I’m not sure why but it seems like alot of my readers are signing up for PayPerPost, but after signing up, are either not writing their first post or aren’t getting approved for their first post.

I currently have 21 PayPerPost referrals still pending their first post. At $15 per referral, that would be a nice $315 extra in my pocket.

Don’t get me wrong. PayPerPost does actually pay me for referrals, but I just cannot believe that since April 12 to current I have 21 people who have actually signed up, yet didn’t bother writing their first post. PayPerPost pays you $20 for your first post just to advertise themselves. It’s 200 words for $20. Easy.

When I started using it in April, I had a PR of 0 and my Alexa ranking was in the millions, but I still managed to make about $300 in posts alone. On another blog I run, I use payperpost religiously and usually pull $250-$600/month from them.

So why are they not writing their first post? You tell me. I know there are literally thousands of people who have tried or are currently using PayPerPost and I’d sure like to hear your stories (Good or bad) about using it.

As you can tell, my blogging has been non-existent lately. With my last post, I wrote that my girlfriend of 5 years left me for another man. (Men since then). I kind of lost myself during this time and didn’t know how to start the healing. I turned to poetry.

Poetry allowed me to express to myself and others what I was feeling. Something I couldn’t do regularly. It’s amazing that after only 1 month of losing the love of my life, I’m back up on the horse and riding again.

I’ve found a wonderful woman who has been going through what I have been going through. We have been able to help each other through the healing process. I feel the struggle is over.

I’d like to share the poems I’ve written. I know most people don’t like poetry, but I think it is impressive the way you can actually see my healing process as it unfolds.

The first poem was written the day after she left me. It hadn’t really sunk in that she was truly leaving me. I knew it mentally, but didn’t feel it physically. It’s called “I Just Wish”

Broken, Alone, Numb and Cold,
It’s killing me what I’ve been told.

You stare at me all cold and annoyed,
5 years together - null and void.

I guess our love never existed.
The feelings I felt was skewed and twisted.

Years of love washed down the drain
replaced with sorrow, tears and pain.

I guess you’re happy. You’re moving on.
All you want is for me to be gone.

Well you’ve got your wish now, there you go.
I’m scared, heart broken and all alone.

I can’t find the strength to carry on.
I just want to give up now that your gone.

I just wish…

The next poem was written about a week later as depression was bearing its grips on me and the fact that I lost Lyndsey had really sunk in. It hit me hard. I called it “I’d Die For a Tear”

If I died tomorrow,
would you shed a tear?

Would you remember the times
we’ve had through the years?

The time we thought our love was forever?
The times we cried and laughed together…

Would you remember the times our relationship was strong?
Or the times we argued though we were both wrong?

That one single tear would show me such love
And I’d cherish that tear as I watch from above.

As you stand over my body, would you show any sorrow?
For that one single tear, I’d die tomorrow.

You can actually feel the depression in that one. I just didn’t want to live anymore.

Somehow on a completely random series of events, I ran into a friend that just happened to be in the right place at the right time. We talked and she let me know she was going through the same thing as I was. We decided to go out a week later to help cheer each other up. Something changed that night. It changed for the better. This next poem, I call “You Broke My Fall”

Falling down a deep dark hole,
That is where I’ve been.

A gentle soul breaks my fall,
That is where I am.

Climbing back out of this hole,
Is where I want to be.

When I make it to the top,
It’s you I’d like to see.

Even as short as that one is, It packs a punch as far as telling her my feelings.

We hit it off that night, and have had several more dates since then. I guess you can say we’re ‘exclusive’ now and are both truly happy and no longer struggling about the past. I now give you my best work yet. It’s called “Let’s Dream Forever”

Such a beautiful beginning at a rocky time,
The day I was yours, and you were mine.

Our souls met in the middle of the night,
But we waited until the time was right.

A single rose lie in front of your door,
While on your bed, there lie two more.

Looking into my eyes, you took a chance.
You kissed my soul and made it dance.

A perfect night with a wonderful girl,
A feeling so strong it changed my world.

Who would have thought we’d end up together?
If this is a dream, let’s dream forever.

One second while I go back up and read it again…..

Ok I’m back. It may just be me but I really think it’s neat how you can see and feel the healing process through just a few words. I’m really liking this poetry stuff and I think I’m going to keep it around me for a while.

If you’re ever in a dark place and don’t know how to get out, maybe you should consider writing it on paper. It doesn’t really have to be a poem, you could just write a story. Maybe a story that only you will read, maybe you’ll share it. Who knows. Just try it sometime, you may like it.

Well, my loving girlfriend of 5 years decided to leave me today. Up until just a little bit ago I thought our life was perfect. It turns out her life was perfect somewhere else.

A million thoughts go through my mind right now as I write this. I feel like making harm to myself, harm to her, harm to …. him… but I’m hoping I’m better than that.

I haven’t been single for over 15 years as I went from a 10 year relationship right into a 5 year relationship. I’ve been out of the dating scene so long I don’t even know how to pick up girls anymore.

Living in a small town of about 6,000 people, everyone who is my friend is also her friend. So if you’re a believer in the “Friends’ ex” rule, it really takes any opportunity of finding anyone in my town out of the equation.

I tell you, its scary. What if I do find someone new and my ex wants me back. I love her so much that I would take her back in a newyork minute, but I know I’d just regret it. Why does life have to be like this?

Why can’t we be just like dogs. Go around find a girl in heat, do the deed and then just go chasing cars. Life would be so much easier.

Sorry for such a crappy post, but I have to vent and I didn’t want to drag any of our friends into this.

I have been too busy to run most of my websites these days so I’ve decided to sell 2 of them that are in need of attention but have plenty of opportunity to be worth something.

The first one is my webhosting website FavHost.com. I’ve already sold my customers and I haven’t been advertising it at all for at least 6 months. What I will sell you is the domain, and if you like you can have the website which I personally designed from scratch.

Favhost is listed in search engines and also on alot of webhost review sites. I just haven’t been updating anything on it for some time now. As a bonus, you’ll also get your first customer - Me. Assuming you stay with the same service I have been using since it has a 6 month average of 99.96% uptime and only costs $16.99 to run the service. I will agree to pay you $3.99 for a monthly service to keep unTECHy alive (if you keep the server I currently use). That only leaves you $13.00 worth of sales to break even each month.

Before I let FavHost go, I was averaging about $63/month with just a handful of customers. I’d suggest you look into becoming hosting provider before you just jump into this one.

My second website that I’d like to offer is DaggerDepot.com. I really have neglected this one and the website itself is severely lacking any kind of SEO. however, I have owned this domain for many years and it is also listed in major search engines. Once again, You will get the domain and I’m willing to give up the website should you want it even though it is pretty much outdated and worthless.

Anyone with offers, please contact me via the comments and I will get back to you. Do not leave offers in the comments please.

According to MSNBC.com there are now over 10 MILLION people in this world with over a million dollars in assets. That means there are 10 million millionaires.

As I sit here in my little 2 bedroom home worrying about what bills are going to be due on Friday and if I’m going to be able to pay them all, there are millions of people in this world who live in luxurious homes driving their luxury sport cars eating at 5 star restaurants. (OK maybe not all of them live like this, but they could).

In other parts of the world there are children and families who may not get to eat today or might get kidnapped/raped/or massacred in the night by militants or other Rambo wannabes.

So the question is; Why can’t money save the world?

Imagine if every millionaire in the world decided to give $1,000 per year to a specific cause. A simple $1000 per year would create a $10 billion annual donation to create a better world for everyone. What could $10 billion do annually? (more…)

During a recent thunderstorm, I lost my faithful Toshiba Satellite laptop from water damage. Not wanting to be without a travel buddy, I went to Dell.com and ordered me a new Dell Inspiron 1525. The laptop is great but that isn’t what this post is about.

When ordering the laptop, I had shipping options ranging from $20 (2-3 shipping) to $99 (overnight). I’m too frugal for overnight delivery so I chose the 2-3 day $20 option. After I made the purchase, the expected delivery date was 33 days from the date of purchase. 33 days!? Could you imagine if I would have selected the $99 delivery option? It would have been $99 to get it bumped up to 31 days instead of 33. Think about that for a moment….and then forget it because that is not what this post is about.

What this post IS about, is the first experience I’ve had with DHL. And let me tell you, DHL beats UPS any day of the week.

On Friday, I was going home for lunch and happened to pass the DHL delivery van going the other way. I didn’t think the laptop would be there yet so I continued my 3 block drive home. (Ya I’m also lazy). Near the end of my lunch hour, DHL showed back up to deliver the laptop. This was pretty cool in my book but I was about to find out just how devoted DHL is to making the delivery.

When I had passed the van they were headed to my workplace to make their daily deliveries. While he was there he just happened to ask if anyone knew where I worked ( live and work in a town of about 7000 people). Co-workers of mine stated that I worked there but went home for lunch. Thats when the DHL driver decided to attempt a re-delivery at my home.

I’ve had literally hundreds of deliveries to my house via UPS and not once has the driver EVER attempted to redeliver my packages. If I’m not home, it is my responsibility to go get my package when it is convenient for UPS.

I don’t know who the actual delivery man was for DHL, but if you’re reading this I am sincerely greatful for the extra mile you went to deliver my package to me.

Ever wonder why?

Google’s Adsense code targets information that is between <!– google_ad_section_start –> and <!– google_ad_section_end –> tags on your website. The trouble is, none of the Wordpress plugins add these tags to your content. Without targeted ads, you most likely are losing a lot of potential revenue and possible confusing your readers.

I have seen unrelated ads in hundreds of websites I’ve stumbled upon and they are all due to untargeted Adsense. Here is a very easy fix I’ve come up with that should only take about 5 minutes to complete. (more…)

Every now and again, I receive a funny email that is simply worth sharing. I say “Every now and again” because although there are always funny emails in my inbox, some are just exceptionally funny. Over the weekend, my sister-in-law sent me an email titled “Dear Abby.”

Knowing my sister-in-law (and the “share this with everyone” religious emails she always sends) I was reluctant to open this and read it. However, I’m glad I did. It is simply hilarious. All I can say is it is worth the read no matter if you are a man or woman.

Dear Abby,
I’ve never written to you before, but I really need your advice on what could be a crucial decision. I’ve suspected for some time now that my wife has been cheating on me.
The usual signs… phone rings but if I answer, the caller hangs up. My wife has been going out with the girls a lot recently although when I ask their names she always says, “Just some friends from work, you don’t know them.”
I always stay awake to look out for her taxi coming home, but she always walks down the drive. Although I can hear a car driving off, as if she has gotten out of the car round the corner. Why? Maybe she wasn’t in a taxi? I once picked her cell phone up just to see what time it was and she went berserk and screamed that I should never touch her phone again and why was I checking up on her.
Anyway, I have never approached the subject with my wife. I think deep down I just didn’t want to know the truth, but last night she went out again and I decided to really check on her.
I decided I was going to park my Harley Davidson motorcycle next to the garage and then hide behind it so I could get a good view of the whole street when she came home. It was at that moment, crouching behind my Harley, that I noticed that the valve covers on my engine seemed to be leaking a little oil.
Is this something I can fix myself or should I take it back to the dealer?
Thanks,
Bob

I’ve made it no secret that I’m a member of PayPerPost. With a pagerank of 0, I made nearly $300 in my first month. I’m definitely going to keep this one. If I can make that much with no pagerank, just think of what I can make now that Google upgraded my rank to PR3.

Recently, the owners of PayPerPost (IZEA) started a new service called SocialSpark. It basically takes the original PayPerPost business model, throws in a Myspace twist. You can communicate with other posties and advertisers. There is also a blog and forum for you to better communicate with everyone.

For now, I’m able to continue using PayPerPost on a daily basis. I am also using Social Spark on a daily basis which is nearly doubling my monthly profit. Both PayPerPost and Social Spark give opportunities based on your RealRank, PageRank, and Alexa ranking for your blog.

As you work on improving these 3 ranks, the quantity of your opportunities and price of your posts increase.

A unique feature of Social Spark is the “BlogUBack” offers. Basically, you review their site and in return they review your site. I think this is truly a remarkable feature and I’m glad IZEA threw it in there. Instead of paying hundreds of dollars for reviews, you simply look for opportunities with the BlogUBack offer and reserve the opportunity.

There is also quite a difference in the way you are paid in Social Spark VS. PayPerPost. With PPP, you are paid 30 days after your post is approved. I basically receive payments nearly everyday from PPP for each post I’ve had approved.

With social spark there is still the same 30 day waiting period, but instead of sending the small payment to Paypal, it is stored in your account until you ‘cash out’. This way you can keep building your payments and cash out when you are ready. There is a small downfall however - There is a $20 minimum cashout in Social Spark whereas PPP had none.

I believe IZEA is on to something good with Social Spark, but there is always room for improvement. Some believe that the payment policy needs changed, some like it. The one thing I wish they would implement is some sort of referral bonus when you refer new members. PayPerPost pays $15 per referral, Social Spark…Nothing. I also love the fact that they stand behind their code of ethics which are:

-100% Audit-able In-Post Disclosure
-100% Transparency
-100% Real Opinions
-100% Search Engine Friendly

All in All, I have to say I’m very happy with Social Spark and I can’t wait to see how this service pans out in the future.
