Your role and the requirements
As someone with sufficient academic background in your discipline(s) you will be asked on a project by project basis to translate and/or edit text. The text could take the form of a technical report or manual, an academic thesis or a legal contract, depending on the nature of your discipline(s). You will then be paid a commission rate rate, as set by you. In order to qualify you must be proficient in English and/or German. You must also have an interest and agility in working with language and words, and a desire to fund your education or research while working with text in your discipline(s), thereby broadening your knowledge and experience.

The facilitator and marketer of your skills
Textwings is the facilitator of the website environment where it will market your skills and experience in your discipline(s) without cost. Membership is free and in return for a small commission Textwings receives from the client on completed transactions, Textwings manages and guides every stage of the process to the highest professional standards. � Mentors come from a variety of backgrounds and skill levels. Because of the needs of the people we serve, experience as a caregiver, mental health worker, RN, or CNA are a plus � but not required.
� California Mentor also provides an in depth training to prepare people to become Mentor Providers.

What Kind of Support Would I get as a Mentor Provider?

� Each home is assigned a Mentor coordinator who provides case management services. The MENTOR coordinator ensures that the individual�s needs are being met in the home and that their plan of care is being followed. They will visit the individual and the mentor in the home weekly or biweekly and complete yearly service plans, quarterly reports, and incident reports. They are professionals responsible for overseeing the day-to-day success of the consumer’s placement.
� There is also an after hours coordinator on call 24/7 to respond to any urgent matters that arise outside of office hours.

What do I Have to Do To Become a Mentor & How Long Does it Take?

� The first step is to attend a 2 hour orientation session at our office.
� After you attend orientation, you will begin the process of going through the required trainings, a home study, background check, and interviews.
� The process to become a Mentor is usually determined by how motivated a person is to complete the process and get all the needed documentation turned into our agency. Most Mentors complete the process in 4 � 8 weeks.
