Real-life business simulator Uni2Biz has been invited to present its progress and results at the workshop "University-Enterprise Partnership – from Good Practice to Strategy" held on April 9, 2013 at the National Metallurgical Academy of Ukraine by the Capacity for Competency project.

Capacity for Competency is a European Union funded Tempus project for modernization of higher education in Armenia, Georgia and Ukraine.

Workshops "University-Enterprise Partnership – from Good Practice to Strategy" are targeted to share the experience obtained by project team with wide academic and business community from different regions of participating partner countries. The audience of workshop will be able to learn the European approaches and different types of university-enterprise partnerships from European and local staff participated in the project’s activities, take part in discussions of existing problems and working out of the Concept for efficient and sustainable university-enterprise partnership in Armenia, Georgia and Ukraine.

The nonprofit organization Code.org recently commissioned a short film titled What Most Schools Don’t Teach that profiled some of the most recognizable names in technology, along with musician will.i.am and Chris Bosh of the Miami Heat, to put out a call to get kids excited about something that is shrouded in geekitude: computer programming. In the short video, each technophile takes their turn diffusing some misconceptions about learning to program and relating what coding means to them personally.

A student has been expelled from Montreal’s Dawson College after he discovered a flaw in the computer system used by most Quebec CEGEPs (General and Vocational Colleges), one which compromised the security of over 250,000 students’ personal information.

On November, 21 2012 National metallurgical academy of Ukraine held the Career Day 2012 in the premises of the new library. Dnepropetrovsk region leading enterprises took part in the event: Daniele Heavy Machinery Engineering, Evraz Dnipropetrovsk Metallurgical Plant n.a. What’s the chance to find a job for graduate in Ukraine?

When studentship comes to its end, you begin to think about a job and what it should be. I think my job should be stable making me sure of my future, and give me development possibilities. I want the company where I will work to appreciate my hard work. I’d like to improve the quality of my life.

In winter I was preparing for graduating from two specialities: heating engineer and economic cybernetics, and at that time I’ve already began to search for a vacancy and send my resume to different companies. But I did not have any experience which was very disappointing. I hoped to find a solution to this problem at a career day in the National Metallurgical Academy of Ukraine (NMetAU) where I study. Dnepropetrovsk plants and firms informed the graduating about their requirements and invited to work after graduation.

19-Year-Old Squatted At AOL For 2 Months

For two months last fall, Eric Simons secretly took up residence inside the Internet giant's Palo Alto, Calif., campus, eating free food, enjoying gym access, and building a startup in the process.

It was 6 a.m. when Eric Simons was jolted awake by the yelling.

After working until 4 a.m, the 19-year-old entrepreneur had finally passed out. A few hours of sleep would help with the day ahead.

But unlike most people working at AOL's Palo Alto, Calif., campus who were surely still hours from showing up at the sprawling complex, Simons was already there. He'd been living there for two months, hiding out at night on couches, eating the company's food, and exercising and showering in its gym. And now, with an angry security guard bellowing at him, it was all over.
