			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Universal WorldEvents have been appointed as preferred supplier for venue finding services to Bayer in the UK. Bayer is a global enterprise with core competencies in the fields of health care, nutrition and high-tech materials.<span id="more-2481"></span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Following a thorough tender process earlier this year, and a follow up face-to-face presentation, Bayer awarded Universal WorldEvents preferred supplier status for all UK business from March 2012.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Louise Goalen, Venue Finding Manager commented: “We are thrilled to have been appointed as preferred supplier for venue finding for Bayer. This is no mean achievement given the competition we were up against and only goes to demonstrate our strength in the venue finding market. We have already received our first enquiries and are looking forward to providing Bayer with exceptional service for their venue requirements.”</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Andrew’s session will discuss best practice when expanding into new countries, and cover how to set up a new office abroad and build a new client base whilst maintaining brand consistency.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">As European Director, Andrew took responsibility for the strategic development of Universal WorldEvents European expansion, opening our first office in Amsterdam in January 2008, and subsequent offices in Munich, Lyon, Rome and Madrid, which he now oversees. With over twenty years experience of managing large pharmaceutical accounts and events in the healthcare sector as well as fourteen years on the Universal WorldEvents board, Andrew has a wealth of events industry experience.</p>

The ‘A List’ began as a quest to seek out the future leaders of the UK events industry and is now in its third year. We are pleased to announce that the Universal WorldEvents ‘A Lister’ for 2012 is Caroline Holmes, Account Director.<span id="more-2402"></span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Since joining the company in 2005 as an Account Coordinator, Caroline has enjoyed great career progression and was recently promoted to her current position. A key success for Caroline has been the development of her account team; her core team has grown from four to 24 employees over the last few years, and this has involved developing key relationships with multiple stakeholders across a range of global company divisions. Caroline’s experience and knowledge has been instrumental when working closely with procurement departments to successfully integrate working processes.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">In 2011 we managed more than 1,700 meetings and events – an increase from just over 1,100 in 2010. Total delegate numbers have also risen from 100,000 in 2010 to over 145,000 in 2011, with events taking place in 47 countries throughout the world.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Formed in March 2011 by the merger of leading healthcare specialist agencies UniversalProcon and WorldEvents; Universal WorldEvents is the largest full service global event management company specialising in serving the healthcare sector. With 35 years experience of delivering meetings and events, we have over 250 employees located in offices across the UK, the US, France, Germany, Spain, Italy and Hong Kong.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">We have been appointed as a consultant for <a href="http://merckserono.com" target="_blank">Merck Serono</a> in Switzerland to organise an event celebrating the 50th anniversary of one of their key brands in over 20 countries simultaneously. The event will be delivered by our <a href="http://www.universalworldevents.de/" target="_blank">German office</a> in summer 2012.</p>

<p>The webinar is designed to assist planners in the medical industry to understand the budget requirements of the various different types of medical meetings. Topics to be covered include: basic items budgets should have, how to estimate variances based on the type of program, what you need to do to ensure your budget aligns with corporate, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry guidances, common budget pitfalls and how to avoid them.</p>
