If you've wandered back to this website, perhaps hoping to see some pictures taken during the reunion, you're in luck. I'm going to add some links to some galleries that house said pictures.

Again to everyone who came to participate and support this event, thank you very much. We all agreed that it turned out better than we all could have imagined, when we first started to plan this thing.

If you have tried to use the online registration form, and it tells you that it is over quota, fear not. Just send an e-mail to 25rscg@gmail.com, and send your name, which event you are going to attend, if you are bringing a guest, and if you plan to ride in the motorcycle run on Saturday. We'll get back to you. Seems we reached our quota of submissions with the form!

Where It All Began.. March 1, 1985

A bronze plaque has been commissioned and completed, and will be installed at Air Station Elizabeth City, commemorating the birthplace of the USCG Helicopter Rescue Swimmer Program. The ceremony will be held Friday, April 2nd, 2010 from 1000-1100 at the Air Station Helo Hanger.

Schedule and Location of Events for Rescue Swimmer Program Anniversary

Right now, here's what we have on the schedule.

Barbeque at the Air Station C-130 Hangar at 11:30 a.m., April 2nd.
April 2nd at Noon, at C-130 hanger at the Air Station.
This will follow the ALSE Conference taking place this week.

Reception at the Museum of the Albemarle, 5:00 p.m., April 2nd.
April 2nd, 5:00 p.m. at the Museum of the Albemarle, 501 S. Water Street Elizabeth City, NC.
There will be speakers and Coast Guard Displays. Heavy hors d' oeuvres and a bar will be provided by Montero’s Restaurant and there will be plenty of time to spend with fellow rescue swimmers and their guests.
Dress is business casual, so break out those chino's and polo shirts!

OBX Motorcycle Ride April 3rd.
Saturday, April 3rd. Bikers will meet at Waterfront Park, (directly across the street from the Museum of the Albemarle) at 9:30-9:45 a.m.with full tanks and empty bladders.
Kick stands up and rolling out of the parking lot at 10:00 a.m.

Lunch for the OBX Ride, at The Black Pelican.
We got a hot tip from Butch, seems like the Black Pelican in Kitty Hawk is a really nice place to eat, and they're willing to give us our own room upstairs, overlooking the ocean. Check the menu when you visit their website HERE..

BREAKING NEWS!!
The motorcycle ride has been extended, here's the details:
After lunch, everyone that wants to continue on, will mount up and press on south towards Rodanthe, NC. We'll stop, enjoy a beverage of choice at a local establishment, and talk about everyone who didn't show up!! Just kidding.. But this will add about 80 miles to our ride, so plan accordingly. Four wheel vehicles will be excluded from this portion of the ride..If you can't participate in the ride down to Rodanthe, you can escort the cagers back to E-City!!

We're starting to get some response to the event and I need some help. If you want to attend, send us an e-mail with the following information;
Full name, number and names of attendees in your group, and if you'll be attending all events. Those events being the luncheon, the reception, and the ride to the Outer Banks Saturday a.m.

Planning, Planning, Planning...

Lunch time planning session today with Dyer and Flythe. One activity Butch came up with is a motorcycle run on Saturday a.m. to the Outer Banks. So, if you can ride it or trailer it here, let us know when you e-mail us to let us know you're coming out. What could possibly go wrong??

Coast Guard Helicopter Rescue Swimmer Anniversary!

OK, here it is. April 2nd, 2010.
The 25th Anniversary of the USCG Helicopter Rescue Swimmer Program will be celebrated where it all started, in Elizabeth City, NC. We're working on sponsors and a schedule, and will post details here as they become available.
