I found a great post for the dreaded MAC etherenet address is FFFFFFFF.  It's from our fellow blogger: Stephen Blair.

Just before the Christmas break, I had a case where LMTOOLS reported FFFFFFFF as the Ethernet address, even though ipconfig /all showed a valid Physical address for the network adapater. Because of this, the license server wouldn’t start.

FFFFFFFF (eight F’s) is the broadcast address.

When attempting to create a deployment for Simulatin CFD 2013, you wil get the following error:

NOTE:  The 'msi' folder does not exist and you can still install the software using the Install on this Computer option.

Please download the following script [ SimCFD2013_Deployment.zip]:

1. Setup a host machine which has a shared folder of the installation kit. 
2. Edit the batch file to point to Setup.exe on the shared folder, network settings, serial number, etc 
3. Execute batch script on client machine --> Installs 3rdParty, Fusion, and SimCFD2013 silently with progress bar.

Personally, Windows 7 has been a great experience compared to Windows Vista, here is an interesting issue/Technical Solution TS14898448  that I would like to share with the community:

During the final stage of uninstalling an Autodesk product in Windows 7, you were presented with a warning dialog that Windows Explorer needed to be closed and would attempt to be restarted after the uninstallation is complete.

However, after the uninstall process completes, Windows Explorer does not restart and you are left without a desktop environment.

Please note that we have reported this issue to Microsoft and I didn't know that you can restart Windows Explorer [explorer.exe]!

When you are running a Mac with Parallels to run your Autodesk product [AutoCAD], we only support the default setup of Parallels and Windows.  The instructions for this default setup is noted here:

Setting Parallels Desktop to run Windows from the Boot Camp partition is not supported and the instructions for this setup is noted on Page 16 here:

The reason for this is that the Autodesk product [AutoCAD], is registered to the Windows hard drive partition in Boot Camp.  When you install Parallels afterwards and try to run the Autodesk product , it is trying to read the registration information on the Mac hard drive partition and it will error out.

To resolve this issue, please follow the following instructions:

1.  Restart your Mac in Boot Camp so that you are running in the Windows partition.

2.  You will need to show hidden files on Windows.

If you get this error when running AutoCAD 2013 or AutoCAD 2012 on Windows 7, please check out the workaround below:

If you create a deployment and select the Support Content to go in:  Program Install Folder, you will get the error message above.

Windows 7 will not allow the writing of files in the Program Files folder. The config file cannot be written there.  The result is an error message and AutoCAD crashing upon launch. This is not a problem for Windows XP.

Legacy AutoCAD CAD Managers have typically deployed the Support Content to the Program install folder.   With Windows 7, User Access Control [UAC] will block the proper installation and configuration of AutoCAD.  This error will still happen if you attempt to run AutoCAD in an Administrator account.

NOTE:  You need to use the default setting:  User local profile folders and the installation of AutocAD 2012/2013 via a deployment will work as expected.

If you have a license file that is really long, you will notice that there is a limit on how much can be displayed when doing a Perform Status Enquiry.   Please check out these 2 workarounds:

1.  Use the Individual Feature Option in lmtools.exe

A.  Use www.licenseparser.com to check the license and to search for the Feature Code to use in lmtools.exe.

B.  In lmtools.exe > Server Status Tab, before you click on the Perform Status Enquiry button, enter the Feature Code in the Individual Feature Option.

2.  Go old school and do it via Command Prompt.  The basic syntax is:

"C:\Program Files\Autodesk Network License Manager\lmutil.exe" lmstat -a -c "C:\path\of\license\file\sample.lic" > C:\results.txt

We recently got a case that came into Product Support in which Inventor 2013 was hanging at the splash screen on Windows 7/XP.   The culprit was a Microsoft KB2633171.  Once you uninstall the update, the software would function properly.

It was a bit of luck to solve the problem.  Basically, we had to find out the last working day the Autodesk software ran and then we checked for programs and updates that were installed on that day.
