Portland City Grill

Happy hour at Portland City Grill is the best hands down. My hubby and I only do HR's for going out and we have frequented many, in fact we have a book. The food is the best, the prices are the best, the view is the best and the service is the best. Yes, definitely the best HR to take out of town guests. On top of all of that the service is good. We are veg ans and THIS IS SOME HEALTHY FOOD! -- by jamieraegro

Boxer Sushi

I'm pretty sure that Boxer Sushi doesn't have a happy hour, but that shouldn't stop you from some of the best sushi in town. This location is small, so be sure to arrive early - they open at 5:30. The $38 dinner special is worth considering. -- by MarkoRamius

Mi Mero Mole

Mi Mero Mole offers great Mexican food and tequila selection in a no frills location out on east division. The portions are large, the drinks are strong, and there seems to always be a special of the day. This is a solid alternative to Por Que No. -- by MarkoRamius

Golden Horse - Powell St Pub

Great dive bar! Friendly fast service, cheap drinks (they really do have $2 well drinks all the time..) You can sing some karaoke, play pool for free, play buck hunter, gamble, pretty much everything that I look for in a dive bar. Plus they don't care if you bring in your own food! I'll be back.. -- by ambercs

Trigger

Happy hour at Trigger - none yet. Trigger is a Tex-Mex nacho bar - no big deal. The food is good, but this place is sort of a bummer considering it's run by Bunk. On a busy night they have only a single bartender. You'll wait 20 minutes for a draft Pacifico. There's no way to reach the bar to place an order because the bar stools are packed shoulder to shoulder. Meanwhile, wait staff is standing around waiting for the sole bartender to fill drink orders for their tables. Super annoying. I give Trigger 3 stars only because of their food and frozen Margaritas. -- by MarkoRamius

Hop & Vine, The

Rotating taps best checked on FB. Usually a cider, others combination of more obscure locals and some Euro choices. Happy hour noshery more is selected menu items off regular menu at about $2 off. The key part is the burger, which is in the pantheon of Portland burgers. No fries so you might feel slightly healthier about things. The bacon wrapped dates are the pinnacle of that particular art form. Great special events. Good bottle shop connected, should none of the draught options grab you.

The description in the other review sounds an awful lot more like Palace of Industry on Gay south of K'worth (vintage / bands ). -- by rossbot

Triple Nickel Pub

I was outside enjoying a drink with friends when we witnessed a Triple Nickel customer get hit by a car. The door man was concerned and ran and got what I presume was a manager. The manager was rude to everyone inside and was asking the customer if he wanted him to call anyone. The guy who got hit was so out of it and it looked to me as if he had some sort of head injury, like a concussion. He was out of it and didn't know what happened. My friends and I got the driver's license plate, just in case he chose to drive off and we were giving it to the manager, doorman, and others. The manager told his people not to call the police, or for an ambulance. When I inquired about what Triple Nickel was going to do to help this guy (I was concerned for this guy's health), the manager yelled at me, berated me, and made my entire party (15 or so of us) feel really uncomfortable. Needless to say we'll never go there again. If I were the guy that got hit, I'd sue the pants off of Triple Nickel if it turns out that I did have medical bills associated with this vehicle hit. -- by lesleywitnessedaccident

Beer Bunker Tap Room

Happy hour at Beer Bunker gives you a dollar off their beers on tap. This place has a small but unique tap list. Tons of fresh hop beers in October. Not much by way of decor, pretty basic. Overall this is a welcome addition to the Montevilla neighborhood. -- by MarkoRamius

Saraveza

Happy hour at Saraveza must have just recently been added. Now some food specials are available at a slightly reduced price. For example, their sausage plate (normally $5) was only reduced to $4 or $4.50. They may also offer beer specials on draft, not sure. This place is worth a visit whether its happy hour or not, since they have one of the best beer selections in the city, and they cure their own meats. On Monday nights you get a free piece of bacon with every pint purchase after 6pm when happy hour concludes. -- by MarkoRamius

Hop & Vine, The

Super chill spot, part vintage store, part bootleg club-bar. Patio seating in warmer weather. Great live music groups sometimes include string quartets who can play all over the map. Meh selection of drinks, atmosphere is a 9 though. -- by Insano
