I love Scuba Diving. I’ve been enjoying it for over 4 years now and I just can’t get enough.

It’s a whole new world under the sea. I’m sure many of you have watched documentaries or programs on Nat Geo. I’m sure many of your thought to yourselves “Why waste my time going diving when I can see all I need to see on TV?”

Well in some aspects you may be right. These TV programs and documentaries can teach you a lot and show you things that many of us will never have a chance to see. And we can see them in HD quality too!!

But on the other hand, TV can never compare to the real thing. You don’t get the feeling of being 20-some odd metres under the water by watching it on TV. You don’t experience the feeling of freedom of mobility, the feeling of gliding and hovering above the ground. That’s all part and parcel of the whole Scuba experience.

But bear in mind it’s not just all fun and games. It is a dangerous activity. Without proper training and instruction, a number of different things can go wrong. Even with proper training and instruction things can go wrong. But at least the training helps you lower the risk of such things happening and keeps you prepared to respond when they do.

Please don’t be put off by the levels of risks involved. If you have been through a proper certified program then you will enjoy it.

I personally recommend the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) certification program. PADI is the most widely used and recognized certification program. The programs are tailored to recreational diving, except if you would like to enter into the technical diving route.

Please check the PADI website at http://www.padi.com/scuba/ and learn more about it.

You can also see a list of PADI authorized dive centers here in Kuwait where you can sign up for the programs and get accredited and also go out for a dive trip on the weekend to one of the local islands off the coast of Kuwait. Click here to search the PADI website for your nearest PADI approved Dive Centers.

I received both my Open Water and Advanced certificates from the Palms Hotel Dive Center. The staff and the instructors there are very friendly and professional. And they will do everything they can to make sure you are properly trained and qualified before they take you out for a dive in the sea.

If you want to get certified or if you are already certified and would like to go out for a few dives on the weekend then feel free to drop me a message or a tweet and we could arrange for a dive trip together.

Take care and dive safe :)

My friend Omar decided to message me at 7:30 in the morning asking if i was up, I’m always up by 5 so I was like yeah. He asks if i wanna go have breakfast I was like cool I’ll come pick you up in 30 minutes. An hour later he comes out of his house. We go to Starbucks in Jabriya to have our morning double shot of espresso. After a while debating where to go he tells me lets go to the BreakfastClubKW. His colleague at work kept raving about thier sandwich and he wanted to try it out and see whats up.

We head out towards Kuwait city into Kipco Tower, park our cars and head out on a mission to find the place. After two minutes we are in the place holding the mini iPads in our hands looking at pictures of what we were going to order. Omar starts messaging his friend to find out what the sandwich is called, and it was the Fried egg sandwich.

Fried Egg Sandwich

After a bit of contemplating on what I wanted i decided to go for the full American breakfast, I had mine with scrambled eggs and Omar had his with sunny side up eggs. I really like that in this place the pictures on the menu are exactly what you get served. I had my first bite and it was heavenly. I am in love with their hash browns. Not to mention the view and atmosphere were really good. Me and Omar or Omar and I (thank you Miss Dilulio, my 10th and 12th grade english teacher <3) stopped chatting and got down to a munch down contest, enjoying each bite.

Overall I think, I found a place where I can go every week and have breakfast with friends and family, and enjoy their company with great tasting food. Enough of me boring you with talk look at the pictures instead.

What: Parents’ Softball Tournament (PST) end of season playoffs.

When: Sunday 28th April starting at 6:00pm.

Where: Kuwait Little League (KLL) fields at the Hunting and Equestrian Club just off the 6th Ring Road.

I have participated in the KLL Parents’ Softball League since last year and let me tell you it is a lot of fun. Unfortunately this years’ tournament is coming to a close but if you’re interested then come out today and check it out, and hopefully you can join in next year.

The same goes for the Kuwait Little League. If you’re interested in signing up your children then be sure to check out the website above. It’s a great non-profit organization that provides a great way for children to participate in a sport, meet other kids, receive great coaching from talented and friendly staff and it’s a fun day out for the kids and their families.

But more importantly you should come out and cheer on my team, The Natural Born Killers!

We’ve ranked as the 1st seed based on our league position and we go into the tournament as favorites. So come out and cheer us on and we’ll put on a great show for you to enjoy.

Hey Urbanizers

During our last episode of Straight Talk we talked a little bit about the TRX Suspension Trainer, a workout system that leverages gravity and your bodyweight to perform hundreds of exercises. It’s a great piece of exercise equipment. It’s small and compact, can be installed virtually anywhere, and gives you more control over how much you want to challenge yourself on each exercise. It’s a cheap piece of equipment, especially considering the potential benefits it gives you.

It allows you to utilize your own bodyweight, giving you greater performance and functionality than large exercise machines costing thousands of dollars. Switching from one exercise to another is quick and easy and doesn’t require you to change anything regarding its instillation, as opposed to working out with dumbbells and weights where you’d have to keep adding or removing weights between exercises.

I bought mine a few weeks ago from Decathelon in Marina Mall for under 50KD. I’m sure you may find it being sold in other retail sports stores also.

Take a look at this instructional video and go out and get one if you’re serious about improving your fitness and getting into shape. You don’t have to be an athlete to use it, even if you’re overweight or out of shape, I still recommend you try it.

Yes that’s right. The Champions League Semi-Finals are upon us once more.

For the second time since the 2004-05 season, the English Premier League has no representative in the biggest club competition in the world, The Uefa Champions League (last time being the 2009-10 season).

Instead, this season showcases the might of the Spanish La Liga against the force of the German Bundesliga.

Tonight Barcelona FC, the Spanish Champions elect, take on Bayern Munich, the already crowned Champions of Germany.

Tomorrow the 9 time European Champions Real Madrid face the up-and-coming German force in Borussia Dortmund.

The stage is set for the Spanish and the Germans to battle it out for European supremacy, providing even greater evidence towards the growing stature and quality of the German league and to some extent the Spanish too.

Some may even suggest that the absence of English teams at this stage in the competition, and their lackluster performances for the most part in this competition (Arsenal’s demolition of Bayern in the second leg of the quarter-finals excluded), represents the fall of the Premier League clubs in Europe.

What do you think? Has the candle burned out for English Clubs on the European Stage?

And, who will (or who would you like to see) make it to the Champions League Final in Wembley and eventually win the coveted European Crown?

Let me know what you think and stay tuned for an in-depth analysis of the Beautiful Game, Football.
