This is your girl Until coming to you with "Until's Book of the Week". This book is a book to welcome since this author hasn't written a book in a decade. Who am I talking about? The sensual, beautiful and unafraid, Sonia Sanchez.

She's back with her latest book entitled "Morning Haiku".

For those who are not familiar with what a Haiku is; it is a Japanese way of writing a poem which is written in 17 syllables divided into 3 lines of 5, 7, 5. I love Haiku's, which is why I had to go get this book. Here is a small example:

This is Until coming to you with the latest book of the week. The book that I am about to share with you is a book that I think people should take an interest in reading regardless of gender. I plan on reading this book myself.

This book is about one woman's triumph over sexual assault in the military.

To my understanding this book has gotten rave reviews. I hear it's emotionally wrenching, that it reads like a good mystery novel but it's all true. Sunset and Gumbo - Recruits for a new segment!

If you remember Spoken-word Poet "Until" being on the Sunset and Gumbo Show, March 9th, then that means you really enjoyed it! Well, it turns out the show wasn't just enjoyable for the listeners but also for the staff and Until; so much that when Sunset and Gumbo began looking into adding a couple of new elements to revamp and enhance the show, they recruited none other than, "Until." Although not knowing her very long, they felt she could be a great asset to the show. They would just have to brainstorm and come up with a wonderful idea that could compliment their theme; and they did!

Now, you can catch "Until" on the radio every other week for "Until's Book of the Week". That's right you heard me correctly, "Until's Book of the Week." When Until was asked how she would select her books, she said,

" I have a variety of friends who have all started on the road of self publishing and they have very good books. So, I will use this opportunity to give spotlight to those that chose that route, and could use the advertisement. However I will select at times, mainstream books as well. But my overall plan is to select books that are helpful, entertaining, inspiring, informative, and so on. I just want inform people of great authors on the rise. Be it that the Sunset and Gumbo Show is dedicated to independent artists, authors and other creative genre’s, I see this as a great platform to utilize and I’m proud to be a part of this."

In fact, Until’s first book of the week "Shades of Retribution" by Chandra Adams, was first aired Wednesday, April 14th and to her surprise she received great feedback from the staff of Sunset and Gumbo, listeners from the show, and the author herself, Chandra Adams.

Although this is just a trial run, Until says, she hopes that her segment on the show will be on long enough to make an impact, create a buzz and be made permanent. But I guess we'll just have to see.
