A UFO hunter has spoken out about a recent breakthrough in his search for other life forms. Russ Kellett, of South Crescent, Filey, has gathered data spanning 30 years about flying saucers but believes this latest development could be an essential part of his research. Mr Kellett, 45, has been working with an expert in image enhancement to look back at video and photographic evidence. The expert, who Mr Kellett did not wish to name, found that some light sources on the footage could not be identified as man-made or natural light.

Thames Valley Police were contacted by a concerned man who spotted the ‘flying saucer’ hovering above Chieveley services at junction 13 of the M4. Reading Police spokesman Adam Fisher, when contacted by the Evening Post, confirmed officers had been told about the X-Files-style object. He said: “We were called at 8.40am on Monday, June 30, by a man from London who reported seeing a UFO over the Chieveley area that morning. His details have been passed on to a body that specialises in that field.”

It produced a blast hundreds of times stronger than the Hiroshima bomb, was seen hundreds of miles away and narrowly missed obliterating an entire city -- but 100 years to the week after the mysterious explosion in Siberia, no one is any closer to understanding what caused it. Despite countless investigations, the so-called Tunguska Event remains one of the 20th century's greatest enigmas -- seized upon by mystics, UFO enthusiasts and scientists as evidence of angry gods, extraterrestrial life or the impending threat of a cosmic collision.

Bucks County residents have their eyes on the sky after several reports of strange flying objects. Witnesses said they saw a strange ball of light near a local mall Tuesday, reported CBS station KYW-TV in Philadelphia. The Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) said five or six sightings have been reported in the area since the beginning of the year. Twin brothers from Morrisville cautiously gazed upon the unidentified flying object Tuesday afternoon. "It looked like a boomerang and it had red and white flashing lights," Cole Browndorf said.

The Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) has sent field investigators to check out three reports of strange crafts or lights flying over Lower Bucks County, a spokesman said yesterday.
As Carolyn Burns, 60, drove her 1997 Nissan Altima around town Tuesday, she spoke of ghosts. For years, Burns, a Columbus native, has heard ghost stories, read of them in books and experienced them firsthand. She helped establish and leads Columbus’ Ghosts and Legends Tour, pointing out haunted or legendary sites and telling their stories as she and her guests peer out from a school bus. The tour’s popularity has increased since its inception in 2006; on Oct. 24 and 25, when she gives the third-annual tour, three buses will transport guests — up from two last year — to meet the demand. She’s now compiling a booklet, to document the ghost stories she shares. She plans to publish it by October; the working title is “Haunted Columbus.”

The Pied Bull in Northgate Street is featured on this week’s episode of Whines and Spirits, the new series from the team that produced Most Haunted. Owners Carl Scourfield and John Wright said they were told the old coaching inn was among the top five most haunted pubs in the country. So it came as no surprise when, of the three pubs featured on the programme, the team chose the Pied Bull to carry out an overnight vigil.

The story of Lurancy Vennum and Mary Roff is still talked about today, some 100 years later. In July of 1877 that Lurancy Vennum began to experience periods during which she claimed to speak to spirits. One of those was Mary Roff, who had lived a few years before her. Mary, too, had had those same kinds of episodes where she claimed to have spoken to those from beyond. She was committed to an asylum in Peoria, where she died in 1865. There are people who believe the home is still haunted by both Mary Roff and Lurancy Vennum today.

For more than a century, it has cast its large and eerie shadow across the paranormal landscape. Although it's reportedly haunted by many spirits, the house itself is probably weirder than any ghost story. It is quite possibly the strangest house in America. Located in San Jose, Calif., the Winchester Mystery House is described by the National Park Service as "a large, odd dwelling with an unknown number of rooms." It is also one of California's best known tourist attractions. Today, tourists come to San Jose to see this incredibly strange house and hear the weird story behind its construction.

In 16 years, deputy Paul Hagan has never seen a ghost, but he's heard all about them, like the time when a fellow deputy used the satellite office on his midnight shift. Soon, stories like that spread throughout the department.<br/>
