September, the month kids go back to school, but for the racers of the ULMS Racing Series it is the MONTH OF MONEY! Over $200,000 is up for grabs for ULMS racers in the Northern Tier Inc ULMS Late Model Series and the United Emod Series.

It all starts on September 4th and 5th at Tri City Speedway in part of the annual Labor Day Oil City Classic featuring the World Of Outlaw Late Models. The United Emod Series will have two separate events paying $1000 each to win. The Sunday program will see a increased payoff from second place on down, with the starting pay being $170 for a 25 lap conclusion. Carl McKinney and Rich Michael both have UEMS wins this year at Tri City Speedway. McKinney sits second in points, while Michael is in third with five UEMS wins to date. Raceivers and Transponders are mandatory at Tri City Speedway. Raceivers can be rented or purchased at the UEMS registration table where the entry fee is $10 per event.

The following weekend, will see a joint ULMS/UEMS venture to Stateline Speedway in Busti, NY. The action at Stateline will start on Friday, September 10th and conclude the next day with two separate programs. Sunday, September 12th will be used as a rain date if needed. The UEMS Emods will participate in two separate programs with Friday nights events paying $1000 to win, while the main event on Saturday will see $2000 going to the winner. A three thousand dollar weekend without leaving the track! Current, UEMS point leader, Randy Hall is coming off a win at Stateline and no doubt will take the knowledge of what he learned to win that weekend. He will have his hands full with Rich Michael, Greg Johnson, UEMS Emod Invasion winner, Dave Hess Jr along with approximately fifty other Emods from, New York, Pennsylvania and Ohio. Raceivers are mandatory within ULMS Racing Series. Raceivers can be rented or purchased at the UEMS/ULMS registration table where the entry fee is $10 for Friday night’s program and $20 for Saturday nights $2000 to win Emod finale.

The Northern Tier Inc ULMS Late Models will be in action as well both days with two (2) five thousand dollar to win events! With $10,000 available for two days of action, a great field of cars should be on hand. As per agreement with Stateline Speedway management, both nights of ULMS Late Model action will feature a AMERICAN RACER tire ONLY TIRE RULE. So far this year in three nights of ULMS action at Stateline, David Scott, Mike Knight and Rob Blair have graced victory lane! David Scott currently leads the $1000 Stateline-ULMS challenge points with a one point lead over Dave Hess Jr. Mike Knight is within striking distance as well as these three drivers will be gunning for $11,000 that weekend! A whos who of regional stars will be on hand including Dick Barton, Chad Valone, Chris Hackett, Briggs, Davies brothers and many others. Raceivers are mandatory within ULMS Racing Series. Raceivers can be rented or purchased at the ULMS registration table where the entry fee is $40 for each night.

Both the UEMS and ULMS series will travel the following weekend to the Monster Half mIle oval in Imperial, Pennsylvania for the 21st annual Pittsburgher weekend. Friday, September 17th will see the UEMS Emods compete in their qualifying heat events, while there will be a non sanction late model event paying $2000 to win. On Saturday the activities start at 4pm for the consolations as the UEMS Emods will compete for a $1200 to win event that has a total payout of over $9000 and last place will get $200 to start! The ULMS Late Models will join the UFo Late Model Series in the Pittsburgher for a 66 lap main event paying $7000 to win. Raceivers are mandatory within ULMS Racing Series. Raceivers can be rented or purchased at the UEMS/ULMS registration table. Transponders are mandatory within PPMS and they can be rented at PPMS.

The busy jam packed month of September and the MONTH OF MONEY will conclude at McKean County Raceway in E. Smethport, Pennsylvania with the 5th annual MCR FALL CLASSIC. This year’s event marks the biggest event in MCR HISTORY with over $17,000 available for the Northern Tier Inc ULMS Late Models. It all starts on Thursday, September 23rd with the annual ULMS Late Model King of the Hill competing for $1500 to win. Past winners have been Boom Briggs (08) and Mike Knight last year. Briggs used the 2008 win to spear head himself to a $15,000 dream weekend by sweeping all three nights of action. There will be open practice as well for all classes including the UEMS Emods

On Friday, the 24th of September the United Emod Series will be in action with a $1500 to win event. Dave Hess Jr won his first ever UEMS win last year on this night, can he repeat? Will MCR dominator, Randy Hall and the UEMS current point leader stake claim to his hometurf? Or will a Rhebergen, Brewer, McKinney, Asel find their way to victory lane. Raceivers are mandatory within ULMS Racing Series. Raceivers can be rented or purchased at the Close Racing Supply trailer. The entry fee is $10 for Friday night’s program for the UEMS Emods.

The Northern Tier Inc ULMS Late Models will also be in action on Friday night with a 30 lap $2500 to win event. Boom Briggs has won this event the past two years and has made the Fall Classic his little personal playground. He no doubt will be tough to beat but so will Matt Lux who has a guaranteed starting spot for Saturday’s big event. Don’t count out Gregg Satterlee, Knight, Blair, Chad Valone and David Scott either. Briggs won last years event with a lap 28 pass on Dan Stone to capture the event.

Raceivers are mandatory within ULMS Racing Series. Raceivers can be rented or purchased at the Close Racing Supply trailer. The entry fee is $20 for Friday night’s program for the ULMS Late Models.

The 5th annual MCR FALL CLASSIC concludes on Saturday, August 25 with Priority Care RaceFAN 50 for the Northern Tier Inc ULMS Late Models. This year’s event will pay a series and track record breaking $13,000 to win! Who will be the lucky driver going home with the 13G’s? All the past winners will be on hand of this event, Chub Frank (06), Rob Blair (07), Boom Briggs (08) and Russ King (last year). They all will have to contend with the ULMS followers of Bump Hedman, Dennis Lunger, Dereck Frank, Brent Rhebergen, “The Captain”, Jason Dupont, Valone, Scott, Knight, Hess and MCR legend and defending 3 time ULMS champion, Bob Close in possibly his final event in the famous #04 Close Racing dirt late model. Raceivers are mandatory within ULMS Racing Series. Raceivers can be rented or purchased at the Close Racing Supply trailer. The entry fee is $100 for Saturday night’s program for the UEMS Late Models.

The UEMS Emods will be gunning for $1500 to win on the very same night! Giving them a $2500 weekend at MCR! No doubt all the UEMS stars and top regional Emod racers will be at MCR on this night and weekend! Hall, McKinney, Michael, Gasser, Rhebergen, Bedell, Vena, Brewer, Peterson, Eschrich, Hess, Johnson, Shingledecker, Douglass, Carlson, Davies and thirty to forty more Emod racers from New York, Pennsylvania and Ohio will be on hand. Raceivers are mandatory within ULMS Racing Series. Raceivers can be rented or purchased at the Close Racing Supply trailer. The entry fee is $20 for Saturday night’s program for the UEMS Emods.

Imperial, PA (August 28) On Saturday night there was a doubleheader at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway. The regularly scheduled 44-lap Red Miley Rumble was won by Josh Richards from Shinnston, WV, earning him in excess of $4,000 as numerous individual sponsorships increased every position in the race. Also on tap in the co-sanctioned show between the UFo Race Championship and ULMS Racing Series was a makeup race from the PENNational event on July 24, when the second of the two events that night was canceled by rain. That gave the fans an added bonus of the 28-lap make-up race from that night. Current PPMS point leader Mike Johnson cruised to victory in this event, earning the $2,000 top prize.

A field of 45 cars turned out under brilliant sunny skies for the Red Miley Rumble. The field was divided into five qualifying heats of ten laps each. Josh Richards was the winner of Heat 1, from sixth starting position. Bart Hartman took the win in Heat 2, after starting eighth. Jared Miley won Heat 3, from fifth spot. Heat 4 went to Brandon Burgooon from third on the grid. Keith Barbara came from sixth to win the fifth heat. After Steve Baker and Ben Miley won the two B-Mains, 32 cars were set for the feature grid.

The top ten drivers redrew for their starting spots for the Red Miley Rumble. Jason Covert and Davey Johnson led the thunderous roar of 32 cars at the drop of the green flag, with Johnson leading the opening lap over Boom Briggs, sixth starting Josh Richards, Covert, and Jared Miley. Richards advanced from third to second on lap 2, as he was quickly on the move. Covert settled into third, ahead of Miley and seventh starting Bart Hartman by lap 5. The leaders were setting a scorching pace, as they reached race traffic by lap 6 as the battle for the lead between Johnson and Richards was on. With a turn three pass in race traffic, Richards made the pass to become the new leader on lap 10.

Green flag racing continued as the field raced from top to bottom on the ultra-wide PPMS oval. Richards had a good lead built up when the first yellow flag of the event waved with 15 laps complete. Fifth running Hartman exited the event with a broken driveshaft at this point. One more lap was run before the caution appeared again. Richards continued to lead until lap 20, when the race was slowed again when second in UFo points John Mollick lost power in turn two. The fourth caution period of the race came when a turn one incident on this attempted restart involved six cars.

Racing resumed with Richards choosing the outside lane for the double file restart, and he again nosed ahead to lead the race over Johnson, Covert, Miley, and Briggs. Briggs passed Miley for fourth on lap 23. The final caution of the event was on lap 29, when Miley slowed in turn two. Richards continued to show the way, as 19th starting Dave Hess, Jr. used the inside lane to pass Mike Johnson for fifth. Hess gained another spot the next time by, passing Briggs for fourth.

Josh Richards would race away unchallenged to the checkered flag, taking the win over Davey Johnson and Jason Covert. Dave Hess, Jr.cam from 19th to finish fourth. Boom Briggs was fifth, as Mike Johnson, Tommy Beck, Keith Barbara, Lynn Geisler, and Gregg Satterlee rounded out the top ten.

In the PENNational make-up race, all 29 cars that were on hand for the original event were given starting spots in the main if they returned for the event. 26 of the 29 returned, but two drivers were unable to start, leaving 24 cars to battle in the main. John Flinner won the first of the two scheduled PENNational events, and drew a 12 for the invert for this race. That put Dennis Lunger and Brandon Wearing on the front row for the 28-lap event. Lunger led the first lap over Boom Briggs, Keith Barbara, Steve Baker, and Wearing.

The marathon that was lap 2 was scored with Briggs leading Barbara, Lunger, Baker, and Mike Johnson. When the yellow waved for a spin by UFo point leader Chad McClellan, it set off a chain of dominoes that saw all four caution periods of the event take place on this lap. The worst incident of the race was the third caution period, triggered when leader Briggs lost power on the restart, causing a big tangle on the homestretch damaging several cars.

Once lap 2 was finally in the books, the race thankfully ran through without further incident to the checkered flag. Barbara and Mike Johnson crossed the line side-by-side at lap 3, with the computerized scoring showing Johnson leading by .002 seconds. Lunger, Baker, and Wearing kept up the chase. Johnson nosed ahead into the lead, Baker took third from Lunger on lap 4, with Lynn Geisler moving to fifth. Geisler took fourth from Lunger on lap 6, as Johnson pulled away in the lead. Geisler passed Baker for third on lap 8, and closed on Barbara for second. Johnson had a big lead, and he was fortunate that he did, as he found his path blocked by race traffic.

What was now a battle for second between Barbara and Geisler had them quickly closing on the leader, before Johnson finally threaded his way through the traffic. Though Geisler nosed ahead of Barbara near halfway, Barbara eventually regained the spot and held the runner-up spot comfortably. Baker caught and passed Geisler to regain third with 21 laps complete. Also on lap 21, Brandon Burgoon, from 22nd starting spot, passed Lunger to take fifth.

Mike Johnson had no problems over the remaining distance, as he went on to score his first UFo Series victory after starting ninth. Sixth starting Keith Barbara came home second, as the third place driver in UFo points gained a lot of ground on the point leaders. Steve Baker was third from tenth, and Geisler was fourth after starting 12th. Brandon Burgoon came from 22nd to fifth. Filling the top ten were Dennis Lunger, Brandon Wearing, John Flinner, Jim Stephans, and Tommy Beck.

Conneaut, OH (August 27, 2010): The ULMS Super Late Models returned to Raceway 7 with a special feature that started 26 cars. The event, originally scheduled for August 6 had been rained out after the starting field was complete so any new cars were added at the end. When the race had completed its 30 lap distance, it was one of Raceway 7’s all-time leading winners, Dick Barton, continuing his mastery of the northeast Ohio speedplant by leading the field to the checkers.

Chad Valone, winless at Raceway 7, started on the pole with 4-time Super Late Model Champion Dick Barton on the outside front row. Barton immediately drove to the lead but Valone stayed within striking distance for the first three laps and was alongside in the turns until four cars spun in turn one, bringing the field under caution. Rob Blair, also a four-time track champion, got by Valone at lap five, putting two of the winningest drivers in Raceway 7’s history at the front. At lap ten, Boom Briggs joined the fray at the front but a lap later Barton started stretching out his lead. Another caution at lap 14 again slowed the field and again Blair and Barton restarted together at the front. Barton, again using the superior high line, rocketed into the lead with Blair second. Chris Hackett replaced Briggs in third at lap 16. With five to go David Scott came to third. Barton, an acknowledged master of Raceway 7, went on to the win over Blair, Scott, Hackett, and Briggs.

The busiest year in the history of the Northern Tier Inc ULMS Late Model Series is slowly winding down. With three events on tap next weekend to finish the month of August before a jam packed month of September to determine the 2010 Northern Tier Inc ULMS late model champion.

On Friday, August 27, the ULMS Late Models return to Raceway 7 in Conneaut, OH for the feature portion of the August 6th event that got washed out. Three heats were completed and the 21 car field was set for the $2000 to win “Fallen Heroes of Raceway 7 Memorial” in part of the tracks 40th Anniversary celebration. Dick Barton, Ed Carley and Rob Blair won the three heats back on the 6th of August. Carley is listed to be on the pole for the 30 lap main event due to the Coors Light Redraw but he may not be on hand as blow motor last weekend at Woodhull Raceway may sideline the Freedom NY driver for the remainder of the year.

Per agreement with Raceway 7 management, any new cars may attend this event as the field will be increased to 28 total positions. The ULMS portion of the program will be a fast paced program as the Raceway 7 surface should be in immaculate shape for the 750 horsepower machines in their only visit of the 2010 season at the Conneaut, OH oval.

The very next night, the Northern Tier Inc . ULMS Late Models head south on I-79 to Pittsburgh PA Motor Speedway for the Red Miley Rumble and the conclusion of the July 24 F2 Shockwave Twin 28 program. First the Red Miley Rumble will be a 44 lap event paying a minimum $4371 to win and $206 to start the 32 car field. There will be two (2) ULMS provisionals for this event. The conclusion of the evening will be the second Twin 28 event from the July 24 F2 Shock Wave that was washed away. ULMS stars, Mike Knight and Dennis Lunger will pace the 24 car field for that event that will pay $2000 to win. ULMS stars expected at both venues are current point leader, Boom Briggs, Bump Hedman, who sits just five points back of Briggs. Dennis Lunger, Brent Rhebergen, Dereck Frank, Knight and the captain Jason Dupont is expected to make his 2010 PPMS debut as well.

For full information on the these two events check out the ULMS website at www.unitedlatemodelseries.com or the tracks websites at www.raceway7.com or www.ppms.com

Scott Lebarron grew up just a few miles from the high banks of Woodhull Raceway in Woodhull, New York but the Dover, PA resident comes home once every year to tackle the high banks at his “home” track for the annual Late Model Reunion. This year, Lebarron found victory lane in front of the hometown fans and wrote his name down in the history books for the 19th running of the ULMS Late Model Reunion!

The front row was comprised of the top two finishers in last year’s edition of the Late Model reunion. Three time defending ULMS champion, Bob Close and Boom Briggs were the front row starters for the 30 lap event. Briggs shot out into the early lead from Tony VanPelt’s green flag as Close slid into second with Lebarron right in tow. Lebarron would grab second from Close on lap three. Bump Hedman would apply pressure on Close as the #04 uncharestically would lose another spot and now had Dennis Lunger on his bumper applying pressure. By this time Lebarron was keeping pressure on Briggs who was using the high groove to his advantage.

Lap eight would see the first yellow for Curt Tunilo Jr of Montrose, PA who came to a stop in turn two ending his night in his first ever ULMS event. Briggs would choose the outside lane for the double file restart. Briggs would again lead the field into turn one as Lunger now applied pressure and made the pass on Close for fifth on lap nine. The very next lap, Close would make contact with Lunger as both cars would lose spots to Brent Rhebergen and Grant Adams. At the halfway point, Briggs would still get pressure from Lebarron as the two had two complete different lanes. Hedman was sitting pretty in third as Rhebergen and Adams would be your top five. Lap 21 would see Lebarron pull even and make the pass for the lead on Briggs. The next lap would see the yellow lights flash for 2000 Reunion Winner, Ed Carley who was running solidly in the top five. With an eight lap shootout, Lebarron knew Briggs and company were coming after him. Lebarron drove a smart eight laps and showed he had a better car. The final few laps the battle was for fifth between Adams, Billy Marvin and fourteenth starting Jason Dupont, with Marvin coming out on top of that battle over Adams and Dupont. Jeremy Ohl finished eighth with Lunger coming home ninth despite running the last eight laps with a right rear flat tire and Dereck Frank finishing tenth in their first ever visit to Woodhull.

ULMS will be back in action on Friday, August 27 at Raceway 7 making up the conclusion of the August 6 program that will see a feature only format. The very next night the ULMS Late Models head south to tackle the Monster Half mile oval of Pittsburgh PA Motor Speedway for the Red Miley Rumble which will pay $4212 along with the second Twin 28 from the July 24th program that will pay $2000 to win.

19th Annual Late Model Reunion Results:

SCOTT LEBARRON, Boom Briggs, Bump Hedman, Brent Rhebergen, Billy Marvin, Grant Adams, Jason Dupont, Jeremy Ohl, Dennis Lunger, Dereck Frank, Greg Oakes, Ike Fanton, Nick Loffredo, Paul Rooney, Ed Carley, Bob Close, Dave Norton Jr., Curt Tunilo, Ward Schell

The ULMS Late Models will heading east on I-86 and Rte 417 into Steuben County in New York state for the 19th annual Late Model Reunion at Woodhull Raceway in wonderful, Woodhull, New York on Saturday, August 14. The 358 dirt modified fans get their annual taste of the 2200# lightning on dirt super late models on the high bank 3/8 mile oval. The 30 lap event will pay $2000 to the winner and is expected to bring cars from central and eastern Pennsylvania along with the ULMS travelers. Bob Close has dominated this event over the years and with 2010 looking to be his last year of full-time competition; this may be one of his best opportunities to grab that first win of 2010. Boom Briggs has finished second to Close two of the past three years; he will no doubt be looking to improve on the high banks. It appears that two of the past winners of this event, Jeff Hoffman and Al Brewer will not be participating as Hoffman reportedly lost a motor at Little Valley earlier in the month and Brewer sold his late model over the winter and no ride seems apparent for this event at a track he raced at in the 70s and early 80s before the late model division was dropped.

A great following of dirt late model teams have jumped on the Northern Tier Inc ULMS Late Model Series wagon as Bump Hedman of Sugar Grove, Pennsylvania and Mike Knight of Ripley, New York are both expected to be on hand along with ULMS point leader, Dennis Lunger. Other ULMS entries expected to be on hand are Dereck Frank of Jamestown, NY, Greg Oakes of Franklinville, Brent Rhebergen of Clymer, “The Captain, Jason Dupont, Ed Carley are a few of the lighnting fast dirt late model entries that are expected on hand along with the stars of Clinton County Speedway.

Drivers are reminded that Raceivers are mandatory in 2010 in all ULMS Racing Series events. Raceivers will be on hand for rental at the ULMS trailer. The standard ULMS $20 entry fee will be in place for all ULMS competitors upon registering their cars at the ULMS registration table. Race fans will see the drivers draw for their heat race qualifying spots and race their way into the main event by virtue of their heat or consolation finishes. The top two finishers in the heats will participate in the Coors Light Redraw determining the top three or four rows for the main event. Fans are reminded they will want to come early as this event always packs the joint in the pits and in the grandstands as the car counts have increased the past few years with last year 28 late models being on hand.

Saturday August 7th, 2010 Busti, NY: The ULMS Super Late Models made their second appearance this year at Stateline Speedway in a 50 lap Memorial for Lynn Seamens and Darlene Roberts. Roberts Trucking and Seamens Auto Wrecking sponsored the event that paid $7,000 to the winner. Thirty-two Super Late Models were on hand, running three heats with the top three going to the redraw for their starting spot. Robbie Blair won the event in a Mike Knight backup car after a multi-lap duel with Dave Hess Jr..

Chad Valone won the redraw and started on the pole for the ULMS 50 lap memorial event. David Scott was off the pole, Dick Barton and Dave Hess Jr. were in row two and Rob Blair and Dutch Davies were in row three of the 31 car field. Valone led into turn one but Scott was in front out of turn two. Circuit number two saw Valone give way to Dave Hess Jr.. Robbie Blair moved by Valone on the next lap and the top three cars began to move away from the field. Scott was up on top with Hess trying to make the low side pass and Blair waiting for an opening. The race remained green with the leaders entering lap traffic nine laps into the event. Hess finally led a lap on lap twelve. The yellow flew for the first time with thirteen laps complete for Dennis Lunger stopped high in turns one. Hess, Scott, Blair, John Volpe and Dick Barton were the restart leaders. Blair took second from Scott on the restart and Volpe was all over Scott for third. Volpe lost a little ground and Barton quickly took advantage. Blair lead on lap twenty-two and Hess fought back to lead the next lap in heavy lap traffic. Valone stopped at the pit entrance nearly collecting Chad Ruhlman for the second yellow with twenty-five laps completed. Hess, Blair, Scott, Barton and Mike Knight made up the restart top five. Barton climbed up the speedway to challenge for third just before John Lobb and Scott Johnson tangled sending both cars spinning into the infield in the middle of the front stretch. Lobb pulled into the pits and Johnson required a wrecker to leave the speedway. Hess, Blair, Scott, Barton, and Knight were in front. Blair led lap twenty nine as Hess began to fade. Barton remained on top and Hess stayed low as they battled for the second spot. Blair slowly pulled way from the second place battle and one more entered lap traffic this time on lap thirty-nine. Ron Davies stopped in turn four for caution number four with nine laps remaining. Nathan Short and Dennis Lunger brought out the fifth caution on the restart. Blair, Hess, Barton, Knight and Scott were the leaders. Blair controlled the restart and Barton started to struggle and had to contend with Knight. Blair was in cruise control with a clear speedway and two laps to go. Knight was third. Blair took the checkers and Knight nearly nipped Hess for second.

The month of August normally means the end of summer is coming, but for the Northern Tier Inc ULMS Late Model Series it means the final two months of action will be hot with special money events! It all starts with a mini three day ULMS Speed week tour visiting three of the old Tri State Series tracks. ULMS will visit McKean County, Raceway 7 and Stateline Speedway Thursday, August 5th thru Saturday, August 7th with over $12,000 on the line.

Thursday, August 5th, the Northern Tier Inc. ULMS Late Models headed by current point leader, Dennis Lunger will roll into McKean County Raceway in E. Smethport, PA for the 6th annual Stephanie Eckl Memorial. This event will pay a $3000 to the winner with tenth and last place getting a minimum of $300 and $200 respectively to start. Greg Eckl has raised money over the years for this race in memory of his late daughter and has stated that all extra money he receives from donors will be added to the purse beginning in the rear of the payout. Past winners of this event have been Todd Andrews (three times), Rob Blair and Mike Knight won this event last year after the first and second place running cars of Chad Valone and Gregg Satterlee tangled on the final lap. This year’s event should be just as exciting.

The very next night, Friday, August 6th, the Northern Tier Inc. ULMS Late Models head west on I-86 and I-90 to Conneaut, Ohio for Raceway 7. The July 9th 40th Anniversary event was washed out by mother nature. On this night, the “Fallen Heroes of Raceway 7 Memorial” in part of the tracks 40th Anniversary season will be celebrated with the ULMS Late Models on hand. Dennis Lunger may have an upper hand on the competition as he is a weekly visitor to the track in the crate late model division. Other contenders will be three time defending ULMS champion, Bob Close, Bump Hedman, Boom Briggs, Dereck Frank, Brent Rhebergen and the “The Captain” Jason Dupont will be some of many drivers on hand for the $2000 to win, 30 lap event. David Scott picked up the win last year at Raceway 7; he no doubt will be on hand with the #3 Valona Ford.

The very next night the, biggest event of the year to date will take place at Stateline Speedway in Busty, NY. The Lynn Seaman’s – Donna Roberts Memorial will pay $7000 to the winner. This event will once again be an American Racer Tire only event, per agreement with Stateline Speedway management. So far the two ULMS shows at Stateline this year have been barn burners with very good field of entries on hand. David Scott and Mike Knight have picked up ULMS wins at the Busty oval. The weekly Stateline regulars will be tough to beat on their home track as John Lob, Doug Eck, Dick Barton, Chris Hackett, Dutch Davies in the George Lebaberra #26g, Scott Johnson, Chad Valone will all be tough to beat on their home track. The ULMS faithful of Lunger, Briggs, Hedman, Close, Frank will have their hands full with the toughest weekly competitors in the northeast. Rain date for this event is Saturday, August 21 if needed. The entry fee for this event will be $40.

The ULMS Late Models will then take seven days off before heading east on I-86 and Rte 417 into Steuben County in New York state for the 19th annual Late Model Reunion at Woodhull Raceway in wonderful, Woodhull, New York on Saturday, August 14.

The Northern Tier Inc ULMS Late Models will end the month of August at Pittsburgh PA Motor Speedway as they return to the MONSTER HALF MILE oval on Saturday, August 28. The night will begin with the second Twin 28 event of PENNational that was washed out on July 24. Mike Knight and Dennis Lunger find themselves on the front row for this $2000 event with Boom Briggs starting 4th. The rest of the program will be the Red Miley Rumble with a minimum of $4053 going to the winner of the race named after the Miley family patriarch. The PPMS regulars have been very tough at PPMS when the UFo and ULMS series meet up. The UFo stars of Chad McClelland, Johnny Mollick and Keith Barbara will no doubt be tough to beat along with the PPMS stars of Jared Miley, John Flinner, Mike Johnson, Lynn Geisler and Steve Baker. Maybe this night will be different with the ULMS stars being near the front of the conclusion of the PENNational.

For more information on all these events check http://www.unitedlatemodelseries.com/ out or visit each tracks website out at http://www.mckeancountyraceway.com/, http://www.raceway7.com/, http://www.stateline-speedway.com/, http://www.woodhullraceway.com/ and http://www.ppms.com/. All ULMS events mandate that Raceivers are needed and events at Raceway 7 and PPMS, transponders are mandatory by the track (can be rented at the track).

Saturday July 31st, 2010 Busti, NY: Applebee Motorsports sponsored the UEMS E-Mod Invasion at Stateline Speedway. Sixty-one E-Mods tried to qualify for one of the 26 starting spots in the main event through 6 heat races and 2 consolation races. A light rain started at 9:00 pm during the 2nd E-Mod Consolation race then stopped shortly after the race was complete. Dave Hess Jr. won the front row starting spot and held Rich Michael Jr. at bay for the entire 40 lap main event pocketing the $5,000 winner’s check.
Nathan Hill led from lap two of the E-Mod Non-Qualifiers Feature for his first win a Stateline.

By the luck of the draw Dave Hess Jr. and Ron Davies were on the front row of for the 40 lap $5,000 to win Applebee Motorsports E-Mod Invasion main event. Hess led the first circuit then Rich Michaels Jr. moved up alongside on lap two. Hess was up against the cushion and Michael was in the low groove. The first yellow appeared with five laps complete for Ron Seeley and Tim Peterson. The lap six restart saw the first four in single file with the remainder doubled up. Hess and Michael resumed their battle for the lead and Hall dropped into third. The yellow flew for the second time with nine down as Peterson had problems in turn one. The restart was just like the last with Hess high and in the lead followed by Michael, Hall, Kevin Morehouse and Chad Ruhlman. Ruhlman beat Morehouse out of turn two on lap fifteen for the top spot and two laps later was alongside Hess for third. Hess and Michael were nearly a quarter lap ahead. Just as the leaders entered lap traffic the third yellow happened, Justin Carlson had stopped in turn one. Carlson left the speedway as the track crew lined up the cars for the restart. Scott Gurdak retired during the lap 21 yellow. Ruhlman was solidly in third on the restart sending Hall back to fourth as Hess continued to dominate the race. Ron Davies moved into fifth with 14 laps remaining just before the fourth yellow as Kyle Bedell spun. Hess had a harder time staying in the lead after this restart as Michael stayed alongside for several laps. Peterson and Chris Couchenour tangled with 31 laps complete for yellow number five. Davies lost fifth to David Scott right after the restart. As the laps wound down Hess stayed up on top and Michael continued to press from the bottom. Bedell spun coming out of two immediately after the leaders took the two to go signal for yellow six setting the stage for a two lap dash for the win. Hess, Michael, Ruhlman, Scott and Hall were the leaders. Scott beat Ruhlman to the line finishing third as Hess won with Michael second.

Mike Eschrich led the first lap of E-Mod Non-Qualifiers feature then lost the handle on lap two causing the first yellow. A seven car pile up occurred on lap two for the second caution, Dustin Eckman was the leader with Nathan Hill second and Brian Douglas third. Hill led lap as Eckman settled into second with Douglas third and Butch Southwell third from his 14th starting spot. Debris caused the third yellow with six laps complete. Lap seven was completed then the yellow return as Kevin Buff slowed to a stop on the back stretch. The leaders slowed during the restart and three cars tangled trying to break for yellow five. Hill stayed in control and at the half way point led by half a straight away. Southwell passed Eckman for second then the sixth yellow occurred, Tony Marotto had spun in turn four. Southwell was able to close with Hill for the restart and eight laps remained. Southwell could not keep up with Hill on the restart allowing Hill to quickly rebuild his lead and John Boyd took third from Eckman. Hill made it look easy over the final laps winning by several car lengths over Southwell.
