It's really disheartening that no one ever realizes how childish this is.  Here's my analogy:  Let's say my birthday is September 5th, and I'm pissed that everyone else with a

In the same way, they usually come in with an incomplete picture of you.  In religious circles,

I was among the few who weren't surprised by this turnout.  I've had a few back-and forths on Facebook about my participation in "Draw Muhammad Day" and "Make Muhammad your Facebook profile pic day"  and I don't think my point is really getting through to these people.  My latest response to one of their comments  ran a little long, so I  turned it into a blog.  Here is the comment:

I was raised by my Southern Baptist mother.  We attended Vera Full Gospel Fellowship, in Vera, OK.  Services there are presided over by Pastor Jim Rowe.  He's been like a member of our family since before I was born.  So even after I was no longer able to reconcile my religion with what I knew to be true, I still admire and respect him.
