Here's how to disable read receipts, maximize photo privacy, and more

More than 1 billion people regularly use Facebook, but that doesn’t mean they’re all well-acquainted with the social media site. It’s constantly being refreshed, and between profile redesigns, new apps and privacy changes, it’s hard to keep up.

Here are five tricks to make sure you’re on top of your Facebook game:

Read the first Facebook message you ever sent to a friend

Get ready for a trip down memory lane (and for a great #tbt) without endlessly scrolling through conversations. The easiest (but slowest) way to see the first Facebook messages you sent to a friend is to download all your Facebook data, which you can do by going to General Settings and following the bottommost link. This can take hours or days because the function compiles every single message you’ve ever sent, among other data.

Here’s a faster way. On Facebook for desktop, go tohttps://m.facebook.com/messages/. (This is the mobile site, and its URLs display differently, which you’ll use to your advantage.) Now click on a friend’s chat. Right click on the button See Older Messages… and open the link in a new tab or window. In this new page, you’ll see a long URL with a lot of numbers. Look for the part that says &start=7. The “7” refers to the indexed messages that appear; your messages are indexed from 1, 2, 3 … from most recent to least recent. You’re going to want to set that number as close to the total number of Facebook messages you’ve ever sent to your friend — this will get you straight to the oldest messages.

To get this number, open Facebook messages on the desktop link:https://www.facebook.com/messages/. Click on a friend’s chat, and scroll up — you’ll see something like Load Older Messages (51583), which is approximately how many messages you have with this friend. Swap in that number in the long URL from before, and reload the page. From here, you’ll have to click a few more times on See Older Messages… — and now you’ll be back to the very first message.

Disable read receipts

Trying to ignore someone? Then you’re probably not a fan of read receipts — that note that says “Seen ” followed by the time or date you opened the message.

There’s no way to disable read receipts within Facebook, so you’ll have to turn to third-party applications. These only work for desktop browsers. For Chrome users, there’s the Facebook Unseen App. There’s also Crossrider’s Chat Undetected, which works for Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer.

ABC News warned last year to attempt any of these methods at your own risk, as Facebook’s Terms of Service state, “You will not do anything that could disable, overburden, or impair the proper working or appearance of Facebook.”

Remove “Last active” time on Facebook Messenger

Here’s another common grievance for those concerned about their activity privacy — that line that says something like “Active 1m ago” on Facebook’s mobile Messenger app.

Unfortunately, there’s no dependable in-Facebook solution or third-party app that can get rid of this feature. The only surefire method is to delete Facebook Messenger from your phone, and use Facebook only on desktop, or through your mobile browser.

Maximize photo privacy

First thing’s first — what can people see on your Facebook profile? To find out, go to your profile, and select View As… from the menu button on the bottom right corner of your cover photo. Now you’ll be able to see what your profile looks like to the public as well as to specific friends.

You might’ve noticed if you type “Photos of John Doe” into Facebook, you’ll still see photos of your friend John Doe — even if he’s set his tagged photos on his profile to private. That’s because the friends who uploaded tagged photos of John have set the photos’ settings to Public, Friends orFriends of Friends, and you fall under one of those categories.

If offending photos of you uploaded by somebody else are set to Public orFriends of Friends, then it’s possible that people who aren’t even your Facebook friends can see those photos. So how do you know which embarrassing photos might be visible to non-friends or friends? Go to yourActivity Log (it’s under the triangle-shaped button in the top-right corner). On the left-hand column, click on Photos, then select Photos of You. On the top banner, choose Public, Friends of Friends or Friendsafter Shared with: to see which photos of you are out there for which groups of people.

If a friend uploaded an embarrassing photo of you that’s set to Public orFriends of Friends, your only options are to ask him or her to change the setting to Friends. (You could also ask him or her to set it to Only Me if it’s that bad, or delete it altogether.) Or, you can untag yourself. It’s a slow process to manually check your photos, but it’s a thorough inspection, and it does the trick.

Check hidden Inbox messages

Here’s a quick and easy trick if you didn’t know about it. Messages you receive from people who aren’t your Facebook friends don’t show up in your Inbox. They’re in a different folder that most people think is reserved for annoying Event messages. So go to Messages and click on Other (99+). Chances are you’ll find a few messages you missed.

While this is not actually new, many people have no idea about this feature. Since 2011, Facebook has allowed users to chat with their friends using custom emoticons, and now you can too. Just by getting a page’s or a profile’s ID or username, Facebook will let you use their profile pictures as your chat emoticon in thumbnails…

*note this only works in the Facebook Chat and not in updates.

How to Do it:

1) Go to any profile, official Page, or event that you want to use as an emoticon.

2) Look for the profile ID at the end of the URL, such as “Mcdonalds” from https://www.facebook.com/McDonalds

3) Place that username or number in double brackets like [[Mcdonalds]]

Note: Pages with no username /vanity URL e.g https://www.facebook.com/McDonalds have default ID numbers displayed on their URLs (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Socially-Awkward-Penguin/98438140742). So when you cannot find a profile or a page’s username, just refer to the numbers at the end of the URL, instead.

4) Enter that into a Facebook Chat or Message field.

Do you know there are over thousands of websites and software that claim to hackFacebook password of any account? They'd ask you the victim's profile ID, maybe your credentials and some money too and will reportedly tell you the password which, to be honest, never works. Ever wonder why? Let me tell you why, they're FAKE! They're a scam which tricks you somehow in losing your money or your own Facebook account. Just give it a thought, why would Zuckerberg and his team spend Billions of Dollars on Facebook if one could hack it in less than a minute? Today, we'll take a look at this topic in detail with some example websites and software and get answers to some common related questions.

Back in 2005, I came across a mechanism that reportedly hacked Yahoo mail password for a user using some simple tricks. It didn't work for me for obvious reasons but I didn't stop believing the possibility until I grew up to realize how helpless I am here. One of the major concerns of large organizations like Facebook and Yahoo is security because of the super sensitive information about people they have. Their FREE Facebook hacker program is said to be capable of cracking the password of any Facebook user within a day. Sounds cool, I could try it out, but my Norton Antivirusrejected the file straight away.

I also picked up another one. This Hack-Fbook-Password asks me to enter the profile ID of a user and it will crack the password. I said Okay and began the process.

It ran certain algorithms to determine the password and finally landed me on a page that said I could DOWNLOAD the password IF I fill an online survey first. Those of you who've been redirected to surveys would know they don't work and are put just so to get traffic and earn money.

I said maybe I should leave the website now but hey, they gave me a prize!

So I just became the luckiest person in my city just like that!

Now tell me, how can a sane person believe in all this?

The truth!

Let me get this straight to you, these websites do nothing at all just waste your time and are never able to do the job. In fact, downloaded programs just make the situation worse when you run them. I had my Norton Antivirus to guard me otherwise I could be in severe danger currently.

These software are mostly keyloggers and tracking programs that record your keystrokes and action and steal personal information from your computer in the background and send it to their master servers. So ultimately a hacker wannabe gets hacked, how ironic!

From now on in the post, I'll be using the word 'Hacker' for these websites and software since you're no more in the position to be called that.

Why do these 'Hackers' do all that?

Setting up websites, maintaining them and developing software is not an easy task. It requires some money. So why do these 'hackers' do all the hassle? It's because they get equivalent or more money in return. They can extract your credit card details and other banking info from your system and use it for their advantage. They can hack your account and use it for wrong purposes. Give me one reason why one wouldn't steal money and hack accounts for no loss.

Why people fall in their webs?

Why do people try to use such unreal hacking procedures? It's because it's unreal to me, it's unreal to you but not to those who are not much familiar with the working of a software. They get in the web of these hackers and eventually get screwed up pretty bad without consent.

The websites give guarantees and also portray their 'imaginary' happy customers so as to trick a reader. Such tactics are simple but really powerful and serves to their advantage in most cases. This is also why there are thousands of such websites available.

So is Facebook account an 'unbreakable fortress'?

Well, NO. Facebook accounts can be hacked. No online service is foolproof and that is because of the flaws and bugs in their software. There are several ACTUAL hackers in the world who can analyse a website's security and use that against it thus making hacking a reality.

Step 5: After Click on “Options” Click on “Explore” Tab to Show up all the available facebook Themes to Choose from.

Step 6: Choose any theme of you choice by Clicking on “Install” , The facebook theme is now installed, Click on Installed tab to verify.

Step 7: By now, every thing is Done. Open Facebook and Check the New theme, You may change it later on by Choosing another theme from the list of Facebook themes provided there.

HOW DO I REVERT BACK TO DEFAULT THEME ?

If you ever feel like switching to the default theme Just Goto Installed tab and Disable the theme.

Step 6: Now click on the Small arrow to Expand the Code Further.

Scroll down a bit, you will find <input type=”hidden” autocomplete=”off” name=”photo_fbid” value=”491366447588908“>

Now all You need to do is Replace the Current fbid Value with the one you Copied earlier in Step 3, You can do it by Double Clicking on the Current fbid Value and Replace it with the one you Copied earlier which is in my case :491366447588908.

Step 7: Click anywhere , Close Inspect Element Window and Now Click on Save, All Done, Now Check your timeline, update any status and you will see Different Profile Picture.

Steps For Merging Pages

Now Log in into your Facebook Account
Then to merge Facebook pages Click Here
If the form will appear then its fine other refresh that form again or otherwise change your country in Hola Extension.
Select Your Page in 1st Page option ( Page Which want to keep)
Tick the box and select 2nd Page which you want to merge.

1st Part :- Add Proxy To All Browsers

Firstly you have to add below given proxy to your Browser

Proxy:- 83.111.92.120

Port:- 3128

Steps For Mozilla Firefox

Go To the Tools tab in Menu bar at top of your browser >> Then Option Button

Now Click on the Advance Tab >> Now select network tab >> Then click Settings

Then Click on Manual Proxy and Add Above given Proxy and Port

After Pasting Proxy and Port also check button for using this proxy for all port. As shown in below image.

Steps To Add Proxy in Google Chrome

Go to Setting Tab of Chrome on Right Top Side menu

Then Click on Show Advance Setting Option which comes at last in Settings window

Then Find Network tab and click on Change Proxy Settings

New Pop Window will appear >> Click on Setting button Just below of remove button

Then Add above given proxy and Port and all Tick the button of Bypass Proxy settings

Important Note:- Sometime their may be a problem in internet connectivity while Log in Facebook account after using proxy.So i suggest if you also face problem. Then Log in Account First and then Add Proxy setting to browser

2nd Part :- Steps To Translate Page Name

After following all steps of 1st part then follow below steps to merge pages

Firstly Open your all pages which you want to merge.

Then Click on the Edit Page Setting >> Update Info From Admin panel of All Pages

After Opening Update Info Panel of all pages now change your language settings from button at the bottom of the page.

Now select Asia-Pacific >> Then Select Simplified Chinese ( China )

After Selecting Language Refresh All Update Info panels of all pages

In Info panel of each page their is an option of Translate Page Name Click on it.

Now copy the Chinese word which is on Left side when we click on Translate Option.

Copy that word and paste them in Box of Chinese and Then Save it.

Follow this Translates Name Step For all pages which you want to merge.

3rd Part:- Steps To Merge Different Pages

After Translating name of all pages

Click on Settings tab of all Pages in which is at second button after Update Info Tab

Now At the Last 2rd Position Their is an option of Merge Duplicate Page.

Click on the Merge Duplicate Page

Now List of all the pages will appear of all translate name pages.

Now Check then Pages which You want to merge.

After Selecting click on done button now your pages will disappears and their likes will transfer in that pages in which we merge.

Now Change Your Language again into English

Now Remove Your Manual Proxy and Select System Proxy settings

All Done

Some Important Things to Keep In Mind While Using This Tricks

Don’t Forget To Remove Proxy after using it. If you continue using proxy you account may get block or Their will be a Proxy blockage.

Translate Page name will done once for particular. So Use correct method white translate and never remove translate name. Otherwise you will not able to merge.

Merge Will be done in Big pages means your smaller pages can be merge in Big once. Not Big once into smaller.

Suppose If you have two pages 1st Page with 10,000 Likes and 2nd with 5,000 Likes.

You can merge 2nd Page into 1st one But don’t able to merge 1st one into 2nd.

After Merging Your 2nd pages will disappears and 5,000 likes will transfer into 1st one and Your will become of 15,000 likes.

You can merge upto 5,6 pages in single Page then error may be occur.
