Tin Shed

Three of us girls went for brunch on a sunny Sunday. I LOVED IT! The music was upbeat and I felt like I was on a private deck with a bunch of people I had yet to meet! If you want a quiet intimate setting, this is not for you. You can order many different kinds of Bloody Mary's...I'll go back again and again! -- by SpinGirl

Salvador Molly's

First of all, Salvador Molly's happy hour does not start until 4pm and they do not have happy hour specials on cocktails or beer, only food. Second, the happy hour food is only okay, and the jerk chicken and pulled pork is subpar. Thirdly, the Salvador Molly IPA was flat and not good. The only redeeming quality is that the atmosphere was nice and the waiting staff was pleasant. -- by restaurantcritic09

Henry's 12th Street Tavern

The Upside: You can't beat the quality, variety and cost of the happy hour food menu. Great location, great building and an overall high energy vibe. The beer selection is second to none- 100+ on tap and most of the best micro brews from around the country. Also, the extended hours is a great thing.
The Downside: Service is consistently slow and non engaging. I find sitting at the bar to be worse service than sitting on the patio or one of the tables near the bar. Bartenders are so swamped or something that they never come over to take your order. Very frustrating. You will never feel like a local at this place even if you are there every night. Wait staff will not recognize you and every time I am there, I am sitting next to traveling businessmen from out of State or Oregonians from other parts of our State.
The incredible quality and quantity of beer is offset by the ridulously high price for the beer. No happy hour price for beers, which is tragic because the normal price is out of control. It also bugs me that you cannot order from the happy hour menu from the restaurant. You must be in the bar. -- by GBruce

East Chinatown Lounge

This place is TERRIBLE! Not only are the drinks sub-par, the glasses come with chips and the owner is a jerk. The drinks on the bill are double and triple the advertised cost on the menu.

Bistro 921

Bistro 921 is a convenient and reliable place for happy hour after work or a drink before the show. The service is always prompt and courteous, the food is an exceptional value for the price as well as the drinks. -- by SKane

Blue Moon

Service is reprehensible, patronage tolerable, beer enjoyably potable, grub convincingly edible.

A killer location, a cool looking pub, if only the experience were better. They have an indoor fire pit, pool tables if you want attention, booths if you do not.

I've waited 20 minutes after getting my bill before finally giving up and walking my card and bill over to an available waiter so I can pay and leave. Twice.

No third time charming this one. -- by Insano

Life of Riley Tavern

One of my favorite bars in Portland! Being a sports fan, going to Riley's at Happy Hour is a huge score because most of the East coast games are on from 4pm-7pm. This is a perfect window to take advantage of the beer selection and food for a few bucks less. Everything I have had on the menu has been delicious ... but the fries are still the must have for me. Riley's is one of the places to go for watching the big game or shootin some pool with friends. -- by reh

Fenouil Restaurant

VERY disappointed with management. We went there with out of town guests. When we asked to sit outside for drinks and lighter fare they said it would be just a few moments. A half an hour later we were still waiting. The reserved "full fare" side was completely empty and they would not allow us to sit there. We walked by two hours later and the full fare dining side was still completely empty. Serves them right. -- by dgeejay

Leonardo's on Lovejoy

Homemade, made-to-order calzone was incomparably better to anything I've ever had in my life. It was a Saturday night, there was an older gentleman playing the same 5 violin songs for the duration of our stay. The effect was nice.
Overpriced for the atmosphere, dead as a scene, but if you have cause to eat a calzone...my word. -- by Insano

Candy

*****NO DRINK SPECIALS******

Don't bother with this place. Nothing special and worse yet - they charge full price for drinks at "happy hour".

It's the old "bait n' switch".

Plus there is a high d-bag factor. I have never seen so many low quality people in a Pearl bar as in this place. -- by BobW

Swank but not too swank, and great deals on yummy food and drinks. HH menu is a nice balance between gourmet (great raw oysters and salads) and greasy spoon (deep fried artichoke rolls, corn dogs). $5 drink specials. One of my new neighborhood fav's. -- by acamille

Bernie's Southern Bistro

My wife and I stopped in yesterday - 5-23-09, and the patio wasn't open. Opens June 1st. Didn't know that. Now we do. Also, no beer at all on tap. Find it odd that a bar in PDX doesn't have microbeer on tap nowadays. We had Lagunitas IPA in bottle @ $3.75 a pop. Ouch. Not much to make us happy. -- by beerfan
