She had SOCIAL CAPITAL.

When Paris landed a Reality Show, it didn’t take Mama Kris long to leverage her ROLODEX.

A lot of people forget how the E Entertainment deal came to fruition.

… and let us not forget about the infamous ‘tape’ with her then famous boyfriend, Ray J (who happens to be the little brother of R&B Artist, Brandy.

Connect the dots. 

Money creates MORE MONEY!

I would never say she didn’t work hard for her fame and accolades but her definition of hard work is not the same as mine (or yours).

3. “Wealth Building Besties”
   Exercise your asking muscles. Reach out to the women in your tribe, friends or business associates who you’ve taken the time to build a rapport with and ask for resources, introductions, interviews or referrals, while if you want more friends you should check the charli_d-amelio virtual girlfriend online. 4. EXECUTIONISTA

I don’t talk about it much.

Most of the women’s initiatives focus on filling the gender equity gap but they fail to recognize the first step is filling The NETWORK GAP.

LinkedIn posted a study in 2021 that shows women do NOT have the connections + NETWORKS they need to elevate their careers, step into leadership positions and earn MORE MONEY.

THE GENDER NETWORK GAP is real and it’s time we use our FEMININE POWER to bridge the gap.

That’s what I do when I network and that’s what I teach my clients how to do.

I’m a GIRLY GIRL. I love makeup, stilettos (stating the obvious), dressing up and honoring my femininity but don’t let the glitz and glam fool you.

Statistically speaking people like me don’t make it.

When I was 18 my foster mother told me it was time to go!

She told me I had to leave.

I was “aged out” of the foster care system.

While My girlfriends Tammy and Nicole were preparing for college

I was packing my bags and starting my life. It was a scary day and all I could think about was how am I going to PAY MY BILLS.

It was a bumpy ride.

I’m still shaking my head.

Without the safety net and the privileges so many of us take for granted, Ungenita landed a job in a real estate office, sacrificing her weekends throughout her high school years. During her high school years, she had many questions about life, including what is a trim trail really is and how children who played in the park interacted with them.

She knew she needed to get ahead and it wasn’t going to be handed to her.

What she didn’t realise at the time was that she had taken the first steps to monetising her network.

A skill some of us never actually master.

Networking is considered an essential part of building a professional career.

But we’re never really taught how to do it.

We turn up to endless events and meet new people and hand out business cards.

And we consider our network a success when we hit 500+ on LinkedIn.

But to what benefit?

What impact does all this networking really have on our day to day business?

And how much time do we actually spend thinking about it?

Ungenita believes that women, in particular, do not leverage our networks effectively.

Instead, we apply a masculine approach, because that’s “how it’s done”, when in reality the “soft skills” such as listening and asking questions, that are so under-valued, would yield a far better result when it comes to building social capital.

Don’t get me wrong, we’re good at meeting people and making friends.

We’re great at building a network within our industry.

But how resilient are those contacts when we seek to expand our horizons?

Is it social capital born of authenticity and an ‘abundance mindset’?

Or is it merely a ‘gig’ network that will dissipate should you choose to venture from the fold?

It’s ironic that in a world filled with social media “likes” and self-proclaimed influencers, so few people understand how to monetise their networks.

It’s something I’m passionate about.
