The Technopath is a blog focused on the IT industry and would primarily feature news and reviews of the latest software, web applications, and some gadgets (which I can get). Besides that I would also be throwing some tips and hacks I learned from my personal experience.

Though I already have launched The Technopath, its still in its first beta version because there are a lot of features that I had planned for it and they are in development. Yeah I an doing custom pluggins for it.

From all the features that I plan to introduce with The Technopath, the ones that excite me the most are a full featured review system I am currently developing and Technopath HD, the official video service. These features would be introduced in coming weeks so better keep watch. There are also numerous other features under development that I would be releasing on a regular basis.

And while im on the topic, I should also point out that The Technopath is just a social experiment and I would like to hear the feedback of the readers. After all I am doing it for the readers.

Now before you guys jump up and say that this isn’t new or you have done this, let me asure you that what we did was truly unique. The person for whom we threw the farewell, didn’t even show up for the hiking or had anything at the dinner. Why? Because he had a problem with his tooth that morning and the doctors told him not to.

But we still decided to go on with our plan and do the hiking for him. And I don’t even have to tell how much fun we had. You can get a pretty good idea by just following the pictures.

The red line on the map show’s our route. We decided to go off track (as always) and climb up a dried stream and that too around sunset. I would post more photos and videos as soon as I finish fixing and enhancing them.

The Islamabad Bloggers Meetup, the last one for 2008 was hosted at my university, by our IEEE Student Branch on December 29. The meetup was planned and scheduled at a pretty short notice (actually we only had 2 working days before thee meetup). And the problems were further elevated because I had to come to Lahore due a previous engagement, which should be the subject of a whole different post.

Though thanks to Badar Khushnood’s effort, things did go smoothly and we had an awesome event at the end. And hey who would complain when they get me as the official MC (and I was looking like one too). So without any further jabbering, here are some exclusive photos from the meetup. Sorry for the bad quality, (the camera man was shaky) and low resolution.

But today was exceptionally boring. I woke up around 10:30am and found out that its raining outside. So embarked on the quest to get out of my bed an blanket. It wasn’t an easy task and it took a solid 7 hours before I did leave the comfort of my blanket. The sole reason which drove me to do this? Food.

Though I was in bed, I was still constantly tweeting and browsing Facebook which I usually do from my cellphone, though the tweets today were more idiotic than usual. And lets not forget I listened to and shared my comments on every Avril Lavigne song in my phone. Still even after that, I didn’t feel the urge to do something productive today.

I was actually thinking about a video which Shahzad Khan once shared with me on Skype. At that time I too thought that no one can be this mentally retard, but today, I had done stuff even I don’t believe. I’ll post that video again just in case you want another look at it.

Now if anyone of you is brave or creative enough to challenge the level of Laziness I had exhibited then fell free to take the stage and show it too the world.

Actually I have over 150 photos from the meetup and each of them is taken from an 8.2 mega pixel camera, so its kind of hard to upload them at their current resolution. I would downsize them first before uploading them preserving a few which deserve high quality. I’m also having some issues on the new hosting relating to uploads so I may not be able to post them this week.

Getting back to the topic, a new year is upon us and I’m sure everyone has made lots of plans regarding that. I also have decided to do a couple of things, most important of which is getting serious about life now. I would be taking a more professional path now, and hope I don’t repeat any of the mistakes I have done in the past. I also dedicated the past year to all those friends who had turned me down, and all the haters who had inspired me to do more.

I have a lot of expectations from this year because I would be graduating in June, and pray that 2009 would bring solutions to all of our problems, though the next Xbox and Visual Studio wont be here

As far as this personal blog of mine is concerned, I would be updating it too throughout the year. The latest new year additions were a new paid host and my official Lifestream now being aggregated here.

With that said I would officially like to close this post and officially declare the start of 2009. Have a great year folks

Though as always, the registration is free and is only included so that we may have some idea of the number of guests we are expecting. And since the venue, Bahria University, is located at a high security zone, a guest list would be helpful for the purpose of security clearance.

An update on the organizers is that the event now has all the regular organizers including Google Pakistan, CIO Pakistan, IEEE Bahria University Islamabad, PASHA, TIE and Bloggers.pk. Red Bull would be the official drink, giving free samples to the participants and WATEEN would be the official technology partners providing a backup internet connectivity over their famous WiMAX Network.

The meetup is expected to gather bloggers from all corners of Pakistan including Lahore, and Karachi. We are also planning a change in the order of proceedings of the event and include some more inspiring success stories from the local bloggers of Islamabad.

Though the arrangements for the event are on full swing, I can only contribute online because I had to come to Lahore for a previous engagement over the weekend. But I will keep everyone posted about the event through this blog and also through my tweets. Also for up-to-date information on the event, keep a close watch on the official Facebook page of the event.

If you have been following the previous two meetups, you would know how the thing goes. After the two highly successful events in Lahore and Karachi, Badar Khushnood, country consultant for Google, Inc. Pakistan would be behind this event. Along with him, Saad Hamid from Sizlopedia would also be here. In fact Bahria would be home ground for him.

You can expect to see most Bloggers from the region, including Lahore and Peshawar, and as always, everyone is invited. If you are also a Blogger then please spread the word. I would be posting further details on the event soon. Oh and by the way, if anyone is wondering, then this is another mobile post.

Well this time, I’m going to tackle things a different way. If anyone wants to spread rumors then go ahead, after all its just more publicity.

But just to clear up the matter, I would like to add that the pictures recently uploaded on Facebook depicting my all tied up was a part of a dare according which I had to get loose, which I did twice successfully. And for a little proof I actually have a video with me which was shot by the people who dared me.

The video clearly narrates the fact that those n00bs had challenged me and that I agreed to be bounded to this stop sign. And for those who had challenged me, grow up and stop being sour losers

For the record, the photos were taken when I was tied up for the first time, and the video was shot the second time. They planned to tie me up the third time, but it was almost time for the class, and they also figured that I would break out eventually. But nevertheless, it was fun, especially when the girls around were showing concern about what’s happening.

What is (or are) blaagers? Good question. Actually we are a small community of bloggers concentrated in the South Asian sub continent. We are your average Joes doing not so average chores. There are a good number of members in the blaager family with some unusually popular and successful blogs. But our world doesn’t stop there. We are constantly evolving and growing in number of running projects. Out of those, here is a quick introduction of the ones launched in December.

And he really does. Imran Hussain, co-author of Redmond Pie, launched his latest project this month. This new blog is focused on delivering a different a viewpoint in just about anything.

I’m sure everyone knows the little guy from SizzledCore who is the champ at eating just about anything that can fit his mouth. Well if you didn’t then no problem because he has just launched his own personal blog to share his feasting adventures with us.

Blogistaan

Another project of Saad Hamid, this blog aims to cover the political, social and every day issues and ramblings of those in the blaagosphere. Unlike the other startups this month, this blog would feature collaboration by multiple authors (including me).

WCCFTech’s Abdullah Saad also entered the blaagosphere with a bang this month. The first post on his personal blog got over a 1000 unique hits. As the author states, the blog would feature his views on topics ranging from politics and military, to religion and technology. In short, this would be another blog to watch out for in 2009.

This wraps up my review of the newly launched blogs in the blaagosphere for this month. There are a couple of projects that are set to unroll in early 2009 which would be taking a more professional path.
