Denim shorts are everywhere and a favorite summer wardrobe staple. But for people living in a tropical country like the Philippines, this is essential in every girl’s closet. Denim shorts are truly a versatile summer wardrobe item, easy to pull off, effortless and you can by far think of endless style ideas.

I somehow wanted to enjoy the creative styling and find some cool and different looks to achieve a chic-charm of denim shorts. I've created 5 outfit ideas for you to rock a denim shorts…

Guardians of the Galaxy is a 2014 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics superhero team of the same name, produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.

Light years from Earth, 26 years after being abducted, Peter Quill finds himself the prime target of a manhunt after discovering an orb wanted by Ronan the Accuser. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits-Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the dangerous assassin Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer.

Here are some of my fave characters in the movie and I've made 4 outfit ideas inspired by them:

Nebula was played by Karen Gillan who is an adopted daughter of Thanos who was raised with Gamora as siblings and is a loyal lieutenant in Ronan and Thanos’ employ. She's sadistic and an evil character in GOTG but I love her though.

I just love Nebula so I've created two different outfits, for day and night time.

In day time, I've selected a lace sweetheart purple dress. I love it because I think it's very dainty, sweet , girly and pretty. An ankle strap purple satin ballet flat with studs is my choice for this elegant dress and paired with apricot quilted body bag from ASOS. To finish up the look, a simple yet classy pearl studded headband from forever 21 and straight black short hair like Krysten Ritter's definitely very chic. This look is perfect if you're going to meet up with your friends or going out on a first date with your boyfriend.

Nebula Day time outfit details:

At night time, This dress from Fuzzi is the type of dress I would love to wear over and over again. It's a kaleidoscopic-print tulle dress, boat neckline, sheer three-quarter sleeves, sheath silhouette. It covers the knees and has a pullover style.
Mary Jane heels in Purple is my choice for the dress with cheetah print on it, it complements on the print of the dress. Some purple coat to keep you warm in a cool night breeze. A tough gold studded spike knuckle clutch in gunmetal is so trendy and so rocker-chic. To soften the look, I choose a simple up-do hairstyle.

Gamora is an orphan from an alien world who was trained by Thanos to be his personal assassin and seeks redemption from her past crimes. The character was played by Zoe Saldana. Gamora is a lethal and enigmatic assassin but a righteous individual.

A lightweight leather leggings with a second skin feel is my choice for the "Gamora" outfit. It's a soft, stretch leather made of 100% lambskin. A motorcycle jacket inspires this Alexander McQueen bootie's notched collar and zipper. Vibrant painted snakeskin electrifies the design.

Add some sparkle to your wardrobe with this green beaded top from Collection by Debenhams. The bead embellishments and elaborate dual neckline make this top perfect for the party season. A great evening top. Navy blue calf hair shoulder flap bag is perfect for this look. To wrap up the Gamora Outfit, sport a bad-ass hairstyle [Black-Red Ombre] and some stainless dangling earrings and spike ring.

Rocket racoon is a genetically engineered raccoon who is a bounty hunter and mercenary and is a master of weapons and battle tactics. Rocket is not a cartoon character of the movie but a very dynamic and funny character in GOTG.

While I think of Rocket racoon's look, I couldn't help but incorporate my favorite style - The bohemian-chic. I imagined the clear water, white beach sand and blue sky. The embroidered tank top, is great for this scene with some twisted tassels, brown booties, brown faux leather jacket to top it off. A combination of edgy and great transformation in bohemain style, I choose leather pants from Helmut Lang and to put some color to the outfit, Burguny leather bucket bag is an excellent choice. Polish off the look with Boho chic black feather earrings.

Hello there, Lovelies! I'm back for a new review and it's all about broad spectrum protection.
Let me introduce to you Hamilton SuperBlock Broad Spectrum Sunscreen Milk SPF 80.

These are the product details:

No unpleasant or strong smell

Four hours of water/sweat resistance

Recommended by Dermatologist

Everyone needs a sunblock cream/lotion with high SPF that gives protection from harmful UV rays UV-A, UV-B and UV-C. Sunblock is necessary for us to avoid dark pigmentation of the face such as Melasma, Freckles, Sunspots, uneven skin tone, even to avoid early skin aging and wrinkles.

The Hamilton SuperBlock sunscreen is gentle to the skin because it's milk based formula that suits for all skin types. I've decided to make a review regarding this wonderful sunscreen since I've been using it for 6 Months now, NO breakouts or whatsoever. I bought it from a dermatologist near in my area for Php350 or $US8.

This sunscreen is very light, absorbs the skin fast, has very high SPF which is very important, gives smooth finish feel when applied and non-greasy. This also can be use as treatment to acne scars.

How to use:

Apply liberally and evenly on the unprotected areas of the skin 30 minutes before sun exposure especially between 10 AM to 3PM. Daily application of a sunscreen is recommended as part of a healthy skin regimen.

4-methylbenzylidene camphor - Is an organic camphor derivative that is used in the cosmetic industry for its ability to protect the skin against UV, specifically UVB radiation.

butyl methoxydibenzoylmethane - It is used as a UVA absorber in sunscreen products. It has been safely and extensively used in cosmetics and sunscreens for decades.

titanium dioxide - Used as a pigment, sunscreen and a thickener. This pigment is used extensively in plastics and other applications not only as a white pigment or an opacifier but also for its UV resistant properties where the powder disperses the light – unlike organic UV absorbers – and reduces UV damage, due mostly to the extremely high refractive index of the particles.

Avobenzone - Is an oil soluble ingredient used in sunscreen products to absorb the full spectrum of UVA rays. Its ability to absorb ultraviolet light over a wider range of wavelengths than many other sunscreen agents has led to its use in many commercial preparations marketed as "broad spectrum" sunscreens.

Octinoxate - or Octyl methoxycinnamate. Absorb UV-B rays from the sun, protecting the skin from damage. It is also used to reduce the appearance of scars.Often used as an active ingredient in sunscreens combined with oxybenzone and titanium oxide.

Am I too old to wear this? Have you asked yourself this question today? I received a message on Facebook from a loyal reader of my blog asking about age appropriate style. The message sender is 25 and young professional. Here's her message.

Last week I past by to a group of girls at the mall, approximately 13-15 years old and I've noticed some of them are wearing the same skirt & bag I bought last month. It's not about the same stuff but it occurred to me that I perhaps shouldn't share clothing style with someone half of my age. During off days, I use to wear cap, cropped shirt and denim shorts. Are there things that people of certain ages shouldn't wear? Do you think there's such a thing as dressing too young or too old for your age? I want to get your opinion on this issue.Thanks! My dear first of all thank you for your constant support, sending a message and for great questions. I'm 28 , married but a lot of people say I don't look my age and often ask if I'm a college student. That's a nice compliment but I guess that's probably more to do with my face and I think yeah I don't look my age and never feel old. I also wear the same clothes as youngsters and I strongly believe it's how you wear it in a way that you like, you're comfortable with and suits you well, that makes it appropriate for however old you are or feel. Also you will develop your own style as you grow older. I honestly wear more fun clothes today than I did when I was in my teens but I'm far more comfortable with myself right now and I never want to be restricted by my age when it comes to what I wear. My opinion is nowadays youth love experimenting and sometimes push things to extremes in a way you don't as you grow to understand what suits you and what you really like. Just because you like the same bag or share love for the same print of skirt(they're 13-15 & you're 25) doesn't make it age inappropriate. Everyone should wear whatever makes them happy and be comfortable in it. Those are my honest opinion. I hope you got the answers to all of your questions. For some people, animal print is too wild and bold but there are so many ways to wear animal print. If you're wearing an animal print skirt, you can tone it down by wearing a single colored top and a nude shade of footwear. Another way of toning down a big animal print is by wearing accessories like scarf or bag that draw attention to it but make sure it will complement or blends well with your wild print.

Here, I opted to pair my black-grayish leopard blouse [it has spikes in the collar- so cool!] with an orange shorts with subtly embossed/printed patterns. [I normally want to go for a printed and texture combination.] I did this styling for a fun, young and new way to wear the wild print. Not everyone like this idea but I believe this is a great mode giving a fresh and youthful feeling. I also picked a wedge sandals in neutral color.

Simple accessories like these gold rosette studs and colorful bracelet completed my look.

There are many shades to choose from, you just have to be certain which one best suits you. I really love this style idea and remember the key here is to go for a single vibrant color.

When I started this blog, the majority of my posts are not about fashion or styling tips. At first, my blog is intended for my vacation trips, some parts of my daily life and random rants. But I've decided last August 2013 to include fashion/outfit styling ideas. In this case, I get to document my style and look back to see how my style improve trough the years.

There are so many good things about writing especially about fashion. I must say that it's an outlet for creativity and an opportunity to share cool ideas or advice with a bigger audience which has also connected me to a lot of amazing people all over the world.

Once in a while I get an email telling me that my blog posts are nice and sometimes readers appreciate my writings. It's a nice feeling when other people appreciate what you do and those appreciation became an inspiration for me to do better.

Stephanie emailed me this great question yesterday, "I will go to college next school year and I still can't figure out my style or how to dress nicely because I'm chubby. I live in jeans and t-shirts, I'm afraid dresses or shorts will not look great on me. I really adore dresses but lacking some confidence. Please give some advice on how to look good and dress myself. Thanks!" -Stephanie

Here's my answer, Stephanie, I totally understand you and honestly during my college days; I also live in jeans, shirts and rubber shoes. I wore these type of clothes for 4 years, I seldom buy new one because I'm on a tight budget and the money I have is only for transportation and food allowances. Some people laugh at me and saying that I'm "baduy". [Baduy is a Filipino slang meaning unfashionable, conservative, poor taste] There's nothing wrong with these type of clothing, it's actually very comfortable to wear. It's just that, during those years when I'm still studying, I can't have a good pair of sandals, can't have nice shorts and skirt or dresses. Buying these stuff is not my priority and I DON'T CARE whether they call me "baduy". I know myself better than anyone else, I can be a regular lady in jeans+shirt or a gorgeous elegant lady that you can imagine. I have this attitude like Coco Chanel: “I don't care what you think about me. I don't think about you at all.”

It's just a matter of purpose, motivation, self-confidence and finding your style. Some people that like fashion don't make an effort because it can take time, not a "great day" or simply not practical. You should give purpose to your fashion. Whether you're going to the mall or just working at home, say to yourself that "Today, I want to look pretty and go to my favorite coffee shop and do my work there." Anything can be your motivation that will bring you to dress better.

If you're a regular chick that likes to wear jeans and shirt , it's okay. No one is forcing you to wear and walk in heels but if you're the type of lady who wants to try different styles then this is the time to experiment. Fashion is actually an excellent way to figure yourself out what looks good on you and what's not. Dressing well gives you self-confidence. When you look at yourself in the mirror and think you look awesome, you'll feel good all day.

A well-dressed woman looks put together. People will like you if you have a great personality but with combined great style, they will not forget you. You're not dressing up because you want to stand out from the crowd or to get noticed. What you want is to make a good impression and draw the "right" kind of attention.

If you walk with your head up, have an attitude in carrying your style, have some confidence, purpose and motivation then this mean you'll have a GREAT STYLE.

I've spotted my floral print flowy dress and some cool high socks and voila! It's perfect for my sweet-eclectic bohemian babe look.

Anyway, let's proceed to my outfit post for today.

Let's talk about midriff tops, what's the first thing comes to your mind when you hear 'midriff top'? Mine would be - a little too revealing because it shows off some of the abdomen. Some are comfortable showing skin and some are more comfortable with just a peek-a-boo of skin.

You may pair it with a skirt with adjustable belt wherein you have the freedom to adjust according to how much skin you're showing.

Pair it with a high-waisted shorts or pants. This is perfect because you'll feel very comfortable and it gives you the cover you want.

It's always hot and humid in Singapore, so wearing light clothing is a must. I've decided to wear my little sunshine bandage midriff top with printed shorts. The shorts I'm wearing is not high-waisted though. But I have a cardigan ready with me. :)

Always bring a jacket, cardigan or blazer when wearing a midriff top for an extra cover.

I am wearing PINK! Yay! This color provides femininity, nurture, warmth and sensitivity. Pink symbolizes love, romance and empathy. It is softer than the passion that red brings replacing it with a gentle loving energy. Pink also has a calming effect which reassures emotional power, alleviating feelings of anger, fear and abandonment.

I feel really pretty in my rose pink blouse and candy color shorts. I don't wear pink clothes that much because it's too girly, but I love this outfit. I feel comfortable and confident. The atmosphere and my mood suddenly changed and I believe I felt the innocence and intense sweetness inside me.

The printed skirt fit so well to my hips and you may not notice it but I love its colorful "City" print. I also love how it made to be high waisted because it draw attention to my little waist. The red blouse has cut outs at the back which looks pretty sexy. I want to walk all day so I've decided to wear flats. (You know couples, Holding hands while walking ^_^ ) My Love bag is so cool, the stitches are in hearts shape - perfect for V-day!

Today, I feel a little sporty but I still want to look feminine and cool.

The hounds tooth pattern of black and white is popular in tweed materials used for sports coats, casual hats and caps. I often see detective hat in hounds tooth pattern in Sherlock Holmes [fan of the movie as well as the TV series]

A neon yellow floral organza blouse with crystal mirror beads and semi-precious stones pair off with woolen fabric hounds tooth print shorts and running shoes. To break the boredom, I opt for pink socks with Aztec print instead of black or grey socks. Minimalist accessories - Sunglasses, teal sling bag and Hoop earrings.

Hi everyone! How's your day so far? I hope everything is okay.

I always have an eye in skirts especially with pleats. Nowadays, skirts are colorful, have different textures and its length (Mini, Midi, Long) adds more character into them. It's very youthful, luxurious, sassy, and funky. My outfit is all about the details (sequins, beading etc. , Neutrals + splash of color+ Leopard print pumps) Channeling a bohemian-chic style in a modern way.

Happiness is an attitude. We either make ourselves miserable, or happy and strong.

My peach-brown coloured skirt seems very romantic, chic and casual. It has a beautiful butterfly-appliquéd embossed design. It's very light, free-flowing and not stiff which is an important factor for pleated skirts. It's very old which my Mom gave me 8 years ago but still in good condition and looks new. No falling sequins or beads.

I want a pop of color and opt for a fuchsia pink crochet blouse with wooden beaded collar neck design. It's earthy, relaxed and modern boho-chic. I finish off my look with my leopard pumps, capiz shell earrings and some wooden bangles.

La fleur: A white chiffon blouse with pretty pattern of faceted stones at the collar makes it an unexpected piece that you can wear with anything. My fave skinny jeans, ultra feminine light pink denim jeans. To give my outfit an extra boost, I added a floral blazer and finish off with black cage pumps. Very simple look yet chic.
