organized, less wrinkled and much easier to unpack into your new closet.

I then labeled them with the tape color of their assigned room.

I did this to all the hang up clothes including our boys. All of our clothes in dressers we just kept in the dresser. Yes this is heavy but you just take out all the drawers move them into the truck and put the drawers back in this saves a lot of time and boxes.

{Tip No. 3}

3. Wrap wrap wrap. Make sure to wrap up your valuables. The worst thing is when you unpack a box and you have broken frames, memorabilia, decor items. or kitchenware. I learned this the hard way so wrap them. It doesn't matter how just do it you wont be sorry.

Use newspaper, paper towels, bubble wrap {we happened to just already have some}, or of course use your towels. I used all our towel to wrap fragile items I didn't pack a single one on its own. This is a free and most supportive way.

{Tip No. 4}

4. Bag your hardware, screws, nails and anchors. For each room when I would take anything down from the wall {pictures, decor, shelves, wall hangings, headboards, etc} I put them in a baggie, put the tape on them that coordinated with the room they were from {I told you the color coding tape was my fav tip} tabled what was in it and packed it in a box from that room.

This way you don't loose any of the hardware and you don't have to get new screws and nails. Lets save money anywhere we can right?!

{Tip No. 5}

5. Pack your items that will be in storage, garage or basement in plastic bins. This is huge for me if you have things such as holiday decor, camping items, baby clothes, and whatever else you store because it is not used all the time it is best to put them in bins and label the bins. Storage units can get infested with bugs or mice, basements can flood, garages can flood along with other damages. These bins protects those items.

These were in our garage at the old place, at the new place they are in the basement and I just love that they are good no matter where they go. They aren't in the garage this time because the extra space in the garage will be changed into a crossfit gym {woot! more on that to come}.

I hope these tips will help you as much as they have helped me. This really does bring the stress and anxiety level down a notch and I promise you, you will get your home unpacked so much quicker. Like I said we move 2 1/2 weeks ago during the summer holidays and crazy busy stuff going on with family visiting and I still am already mostly unpacked and even have decor on the walls.

The Best Cookies You Will Ever Eat {Practicing Pinterest}

Alright. Lets be honest with each other, shall we? How many times have you made a batch of cookies and thought to yourself "These are the best! I'm going to make these for the rest of my life! My kids will love them! My grandkids will love them! My great great grandkids will love them! Everyone will worship me and I will be known forever as 'The Greatest Cookie Maker of All Time!'".

Oh....thats not you? Well. It's about to be you! Let me tell you something. I'm some what of a chocolate chip cookie connoisseur. I try out new recipes all the time. Off pinterest, out of cooking books, recipes from my friends, recipes off the back of the chocolate chip bag. Everything. I never felt like they measured up to what I wanted them to taste like. And honestly, I'm not the type of gal to go making up my own recipe. So I just kept digging.

I found this recipe from one of my moms friends. And it's MONEY, I tell you. M-O-N-E-Y! I make this recipe consistently now and I ALWAYS get compliments. Not just the "oh you made these? they are good :)". I get the "HOLY CRAP! ARE YOU MARTHA STEWART?! WHAT DID YOU BAKE IN THESE? RAINBOWS AND FAIRY DUST? THEY ARE MAGICAL!" (ok, so no one has ever said that to me. But you get the general idea. These cookies are the bomb.)

Here, my friends. Have my recipe. Then go. Go and bake them. And let everyone tell you how glorious of a baker you are. These are fool proof. (And blonde proof.) No excuses.

The Undone Chocolate Chip Cookies

- 2 Cups Oil (you can use any kind. I use Canola)

- 1 Cup White Sugar

- 2 Cups Brown Sugar

- 2 tsp Vanilla

- 4 Eggs

Mix these first 5 ingredients together until creamy. Then add the last 4 ingredients to the creamed mixture

- 5-6 Cups of Flour

- 2 tsp Baking Soda

- 1/2 tsp Salt

- 1 BIG Bag of Chocolate Chips. (I use milk chocolate, of course.)

Spoon onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350* for 11 minutes. (They might not look done, but I promise, they are done :))

ENJOY!!!!

I felt like giving you all a treat and decided to showcase my bum in this pic. Ok, really I wanted to show off my leopard heels & the cool zipper on the back of my sweet pants. Whit and I got to have an awesome girls afternoon and found some KILLER deals at H&M. Only 7 bucks for these pink cuties! What makes it even sweeter is that Whit and I both got a pair of these pants, along with the same lace top. I didn't even notice we had the same outfit until we were checking out! I guess great minds think alike! But enough about where I got my stuff and on to what I was actually doing when I was wearing it. My friend's fiance had to go to some job training out of state for a few weeks, so we had a little going away dinner for him on this Saturday. It's nice to actually have plans on Saturday night so I can have a reason to put some effort into my look!

Hi. My name is Hailey and I am addicted to jewelry. Especially earrings. And don't you just love these little ladies that I bought from the buckle?! The turquoise blue is my fave right now. I wear these earring like everyday. AND I found this freakin' cute shirt at Kohls for $6! They had all sorts of colors and prints. And I only bought one. Now thats what I call self control. (Go Hailey!) This saturday was busy as usual. Jared, Grace and I all got ready and headed to Babies R Us to buy my sister in-law (and my soon-to-be niece) some goodies for her baby shower that night. I bought her some essentials (diapers, wipes, desitin, baby bath etc). THEN we headed to one of my most favorite lunch-ing spots ever! Chipotle! (vegetarian bowl is the bomb.) Then we headed to RC Willeys to look at some appliances for our new home. Lets just say everything is over priced. Also, can I hire a designer to come and decorate my house for me? Just thinking about decorating and organizing is making me crazy!!! AHHH! Anyways. We ended the night with my sister in-laws shower and a good old fashioned bbq. I love saturdays :)

As you can tell by my attire we had a night in. We had date night on Friday night, we went to dinner and a movie and it was so nice to go out. So Saturday was all spent hanging out with my boys. We went shopping, ate lunch out, and went to frogurt before bed. We were all exhausted by the time it was 8:30. The boys were in bed and I already had my Pjs on and my make up off it was glorious!!! The rest of the night was spent hanging out in bed watching some Netflix.

No More Sore Sandal Feet {Daily Diaries}

A couple of weeks ago I showed you how I re-vamped an old pair of sandals (which I've SO many compliments on!) so this week I thought I'd continue the summer shoe trend and show you how I upgraded a pair of Quinn's shoes. These adorable little babies were an Easter gift from Grandma, and we love them for so many reasons.

First, the adorable zebra print detail, because Quinn and I love pops of zebra (I may or may not have had zebra print accents at my wedding...), second, the sparkle jelly, and third, the neutral factor. These sandals can go with almost anything! Not too fancy, not too plain, and a color (or lack of one) that is universal. But now on to the cons. There is one thing that we definitely didn't like about these sandals. They gave Quinn ouchies! No matter how cute a pair of shoes is, if they're causing my baby pain then they're a no go. The first time Quinn wore these shoes they rubbed between her toes and gave her some nasty sores. Poor baby! Her cute shoes were causing her pain! That's something only grown women are supposed to put up with!

I was a little disappointed that the cute zebra sandals were going to be useless and then I had a light bulb moment. The only problem with them was the hard part between the toes, what if I could make that area not so hard? Luckily I happened to have the perfect material on hand to do just that. This fluffy zebra print faux fur - which was actually purchased to fix a pair of my sister's shoes a long time ago.

So check it out, here's how I de-ouchiefided Quinn's shoes -

WHAT YOU NEED:
Hot glue,
Scissors,
Faux fur (fleece, felt, or any soft fabric would also work)

This is so simple. All I did was measure the height of the "toe piece" on the shoes and cut a small srtip of fabric tall enough to fit and long enough to wrap around at least one time,

put some hot glue on the shoe, making sure the glue seem would be on the front and not between the toes,

then lastly I wrapped the fabric around the toe piece and added a little more glue to secure it

Voila! No more ouchies!

Now I realize that with the way kids are this mostly white fabric is not likely to stay that way, but I don't care too much. If it get's too nasty I'll just cover over it with some black fleece or something like that, but I wasn't about to go the store when I had this on hand. Fabric store with a toddler = torture. Aside from looking cute, this faux fur has been super functional. We haven't had a single owie or complaint since I "fixed" these shoes.

Mission success! I always love it when I can save something that seems like it's un-functional or broken. When Parker was a toddler he spoke these ever so profound words, "Mommy can fix it, she's a FIXER!" Which I like to think is true. My husband might say I'm more of a junk saver, ghetto-rigger, which is probably also true. But either way, I'm proud to have saved the cute zebra sandals, and I hope this tip will help save many other little piggies from ouchies!

This was one doozy of a Thursday at Undone, but sometimes life doesn't want to be nice to us...

EARRINGS, TANK, & SKIRT: Forever 21, WATCH: Fossil, NECKLACE: Aeropostale, SHOES: Aeropostale - bows added by me!

This was one hot and crazy day for me! It was lucky that I got dressed and ready for the day right when I woke up (that RARELY happens), because I got a call from my dad around 11:00 am asking me to go check on my sister because she cut her finger while house sitting for her boyfriend's family. I don't know why he called me since I can't stand blood and I don't know anything about cuts, but after consulting Google it looked gross enough for me to decide to take her to the doctor. Which was a good plan because it turned out she needed some stitches. So the kids and I got to spend our afternoon watching my sister get stitched up, but then we all went to nearby park and ate lunch, so at least that was fun. Except for the fact that it was SCORCHING HOT! We weren't at the park for too long before we decided to head home and bust out the swimming pool in the back yard, which is when this photo was taken!

Wow thursday was a tough day. It started out as any other day. But mid afternoon I got a text from my dad saying that one of my dear friends had been in a terrible car accident that shut down I-15. My dad also said that she had been life-flighted to the hospital and that it didn't look good. I prayed and prayed my heart out that she would make it out alive. But, about ten minutes later I received another text from my dad saying that my sweet friend had passed away. I cried and cried and cried. So here is my after-cry face. I'm still in shock that my beautiful friend is gone, but I know that she is in a much better place. She is now watching over her family and especially her twin sister. Pray for this sweet family and that the pain from their loss will subside. Rest in peace sweet girl. You won't be forgotten in our home.

You might have noticed an absence of Whitney, that's because she MOVING, and she's a little too undone to be on Undone right now!

If you're anything like us Undone Ladies you LIVE for the weekends. The beginning of the week is tough! Especially when it's before 10am. Lets see what we were up to last tuesday morning. Roll Call!

This is my "Why in the heck am I up this early!" face. I am usually never up and going this early. But Gracie hasn't been the best sleeper lately. I think it might have to do with the long daylight we have during the spring and summer months. Anyways. She was up by 7am. (Actually...probably a little before 7am. I let her hang out in her crib for a bit before I go in and get her. I always feel like there might be a chance for her to fall back asleep again. Has that ever happened? No.) So we spent the rest of the day outside in the beautiful sunshine! Taking walks, swinging, and sliding down the slide. I love summer time!!!

Our Disneyland Vacation! {Daily Diaries}

A little over a month ago Jared and I decided that we needed a vacation. We've discussed going to Disneyland multiple times, but the timing just seemed off. So when Jared had a 2 week break from school we decided to make the most of it and head to CA for 9 days. Let me share some tips/suggestions for traveling with a toddler and for getting the biggest bang for your buck.

First we had to set a budget and see what we could afford and where we could get the most bang for our buck. We decided to drive to CA instead of flying. Obviously it's a lot cheaper to drive instead of fly. We knew it would be difficult with a 21 month old in the back seat of the car so we downloaded some videos onto the ipad, bought some of her favorite snacks, and packed up all the toys we could fit into our Corolla. We broke up the drive to CA into two days. (Which seriously saved our sanity.) We left Ut around 7:30pm on friday after Jared got home from work and we arrived in Mesquite NV 12:30am (ut time). Grace did pretty well and slept most of the way to Mesquite. We stopped in Mesquite because we have a family condo there. So no hotel fee!

The next morning we woke up bright and early at 5:30am (thanks to Gracie), got ready and left around 8:30am. We stopped by McDonalds and grabbed some breakfast. We arrived at our hotel in CA (Fairfield Inn at Marriott) around 2pm. Grace, again, slept most of the way. She did break out her good old raptor/dinosaur scream a few times before we reached our hotel. I thought I might go crazy! lol! But she did do really well on the car ride there. I was a proud momma.

When we got to our hotel we grabbed some lunch and decided we couldn't wait to go to Disneyland. So we used one of our 3 day park hopper passes and went to Disneyland from 3pm-11:30pm. We wore Gracie out! She passed out in my mom's arms on the way out of the park. It was so funny! (Oh yeah! My parents met us in CA and were there from Sat-Tues.)

On Sunday we decided to visit Riverside Ca, where Jared served his LDS mission. We visited an old ward he served in and then went to his old mission presidents house. Jareds mission president and his wife were so nice and had nothing but great things to say about Jared. They sent us away with lots of goodies and gifts for our travel back to our hotel later that day. We took a detour on the way back to our hotel and went to huntington beach for an hour or two. The CA beach sunsets are something else! I love it there! If you know someone in CA take advantage of that and see if you might be able to stay with them a couple of nights or get together for a BBQ or something. This is another great way to save money. Having a rest day was totally crucial with a toddler. She was absolutely exhausted from Disneyland the day before. I'm so glad that we chose to have a rest day and just visit friends and have a low key day. I think if we didn't do that, Grace would've been totally grumpy and tired the rest of the trip.

On Monday we had another Disneyland day! We woke up bright and early and were there just as the gates were opening. In order to save money on food we ate off the dollar menu at McDonalds every morning for breakfast. Fast, easy, and cheap. (I know it's not healthy, but whatever. It's a vacation.) And McDonalds was literally right in front of our hotel. We chose an awesome location!

Before we left for CA I did a little grocery shopping for treats in between meals. Things like granola bars, goldfish crackers, peanut butter filled crackers, bananas, grapes, bottled water etc. This was crucial! Treats in Disneyland are outlandishly priced! (Don't get me wrong, we did buy a few treats here and there, but not a ton.) Having snacks while waiting in line for rides and such was awesome! We were never starving by the time lunch/dinner came around. And I'm positive that helped us save money too. So we didn't order a ton of food that we couldn't end up eating.

Tuesday we decided to have another beach day. We went to huntington beach all day long. (YUP. You guessed it. I was as bright as a tomato by the time we left.) It was nice to have another low key day. Grace was so tired again from doing Disneyland all day on Monday. She ended up falling asleep on my lap while we were sitting on the beach. It was pretty cute :) We brought lots of snacks, water, sunscreen, baby powder (a must have for removing sand on your feet, hands, etc. thank you pinterest!), towels, umbrella for shade, among other things. We had so much fun and played our hearts out! I love the California sun! We met my best friend, Jessica, and her family in Downtown Disney for dinner that night. Wednesday was another Disney day! Jared and I also celebrated 5 years of marriage this day. Jared made this whole day so special. At the end of the day Jared took Grace and I to dinner at a very nice restaurant in California Adventure park. We enjoyed a very nice 3 course meal and a beautiful view of the vineyard and water fountain. We then went to the Wonderful World of Color water show where we had second row seats. It was so much fun! And very romantic. I'm so glad that Jared asked me to marry him. He truly is my better half. 5 years is a long time! But it's gone by so fast! I'm one lucky lady! We definitely splurged this day. But we had a wonderful reason to! 5 years! Go us!

Thursday we headed to San Diego. We stayed right in the bay area. It was a lot of fun! We headed to Sea World right away and spent most of our day there. It wasn't as fun as I remembered as a kid. And it was a HUGE let down from Disney Land. All of their shows were really short. And most of them have turned into a Cirque De Sole show. There were tons of acrobats and divers. All I wanted to see were the dolphins!!! If I wanted to see Cirque I would've stopped in Vegas! I was pretty upset. And the Shamu show lasted like 10 mins! Needless to say, I'm not going to Sea World again. We ate at a burger place called Islands that Jared had been bugging me to go to. It was actually pretty good. And I'm not much of a burger gal. Grace slept on the bench next to me the whole time we were at dinner. We tuckered that girl out!

Friday we went to the San Diego Zoo. And we definitely got our moneys worth!!! The San Diego Zoo puts Utah's zoo to shame. This zoo is 100 acer's and the exhibits/habitats were amazing!!! If you have the chance to go to this zoo, do it! Totally worth it! Definitely bring your walking shoes. Lots of hills and trails to explore. We were fortunate enough to be there the day that they opened up the new Koala habitat. Those little guys are so cute!!! Grace was entertained the WHOLE time. (Just like she was at Disneyland!) The animals were very active and you got to see most of them up-close and personal. Jared and I were just as enthralled as Gracie was. The zoo closed pretty early, so as soon as it closed we headed to old town San Diego and had a blast! We visited the Old Mormon Battalion, ate some amazing mexican food, and enjoyed all of the old town culture. We loved it there!

Saturday we made our way back to Mesquite. We made a few stops along the way. Trader Joes, Old Town Temecula and dinner in Vegas.

Sunday we spent the day lounging and took our time getting home to Utah. It was such a great trip. We definitely had a hard time coming home and getting back into the groove of things. I wish everyday was a vacation! What a life :)

Ok, So here are my tips for planning a trip to Disneyland!

*Go with a Travel Agency! Especially if you are going out of town for a significant amount of time. We went through Get Away Today Vacations. They were awesome! And they saved us A TON of money. We received free breakfasts from our hotel in San Diego, free parking at both of our hotels (can you believe that hotels charge for parking now days?), an early bird pass to Disneyland park, and discounts to restaurants around our hotels. They even gave us lanyards and some sweet bracelets to boost your energy. Woot woot!

*Plan ahead! Take cash with you to the parks! A lot of places in CA charged us an extra buck or two just for using our debit cards! YIKES! Go grocery shopping ahead of time. Buy snacks, drinks, hand sanitizer, ponchos, etc. Make an itinerary of rides you want to hit everyday. That way you don't feel rushed or pressured to get everything done in one day. Also, if you have small kids you might want to seriously consider breaking up the days at the park with a beach day or just a relax day. I was so glad we ended up doing that with Grace. She would've been so pooped out and mean if we decided to go to Disneyland 3 days in a row.

*Get organized! Take the time to organize everything you're planning on taking with you on your trip. From clothes to toiletries and phone charges to itinerary. I organized every outfit of Graces in a gallon size ziplock bag. It saved me! I even labeled what day she was wearing what. That way if Jared needed to get Grace dressed, he could just grab the bag that said "Tuesday" and put it on her. It was great. Little things like that help A LOT. It seems tedious, but I promise you'll feel better about your organizational status. haha!

*Book a hotel that's close to the park! Like I said, our hotel was right across the street from Disneyland. It was great! I thought that I would go back to the hotel around 1pm everyday and put Gracie down for a nap. But I didn't. We had too much fun! But it was SO nice being able to just walk right across the street from Disneyland and have our hotel right there. Gracie fell asleep in our arms every night on our way to our hotel from the parks. Our arms were killing us by the time we got back to the hotel. Imagine if we had to load her in a tram, walk to a parking garage, load her in her carseat, drive how ever long to get to our hotel, and put her down for the night. It's such a hassle. I'm so glad we stayed so close to the park!

*Ask questions! The only thing we didn't pay for in advance was our meals and our tickets to the San Diego Zoo. We asked the hotel concierge some questions about the Zoo and come to find out, we could buy our Zoo tickets at our hotel AND they could give us a discount. We would've never known about the discounts if we wouldn't have asked.

We had an absolute blast in California! I would totally live there if it weren't so expensive! I hope you enjoyed my ramblings and got some good info for your next Disney vacation!!!

Bow Sandals Tutorial {Practicing Pinterest}

So every now and then I actually DO re-create something I've seen on Pinterest rather than just oohing and awing and feeling good about myself for wanting to do it.

One of those rare moments was inspired by these super cute bow sandals

Right away I pinned them to the "My Style" board, which is usually more like "Things I Like But Can't Afford or Obtain" board and where cute things go to die. But when it was time for summer shoes to come out I realized that not only can I make my own version of these shoes, but it would be SUPER easy! So here's how goes.

WHAT YOU NEED:

* T-strap sandals
* About 2ft of 1/2 inch ribbon
* 2 alligator clips (you can find these at almost any beauty supply store)

I had everything on hand, so this project was totally free for me!

I started out with these old shoes

Then I made two beautiful bows with the assistance of this video

I sealed the edge of the ribbon with a lighter then took an alligator clip and put it through the back knot of the bow. If you're less lazy than me and want your bow to be a little more durable you can secure it with a stitch or glue it down to the clip. I just didn't feel like waiting for the glue gun to warm up today.

Lastly I clipped the bow on to my shoe through the loop that connects the two straps. And voila!

So EASY! And I love them! Now these shoes are fancy enough to wear with dresses and will be a great sub when I'm just not up for heels - which is probably anytime I will be on my feet for more than 20 minutes... I chose to use a clip instead of gluing the bow down because I like to have options. You could seriously clip ANYTHING on to these shoes and change them up a million ways! I have a few other pairs of T-strap sandals that just might be borrowing these bows...

Patriotic Wood Flag Blocks {Daily Diaries}

I absolutely LOVE the 4th of July so I thought it would be fun to share with you this fun project I made. Lets just get right to how I made these adorable 4th of July Flag blocks shall we They are sooooo easy and I love how it turned out!

What you will need:

-a 2X4 piece of wood 27-30 9inches long

(I got mine for 51 cents in the Home Depot Clearance Wahoo!)

-A saw to cut your wood

-A tape measure

-sandpaper

-Red, White and Blue craft paint

-Sponge paint brushes

-Wood Stain

-Wood Glue or hot glue

-Wood star (I got mine at Michaels for 25 cents)

What I did:

First things first you need to cut your wood. I measured and marked mine and had my hubby cut it for me :) He is so sweet. You are going to want two 7 inch pieces, two 3.5 inch pieces and two 3 inch pieces

***Hint if you are going to go buy some 2X4 check the clearance wood section first. I got all this wood plus there was some extra for only 51 cents

The reason why I had two pieces cut at a 3.5 and two piece cut at a 3 inch instead of four at 3.5 inches is because like you can tell in the first picture when you lay the wood on the right straight up it is too tall so I cut two of the piece at 3 inches and like you can tell in the second picture that made it all even and perfect

Once all my wood was cut by my adorable husband it was time to paint. You are going to paint one 7 inch piece and one 3.5 inch piece white one 7 inch piece and one 3.5 piece red and one 3 inch piece blue. I also painted the wood star white.

After these were all painted I glued the two 3 inch pieces together to make it thicker. Next I sanded down the edges on all the wood pieces and the star to make it a more worn look. Lastly I got out some wood stain I had, called Early American, and I stained all the exposed wood including where I had sanded down on all the edges. I just felt like the stain finished it off nicely and it gave it the worn look i wanted.

The very last thing I did was glue the wood star onto the blue blocks and stacked them up in order.

All done! Maddux calls it my pretty flag :) and the whole thing only cost me 76 cents because I had everything on hand except the start and 2 X 4

Crazy Town {Daily Diaries}

I would like to apologize for my lack of posts lately, blogging kind of got neglected because I've been living in Crazy Town! Alright, maybe that's dramatic, I'm sure it only felt like crazy town to me because I'm Mrs. Stressy McStresspants who can't handle stress. Oy, it's awful being in my head when all of a sudden a zillion things need to be done. It's sad to say I think I've even gotten worse over the years. I think being done with school and free of working retail, where I had multiple stressors everyday, has caused me to forget how to deal. Of course, raising kids is stressful, but it's a different kind of stress for me, less deadlines looming over me. Those deadline are what really get my cortisol levels through the roof, and let's just say last weekend was the deadline for EVERYTHING EVER! Sort of. Maybe not everything ever, but there were a significant amount of events taking place in the span of a few short days and just thinking about it was enough to make me feel overloaded.

So everything ever really means two graduations, a book club meeting, and a family photo. That doesn't seem like that much right? Well maybe it wouldn't be if I hadn't volunteered to make all the decorations for my second-to-baby sister's graduation party on Friday night, AND offered to set up, OR if the second graduation wasn't over 400 miles away in Montana a day and half later. Squeezing a book club and a huge family photo in between was just the icing on the cake. Before the weekend even started I had to find the outfits for the photo, get the graduation gifts (I wanted something a little bit more than just cash for my little sis), plus I wanted my house to be super-d-duperty clean in case any relatives needed to crash at our place. Then there was just my regular crazy life of living with a two-year-old, a man child, and a boy child who has school events and playdates everyday. Are you starting to see why I wasn't blogging much?

Maybe for a normal person it would be more manageable, but I'm a perfectionist, over analyzer, stress case. Also, throw in the fact that Darren ended up taking a last minute work trip to Seattle from Tuesday to Thursday, AND there's been some other stress related to Darren's job, so yeah, I like to think maybe a normal person would neglect their blog too.

It was rough because I wanted to have everything done by Thursday afternoon, but that didn't really happen. I was at my parents' decorating until about 2am that night, the bags didn't get all the way packed until right before they were loaded into the car on Saturday, and LOTS of the house was left uncleaned. But oh well, I survived the days leading up and got to have a majorly fun time once the weekend hit.

Little Sister's graduation was great and all the decorations turned out super cute. And let me tell you, there were some headaches involved with these decorations. I only spent, oh, just a few hours on the computer designing things (because I'm crazy indecisive and can't even pick fonts!) before my program crashed and I lost half of it! There may have been tears. But at least I was much quicker at putting things together the second time around, and it all turned out sooooooo cute!

This picture is crap and it doesn't do it justice, but it's the best I could get of the epic banner I made. It's really hard to get a photo of something taped to a sliding glass door!!!

So much work! But it was worth it! Congrats Sister!

I feel so old to have my little sister all grown up! I remember when this little bugger was born! Seriously, I changed her diapers.

I also changed this little lady's dirty bum...

My cousin is only a few weeks younger than my sister and she ALSO graduated over the weekend! Of course we had to make the trek up to Montana to see her walk! Yay for road trips with kids! NOT! Close to 7 hours in a car with a 2-year-old is never ideal, but thanks to the iPad, Quinn was actually really good on the way there. The way back was a little different, but I suppose we can't be that lucky.

The trip was short but sweet. We jetted out right after our stressful family picture on Saturday - I think I actually picked some cute outfits, but due to time constraints and grumpy toddlers we'll be lucky if any of the photos actually turned out :( Blerg to that. At least we got a fun 1.5 day mini vacation in the end. Quinn LOVED swimming in the hotel pool. She has been obsessed with swimming lately and keeps saying "swim a mermaids!". I have no clue where that came from, but I think we need a mermaid doll for the pool!

Aside from the pool we also had a great time at my cousin's graduation party on Sunday.

Congrats Cuz! We're so proud of you!

I wish we could have stayed in Montana longer. It was so fun getting to spend so much time with my family over the weekend, even though it was major stress leading up to it! I forgot to mention how I was speed reading to be prepared for a book club meeting on Friday night (yeah, that's right, I'm in a book club, I'm cool like that. lol.) which ended up being cancelled. I was secretly grateful for that, because it meant I got to spend more time with my relatives who were in town for my sister's graduation - even though I killed myself to finish that book! I pretty much killed myself over everything, so I guess it's just the way it goes. Now my house is a giant mess again, the bags have yet to be unpacked, and all Quinn wants to do is swim. But at least I can relax a little bit. No deadlines looming about, making me nervous, just regular life messes and stresses. I guess I'm back from Crazy Town, for a little bit at least :)

Nursery Check In {Room Roll Call}

A few weeks ago we spiced up our Roll Call posts a little bit by bringing in a guest (if you want to be a Roll Call Guest go HERE and shoot us an email), and now we've got EVEN MORE Roll Call fun coming your way. This week we would like to introduce Room Roll Call, which is exactly what it sounds like. Remember a while back when we all shared post about where are littlest ones sleep? If you haven't seen those posts you can find them HERE, HERE, and HERE. It was super fun for us to share a bit of homes with you guys (particularly our cutest and most favorite rooms), but that wasn't the only reason we did those posts. We wouldn't be Undone if those rooms actually stayed in the condition they were originally photographed, and what could be more fun than a home tour, except and Undone home tour?

So here's the set up. Every now and then we're going to post about our homes, featuring the rooms we love most, the ones we hate, the ones we spend the most time, the ones you want to see, ect. ect. Then, after we've shown the room in it's best shape, we're going to come back at some random time and give you a Roll Call of what that room is looking like. Just like our fashion Roll Call, it might be fabulous or it might be a disaster, you never know what you're going to get.

Alrighty, now that you've got the low down on the situation, are you ready to see it? Here is a our very first room roll call, featuring NURSERIES!

I wont lie to you. I had just cleaned Gracie's room like an hour before I got the "Room Roll Call" text. How lucky is that?! We had just gotten back from vacation so her room was a DISASTER! So this looks so good compared to what it was. Keep in mind, we are living with my in-laws right now so if you don't recognize Gracie's room from our first nursery post, you've got a good eye. Right now her room is still in a bit of disarray. It's crowded and cluttered. We just don't have as much room as we used to. So. This is her room for now. And it's clean! YES!!!!

I hate to admit this, but this is not the messiest Quinn's room has ever been. She can be a little tornado some times, and since she found out how to open her closet door her room is basically never clean! I can't really say she put those dirty clothes on the floor though :/ Yeah, I know, I'm a bum. BUT I cleaned this room up the next day so we could shampoo the carpets, and there have been no dirty clothes on the floor since! Go me! Other than the crazy mess you might have noticed THE ADORABLE CINDERELLA BED! We got it! Like 2 weeks after I made the original nursery post I noticed the bed was no longer available online and I started to get worried that if we didn't make a decision on it soon we wouldn't be able to get it all! So I jumped and we went to the furniture store, and we left with the LAST ONE! Whew, glad I went for it! She totally loves it. One day I'll make an updated nursery post (or more like a big girl room post!) and give you guys a better glimpse of how I rearranged the room and how Quinn is doing with her "big girl bed".

So the above picture is so embarrassing, but yes that is half of the ABC wall down. Maddux is a little turd and he likes to pull the letters down. They are attached with command strips so they are easy to take down. I continually put them back up and when he wakes up from his nap the ones he can reach are back down. Seriously, he is that bored in there he had to do this every time. Grrr. Anyway we are moving soon and that ABC wall is going to be in a place that he cannot remove the letter so easily if it is the last thing I do. Also, no his bed is not made, and it rarely is because when they are napping I see no point. His room is usually put together except for the ABC wall and his dresser because his toys are in another room so it doesn't get too messy, just the things he finds to destroy during nap time.

Somedays I ACTUALLY get ready. Makeup and all. Today was one of those days. I spent most of my day recovering from our Disneyland vacation! I had been doing laundry and cleaning our car out most of this week. So I took this day off. Hooray for free days!!!!

I know it is shocking I am actually ready on a Thursday morning, when normally I'm in sweats or my hubby's bball shorts cleaning the house and doing laundry. Well of course it is only because I had a playdate at the park with some friends and our toddlers this morning. It was fun to get ready and hang out with some really fun ladies. I really needed it and I think my boys had a lot of fun too. I even wore lipstick, that rarely happens on a weekday, I think my hubby liked that surprise when he got home. After the park I did come home and clean once the boys were down for naps. Then after dinner we went to Dick's Sporting Goods to look at some new running shoes for me. It was a good, busy day.

I was in my comfy clothes cleaning until right before the hubs came home and then I got ready, went to my first treatment of laser hair removal {more about this later}, and then later that night I went to Zupas and visited with friends from my ward for the relief society activity. It was a good day.

Getting Gray Hairs {Daily Diaries}

As I've mentioned in my previous posts, we are living with my inlaws. Mainly so I can help take care of my husbands 93 year old Grandma, Grace. She is still pretty independent and only needs help with a few things. She is so easy going and sweet. I just adore her. Taking care of Grandma Grace has definitely been a eye opener for me.

When I was in high school I would volunteer at a rest home almost every day of the week. Particularly in the alzheimer unit. I loved those people so much. They never remembered my name and often would forget what we were talking about in mid conversation, but I enjoyed their wisdom and company. It broke my heart when one of them would pass away. They had become like family. And the alzheimer's unit would feel a little empty after someone would pass away. Growing older never crossed my mind when I was in high school. Reality is NOT reality in high school. We all lived in fantasy land in high school. So naive. So very naive.

But recently, having taken care of my Grandma Grace, growing old has been a pressing subject on my mind. And I won't lie to you. It's scary. From gray hair, dentures, alzheimer's, napping all day, and depends. It makes me nervous. There are few and far in between that make it to the very ripe age of 93. Especially in the condition that my Grandma Grace is in. She is amazing! But all of this has got me thinking....

I'm not sure I'm ready to grow old. I'm not sure I'm ready to leave my 20's. I like being able to walk fast, pick up my baby, feed myself without shaking, remembering what I just said, etc. How do you come to the realization that we are all growing older everyday? How have you prepared yourself to grow old? Is it something that you CAN prepare for? Or does it just happen without you thinking about it?

The only way I can think of HOW to prepare for old age is just taking care of yourself physically, mentally and spiritually. And that starts NOW! Eating healthy, exercising, learning new things, finding a religious path, etc. So, pretty much just doing what we already know! Is that enough, though?

How are you preparing for old age? Am I just overanalyzing everything? (I tend to do that...lol) Please let me know! This subject really has ben pressing on my mind A LOT lately. And I would love to hear your advice!
