This Customer Service Week, we're celebrating the Finance Solution Center (FSC) team and the many ways they support our customers and keep Finance operations running smoothly!

So far this year, the FSC team has resolved 21,689 AskFinance cases. Their commitment to providing excellent service shines through in a 94% customer satisfaction score and first-response SLA performance above 85%, consistently exceeding the 80% target, quarter after quarter.

And our FSC team does much more than resolve cases! Their work spans a variety of essential services, including covering the UVAFinance front desk for walk-in customers reviewing and approving new supplier registrations, depositing checks received on behalf of the University, and receiving and routing incoming mail and garnishments.

These behind-the-scenes efforts make a meaningful difference for customers and colleagues across the University. Whether they're answering a question, processing a request, or keeping important work moving forward, the FSC team helps make everyone's day a little easier.

Contract Requests Are Moving to Workday Strategic Sourcing: What to Expect

Here's what to expect!

Procurement Services is introducing the Contract Intake form in Workday Strategic Sourcing (WSS) as the single starting point for all contract requests handled by Procurement Services. The rollout begins in December with Non-Purchase Order (Non-PO) contracts and expands in January to include PO-related contracts.

What's Changing?

One form, one starting point. Once both phases are in place, every contract request will begin with a Contract Intake in WSS, regardless of payment type. Contract Intake replaces today's separate starting points for contract review: a Workday Requisition for PO contracts and the Request Form in UVA Marketplace for Non-PO contracts (e.g., no-cost contracts or those paid via University T&E card) For PO contracts, a Requisition will still be required after the contract is executed.

Familiar questions, with a few enhancements. Contract Intake asks similar questions departments answer today, with enhancements to help Procurement Services identify compliance needs and clarify requirements earlier. Gathering this information up front helps requests move forward with fewer late-stage issues.

The main chance. Departments will submit the Contract Intake form first, then complete the applicable purchasing steps after the contract is executed (i.e., submitting a Requisition or paying by T&E Card).

The Non-PO Contract Request Form in the UVA Marketplace will be retired, and all Non-PO contract requests must be submitted using the Contract Intake form in WSS.

Contract Intake in WSS becomes the required first step for all contract submissions.

The phased rollout gives Grounds time to learn the form and ask questions, with training, reference resources, and support available before each launch date.

What Does This Mean for You?

Your department will document the business need and flag relevant compliance considerations based on your knowledge of the goods or services. After contract execution, you'll complete the purchasing steps, monitor contract performance, and track upcoming expirations.

Procurement Services will continue to review and negotiate contract terms, coordinator compliance activities, and manage contract signature and execution.

What Happens Next?

Training details and reference materials will be shared ahead of each phase. For now, continue using the current contract request process and share this announcement with colleagues who submit contract requests so they are aware of the upcoming changes and rollout dates.

Contract Intake is a step toward a clearer path for every contract request, and also builds toward a Workday-first approach and a more transparent, collaborative experience between departments and Procurement Services. For more information, visit the UVAFinance Procurement Transformation site.

Every good renovation starts with a sign on the door that says "Pardon Our Dust", so consider this our sign indicating the exciting new process coming soon to our UVA Finance community.

We are reimaging the account certification process to better meet the needs of our finance partners across Grounds and our institution's leadership. As we have considered the environment and leadership needs of UVA, it became apparent that our account certification process could be reimagined to not only be a strong control on our finances but also provide valuable context about financial activities across the University. Today is the first peek, with more to come!

Note On the Remodel Design: What Isn't Changing

The Account Certification process for Grants will not be changing. These detailed reviews support sponsor reimbursement documentation and reconciliation requirements. This part of the Account Certification process will be keeping its current look and requirements!

Our New Build: Financial Health Review

As you think of this remodel, you can think of the Financial Health Review as a summary-level analysis that uses budget and prior year financials to give you valuable insights on unit financial activity. There are two parts of this new process:

■ Monthly Activity Review

Financials are analyzed at the sub-department level (level 1 cost center hierarchy) to develop insights that will help provide key context for MBU leadership conversations. Finance teams will be able to spot and tackle unexpected variances before they become bigger puzzles to solve.

■ Quarterly Health of the MBU

Year-to-Date financials will be reviewed by the MBU to tell the story of the finances including important trends or emerging issues. These insights will help build the bigger story of UVA's finances and help our institution's leadership understand what has happened and where we are going.

Building with the Tools We Already Have - Anaplan

We are leaning on our new Anaplan tool for the new Financial Health Review process. The Anaplan system will help make this process useful and user-friendly while also driving more connection between our planning tool and the actuals that are occurring day-to-day.

Designed for MBU Flexibility

We recognize that each MBU has their own unique financial structures and this has been front of mind in the design of the FHR process. For the process, each MBU owns the configuration of their sub-department structures and assigns individuals to the roles in the new process.

A Note for School of Medicine

The School of Medicine will continue their current internal monthly review process rather than be required to complete the monthly FHR process from UVAFinance. SOM will still be required to complete the monthly Grant account certifications as well as the quarterly FHR MBU review.

This is just the start! We're anticipating go-live in February 2027 for review of January actuals. This session introduces the Fogg Behavior Model (FBM), developed by Stanford behavior scientist BJ Fogg, Ph.D., and explores practical ways to apply behavior design in your work.

You'll hear how UVA faculty and staff have used these methods in student leadership development, communications, and a teacher training grant. Then, in small groups, you'll explore how to apply Fogg's methods to a work-related challenge through a guided activity.

Whether you're encountering behavior design for the first time or looking for new ways to encourage behavior change, this session offers practical models and methods you can put to use right away.

Anaplan: New Transfer Options and Final 2026 Training Opportunities

What's next for Anaplan?

Academic Anaplan users will soon have a new process for requesting changes to previously approved transfers. The process, deploying October 19, provides a way to request corrections to worktags, amounts, or both.

We're also sharing a reminder about the final Anaplan training opportunities for 2026.

Reopening an Approved Transfer

Beginning with the October 19 deployment, users can request that an approved transfer be reopened to make necessary changes.

Who can use this process?

This process applies only to transfers with a Submission Status of Approved and is available while the working budget is open. It does not apply to other transfer statuses or locked budget snapshots.

How to Request a Transfer Reopening

Complete the Reopening Approved Transfer Request Template. Identify whether the request involves worktags, amounts, or both. Include the FI Transfer Input Line ID, current and proposed values, and a justification for the change.
Verify the information. Before submitting, confirm that the template's Check column displays "OK."
Submit your request to AskFinance. Email the completed template to askfinance@virginia.edu with the subject line "Request to reopen an approved transfer."

What Happens Next?

Once the request is submitted:

Central Finance contacts the original transfer initiator, identified in Anaplan's "Entered By" field, for approval.
The initiator approves or declines the request. If declined, the transfer remains approved and unchanged.
If approved, Central Finance reopens the transfer, records the AskFinance case ID, makes the requested revisions, and resubmits it for processing.
Anaplan processes the resubmitted transfer at the top of the next hour. Its status changes from Reopened to Submitted, and the Receiving Unit can review it in 3.03 Transfers Review.

The original transfer initiator must approve the reopening request before Central Finance can proceed.

Important: Transfer Planning Model Downtime

The Transfer Planning Model will be unavailable beginning Sunday, October 18, at 6 p.m. and will reopen Tuesday, October 20, at 8 a.m. as part of the deployment.

Final Anaplan Training Opportunities for 2026

Only two instructor-led training sessions remain this calendar year for individuals who need Editor (Standard Role) access to Academic Anaplan.

How Do Workday Releases Work?

What Happens When Workday Releases New Features?

If it seems like Workday is always changing, there’s a reason for that.

Workday regularly updates its platform throughout the year, including weekly, monthly, and quarterly service updates that deliver fixes and enhancements. Twice each year (generally in March and September) Workday also delivers a larger feature release containing new and updated functionality.

But those changes don’t simply appear in Workday overnight.

A Chance to Look Ahead

Before a major release reaches the live Workday environment, upcoming functionality is documented in Workday release notes, and then made available in a Preview environment. This gives Workday customers an opportunity to review what’s coming, understand how changes may affect their organization, and test important business processes.

During this period, local support teams review Workday’s release information and determine which changes are relevant to the areas they support.

Not Every Change is the Same

Some Workday features are automatically available, meaning they become part of the system when Workday delivers them. Others may require configuration or a decision about whether and when to adopt the new functionality.

That means release preparation involves more than simply looking for new features. At UVA, our Workday teams may need to ask:

Does this change affect a process we use today?
Do we need to test existing functionality?
Is there new functionality we want to adopt?
Does anything need to be configured?
Will users notice a change?
Do we need to update guidance, training, or communications?

From Preview to Production

Approximately four weeks before the scheduled rollout, the major Workday release becomes available in the Preview tenant, providing an opportunity to review and test upcoming changes before they go live. On the scheduled rollout date, the release moves into Production, the live environment used for day-to-day activities.

Workday continues delivering updates throughout the year, while teams begin looking ahead to the next major release. This regular release cycle allows Workday to continually improve the platform while giving organizations time to understand and prepare for significant changes.

Meet Hayden Peper, UVAFinance Communications Generalist

Welcome, Hayden!

After getting to know UVAFinance as a student worker and part-time team member, Hayden Peper has officially joined the Communications team full-time as a Communications Generalist!

A University of Virginia graduate with degrees in psychology and English, Peper brings a love of storytelling, learning, and connecting with people to her role. She's already a familiar voice behind many UVAFinance blog posts, but this time, we're turning the spotlight on her.

Peper's responsibilities have grown to include developing blog content, creating graphics, coordinating email communications, and supporting outreach across the Finance community. One of her favorite parts of the job is translating information from different Finance departments into engaging, accessible stories for readers who may not be familiar with the University's financial operations.

As a student worker, she collaborated primarily with a smaller group of colleagues. Now, she's connecting with people throughout UVAFinance and gaining a better understanding of how their work fits together.

For Peper, working at UVA offers a new perspective on a place she's known for much of her life. Having grown up in the Charlottesville area and later attended UVA, she's experienced the University as both a community member and a student. Now, she's gaining an appreciation for the people and processes that keep the institution running.

"What is most mind-boggling to me is how many people it takes for just one department to keep this university running," she said.

She's also been struck by the ways Finance employees connect directly with students and the broader University community, something she hadn't fully appreciated during her time as a student.

Peper's curiosity extends well beyond her communications work. After discovering an interest in speech-language pathology through experiences shadowing professionals in a local clinic and working with children as a support teacher, she's now completing post-baccalaureate coursework in speech and hearing sciences through an online University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire program. She plans to pursue a master's degree in speech-language pathology.

These days, Peper calls Washington, D.C., home, where she enjoys exploring historic neighborhoods, visiting museums, discovering new restaurants, and spending time with friends. She's also developed an interest in collecting tiny art prints from vending machines scattered throughout the D.C. area, turning her walks into miniature treasure hunts.

Although she's enjoying city life, Charlottesville still holds a special place in her heart. She misses the Blue Ridge Mountains and walking local trails with her dog, Blue, and she looks forward to returning for visits.

We're delighted to welcome Hayden to her full-time role with UVAFinance and look forward to the stories, connections, and creative contributions she'll bring to the team!

Kim Deans Joins UVAFinance as Accounting Manager

Welcome Kim!

Please join us in welcoming Kim Deans to the UVAFinance team as an Accounting Manager!

With 28 years of accounting experience, Deans brings a wealth of knowledge to her new role at UVA. Her career includes previous experience at Virginia State University, where she developed a strong connection and love of higher education, with a desire to return to the field.

Originally from Richmond, Deans had always hoped to work at the University of Virginia. When the opportunity to join UVAFinance arose, it felt like the perfect next step—bringing her years of accounting experience back to higher education and allowing her to contribute to a University she has long admired.

As an Accounting Manager, Deans will lead the payroll reconciliation team, working with two Senior Financial Analysts focused on payroll and financial analysis. In her role, she will oversee the accounting side of payroll reconciliation, and help support accurate and informed financial reporting.

Outside of work, Kim enjoys traveling and giving back to her community through volunteer and nonprofit work. In Richmond, she is involved with Shriners and OES, and supports the American Heart Association through heart health advocacy and encouraging others to receive their CPR certification. She is also passionate about supporting people experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity.

We are excited to have Deans' experience and commitment to service on the UVAFinance team, and look forward to all she'll bring to this new role.

The 2026 Give Where You Live fall fundraising campaign is underway—and it's another opportunity for Hoos to come together, give back, and make a difference close to home.

A partnership between the University of Virginia and United Way of Greater Charlottesville, Give Where You Live gives UVA employees the opportunity to support local nonprofit organizations that are making a difference across our community. With more than 100 participating nonprofits representing a wide range of missions and community needs, there's an opportunity for everyone to find a cause that is close to their heart.

Community Partnership

Give Where You Live brings together two organizations with a shared commitment to strengthening the Charlottesville-area community. UVA employees have a long history of giving their time, talent, and resources to support their neighbors, while United Way of Greater Charlottesville brings 80 years of experience connecting community members with local organizations and causes. Together, this partnership makes it easier for UVA employees to support the nonprofits doing important work throughout the region.

Every day, local nonprofits provide resources and services that people in our communities depend on; from food and healthcare to education, youth programs, crisis support, and housing assistance. Through Give Where You Live, UVA employees can help these organizations continue their work to reach the people who need them most. With 100+ participating nonprofits, employees can choose the organizations and missions that mean the most to them.

It Started with Day of Caring

The campaign launched alongside another example of UVA's commitment to community service: the 35th annual Laurence E. Richardson Day of Caring.

On September 16th, more than 1,400 UVA employees volunteered at community service projects throughout the Greater Charlottesville region as part of the annual event, co-sponsored by UVA and United Way of Greater Charlottesville. Employees across Grounds spent the day working alongside local organizations, lending their time and energy to projects that support Charlottesvillians.

Give Where You Live builds on the Day of Caring's spirit of service by providing an opportunity to offer financial support for the same or similar local community organizations.

Employees can choose to give through payroll deduction or make a one-time donation by credit or debit card. The minimum charity donation is $5.

For those who choose payroll deduction, contributions will begin with the first paycheck of 2027 and continue across the year's 26 pay periods. Employees can designate a total dollar amount to be divided across the pay periods or choose a percentage of their pay.

Kris Harrison Joins UVAFinance as Senior Financial Analyst

Welcome Kris!

Kristopher (Kris) Harrison recently joined the UVAFinance team as a Senior Financial Analyst, bringing with him nearly a decade of experience in data analytics, financial modeling, and strategic decision-making. With a background in economics and extensive experience working with data to help organizations understand performance and plan for the future, he is excited to bring his analytical expertise to UVA in a new capacity.

Harrison earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Virginia in 2017. While at UVA, he developed an interest in data analytics that influenced his career after graduating, where he spent several years working in data analysis and marketing. Across the organizations he worked for, Harrison developed data visualizations, financial models, sales forecasts, and reporting tools for clients and stakeholders.

At UVAFinance, Harrison is looking forward to applying his previous experience in a new setting, while taking on the challenge of working with data on a larger scale. He says he was also drawn to the opportunity to move beyond marketing and use his analytical skills in a role that feels personally fulfilling. As a Senior Financial Analyst, he will bring his expertise in data analysis and reporting to support informed financial decision-making across the University.

Outside of work, Harrison enjoys skiing, golfing, frisbee, and playing chess. He's lived in Los Angeles and Colorado but is happy to be back in Virginia and connected to UVA once again. Please join us in welcoming him to the UVAFinance team!

Tracy Marcotte Completes Her Treasury Management Track

Congrats Tracy!

Tracy Marcotte recently completed the three-year Treasury Management Track through the Treasury Institute for Higher Education and the College Business Management Institute (CBMI).

The Treasury Management Track is designed for higher education finance professionals and includes 10 courses focused on treasury, investment and debt management and related areas. Participants complete the program over three years, attending an intensive week of coursework each summer at the University of Kentucky. Upon completing all three years, graduates receive a Certificate of Completion from the Treasury Institute and CBMI.

When Marcotte moved from Facilities Budgeting to Treasury, she and Treasury leadership put together a career plan for her new role and where it could lead. In the years since, she has taken on more responsibility, built her knowledge of Treasury’s work and continued to grow within the Treasury team.

This summer, Marcotte reached one of the goals included in that plan. After three years of coursework, she completed the Treasury Management Track, building on the experience she has gained at UVA with additional training in treasury, investment and debt management.

Congratulations to Tracy Marcotte on completing the Treasury Management Track and reaching this career milestone!

Matty Cash Transitions to Operations Coordinator Role

Congratulations Matty!

We're excited to share that Matty Cash will be stepping into a new role as Operations Coordinator with UVAFinance, building on the work she's done as Executive Assistant to Julie Richardson and Chris Peper.

In her position as Executive Assistant, Cash has been focused on supporting Richardson and Peper, finding ways to make their day-to-day schedules more manageable. From overseeing calendars and scheduling, to jumping in wherever an extra hand's needed, Cash has become a familiar, valued part of the UVAFinance team.

As Operations Coordinator, Cash will broaden her focus across UVAFinance, working at the intersection of Finance and HR. She'll support recruitment and hiring efforts, especially the onboarding and offboarding processes, helping bridge HR's expertise and the organizational and cultural knowledge needed to make these processes run smoothly within UVAFinance.

For Cash, one of the most exciting parts of this transition is getting more involved across UVAFinance, beyond the more focused area of operations she's been working in as an Executive Assistant. She is looking forward to strengthening her interpersonal connections throughout Finance, and she's currently developing a game plan; laying the foundation for this work, with plenty of opportunities ahead to help strengthen how we operate collectively. Simply put, Cash enthused she's eager to "help bring great people together to do great work."

The Operations Coordinator role also links back to work Cash has done in the past with UVA Health, where she assisted in recruitment efforts and engaged with applicants throughout the recruitment and hiring processes.

While she settles into this new position, Cash will continue supporting Richardson and Peper in the interim as we work toward welcoming a new Executive Assistant to the team.

Congratulations Matty! We're excited to see you take on this new opportunity and continue spreading your impact (and smile!) across UVAFinance.

Finding the right Expense Ambassador just got easier!

Expense Ambassador resources on the UVAFinance website have a new home on the Expense Ambassador landing page, making it easier for employees to find and connect with an Expense Ambassador in their area.

What's changed?

The updated Expense Ambassador resources now include:

A new Expense Ambassador landing page with information about the Expense Ambassador program and links to available resources.
An updated Expense Ambassador directory organized by MBU, making it easier to identify Ambassadors who support your area.
Individual Ambassador names so employees can more easily find and connect with their local resource.
A new Expense Ambassador application for employees who are interested in serving as an Expense Ambassador.

What do I need to do?

No action is required. The current Expense Ambassador directory link on the Finance website remains the same. When you visit the link, you'll now arrive at the new Expense Ambassador landing page, where you can learn more about the program and access the directory.

From there, you can search for an Expense Ambassador based on your MBU and find the appropriate resource for your area.

Why Is Professional Development Important?

Professional development offers a valuable opportunity to stay engaged and navigate the constantly changing landscape of Higher Education, and beyond. Whether you’re looking to learn new skills, sharpen existing ones, enhance your leadership abilities, explore new interests, stay on top of emerging trends, or simply connect with colleagues, there’s something for everyone.

Turning Development Into Impact

Professional development isn't just about what you learn, it's about what you do with what you learn. A course, conference, certification, or new project can give you new knowledge and ideas. But the real value comes when that learning begins to make a difference in your work.

Think about something you've learned recently. Has it changed the way you approach a problem? Helped you communicate more effectively? Given you a new perspective? Maybe you've found a better way to accomplish a task, share what you learned with a colleague, or felt more confident taking on a new challenge. Impact doesn't have to mean a dramatic change, it can show up in small ways.

As you think about your own professional development, don't just ask, What have I learned? Ask, What am I doing differently because of it? That shift—from learning something to using it—is where development becomes impact.

UVAFinance Gives Back: Day of Caring

This September, UVAFinance employees came together to give back to the Charlottesville community as part of United Way of Greater Charlottesville's Day of Caring. Held each September, Day of Caring brings local volunteers together to support nonprofits and community organizations through meaningful service projects across town.

Some members of our team spent the day at Darden Towe Park supporting Blue Star Families of Central Virginia, writing personal notes and postcards of encouragement for deployed service members. Blue Star Families supports military families and service members through a variety of community service initiatives, including sending care packages to troops throughout the year.

Other team members spent the day volunteering at Claudius Crozet Park, doing general cleanup, landscaping, and park beautification.

We're proud of our UVAFinance colleagues for taking time to connect with our community, support local organizations, and make a meaningful difference! Thank you to United Way for gathering the Charlottesville community for another wonderful Day of Caring!

New Look, Same Workday

Starting Saturday, September 19, Workday is getting a refreshed look designed to make it easier to navigate, find information, and access the actions you need.

UVA Workday users will notice updates to three primary areas: navigation, the Home Page, and Worker Profile.

While Workday will look different, the core tasks you complete each day will remain the same. Business processes, workflows, security roles, permissions, and user access are not changing.

What's Changing?

A New Navigation Experience

The Workday navigation menu is being updated to provide quicker access to the applications and worklets you use. The menu will be docked along the side of the screen by default.

Hover over a category to view and select the available worklets, helping reduce the number of clicks needed to navigate Workday.

You can also personalize your navigation experience by:

Undocking the menu if you prefer the previous behavior.
Reorganizing categories.
Pinning frequently used worklets for quick access.

An Updated Workday Home Page

The Workday Home page is receiving a fresh look, with information and actions organized to help you quickly understand what may need your attention.

To Do and Updates

Workday's Timely Suggestions and Recommended for You experiences are being consolidated into a new To Do and Updates card.

To Do highlights timely actions and suggestions that may require your attention.
Updates provides relevant information for you or, when applicable, your team.

Home Page Cards

You may also notice new or updated cards on your Home page. These cards provide quick access to information and actions relevant to your role and responsibilities.

Examples may include:

Announcements
Time entries
Hiring and staffing information
Other areas of Workday relevant to your role

The existing My Team Highlights card will also become the My Team card.

Workday's new Home Page + Cards

Please note:

The cards available on your Home page will vary based on your role and responsibilities. You may not see every card shown in the example.

Improved Search

The search bar will be more prominent and will serve as the primary entry point on the Workday Home page.

Users will notice a redesigned search bar, cleaner search results, and improved support for natural-language searches, making it easier to find tasks, reports, and information.

The Simplified Search setting will move from the search results page to Account Preferences. Core search functionality will otherwise remain the same.

A Modernized Worker Profile

Worker Profile is receiving a fresh design that changes how information about you and other workers is organized and displayed.

One of the most noticeable changes is an updated Summary experience. When viewing your own Worker Profile, information will be organized into Public and Private areas, making it clearer which information is generally available to others and which information is specific to you.

Only you will see the Private tab on your Worker Profile.

The updated design is intended to make Worker Profile easier to understand and navigate while maintaining access to the information you are accustomed to finding there.

Change Job Update for Role Assignment Review

When employees change positions, managers will receive tasks to review the roles assigned to the current and future positions.

Because roles are position-based assignments rather than assignments to specific users, these review steps will allow managers to evaluate role assignments when a position changes.

What's Not Changing?

Although Workday will have an updated appearance, the way you complete your core tasks will remain the same.

Your day-to-day Workday tasks are staying the same.

Business processes and workflows are not changing.
Tasks such as requesting time off, viewing pay, submitting expenses, and approving items will continue to work as they do today.
User access, security roles, and permissions are not changing.

What Do I Need to Do?

After the update, take a few minutes to explore the new navigation menu and Home page. You may also want to personalize your navigation by reorganizing categories or pinning the Workday items you use most often.

Caleb Shifflet Joins UVAFinance from UVA Medical Center

Welcome to the team, Caleb!

Beginning August 1st, Caleb Shifflet, Treasury Manager from UVA Health University Medical Center (MC), joined the UVAFinance Treasury team, reporting to Donald Cook.

This move builds on momentum from the Treasury workstream developed with EY last year, as we move closer toward the OneUVA Workday initiative. While Caleb and his current direct reports remain Medical Center employees with primary responsibility for supporting MC and Community Health, this change will allow for better harmonization, best practices, development, and transparency between the two organizations.

We're excited to welcome him to the team!

Community Engagement Summit: Co-Creating a Thriving Community

The University of Virginia will host its inaugural 2026 Community Engagement Summit on Thursday, October 15, at Newcomb Hall, bringing together UVA faculty, staff, students, and university partners for a day centered on purposeful community engagement.

The event's featured highlight will be a keynote conversation between Tania D. Mitchell, Associate Provost for Community Engagement at the University of Maryland, and Dr. Stephanie Rowley, Dean of the UVA School of Education and Human Development. Their conversation will explore the role of higher education in building meaningful, mutually beneficial partnerships with the communities it serves.

Throughout the day, attendees will have opportunities to exchange ideas and explore topics through panels on community-engaged scholarship, service-learning, healthy communities, and more.

The summit recognizes that by bringing diverse perspectives together, UVA and its neighbors can strengthen existing partnerships while creating new opportunities to serve the greater Charlottesville-Albemarle region.

The day will conclude with the Public Service Week Reception from 5-7 PM at the Contemplative Commons building, offering attendees an opportunity to continue their conversations and further connect with colleagues.

10:05 AM–11:20 AM	Concurrent Session Block 1	Participants will have the opportunity to choose among three concurrent sessions centering on Community-Engaged Scholarship, K–12 Education, Healthy Communities, Service Learning and Student Engagement, Community Partnerships, or Measuring Impact (Assessing Outcomes).
11:20 AM–11:30 AM	Break	Participants will have the opportunity to take a break and visit the information tables of community partners, UVA offices, and student organizations focused on mutually beneficial engagement and partnerships.

3:45 PM–4:15 PM	Grounded & Going Forward	We will close the summit by reflecting on key takeaways, identifying actionable next steps, and committing to carrying the momentum forward in your work and community.
