Programming Instructor:

They are looking for the talented and passionate instructors who are willing to go above and beyond. Candidates that are interested in working with us will help support an eight-week summer camp of up to 18 elementary school students learning exploring machine learning and other CS topics. A working knowledge of computer science and STEM are critical, and teaching experience is preferred. Must be available Mondays and Tuesdays from 8am-4:30pm June 18th-August 7th. The camp will take place at Steenbock Library.

Direct Responsibilities

• Teach with team of instructors to provide Maydm curriculum
• Build upon the day, with exciting and interactive activities
• Mentor, listen to, and engage with students of various backgrounds and skill levels
• Encourage students to self-identify as technical leaders or resources within their communities
• Stay critical and self-evaluate
• Arrive each day early and with a positive attitude
• Stay up to date on changes in the curriculum or programs as a whole
• Learn new technologies as necessary

About EPD:

EPD is an internationally recognized academic department within the UW-Madison College of Engineering. We provide professional development courses, customized training, internet delivered distance degree programs and technical assistance to practicing professionals in a wide range of technical disciplines

The Position:

Looking for highly self-motivated, responsible and reliable employee to carry out a number of tasks, including but not limited to:

• Provide email and phone customer support
• Update customer information in department database
• Enter course evaluations in department database
• Maintain distribution and organization of course brochures
• Support department staff with course mailings and material preparation
• Check and fill office supplies in common areas of the department
• Run campus errands to Extension Conference Centers, College of Engineering, etc
• Prior customer service experience not necessary, but a plus! Students majoring in engineering are encouraged to apply.
• Basic working knowledge of Mac Operating Systems and Microsoft Office Suite needed. Prefer applicants with proficiency in cloud-based content management tools (UW-KnowledgeBase (KB) and Box), Adobe Acrobat Pro and internal messaging apps.
