Nick Dodson, a 2011 NAIA National Champion in the 400-meter hurdles, has joined Florida Tech�s track and field program as its first assistant coach, head coach Pete Mazzone announced on Friday.

Nebraska hosts Mark Colligan Memorial meet this weekend

The Mark Colligan Memorial is named in honor of former track and field Assistant Coach Mark Colligan. In his 20 seasons at Nebraska he coached five individuals to a combined 12 NCAA championships and saw his athletes capture 68 All-America awards. He coached throwers to one American and two collegiate records and 72 Big 12 Championships. Colligan passed away suddenly in June at the age of 47.

Big South Conference adds Longwood University as full member

The Big South Conference has added Longwood University as a full member effective with the 2012-13 academic year, it was announced today by the Conference's Council of Chief Executive Officers. Longwood's addition increases the Big South membership to 12 institutions for the first time in League history.

NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Notre Dame track and field freshman standout Chris Giesting broke a 29-year old Irish mark on Saturday as he lowered the school record in the 500-meter run to 1:01.89 at the Notre Dame Invitational. The time also broke the Meyo Track record from 2007.

Texas A&M and LSU split in dual meet

In a dual meet between national powers Texas A&M men defeated LSU, 88-68, while the Aggie women fell to LSU, 82.5 to 76.5, on Saturday in front of 1,408 fans at Gilliam Indoor Track Stadium.

Included in the reunion will be the honoring of the 1975 Big Ten outdoor championship men's track and field team coached by Gary Wieneke. The post-meet celebration will begin at 6 pm CT with the ring ceremony following shortly afterwards.

The University of Texas-Pan American Track and Field head coach Dave Hartman has resigned his position to accept an assistant coaching job at Lamar University. Hartman coached UTPA Cross Country for two seasons and Track and Field one season during his tenure with the Broncs. Third year assistant coach Xavier Richardson will assume the leadership of the indoor and outdoor Track and Field program as the interim head coach for this semester.
