The digital era has brought about a lot of changes in the way we live our lives, and spend our leisure time, with a lot of industries suffering as a result of it – for example the music industry. One sector that seems to have not just survived this upheaval, but actually thrived in the new era, is the sports betting one. Bookmakers have been a fixture of British life for a very long time, but the availability of these services online has made them more popular than ever before – so what lies behind this?

One important factor is the increased popularity of sport in general, with football especially having a wider audience base than ever before – thanks to matches from the top leagues being screened around the globe. This greater awareness has surely contributed to the greater levels of interest in betting on football as well, because sports betting clearly adds to the excitement of the matches. Another key factor is the greater convenience and accessibility of online sports betting sites – something which is surely also a factor in the rise of online casino gaming during the same period.

Whereas in the days when people were required to visit land-based bookmakers and casinos, this tended to limit the appeal of these activities to core customer bases, whereas being able to participate in them from the comfort of your own home makes them appealing to those who would be uncomfortable visiting casinos or bookies in the real world. Furthermore with online casino sites such as those found at online casino Australia now offering very popular sports themed slots games, this has also probably contributed to the rising success of sports betting, because it will have helped to interest casino fans in sport – perhaps leading to them deciding to wager on actual sporting events as the next step from playing these games.

If you intend to place a wager on a certain horse, it wise to check out the horse’s history prior to doing so. The best way to do this is to attend the workout day. This is held prior to the major race and can reveal a lot about the horse’s ability.

The top five things to look out for during the workouts are the trainer’s ability, their status, the horse’s confidence and of course the betting odds. Other things to look out for include the horse’s stride, the racetrack, the conditions, the starting gate procedure and the racing sheets.

All of the above are huge factors to consider and should most definitely be noted prior to placing a bet.

Watching the trainers will allow you to note the speed of the horse. In order to do this correctly, you should watch out for bursts of speed and compare such tempos to the horse’s best-known speeds.

Racetrack conditions are extremely important. Overnight showers can have a major effect on the race course, which can in turn affect the horse’s performance.

The horse’s stride and confidence is something else that will give away the horse’s past experiences. For example if they have had an injury or a fall in the past, their stride will most likely give any signs of persistent damage away.

Many of the top performers are a little vulnerable to infection. Such diseases can make them perform at a much lower level. Watch out for signs of this.

Close attention should be paid to last minute declarations as even though racehorses tend to love the competition, they can sometimes be affected by the change in the nature and also the varying number of horses taking part in the event.

Horse racing events such as the <a href+"http://www.grandnational.me.uk”>grand national are always the most important events on a bookmakers calendar. Make sure you check out this year’s odds and free bets offers.

The Dolphins Special teams allowed a kick return for a touchdown, block punt, and a blocked field goal for a touchdown on Monday nights game vs the Patriots. The Dolphins are coming off a game against the Jets were they allowed a block punt. Not to mention the 2 block kicks that happend during the pre-season. Bonamego who is enter his third season as Special teams coach is the talk of the town. Dolphins fans have began the witch hunt for Bonamego. A lot more of the talk will be about the Miami Special teams as the Dolphins have to wait two weeks until there next game at Green Bay.

Dolphins fans are also done with the wildcat, that phase as passed the team by. The team only used the wild cat once during Mondays game vs the Patriots on a 3rd and 6th. In which killed a drive for the Dolphins as they didn’t make the first down. Fans called the radio station and are saying the wildcat interferes with the rhythm of the Chad Henning and the Dolphins offense. So, the formation which capture the hearts of Dolphins fans last season has been figured out by NFL teams. So look for major changes from the Miami Dolphins after the bye week started with there special teams and the extinction of the wildcat.

Now that the website has been upgraded and we are almost where we want the site to be, we are looking for feedback on doing a contest. We are thinking a refer a friend contest might be the best. We would probably do something where the top 3 people with the most new friends/signups starting on a certain date will win some prize money. Keep in mind that if you already have a ton of friends on SportsBlogNet.com you will not have an advantage. Basically we will look at the database from a certain date and if you have the most friends that have created new accounts then you win. Keep in mind adding friends that are already members won’t count. It will only be adding new friends that signup after the contest start date. Don’t bother thinking you can create fake accounts as we are able to look at IP addresses of new signups and we would reserve the right to disqualify someone for suspicious behavior

What is everyone’s thoughts on this? Would you enter this contest? Do you have a better idea for another contest? We would love to hear everyone’s feedback.
