Pinnacle announces new Worcester office as growth in customer base fuels expansion.

Pinnacle Computing continues expansion of its UK & Irish operations with the opening of its 9th office at United Business Centre, Worcester.

Pinnacle, a Sage business management software provider, has chosen the Worcester site for its ninth UK office, saying that the move is a reflection of the company's continued success.

In launching the latest office James Spencer, Pinnacle MD, said: "We have expanded our operations to support national growth adding additional service heads based locally at our state of the art offices in Worcester. MJD consultancy latest to move into UBC Coventry

UBC has signed up its first client for one of the company�s newest serviced office centre based in Wakefield, Yorkshire. The deal with financial services company Alexander Forbes has been concluded with commercial property agent Sanderson Weatherall, based in Leeds.

Board of directors take the reins at UBC

United Business Centres plc (UBC) has announced that the company will now be managed on a co-operative basis by its board of directors. Following a period of unprecedented expansion which has seen the firm grow from five to 23 centres across England within the first six months of 2008, UBC will focus in the short term on consolidating its current position in the market and review its expansion plans in 2009.

This new development also sees Tim Jackson-Waite, previously Head of Operations, appointed to the board in the newly created role of Operations Director. Tim joins Finance Director Christian Osborne, an original board member, and Sales Director Ken Oakes, who joined UBC in August 2008, to form an experienced triumvirate of combined skills that will define UBC�s direction and drive the company�s growth.

UBC Gatwick has been selected by Big Brother producers Endemol UK to become the sacking venue for the TV company�s latest venture, Celebair. The show, which airs on ITV2, brings together a host of celebrities tasked with running an airline.

Each week, celebrities are judged and rated by their own passengers and the worst performer gets given the boot on screen in the boardroom, hosted at UBC Gatwick.

Irish building firm opens UK office at UBC Birmingham

UBC Stansted gives green light to charity

UBC Stansted, part of the United Business Centres plc network of serviced office centres, has initiated a combined recycling and Cancer Research charity campaign. Staff at the business centre have begun collecting empty ink toner cartridges from UBC�s client occupiers and recycling them each month, with all the proceeds going directly to Cancer Research UK.

Leanna Dileva, acting Centre Manager, said: "We have all known sufferers of cancer and we feel that the great work of Cancer Research UK deserves our support. We also actively promote a green approach to our business and by encouraging our customers to recycle we can also help charities to benefit."

BT deal with UBC for business centres

BT has signed a deal with United Business Centres plc (UBC), one of the UK�s fastest growing serviced office providers, to put business centres in strategic locations totalling 99,000 sq ft across four sites in Fleet, Bracknell, Gloucester and Telford.

The Agreement, with GVA Grimley and Telereal representing BT, sees UBC operate its serviced office centres at the sites via a Management Agreement with BT. Fit out at all four locations has already begun and the new centres are expected to be open for business within a few weeks.

Matt Musson of BT Property commented: �The relationship with UBC marks a new development for us, enabling us to maximise occupancy of our portfolio and generate a return via a management agreement.�

UBC offices across the country will soon enjoy a touch of glass as contemporary art studio, The House of Ugly Fish, agrees to provide a range of its bespoke fused glass artwork to adorn the walls of all centres in the network.

The House of Ugly Fish, based in Cheshire, produces stunning fused glass artwork. They are famed for their innovative design and 3D work. The artwork is similar throughout the UBC centres but each piece has been hand made by one of their designers, therefore are all originals. The idea was to create an impact in a unique way and to add to the existing contemporary layout and design of the UBC centres.

Kelly Blowes, Centre Manager at United Business Centres in Stansted entered a team into this years Race for Life in support of Cancer Research UK. Here is her account:

"Since Race for Life began in 1994, women across the country have raised over £100 million for Cancer Research UK and this year they have an ambitious fundraising target of £46 million. Cancer Research UK is the world's leading independent organisation dedicated to cancer research, with a team of over 3,000 scientists, doctors and nurses.

"My friend Emma asked me if I'd like to get into the spirit of Race for Life by running and forming a team with United Business Centres as the sponsers. My Nan died of cancer and my Godmother, Trish contracted breast cancer a few years ago. Their courage throughout their ordeal really spurred me on to train and take part.

"The Woodford Girls team was born and our race was in the City of London. Luckily for us the weather was fantastic which bought out crowds of well wishers. The inspirational messages on the runners backs and the support of our friends and family really motivated us.

"The feeling of achievement when I crossed the finish line was like nothing I have ever felt before. Don't get me wrong it was hard work but I managed to run all the way. I'm so glad I got involved, it was one of the most emotional but rewarding experiences of my life, and we raised over £1000.

"With 230 Race for Life events happening across the UK this summer there is sure to be one near you - so get your running shoes on!"

Help to ‘Create a Difference’

Benefit from a unique charity fundraising concept, and sign up for a half day course which will help you to develop ideas and create new opportunities for your business.

The event was devised at a Chamber of Commerce Networking meeting, and involves a unique partnership between the charity MedEquip4Kids, conference specialists United Business Centres, and an innovation consultancy Coaching Ideas Limited.

MedEquip4Kids is a charity that supplies special medical equipment for children to hospitals and ambulances in the North West. MedEquip4Kids is currently working on a variety of projects in children's wards and neonatal units, supplying vital, often life saving, equipment and also improving the environments with child friendly decor and distraction equipment.

United Business Centres provide prestigious service office space and conference facilities in prime locations has offered their conference facilities at Digital World Centre. The Digital World Conference Centre, is a specialised business to business venue that offers a state of the art conference and meeting resource in the heart of Salford Quays.

Coaching Ideas is an innovation consultancy which helps companies and individuals to become more creative. One aspect of Coaching Ideas’ work is to run seminars which enable delegates to improve their creative thinking skills, and to see things from new perspectives. A special ‘Creating a Difference’ workshop has been developed, during which you will hear about creative thinking skills, practice with other delegates, and have plenty of opportunity to learn how to apply these skills to your business. The workshop will be led by Ian Walton, who has 25 years of global business experience in over 30 countries, including 10 years living in Japan and Thailand.

Because both Coaching Ideas and the United Business Centres have offered their expertise and facilities for free, all income from the workshop will be donated to MedEquip4Kids.

The charity representative, Sid Richards, who is coordinating the event, said ‘I am really delighted to be organising this exciting event. It will be of benefit to everyone involved, and of course the charity will also profit from the generosity of United Business Centres and Ian Walton’.

The half-day workshop, entitled, ‘Creating a Difference’, will take place on the afternoon of July 20^th. Refreshments will be provided, and the total cost to registrants is only £60. On 1st April, Paul Britton took over as Conference Manager at the prestigious Digital World Centre, Salford Quays - The Manchester site of United Business Centres plc

Vibrant Art at Birmingham

United Business Centres is constantly looking for ways to maintain a bright, modern atmosphere at their centres and at Birmingham we have recently had the opportunity to do just this.

Born in Dumfries, Scotland in 1976 Victoria Stewart graduated with a BSc Hons. Degree in Fashion and Textile Design Management and moved to Birmingham in 1999 to work as a fashion Designer.

She enjoyed regular travel, visiting suppliers and customers throughout the UK, Italy and US, gathering inspiration from her varied surroundings.

Personal experience and imagery collected from travelling are expressed in her work using intense acrylic colours with a monochromatic style, incorporating various focal points within forms, pattern and texture.

Victoria now has an art gallery located at Stow-on-the-Wold and distributes her collections to various galleries that sell her work throughout the UK.

Whilst being a colourful addition to the already contemporary décor at Concorde House the display of art can be viewed by any visitors and is also available for sale.

In the early years InterAct Consulting's focus was on high-quality permanent and contract IT recruitment. This has now developed into the recruitment of project managers, business analysts and legal eagles, as well as secretarial and administration personnel.
