Arlene Phillips may have been sacked from the judging panel of Strictly Come Dancing, but the 66 year old has landed a new job already. Arlene will join Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley on the panel of The One Show, as the show’s Strictly expert.

BBC confirmed today that Arlene would be replaced on Strictly by former winner Alesha Dixon and expert Darcey Bussell.

“Arlene played a vital role in making Strictly a hit and I would like to thank her for all her work on the show,” said BBC One controller Jay Hunt.

“I am delighted she is now forging a new relationship with BBC One by joining the highly-successful One Show team.”

Speaking about her move, Phillips said: “I am delighted to be part of The One Show. I will miss Strictly. It has been a big part of my life for six years.”

Big Brother housemate Karly Ashworth has told Sophie Reade that she thinks Marcus will be evicted this Friday.

Sophie worried that she would be the one to leave but Karly said:

“You’re not going to go,” insisted Karly.

“I dreamt last night I went,” replied Sophie. “I was outside and some girls were sticking their fingers up at me.”

“Why would girls vote you? For what? You haven’t done anything. Why do you think that?” replied Karly.

Sophie worried that people may find her two faced.

“You’ve got nothing to worry about,” insisted Karly.

“I really hope its Marcus, I really do,” stated Sophie. “I think he thinks it could be him you know.”

Karly replied: “It’s definitely gonna be him. It is 120 per cent gonna be him. Maybe I’m wrong, but I think it’s gonna be him.”

From Sunday 12th July, Big Brother will be commemorating its tenth anniversary with a week of celebrations and surprises featur ing the most talked-about tasks and most unforgettable housemates from the last nine years.

Each day, a memorable former housemate will challenge a current housemate at one of the most iconic tasks from the ten series of Big Brother. Viewers should also expect some further surprises during the live show on Friday 17th July .

Rumoured former housemates include BB1’s winner Craig, BB1’s Nasty Nick, BB2 winner Brian Dowling, BB8 winner Brian Belo, BB3 winner Kate, BB6’s Kinga, BB7’s Aisleyne, BB8’s Charley, BB9’s Luke and BB7’s Richard & Lea.

It has also been reported that four brand new housemates may also enter the house next week as part of the celebrations.

Former X Factor singer Diana Vickers has landed her first West End Role.

Diana will take the lead in West End show The Rise And Fall Of Little Voice.

The British Theatre Guide explains:

“The Rise And Fall Of Little Voice tells the story of a young girl, nicknamed Little Voice, who lives with her mother and hardly ever speaks, but has an amazing talent to imitate the singing voice of many of the great divas on her treasured records, left to her by her late father. However this is something she does privately for herself, and when one of her mother’s boyfriends sees the chance to make some money from her talent and forces her to sing in public, she is badly traumatised by the experience. Her only friend is a young lad, also very quiet, who came to fit the telephone at the start of the play and who also has a hidden secret – he is building a light show in the shed on his grandfather’s allotment.”

Stories are starting to emerge on acts we can expect to see in this years X Factor bootcamp. Yesterday we brought Yellow Brick Road to your attention and today The Sun has revealed that boy band New Beginning will be following the girls to the next stage of the show.

The Sun reports that Gary Treasure, Michael Cumberbatch, Jody Fenton and Gaza Gaza all auditioned alone, but when three were turned down by the judges they joined forces and re-aduitioned in Birmingham as boy band, New Beginnings.

A source revealed: “The lads all met each other in the queue at the first round of auditions.

“They got on really well and even had their picture taken together.

“A few girls pointed out that they looked great together as a group.

“So they made a pact that if they didn’t get through as solo singers they would form a band.”

Nikki Grahame is to return to the Big Brother house next week according to The Sun.

Big brother will celebrate its tenth birthday next week with party, games and activities and it is reported that Nikki will be back to join in the fun.

If rumours are to be believed then each day another former housemate will enter the BB house and perform a task with the current team.

In a bid to revive falling viewing figures, Big brother bosses are reportedly introducing four new BB housemates to the house next week.

According to The Daily Star, the housemates will enter July 17th, as part of Big Brother’s week of birthday celebrations.

One of the newbies may be an ex-girlfriend of Kris Donnellys, though I guess this depends on whether or not he survives this week’s eviction.

Here’s hoping that the group includes at least one fanciable male, we really could do with some eye candy in the house!

Glamour Model Sophie Reade has nominated fellow Big brother housemate Marcus Akin for eviction. Her reason for choosing Marcus was that she is fed up listening to him talking about pleasuring himself.

Sophie told Big Brother: “My second nomination is going to be for Marcus because he’s just like really perverted.”

She added: “He’s always talking about going for a w***. I’m not even interested. He’s all talk and no action that man. Not that I want to see him having a w***. It’s just vile.”

Big Brother has set a circus style shopping task for housemates this week.

There will be five activities that need to be completed in order to win the luxury shopping budget.

Lisa and Rodrigo have to master a ’seductive’ fan dance, Freddie will be the knife thrower using water bombs instead of knives, whilst Sophie will be his target.

Kris and Karly have to walk a tightrope which goes across the centre of the garden, Noirin, Siavash and Marcus have to walk ten miles a day, while Charlie has to show great balance and ride a unicycle.

Paula Abdul has revealed that she has been asked to stay on as a judge on American Idol and is currently renegotiating her contract.

Abdul told the AP: “I’ve been invited to stay the duration of the show, however long it lasts.

“It’s been an interesting journey. It’s something that I always would want to be a part of.”

She added: “[It's a] dysfunctional family of sorts. I’m the nurturing mom, Simon’s the disapproving dad, and Randy’s the cool brother.”
