As we move into spring with its longer days and warmer temperatures, we are excited about the many events that are taking place at Union School.

Important dates for March are below:

March 3 – Union Middle School Orientation for the current sixth and seventh grade students of Pierrepont and Union from 12:30 p.m – 1:45 p.m.

March 7 – Union Middle School Orientation for parents at 7:00 p.m.in the auditorium.

March 9 – Mid-marking period warning

March 13 – Daylight Savings Time Begins

March 14 – High School Orientation for grade eight students

March 14-17: Union Middle School scheduling for current sixth and seventh grade students at Union.

March 15-18: High School scheduling meetings for grade 8 students

March 20 – First day of spring

March 21 – 24: Union Middle School scheduling for current sixth and seventh grade students at Pierrepont.

March 24 – PARCC infrastructure trial test for grades 6, 7 and 8.

March 25 – School Closed (Good Friday)

March 30 – Spring Choral Concert at 7:00 p.m. in the auditorium.

March 31 – STEM Night at 7:00 p.m. in the cafeteria.

Re:     Union Middle School Orientation and Programming

 Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s):

The administration and Guidance Department will have the Union Middle School orientation for the current sixth and seventh grade students of Pierrepont and Union on Thursday, March 3 from 12:30 p.m. until approximately 1:45 p.m. During their visit, students will have an opportunity to become acquainted with Union School by touring the building and reviewing the Union Middle School Curriculum Guidebook.   Bus transportation will be provided for students from Pierrepont School to Union School and back. When students arrive to our school, they will be led into the auditorium. Here, students will learn about the middle school followed by a tour of the building.

We will conduct the same presentation in the auditorium starting at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 7, 2016 for the parents of students attending Union Middle School in September 2016. I would strongly recommend that you attend this event so that you can begin to learn about the programs and opportunities that are available for your child at Union Middle School. Once the presentation concludes we encourage you during the week to sit down with your child to choose electives and alternatives.

Please be aware that due to occupancy constraints for the auditorium, parents will not be able to attend the March 3 student orientation, but should plan to attend the same presentation on Monday, March 7.  

On March 14, 15,16 and 17 the Guidance Department will meet in Union School’s cafeteria to begin the scheduling process for next year with the current sixth and seventh grade students of Union School. On March 21, 22, 23 and 24 the Guidance Department will meet in Pierrepont’s Guidance Office to begin the scheduling process for next year with the current sixth and seventh grade students of Pierrepont. Parent(s)/Guardian(s) do not need to be present for the scheduling meeting since electives and alternatives will be chosen prior to the meetings.
